La heterogeneidad del grupo clase es una de las realidades con la que se enfrenta el profesorado diariamente. Así, los docentes tienen que desarrollar ciertas competencias que les permita avanzar en este nuevo modelo que la sociedad requiere. Elaborar y hacer evolucionar mecanismos de diferenciación es una de esas familias de competencias. El artículo presenta una propuesta de atención a la diversidad en el aula. La apuesta está en elaborar y aplicar materiales de ciencias adaptados a los diferentes niveles de competencia, capacidades y estilos de aprendizaje. Esa propuesta también incide en el aumento del trabajo cooperativo, competencia también fundamental a desarrollar en el profesorado. Nos centramos en el núcleo temático “Cambios químicos” y en el nivel de 3º de ESO.

Characterization of fungal spider pathogens lags far behind their insect counterparts. In addition, little to nothing is known concerning the ecological reservoir and/or fungal entomopathogen community surrounding infection sites. Five infected spider cadavers were identified in the neo-tropical climate of north-central Florida, USA, from three of which viable cultures were obtained. Multi-locus molecular phylogenetic and morphological characterization identified one isolate as a new Gibellula species, here named, Gibellula floridensis, and the other isolates highly similar to Parengyodontium album. The fungal entomopathogen community surrounding infected spiders was sampled at different habitats/trophic levels, including soil, leaf litter, leaf, and twig, and analyzed using ITS amplicon sequencing. These data revealed broad but differential distribution of insect-pathogenic fungi between habitats and variation between sites, with members of genera belonging to Metarhizium and Metacordyceps from Clavicipitaceae, Purpureocillium and Polycephalomyces from Ophiocordyceps, and Akanthomyces and Simplicillium from Cordycipitaceae predominating. However, no sequences corresponding to Gibellula or Parengyodontium, even at the genera levels, could be detected. Potential explanations for these findings are discussed. These data highlight novel discovery of fungal spider pathogens and open the broader question regarding the environmental distribution and ecological niches of such host-specific pathogens.

AbstractThis study investigates drug-loaded liposomes designed for controlled release under ionizing radiation to refine cancer treatment precision. Liposomes as carriers enable targeted chemotherapy delivery, reducing healthy tissue damage risk. Liposomes containing poly- or mono-unsaturated fatty acids and various sensitizing agents were assessed for responsiveness to UV light and γ photon irradiation including rose bengal (RB), protoporphyrin IX (PPIX), verteporfin (VP), cercosporin (CERC) and hypericin (HYP). Carboxyfluorescein (CF) was used as a surrogate for drug release measurements. VP and PPIX induced rapid drug release and lipid peroxidation under UV light, while RB prompted quick drug release under UV light and a modest immediate release under γ irradiation, eventually reaching full release a few hours after irradiation, demonstrating dose-dependent effects. Smaller liposomes displayed accelerated release, emphasizing size-dependent kinetics. In vitro analyses evaluated radiosensitizing effects of RB-loaded liposomes. Clonogenic assays indicated that RB-filled liposomes had minimal direct radiobiological effects but increased indirect radiation damage, as shown by the curvature of the cell survival curve. Our study sheds light on factors influencing liposomal drug release under ionizing radiation, spotlighting RB as a promising radiosensitizer requiring further investigation for cancer therapy potential.
