Sistem informasi kependudukan terintegrasi menggunakan KTP Elektronik (KTP-el) berbasis NodeMCU dan MySQL adalah sebuah sistem yang menggabungkan teknologi RFID dari KTP-el dengan web Sistem Informasi Kependudukan Terintegrasi (SIKT) yang terhubung dengan database MySQL. Dengan menggunakan sistem ini, masyarakat dapat dengan mudah mengakses berbagai layanan pemerintah menggunakan satu kartu tunggal (KTP-el), serta dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi dalam pelayanan publik. Perangkat pembaca KTP-el dibangun menggunakan NodeMCU, RFID-RC522, dan sebuah buzzer. Web SIKT dibangun dengan framework Codeigniter 4, menggunakan layanan aplikasi XAMPP sebagai virtual server dan MySQL sebagai Database Management System (DBMS), yang beroperasi pada jaringan lokal (localhost). Sistem ini memanfaatkan Unique Identifier (UID) pada Tag KTP-el sebagai kunci asing (foreign key) dalam database MySQL. Hasil dari sistem ini adalah KTP-el dapat digunakan sebagai kartu akses data dalam web SIKT. Data yang dikelola dalam web SIKT meliputi informasi KTP, KK, kartu NPWP, kartu BPJS, serta dokumen kependudukan lainnya. An integrated population information system using Electronic Identity Card (E-KTP) based on NodeMCU and MySQL is a system that combines RFID technology from E-KTP with the Sistem Informasi Kependudukan Terintegrasi (SIKT) website connected to a MySQL database. By using this system, citizens can easily access various government services using a single card (E-KTP) and can improve public service effectiveness and efficiency. The E-KTP reader device is built using NodeMCU, RFID-RC522, and a buzzer. The SIKT website is developed using Codeigniter 4 framework, uses XAMPP application services as a virtual server and MySQL as a Database Management System (DBMS), and operates on a local network (localhost). This system utilizes Unique Identifier (UID) on the E-KTP Tag as a foreign key in the MySQL database. The result of this system is that the E-KTP can be used as a data access card on the SIKT website. The information managed on the SIKT website includes E-KTP information, family card, NPWP card, BPJS card, and other population documents.

Solar lamp posts are nature-friendly because they utilize solar power, the cleanest and environmentally friendly energy source. Nowadays, solar energy in the generation of electricity for lamp posts is widely used. There are solar lamp posts built everywhere, especially to areas with no power grid or other lighting infrastructure. The monitoring device uses radiofrequency to transmit and receive data from one another and is displayed in the Graphic User Interface (GUI). This case will reduce the unnecessary works for technicians to manually check each solar lamp post status. The parameters observed are temperature, voltage, current, and irradiance. We can display the battery's charge and percentage status; the power generated, power loss, and solar panel efficiency. The monitoring device is installed on the solar lamp post using HC-12 transceiver module with Arduino Mega as its microcontroller. The handheld device uses Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with its touchscreen display.

In response to the neoliberal regulation of the organic agri-food sector through third-party certification (TPC), participatory guarantee systems (PGS) are advocated for their potential to promote food sovereignty, inclusivity, and grassroots empowerment. However, we show that in the Philippines, farming groups adopting PGS encounter politics that manifests as tensions and contradictions in the imagination and practice of this seemingly more transformative organic guarantee system. Based on qualitative research, we observed how some members continue to aspire for TPC resulting in cases of double certification (i.e. members having both PGS and TPC). Such contradiction encounters varying levels of contestation, which we attribute to the local particularities of the two PGS systems and the broader structural conditions that continue to privilege TPC. Rather than frame PGS as co-opted by the dominant neoliberalised organic agri-food sector, we emphasise possibilities for farmers’ autonomy in negotiating these tensions.

The long‐held redistributive function of agricultural cooperatives — one of moral economy and poverty alleviation — has changed dramatically as they emerge as core brokers for agro‐industrial development in the so‐called ‘green economy’. This article examines the changing role of cooperatives involved in brokering oil palm production and its impact upon the food security and livelihoods of smallholders who labour in plantation regimes situated in historically uneven agrarian political economies. Findings show how, increasingly, cooperatives reinforce uneven agrarian social relations of production and exchange in which indigenous smallholders experience loss of land, poor wage labour conditions tinged with insecurity and prejudice, and mounting debt in an expanding oil palm complex. The article suggests that these changes in agrarian social relations negatively influence indigenous farmers’ food security pathways, with their access to and use of appropriate foods diminishing. It asserts that understanding the impacts of cooperatives on food security pathways requires a relational and situated analysis of livelihood change and agrarian relations in extractive frontiers.

The apparent vulnerability and demise of older agriculture and lifeways looms large in frontier Southeast Asia. As upland settings are impacted by ever-intensifying agrarian change—with its pace and character transforming rapidly—poor farmers renegotiate swidden agriculture as an assemblage of practices that contends with major landscape changes. Partly countering agricultural trends (and interpretations) that suggest swidden is in inevitable demise, upland farmers pursue swidden as a varied and contingent socio-material practice that contends with intensifying environmental governance and dramatic land use changes, often in the same spaces. Drawing on assemblage theory, we provide a counter-narrative to swidden decline (as part of ‘deagrarianization’) by offering ethnographic cases from across Palawan Island, the Philippines to show how the vital nature of swidden assemblages—a complex of human and non-human relations—involves socio-material properties with agentive and productive capacity. We show specifically how indigenous farmers engage the productive capacity of swidden assemblages as the means by which to negotiate the pressures of upland transformations in the Philippines.

Recent scholarship on land grabs has begun exploring the complexity of local dynamics of land control, with emphasis on the concepts of access and exclusion and the social processes that influence these two. In this paper, I emphasize that a nuanced examination of broader social-ecological transformations would enrich our understanding of land control and exclusion. Drawing from field research in the Philippine province of Palawan, this paper examines how the combined effects of the practices of conservation enclosures, the uneven land accumulation brought about by oil palm expansion, and the use of legitimizing upland discourses all contribute to social-ecological transformations in swidden and the exclusion of indigenous smallholders from benefiting from integral forms of swidden agriculture. In Southeast Asia's green economy, conservation interventions intensify the production of resources as commodities through land sparing activities and zoning in extensively used landscapes. Such initiatives encounter problems where poor resource users diversify livelihoods in multi-functional landscapes over time. In terms of ‘livelihood bricolage’ – the mixing, matching and building of portfolios – we describe how forest users enhance security by building dynamic livelihood portfolios based on the economic and socio-cultural considerations of place. Philippine case studies show how disrupting livelihood bricolage in multi-functional landscapes with ‘intensifying interventions’ spatially constrains livelihood security and conservation objectives. We conclude that more equitable forest governance supports land sharing with diverse, extensive livelihoods in varied landscapes.

The production of rubber has encountered varied reactions among upland smallholder populations in Asia—some have cooperated while others resisted. While the general scholarship on smallholder behavior vis-a-vis rubber production has extensively examined perspectives in political economy/ecology, few have studied the role of environmental constructions, discourses and practices in elucidating spatial politics associated with rubber. This paper offers a case of indigenous smallholders’ varied response to rubber based on their multiple understandings of and practices in upland environments in the Philippines. Based on qualitative field research in one rubber-growing community in Palawan, findings suggest that many indigenous smallholders have consented the expansion of rubber production areas in fallow lands and shifting cultivation systems, but opposed expansion in tabooed forests inhabited by invisible entities. The multiple meanings indigenous populations accord to different environments correspond to variations in political reactions and land-use decisions on the ground, thus highlighting the nuances of cooperation in and resistance to boom crops production regimes.
