This article examines different diagnostic methods for detecting early proximal carious lesions. The study compares clinical visual and radiographic techniques with histological analysis. The results show that radiographic methods are more effective in detecting these lesions compared to clinical methods. The article emphasizes the importance of using both visual examination and radiography for diagnosing carious lesions. Additionally, the article discusses the use of radiographic examinations, such as bitewing radiography and orthopantomography, in detecting carious lesions in children and patients with increased cariogenic risk. However, there are differing opinions on the effectiveness of orthopantomography in detecting non-cavitated carious lesions. Overall, the article concludes that radiographic methods have higher validity in detecting early proximal carious lesions compared to clinical methods. [Extracted from the article]
