The subjective orgasm experience (SOE) refers to the perception, sensation and/or evaluation of orgasm from a psychological point of view, representing an important construct of sexual functioning rarely studied under a dyadic approach. This study analyzed SOE in the contexts of sexual relationships and solitary masturbation in 179 different-sex and same-sex couples. The results indicated the absence of differences in intradyadic discrepancies in SOE dimensions in both sexual contexts, varying according to the type of couple. Besides, the study also highlights the influence of some of these discrepancies of SOE in solitary masturbation on SOE discrepancies in sexual relationships among the members of male-female and female-female couples. Furthermore, the study revealed that the intensity of partners' orgasm experience during solitary masturbation influences the intensity of SOE during sexual relationships, with variations observed based on the type of couple. These findings highlight the importance of considering SOE from a dyadic approach, with the association of orgasmic experience in both sexual contexts gaining relevance, differing according to the couple type. Until December 2020, Spanish primary schools were not required to provide any kind of sexuality education, and most teachers did not receive training to carry it out. However, sexuality is clearly present in children's daily lives in school. We carried out qualitative research with teachers from four primary schools in Catalonia (Spain), aiming to explore how teachers without specific training in sexuality approach the issues in the classroom. Our analysis shows that teachers in the four schools governed children's sexuality in a gendered manner, using communicative vigilance and surveillance to regulate how children touched their own genitals. Findings suggest the need for continuing professional development and training to ensure teachers (re)think what adults may communicate to children about sexuality and gender when they have not received training in relationships and sex education. Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) as a concept was introduced at the end of the 1970s and covers diseases such as typical venereal diseases, as well as chlamydia infections, viral hepatitis B, hepatitis C and subsequently acquired immune deficiency syndrome, etc. The name of venereal diseases is derived from Venus, the goddess of love, beauty and fertility since Roman times. In India, formal training of venereologists started in 1910. The source of infection is a human. Clinical manifestations have a similar mechanism of transmission - through sexual contact, vertical transmission of pathogens and blood. STDs occur most often in the time of sexual maturation of individuals, which is getting extended at earlier age. The children are not prepared and aware with the risks of this new stage of their lives, and hence the prevention, which reveals the actuality of the topic. The aim of the present article is to study the need to introduce educational programs in sexology classes for the relevant age development - Primary schools and Secondary schools. There for an active members are needed such as health professionals (school nurses), child psychologists, teachers, parents and social workers. Results: The total number of respondents from two Secondary schools in the city of Burgas is 114 learners from grade 9th, 10th and 11th where the percentage of girls is predominant (72%). Of those who filled out the questionnaires, only 32 of all learners filled in some of the symptoms of STDs. As methods of protection they indicate a condom, medication, antibiotics, chastity, monogamy, vaccination, prevention, personal hygiene, contraceptives, gloves, masks, masturbation, toys. Among the STDs they know, the highest percentage is: AIDS, HIV, followed by gonorrhea and syphilis. During the discussion part followed by the thematic video the learners freely expressed their thoughts, the awareness of the problem and their desire to be informed through such an educational meetings and discussions with health professionals in the future. Materials and methods: Sociological, documentary and statistical methods were used. Conclusion: The obtained results show that the learners have a serious lack of knowledge on the subject, as well as on the methods of prevention and treatment. AbstractObjectives: To evaluate whether the presence of sexual problems in men (i.e., erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, or delayed ejaculation) is associated with differential sexual behavior during masturbation and partnered sex. Methods: Cisgender participants (n = 2,807) completed an internet-based, cross-sectional questionnaire about sexual interest, behavior, and functioning. Results: Men with premature ejaculation were less likely to engage in foreplay-type behaviors, whereas men with erectile dysfunction or delayed ejaculation were more likely to include self-stimulation and/or other stimulation strategies during partnered sex. AbstractSolo masturbation is prevalent across adulthood. However, there are conflicting findings regarding how masturbation is associated with well-being. Understanding individuals’ motives for masturbating might help disentangle these conflicting findings; yet, existing measures are suboptimal for assessing motives for solo masturbation. In this study, 2960 adults (18-84 years old, Mage = 32.62, SDage = 11.36, 60.2% men, 36.8% women) who had engaged in solo masturbation within the past year responded to items, written based on existing literature, reflecting a wide range of motives for masturbating. Exploratory factor analysis revealed eight factors that warranted retention (Fantasy, Pleasure/Arousal, Compulsion, Improvement, Sexual Dissatisfaction, Coping, Efficiency, and Avoidance of Risky Sex), and this structure was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis. Measurement invariance was established across men and women, and individuals in and not in a sexually active romantic relationship. The resultant measure comprises 24 items assessing eight distinct motives. Fit indices and scale reliabilities suggest this new measure of masturbation motives is psychometrically sound. Correlations with related constructs (e.g., sex drive, dissatisfaction with partnered sex, religiosity, depression, anxiety, and attitudes toward masturbation) provide preliminary evidence of validity. We investigate sexual behaviours as a means of coping with negative emotions during the first covid19-related lockdown in France. We hypothesize that sexual behaviours have been used by the most psychologically fragile individuals to cope with the constraints, pressures, and threats associated with the health situation. We are interested in the overall use of sexual behaviours for coping purposes. We also distinguish dual relationships (with partners) from masturbatory behaviours. 2234 participants (mean age: 31.4yo, Female: 68.3%) participated to an on-line non-interventional survey during the first French covid-related lockdown. We assessed frequency of sexual behaviours in order to cope with stress, depression and anxiety. Main results show an increase in the use of sexuality as way of coping with negative emotions for 17.1% of the subjects (n = 382). Masturbatory behaviours were the most impacted (+12%, n = 269). Women differed from men both in the overall use of sexual behaviours as a coping strategy and in the more specific use of partnered sex. In line with our hypotheses, increasing use of sexual behaviours as a coping strategy during lockdown is more important when subjects present psychological vulnerabilities, such as anxiety symptoms or depressive symptoms. Background: Although sexual life and its knowledge are still taboo in many cultures, especially for women, it can negatively affect women's sexual health. Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the frequency and duration of masturbation and the sexual health literacy among young Muslim women of reproductive age between 18 and 25 years living in western Turkey. Methods: The cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 921 young women in western Turkey between March and December 2023. Participants were included in the study per the snowball method. The data consisted of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors regarding masturbation, sexual life, and sexual health literacy. Data were obtained on an online platform and analyzed with SPSS (version 24; IBM). Difference, correlation, and regression analyses were performed. The significance level for statistical analyses was accepted as P < .05. Outcomes: The outcomes of the study are the attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors regarding masturbation, orgasm, sexual health literacy, and sexual function in women. Results: The participants were young Muslim women aged 21.00 ± 1.89 years (mean ± SD). The frequency of masturbation was 5.06 ± 2.03 times per month, and the duration was 3.47 ± 1.77 minutes per day. Masturbation frequency and duration were significantly associated with sexual health literacy and sexual function (P < .001). According to regression analysis, sexual function increased and sexual health literacy increased as masturbation frequency and duration increased (P < .001). Clinical Implications: This study presents results on the current situation regarding the sexual health literacy and sexual lives in women from different geographies and cultures, and it serves as a source for future studies on areas that need to be improved. Strengths and Limitations: The limitation of the study is that it was conducted only with Muslim and Turkish women who use smartphones and are sexually active, so it cannot be generalized to all women. The strengths of the study are that it was conducted with a sample of 921 women, it was based on self-report and addressed many dimensions related to masturbation and female sexuality, and the results were reached through exploratory analysis. This study aimed to provide epidemiological information on drug-facilitated sexual assault in Spanish youth partying, with a focus on prevalence rates and associated sociodemographic factors. Cross-sectional study. Quota sampling was used to recruit 1601 young people aged 18–35 years in Spain from a digital panel. A validated questionnaire on drug-facilitated sexual assault was used to assess five types of lifetime victimisation experiences while partying. Chi-square and the exact Fisher tests were used to describe the prevalence of victimisation, drug use patterns, and perpetrator profiles. Generalised ordered logistic regression was used to explore factors associated with victimisation, analysed by gender. Half of young women and one-quarter of young men had experienced drug-facilitated sexual assault in their lifetime. Female victimisation due to touching and kissing was notably high, whereas men comprised almost half of the victims of more invasive DFSA experiences involving masturbation, penetration, and oral sex. Opportunism prevailed as the assault tactic, consisting of taking advantage of the victims' incapacity derived from voluntary alcohol use. Among women, risk of victimisation was associated with a lower education level, foreign-born status, and being non-heterosexual. Male victimisation risk was highest among non-heterosexual men. Drug-facilitated sexual violence in youth nightlife contexts is a serious public health issue in Spain, which requires urgent action. Most assaults involve taking advantage of victims who are incapacitated by the effects of voluntary alcohol consumption. We aimed to establish the prevalence of atypical masturbation in the general population and explore the association between atypical masturbation and male sexual dysfunction in heterosexual males. Atypical masturbation refers to stimulation significantly distinct from that encountered during partnered sexual activity. We posted questionnaires that contained the abridged International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-6) and the premature ejaculation diagnostic tool on social media in China. We collected 2743 valid questionnaires from December 9, 2020, to April 18, 2021. We found that the prevalence of atypical masturbation in the general population was 10.97%. Men with atypical masturbation had lower IIEF-6 scores and higher rates of erectile dysfunction (ED) than men with typical masturbation. The prevalence of premature ejaculation and estimated intravaginal ejaculatory latency time were not significantly different among men with different patterns of masturbation. Our study demonstrated that atypical masturbation is associated with ED, and a clinician dealing with sexual issues should inquire more fully about masturbation patterns than has been done to date. The goal of this study was to explore the sexual activities that older adults consider as having had sex and to examine correlates of the ways that older men and women define sex. A sample of 286 men and women aged 60 years and older who were involved in a romantic relationship were recruited online from Prolific and Facebook advertisements. Participants were presented a list of 19 different sexual activities and asked whether they would think they had sex if they engaged in each one of those activities. Results showed that penetrative sexual activities were found to be the most likely endorsed as having had sex, followed by genital non-penetrative activities, masturbation activities, and non-genital contact. Greater sexual frequency for a sexual activity was associated with endorsing that same activity as having had sex. A cluster analysis revealed five different groups of individuals based on the activities that they considered as having had sex. Only small differences in sexual wellbeing were found among these groups of individuals. The way older men and women define sex is complex and shows great variability. Our results have important implications for the operationalization and assessment of sexual activity. Other implications for healthcare and future research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Limited gender-based research has compared sexual health among pornography users (PUs) and non-users, including non-problematic pornography users (non-PPUs) and problematic pornography users (PPUs), particularly in non-Western cultures. Methods: A 2022 cross-sectional study involving 450 Iranian university students categorized participants as PUs or non-users based on 12 months of use. PUs were further classified as non-PPUs or PPUs using the 'Problematic Pornography Use Scale' cutoff point, with comparisons of demographic and sexual variables made between these groups. Results: Pornography use was reported among 39.6% of students, including 51.7% of men and 33.6% of women. In general, 9.5% of participants were PPUs, including 17.4% of men and 5.6% of women. PUs were mainly men, had fewer children, shorter marriages, lower religiosity, and lower levels of education. Compared with non-users, PUs reported earlier sexual relationships, lower satisfaction with sex frequency and communication, and greater rates of extramarital relationships, masturbation, sexual desire, and sexual distress. PPUs reported more sexual desire, pornography use, masturbation, and extramarital affairs than non-PPUs. Similar patterns in demographics, sexual history, and health were observed in pornography use across genders. The regression indicated being male (OR: 2.42, 95% CI: 1.44–4.06), having lower education (OR: 0.89, 95% CI: 0.81–0.97), fewer children (OR: 0.64, 95% CI: 0.48–0.86), higher masturbation (OR: 1.31, 95% CI: 1.14–1.49), more extramarital relationship (OR: 1.69, 95% CI: 1.07–2.67), less religiosity (OR: 0.87, 95% CI: 0.82–0.93), more sexual excitement (OR: 0.79, 95% CI:0.62–1), and more sexual distress (OR: 1.20, 95% CI: 1.02–1.32) were associated with pornography use. Two-way ANOVA found no significant effects of gender or pornography use on sexual satisfaction. Women had worse sexual function regardless of usage. Objectives: Recent findings suggest that individuals tend to engage in masturbation more frequently when experiencing elevated levels of psychological stress, and there appears to be distinguishable effects on stress response based on clitoral and vaginal stimulation. In this concurrent mixed-method study, we aimed to investigate this association in more detail using a convenience sample of 370 women. Methods: Quantitative data were used to examine whether higher psychological distress was associated with higher levels of masturbation frequency depending on the mode of stimulation, while qualitative data gave further insight into this association. Results: In regression analysis, higher levels of general and subscale-specific psychological distress were significantly associated with higher clitoral, but not combined clitoral and vaginal masturbation frequency. Qualitative content analysis showed that masturbation was used as a reliable coping strategy and self-care strategy which induced positive affective states, such as happiness and relaxation. Very few women reported negative feelings associated with masturbation. Mixed-method analysis revealed that women who indicated to use of masturbation for coping or self-care or who reported negative feelings did not differ in their level of psychological distress from women who did not report using it. The positive effects of masturbation were not related to the mode of stimulation. Conclusions: Results showed the complexity of how psychological distress is related to sexual activity and point to the potential benefits of masturbation for dealing with psychological distress and for enhancing general well-being. This study investigates the significance of sexuality education for individuals with disabilities in Taiwan. It highlights the importance of understanding sexuality as a fundamental aspect of identity, encompassing intimate relationships and connection to others. Since the implementation of the Gender Equity Education Act in 2004, Taiwan has made efforts to include comprehensive sexuality education in the school curriculum and integrate disabled students into mainstream education. However, disabled individuals still face barriers due to ableism and heteronormativity, which impede their access to sexual and reproductive health services, including sexuality education. To address this issue, we conducted a qualitative investigation using narrative and policy data, drawing on Scott's phenomenology of nothingness and crip theory to explore the intersection of sexualities and disabilities in educational contexts. Our findings reveal that individuals with disabilities in Taiwan often rely on pornography and other erotic materials as informal sources of sex education. Hand Angels, a volunteer-based group established in 2013, has been actively promoting sexual rights within disability rights organisations, advocating for a comprehensive, sex-positive, pleasure-focused, and rights-based approach to sexuality education. Sexual health education should meet the needs of all students. One strategy educators can use to ensure instruction meets students' needs is to encourage the submission of anonymous questions, allowing students to gain information without fear of instructor or peer reactions. We investigated anonymous questions submitted by middle school (7th-grade, ages 12-13) students during a sexual health education curriculum in Ohio, USA. Questions (n=893) were organised into 12 categories: reproductive anatomy (n=186), LGBTQ+ topics (n=130), sexual behaviour (n=120), class-related questions (n=99), pregnancy (n=78), slang (n=52), STIs (n=44), protection/birth control (n=33), relationships (n=19), consent (n=14), health services (n=9), abstinence (n=1), and unrelated questions/comments (n=108). After categorising questions, we conducted thematic analysis with the three largest categories (reproductive anatomy, LGBTQ+ topics, sexual behaviour). Results revealed students wanted to know about the normality of the processes and functions of their bodies. Students also expressed concern and had internalised social norms about LGBTQ+ topics. Student questions about sexual behaviour suggested they wanted to learn more about the purposes and processes of sex, e.g., how people have intercourse. Findings underscore the need for inclusive, comprehensive and medically accurate sexual health education for early adolescents. The current study investigated the correlates of post-coital dysphoria (PCD) in men and women. Moreover, the study explored the PCD prevalence in the sexual contexts of a relationship, casual sex, and masturbation. An online survey was completed by 156 participants, 51 males and 105 females. All participants were over 18 and have had sex in and out of relationships, as well as having engaged in masturbation. Results showed that PCD was prevalent in each of the three sexual contexts, for both males and females. Furthermore, some previously identified correlates were replicated and found to be statistically significant predictors of PCD. A previously unexplored variable that was also found to significantly predict PCD were negative attitudes toward masturbation. The current research established that PCD occurs in multiple sexual contexts – something previously unknown. Prevalence rates of PCD after sex within a relationship, casual sex, and masturbation, for males were 21.6, 49 and 72.5, respectively. For females, prevalence rates were 11.4, 77.1 and 51.4%, respectively. Additionally, it identified which factors predict the experience of PCD for each of the different sexual contexts for each gender. Introduction: Adolescent North Korean defectors are vulnerable due to harmful environments during defection, limited access to sex education in North Korea, and exposure to different sexual norms in South Korea. The purpose of this study was to investigate the sexual knowledge, attitudes, and sex education needs of North Korean refugee adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive survey was administered to 102 North Korean refugee adolescents. Results: The correct answer rate for questions on genital anatomy, physiology, masturbation, and contraception was less than 20%. The participants exhibited conservative attitudes toward female contraception, masturbation, and having friends of the opposite sex. A significant positive correlation was found between knowledge and the need for sex education. Discussion: These results highlight the importance of tailored sex education in providing accurate information, improving sexual knowledge, fostering positive attitudes, and enabling healthy behaviors among adolescent North Korean defectors. Inappropriate sexual behaviors may be observed in individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID), especially during adolescence. There are several undesired consequences of exhibiting such behaviors in public spaces, such as schools. The competencies and attitudes of special education teachers, who are responsible for the education of individuals with ID, are of significant influence. This study was conducted to investigate the views of special education teachers working with adolescents with ID on inappropriate sexual behaviors exhibited in educational settings. Accordingly, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 special education teachers. The phenomenological research design, one of the qualitative research methods, and thematic analysis were used in this study. Five themes were identified after the analysis of the findings of the study, namely, common behaviors, teacher attitudes, teacher competencies, teacher interventions, and educational content. The findings were discussed on the basis of the relevant studies in the literature and a number of conclusions were reached. Accordingly, the inappropriate sexual behaviors that special education teachers encounter the most frequently are masturbation, undressing, and touching, and when these behaviors are exhibited aggressively, teachers have difficulty in intervening. This paper analyses the relationship between masturbation and literary creation, taking as a reference the memoirs and some poems by Carlos Barral. For this purpose, it also considers texts by other authors, who lived through Franco's repression just like Barral or simply gave their own meaning to the search for intimate pleasure implied by autoeroticism. The essay aims to study the ways in which literary and sexual subjectivity feed back into each other, in an era marked by censorship and silence.

Background: Childhood gratification syndrome (CGS) refers to self-stimulatory or masturbatory behaviors in children, which may have an onset as early as in infancy (IGS). Aim: The aim of this review is to understand the various clinical manifestations of CGS/IGS and their clinical differentiation from commonly misdiagnosed neurological and physical illnesses and to formulate a preliminary approach to their diagnosis and management. Methods: This narrative review is based on a search of literature over the past 50 years (1972--2022) in three online databases (PubMed/Medline, Embase, and Google Scholar). Results: The behaviors are episodic, occurring for brief periods, involving posturing, stereotypical limb movements, pubic pressure with autonomic hyperactivity, and postepisodic lethargy. They mimic seizures, movement disorders, abdominal pain, and tics. The paper also highlights the gap in the current knowledge to guide future research in the area. CGS usually represents nonpathological "pleasure-seeking" habits of childhood, but at times, it may become problematic for the child and his family. A careful history and videotape analysis of the events confirms the diagnosis and behavioral therapy with parental reassurance as the mainstay of treatment. Conclusion: A better understanding and clinical awareness of the CGS are necessary to prevent misdiagnosis and delay in appropriate intervention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

College students represent a unique population in terms of reasons for engaging and not engaging in masturbation given that they may have more expansive ideas about masturbation while also (for some) being limited in experience engaging in masturbation. Survey data were collected from 531 college students at a Western university in the United States. Lifetime masturbation, masturbation frequency, reasons for engaging in masturbation (or not engaging in masturbation), and body satisfaction were examined. Results indicated that only women (n = 55; 12%) and one transgender/gender non-conforming student reported never engaging in masturbation. Eighteen reasons for engaging in masturbation were identified with women reporting more nuanced reasons for engaging in masturbation. The most cited reason for engaging in masturbation was for "pleasure." Results indicated that citing pleasure as a reason for masturbation was associated with more frequency of masturbation for women (not for men). Seven reasons for not engaging in masturbation were identified (by women). Results also indicated significant differences in masturbation frequency between men and women. However, no differences were observed in body satisfaction between women that had ever masturbated and those that had not and there were no significant correlations between body satisfaction and masturbation frequency. Based on three-month online participant observation in "Jie Se Ba," a male-dominated pornography abstinence forum with 6 million users, this article explores how low-status men in China recode the requirements of Chinese individualisation by using China's traditional ethics in order to make individualisation accessible to themselves. I examine their aspirations as desiring selves, their means of self-mastery and the community culture they have established. Due to a lack of financial power, educational background, and cultural resources, members of this group disengage from mainstream desires for financial success and middle-class-style self-fashioning practices. Instead, by appropriating traditional Chinese sexual ethics, they set more modest family-centred aspirations and adopt jiese, or masturbation abstinence, as a means of practicing self-mastery to build their striving selves. In their efforts to integrate themselves into Chinese individualisation, they accept and express a set of conservative gender-sex and familial ethics. This article argues that such a situation is caused, at root, by a social mechanism within Chinese individualisation that restricts, excludes and stigmatises low-status groups. NoFap is a community of mostly heterosexual men abstaining from what they see as an addictive cycle of pornography, masturbation, and orgasm, induced by the exploitation of innate male urges by the pornography industry. In the general population, increased masturbation and consumption of pornography are associated with psychological factors including low affect, loneliness, and boredom, all of which may be exacerbated by the lockdown/social distancing measures adopted in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The present study explores how the NoFap community has responded to the pandemic through discourse analysis of an online message board. We identify four key themes: i) I let go in lockdown, ii) the opportunity of lockdown, iii) testing the parameters of NoFap, and iv) community cohesion. Each is defined and discussed. The purpose of this study was to expand the empirical research on Black women's sexualities by exploring differences in heterosexual and queer Black women's sexual experiences including sexual pleasure, orgasms, masturbation, number of sex partners, and sexual desire through a Black queer feminist lens. This study used survey data from n = 295 Black cisgender women from phase one of the triphasic Big Sex Study. Results showed that Black queer women had more sexual partners and reported masturbating at earlier ages compared to heterosexual women. Black queer women also reported higher pleasure ratings in sexual activities, sexual intimacy, and sexual intercourse. Finally, there were differences in correlates of sexual desire between heterosexual and queer women; however, no factors were correlated with desire to engage in sexual intercourse for power and control for both groups of women. Implications for advancing sex positive research on sexually diverse Black women are included. Black women's sexology has often focused on sexual risks and heterosexual women. This study focuses on sex positive aspects including sexual pleasure, orgasms, and desire among Black heterosexual and queer women. Background: This study addresses the sexuality of people with moderate intellectual disabilities (PMID), a topic that has been little studied. Understanding romantic and sexual experiences is highly relevant for reducing stigma and prejudice related to their sexuality. Additionally, comprehending the level of sexual knowledge of PMID contributes to the development of preventive and sexual health education programmes tailored for this group. Our aim is to explore the sexual history (relationships, sexual behaviour, condom use and sexual abuse), sex education received and the level of sexual knowledge of PMID. Method: The total of 142 PMID completed questionnaires about sexual knowledge and experiences, and their support staff provided additional information. Data were analysed using chi‐square test (χ2) and descriptive statistical analysis. Results: Masturbation was the most common sexual behaviour (75.7%), especially among men (χ2 = 5.81, P < 0.05). Sexual intercourse was rare, and only 30.5% reported using condoms. Women reported a higher prevalence of self‐reported sexual abuse (27.3% vs. 6% in men). The study also highlighted misconceptions about sexual intercourse risks and contraceptive methods. Previous research suggests that experiencing disgust in sexual contexts may negatively impact sexual satisfaction and functioning. However, little is known about the mechanisms (e.g., sexual anxiety) that influence or underlie sex-related disgust. Additionally, immersive tendencies may play a role in shaping emotional experiences when presented with sexual cues. Recent technological advancements, especially in virtual reality (VR), offer a promising avenue to explore emotions in simulated intimate and sexual interactions. This study aimed to examine the influence of sexual anxiety and immersive tendencies on reported levels of disgust when exposed to virtual erotica. A sample of 59 participants (≥ 18 years) completed self-report questionnaires of sexual anxiety and immersive tendencies. Levels of disgust were assessed during exposure to synthetic virtual characters engaging in erotic behaviours of increasing intensity across six scenarios, ranging from flirting to nudity, masturbation, and orgasm. Linear mixed models were performed on observed data. Higher levels of sexual anxiety were significantly associated with increased disgust throughout the immersive experience (β = 0.48), while greater immersive tendencies were significantly linked to lower disgust ratings (β = −0.66). Additionally, disgust ratings significantly increased with the intensity of the virtual sexual stimuli (β = 0.48). Aim The child's self-stimulating pleasure behavior is defined as childhood masturbation (CM). Diagnosis of CM is mainly based on behavior and analysis of video recordings. This study aims to investigate etiological factors, movement patterns, and treatment options. Medical records and video recordings of CM in our clinic between 2015 and 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. Results Ninety patients aged 8 months to 9 years were included in our study. The male-to-female ratio was 23/67. The mean age at onset of masturbation (mean ± standard deviation) was 21.42 ± 18.44 (6–107) months. Note that 27.7% (32) of the patients were taking antiepileptic drugs before admission. Eight of the 90 patients had abnormal electroencephalograms. The time of onset of CM was related to cessation of breast milk in 24.4%, separation from the mother in 43.3%, new siblings in 16.6%, initiation of toilet training in 7.7%, and parental divorce in 6.6%. Behavioral therapy was sufficient in 71.1%. Hydroxyzine hydrochloride in 19 (21.1%) and risperidone in 9 (10%) were given in the remaining cases. Overall, 23/28 of the cases receiving medication improved during follow-up. Conclusion Physicians may have difficulty identifying repetitive movements in CM. Misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis may lead to unnecessary use of antiepileptic drugs, delayed initiation of treatment, and prolonged treatment duration. Video recordings are important in the differential diagnosis of CM. CM may have psychosocial causes and can often be effectively treated with behavioral therapy. This article links Samuel Richardson's final novel Sir Charles Grandison (1753) to the twenty-first-century Proud Boys in order to examine seriously the implications of two often overlooked aspects of both: Grandison's virginity and the Proud Boys' "No Wanks" policy. This policy, which limits members' masturbation, can serve to elucidate the sexual politics of Grandison, as both the modern-day men's rights group and the eighteenth-century novel valorize male sexual restraint as a form of domestic dominance. This article argues that Grandison's idealization of male sexual restraint reinforces the portrait of male virility for which Richardson's earlier novels were criticized, rendering the virile male protagonist palatable to readers of the domestic novel's courtship plot. The valorization of restraint exhibited by Richardson's hero and the Proud Boys advances a sublimated understanding of male virility that works to solidify the fiction of sexual essentialism that still permeates our culture today. Masturbation abstinence practices have returned to the USA in the form of semen retention communities. Followers on one of these male, anti-masturbation forums, "NoFap," on Reddit (denoted "r/NoFap"), have engaged in homicidal behaviors that appear to be linked to these sexual beliefs and practices. This study uses a systematic search on r/NoFap and two control forums (r/pornfree, and r/stopdrinking) to define a corpus of violent content. The study's goals were to describe the nature of threats on r/NoFap and suggest whether the violence might be attributable to sexual deprivation or false beliefs that non-sexual targets caused their violent urges. Of the 421 violent posts identified from September 2011 to September 2022, r/NoFap contained the majority (94.3%). Violent threats on r/NoFap mostly targeted pornographers, women, scientists, specific persons, or any person (i.e. homicidal "rage"). Violent threats against r/NoFap's own followers were growing most quickly. Violent posts were well-supported with upvotes by other followers in r/NoFap. Background: Sexuality research on the sexual practices of women who have sex with women (WSW) has thus far mostly centered on risk factors and addressed a limited number of practices, with a focus on oral sex and insertive vaginal sex. Aim: This study arises from the need to fill such a significant gap, which prevents researchers, clinicians, and policy makers from being adequately up-to-date on the sexual habits and tendencies of this population. Methods: A multiple-choice questionnaire was completed by 723 WSW with a mean (SD) age of 29.14 (6.94) years. Outcomes: The survey included closed questions on sexual practices, including genital and oral sex, but also nongenital sexual contact (petting and intercrural sex), anal sex, and kinky practices. Results: The most common sexual practices were self-masturbation (99.03%), oral sex (performed or received, 98.20%), and insertive genital sex (performed or received, 89.07%). Half of our sample had tried kinky practices at least once in a lifetime (51.31%). Respondents tended to experiment sexually more with stable partners rather than with casual ones. Comparisons among practices in the lesbian and bisexual population are presented. Clinical Implications: Providers should be aware that sexual orientations have their own specificities, including sexuality and practices, which should increase their knowledge and comfort in working with sexual minorities. Strengths and Limitations: The novel topic of the study addresses the gap in sexuality research among WSW. Strengths include the sex-positive approach, the inclusion of an array of sexual practices, and the consideration of the specificities of the group. Limitations in the generalization of the results are the cross-sectional design and the explicit topic, which may have kept some persons from responding. Although historically stigmatized, women's participation in the sex toy industry is significantly linked to their sexual autonomy, and women's use of sex toys for sexual pleasure is prevalent. In this analysis, we consider how these important market practices are built upon practices established outside the erotic market in early life. More specifically, we reveal how women's and AFAB (Assigned-Female-At-Birth) individuals' early-life encounters with household objects prefigure their adult consumption of sex toys. Using the theory of affordances, we demonstrate that the pursuit of sexual pleasure is a perceptual learning process, beginning long before individuals enter the erotic industry as consumers, and continuing throughout their lifecourse with both "erotic" and "non-erotic" objects. This study draws from life history narrative data collected in 2019–2020 from 30 participants, with 26 out of 30 participants identifying as LGBTQIA+. Introduction: This study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of sexual stimulation with that of placebo in the treatment of distal ureteral stones. Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2022 for studies comparing the efficacy of sexual stimulus with that of placebo for the treatment of distal ureteral stones. RevMan 5.3 software was used to pool the data. The study protocol was registered on PROSPERO (Registration Number: CRD42023432408). Results: A total of six randomized controlled trials comprising 535 cases of distal ureteral stones were included in this study. Among these, 273 cases were associated with sexual intercourse or masturbation 3–4 times a week, while 262 cases only received symptomatic treatment. The subjective orgasm experience (SOE) refers to its perception and/or assessment from a psychological viewpoint. Few works have approached this construct from a qualitative perspective and have never taken a consolidated theoretical model as a reference. This study aims to provide qualitative validity evidence to the Multidimensional Model of Subjective Orgasmic Experience, derived from the Orgasm Rating Scale (ORS), to qualitatively address SOE in the contexts of sexual relationships and solitary masturbation, analyzing the terms self-generated by individuals and examining the coincidence with the semantic descriptions of orgasm proposed by the ORS. Four hundred Spanish adults aged 18 to 64 years participated. The Technique of Free Association of Words was applied, and prototypical, frequency, and similitude analyses were performed. A similar description was observed concerning the terms generated in both contexts, with a higher frequency and intensity in the context of sexual relationships. In the context of solitary masturbation, negative orgasmic descriptions were evoked. Participants were able to elicit the vast majority of ORS adjectives, with Affective being the most notable dimension, followed closely by Rewards, especially in masturbation. Most of the adjectives were evoked simultaneously with those of the Affective, with "pleasurable" standing out as the most predominant one. This work provides qualitative evidence to the SOE study, ratifying the semantic composition of the ORS and thus endorsing the Multidimensional Model of Subjective Orgasmic Experience as a good theoretical model from which to continue studying the subjective orgasmic experience. Background: The relationship between factors related to masturbation, sexual function, and genital self-image among women has not been fully explored in the literature. Aim: The study sought to investigate the association between masturbation frequency, feelings, and behaviors with sexual function and genital self-image in young women. Methods: A cross-sectional survey among 110 undergraduate female students was conducted. Online self-administered questionnaires to assess sociodemographic characteristics, masturbatory frequency, feelings, and behavior were completed. Participants also answered the Brazilian version of the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the Female Genital Self-Image Scale (FGSIS). Outcomes: The outcome includes masturbation frequency and behaviors associated, as well as scores on the FSFI and FGSIS. Results: Women showed higher scores in FSFI subdomains when masturbation was considered important for them, along with reported feelings of empowerment and satisfaction during this activity. However, those who experienced negative emotions during masturbation, such as shame or guilt, demonstrated a significant association with lower scores in both FSFI and FGSIS. Masturbation frequency was found to correlate with better sexual function specifically in the desire domain among women who engaged in daily masturbation. Additionally, an association was observed between higher scores in the FGSIS and increased scores in the domains of satisfaction, arousal, and orgasm within the FSFI. There was an association in the domain's satisfaction, arousal, and orgasm of the FSFI with greater scores in FGSIS. Clinical Implications: The clinical implications encompass the augmentation of understanding pertaining to female sexual function. Strengths and Limitations: The study provides valuable insights into the sexual behavior of undergraduate female students, and its methodology improves openness in responses, as it provides anonymity given the sensitive nature of the topic studied. Study limitations include the unsuitability of the FSFI questionnaire for sexually inactive women in the past 4 weeks; the participation bias and reporting bias in sexuality searches; and the unknown validity of the investigator-derived questionnaire about masturbation, as it has not been previously validated. Conclusion: Masturbation frequency has minimal to no impact on female sexual function, whereas harboring positive feelings toward it and maintaining a positive genital self-image may exert a positive influence on sexual function. When Jumai told her cousin, she wanted to get intimate with a man, her cousin replied that as a blind woman she should not be thinking about things like that, but instead should be on her knees praying. Disabled women in Nigeria often experience this kind of pushback if they express sexual desire. Sexual and reproductive health interventions for disabled people in Nigeria usually exclude desires and pleasures, and only address vulnerabilities to sexual violence or ill-health. Beyond Nigeria, pleasure has also been missing in health and policy discourses regarding disabled people and regarding African women. Now research, activism and advocacy have started to bring pleasure into the discourse in relation to both disabled people and African women. However, for disabled African women, the possibilities for pleasure continue to be side-lined. This article starts to address that gap by presenting qualitative research with five disabled women in Nigeria about their experiences of sexuality and pleasure. Sexual cognitions are an important aspect of sexual well-being for all individuals; however, little is known about the sexual cognitions of autistic individuals. Therefore, our study aimed to explore the diversity, content, and frequencies of positive (PSC) and negative (NSC) sexual cognitions in this population. A total of 332 participants (57.5% women; 42.5% men) between the ages of 21 and 73 (M = 37.72, SD = 11.15) completed an online survey. Our results showed that almost all participants had experienced both positive and negative sexual cognitions. PSC were more diverse and experienced with greater frequency than NSC. In addition, gender (self-identified as being male) and having had relationship experience were associated with greater diversity and frequency of PSC, but not NSC. In terms of content, the most common experienced sexual cognitions for both men and women were intimacy-related. The men experienced 22 of the 56 PSC and 3 of the 56 NSC significantly more frequently than did the women; there were no cognitions that the women experienced more frequently than the men. A comparison to the results of studies of sexual cognitions among neurotypical individuals suggests that autistic individuals experience sexual cognitions in much the same way as their peers. However, sexual cognitions occur slightly less frequently and are somewhat less diverse. Nonetheless, the way in which they are experienced, and the content of the most frequent cognitions (mainly PSC about intimacy) may be indicative of sexual well-being. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sexuality and intimate relationships are topics of interest to adolescents and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). However, their situation sometimes puts them at risk of being abused or developing self-harming behaviors. The purpose of this article is to develop a toolkit to support sexuality, sexual health, and sustainable sexual practices in youth with ASD. A Multimethod study based on a co-creation approach was used. Interviews were conducted with youth with ASD over the age of 18, with practitioners in a specialized setting, and with school-based practitioners in order to gain access to the different needs and expectations that they may have. Both practitioners and youth seem to agree that the lack of knowledge of youth with ASD is what most hinders their sexual development, followed by their social difficulties. They need access to the basics of sexuality in order to prevent the development of inappropriate behaviors at an early age. The kit could be used as early as age 12. The teaching methods chosen for the toolkit seems to be an adequate way to meet the need for access to basic information about sexuality for young people with ASD. The modalities also seem to be appreciated by both youth and specialist, particularly the use of custom-made pictograms. The toolkit created is a good starting point in bridging the knowledge gap for youth with ASD about sexuality. Many primates produce copulation calls, but we have surprisingly little data on what human sex sounds like. I present 34 h of audio recordings from 2239 authentic sexual episodes shared online. These include partnered sex or masturbation, but each recording has only one main vocalizer (1950 female, 289 male). Both acoustic features and arousal ratings from an online perceptual experiment with 109 listeners recruited on Prolific follow an inverted-U curve, revealing the likely time of orgasm. Sexual vocalizations become longer, louder, more high-pitched, voiced, and unpredictable at orgasm in both men and women. Men are not less vocal overall in this sample, but women start moaning at an earlier stage; speech or even minimally verbalized exclamations are uncommon. While excessive vocalizing sounds inauthentic to listeners, vocal bursts at peak arousal are ubiquitous and less verbalized than in the build-up phase, suggesting limited volitional control. Human sexual vocalizations likely include both consciously controlled and spontaneous moans of pleasure, which are perhaps best understood as sounds of liking rather than signals specific to copulation. When analyzing the 18th-century monarchic censorship of the Spanish translations of L'onanisme, written by Swiss doctor Samuel Tissot, a tension emerges between the doctors-censors and the doctors-translators because, while the first ones sought to regulate information and languages, the second ones promoted the dissemination of scientific texts on sexuality that would impact both the health of the citizens and of the nation as a whole. Regulating humors and specially semen became essential for an enlightened politics where religion, morality, hygiene, and public health were entangled. In this "spermatic economy," neither retention nor spillage were desirable; rather, a seminal regime guaranteed the moral, social, and economic health of the nation. Men and their semen became thus central for both the genetic and social reproduction of Spain, and for its economic productivity, as Spain sought to position itself in the European context.
