Abstract

An interview with Charlie Massey, chief executive of the British General Medical Council (GMC), is presented. Massey shares his thought on the concerns of general practitioners (GPs) about the fear of mistakes and the impact of the high level of workload of GPs on their ability to provide safe care. He also talks about the case of junior doctor Hadiza Bawa-Garba who was found guilty in a criminal court of gross negligence manslaughter.
