16. Process Petri Nets with Time Stamps and Their Using in Project Management

Abstract

Process Petri nets with time stamps (PPNTS) are the newly introduced class of low-level Petri nets, whose definition and the properties are the main topic of this chapter; they generalize the properties of Petri net processes in the area of design, modeling and verification of generally parallel systems with the discrete time. Property-preserving Petri net process algebras (PPPAs) were originally designed for the specification and verification of manufacturing systems. PPPA does not need to verify composition of Petri net processes because all their algebraic operators preserve the specified set of the properties. These original PPPAs are generalized for the class of the PPNTSs in this chapter. The new COMP, SYNC and JOIN algebraic operators are defined for the class of PPNTS and their chosen properties are proved. With the support of these operators, the PPNTSs can be extended also to the areas of project management and the determination of the project critical path with the support of the critical path method (CPM). The new CPNET subclass of PPNTS class is defined in this chapter. It is specially designed for the generalization of the CPM activity charts and their properties. This fact is then demonstrated on the simple project example and its critical path and other property specifications.

Abstract

Petri nets is the well-known mathematical tool for the modeling and verification of parallel systems of all kind. Multiprocess Petri multinets with time stamps (MPTSM) are the newly introduced class of low-level Petri nets, whose definition and the properties are the main topic of this article; they generalize the properties of P/T Petri multiprocess multinets in the area of design, modeling and verification of generally parallel programming systems with the discrete time. The MPTSM with the support of the ASYNC-CALL operation can be then applied into the area of modeling and verification of multithreading programming systems based on the actor model of objectoriented programming, where all object are represented as independent computational entities with discrete time (i.e., active objects) that only respond to the received messages. This fact will be then demonstrated on the simple example of the programming system based on the client-server architecture that is operated in the distributed system environment where all the actors are synchronized in time with the unique central time source. Abstract

Petri nets is one of mathematical modeling languages for the description of all kind of parallel systems. The new class of P/T Petri multiprocess multinets (PPMM) and its ASYNC-CALL operation are introduced in this article and their base characteristic of the well-formed property is proved. PPMM then generalize the definitions of the birelational P/T Petri nets and the P/T Petri process nets and their operators that follows from the base ideas of Petri net processes and their property-preserving Petri net process algebras (PPPA). PPPA does not need to verify the composition of the Petri net processes because all their algebraic operators preserve the specified set of the properties. The PPMM with the support of the ASYNC-CALL operation can be easily applied into the area of design, simulation and verification of multithreading programming systems based on the actor model of object-oriented programming, where all object are modeled as independent computational entities (i.e., active objects) that only respond to the received messages. 21. Vývoj informačního systému pro plánování jízd v autoškole

Abstract

Práce se zabývá analýzou, návrhem, implementací, nasazením a testováním distribuovaného informačního systému, který je určen pro rezervace termínů jízd a podporu dalších procesů v autoškole. Teoretická část práce shrnuje poznatky nutné k pochopení problematiky informačních systémů a přibližuje možné způsoby jejich vývoje. Jsou zde rovněž popsány technologie použité při vývoji informačního systému. Praktická část práce se zaměřuje na analýzu, návrh, implementaci, nasazení a testování informačního systému. Je analyzován současný stav řešení a na jeho základě jsou specifikovány uživatelské požadavky kladené na budoucí informační systém. Distribuovaný informační systém je navržen pomocí nástrojů Unified Modeling Language takovým způsobem, aby využíval dvě distribuované databáze a pracoval nad nimi prostřednictvím distribuovaných transakcí. Implementace navrženého informačního systému je provedena prostřednictvím programovacího jazyka Java jako aplikace s architekturou Model-View-Controller. Implementace ke svým zdrojům přistupuje prostřednictvím Adresářových služeb. Při vývoji jsou použity standardy HTML5 a CSS3. Implementovaný systém je nasazen prostřednictvím Platform as a Service cloudové služby a je tak zpřístupněn svým uživatelům ve formě responzivní webové aplikace. Implementovaný informační systém umožňuje studentům autoškoly po přihlášení do aplikace rezervovat se na termíny praktických jízd. Systém dále slouží instruktorům autoškoly k prohlížení rozpisů jejich naplánovaných jízd. Referentovi autoškoly systém umožňuje jednoduše spravovat agendu spojenou s vedením autoškoly, a to především evidenci studentů, evidenci plateb za kurz, evidenci plateb za zmeškané jízdy nebo evidenci automobilů. Systém slouží také pro přihlašování studentů k závěrečné zkoušce. Na závěr práce jsou navrženy a provedeny vhodně zvolené jednotkové a systémové testy, které ověřují správnost funkcionalit implementovaného distribuovaného informačního systému., In general terms, the thesis deals with analyzing, designing, implementing, deploying and a software testing of a distributed information system which is primarily intended as a tool to schedule driving lessons and additionally to support various other administrative procedures in driving school. The theoretical part summarizes all necessary knowledge essentially important for being able to understand what principles information systems are based on and briefly outlines the way they might be developed. This part is concluded with the description of the technologies used for the development of this particular information system. The empiric part opens up with the actual analysis of the information system, being followed by the process of its designing, implementing, deploying and testing. The current state of processes in driving school is analyzed and user requirements for analyzed information system are specified. Distributed information system is designed using the Unified Modeling Language in such a way as to be able to work with two distributed databases using distributed transactions. The submitted information system, written in Java programming language, is implemented by means of an application with the Model-View-Controller architecture. The distributed system has access to its resources via Directory Services. The standards, namely HTML5 and CSS3, are used in the development. The Information system runs on a Cloud computing Platform as a Service and due to this is available online to its users as an interactive web application. Upon logging in, the system allows students of driving school to schedule and book the time of their practice lessons. In addition, driving instructors may have a look and browse through, having a clear vision of all pre-scheduled lessons. On top of that, a driving school referent can use it to manage all matters needed; such as students records as well as the class payments, missed lesson payments or cars registration agenda. 22. Recording, Publication, Testing and Evaluation of Quantitative Knowledge in e-Learning Environment.

Abstract

One of the burning questions in majority of universities in the Czech Republic is maintaining and increasing the teaching process quality at permanently growing interest in university studies. Implementation of eLearning technologies indeed has been of a great assistance while addressing the stated issue however it is obvious, that conventional text study supports cannot fully substitute direct or mediated interactions of teaching staff with student. The complex rich-media visualization of the tutorial process becomes the absolute necessity for the overall transfer of information from the teacher to students. The issue of key aspects of implementing rich-media technologies at VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic is dealt with the MERLINGO Project (MEdia-rich Repository of LearnING Objects). Using rich-media technologies allows to carry out automated complete records of the whole educational process with minimum demands on financial, time, personnel and technological costs and to achieve their immediate access in the environment of LMS Moodle. Testing, evaluation or practicing students' knowledge especially in quantitative subjects such as mathematics or statistics can be also facilitated using LMS Moodle. The module Test, which is a standard part of commonly used e-learning environment LMS Moodle, is not very suitable for developing mathematical or statistical tests because it contains only a limited number of functions that can be used for creating quantitative tasks. At VŠB - TU Ostrava we have chosen the R language and Sweave and Exams libraries for generating quantitative tasks. Texts of tasks are created in the markup language LaTeX. Using the Exams library the tasks can be compiled and exported to PDF format or Moodle XML format. The eLearning methods described above entail a number of both technical and didactic problems and difficulties. The paper pointed out some of these problems and how the authors have dealt with them. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá návrhem a řešením internetové diskuze pro portál MERLINGO. První část se věnuje teoretickým poznatkům v oblasti tvorby webů a vývoje webových aplikací na platformě Java ve spolupráci s databázovým serverem. Další část popisuje požadavky zadavatele a posouzení reálnosti těchto požadavků. Poslední část se věnuje návrhu uživatelského rozhraní, řešení datové základny a programové implementaci. Je zde zahrnuto ošetření zranitelností v oblasti uživatelských vstupů - tzv. SQL injekce a escapování., This bachelor thesis describes the draft and solution of internet discussion for the MERLINGO portal. The first part deals with theoretical knowledge in the field of web design and development of web application on Java platform in cooperation with the database server. The next part describes the client requirements and assessment of the feasibility of these requirements. The last part describes the user interface draft, data base solution and program implementation. 24. Sequential Petri Nets and their use in the APGAS programming model in HPC environment representation.

Abstract

The Asynchrony Partitioned Global Address Space (APGAS) programming model is widely used in the HPC environment and is implemented in the programming language X10. Sequential Petri nets are the newly introduced class of Petri nets, the properties of which are the main topic of this paper; they feature certain new and original concepts and can be successfully used in the design, modelling and verification of multithreading programming systems executed in a highly parallel or distributed environment. In this paper, the basic characteristics of sequential Petri nets are very briefly presented, including their possibilities in the definition of newly introduced tokens as non-empty finite sequences over the set of non-negative integer numbers and the mechanism of the multiarcs that significantly increase the modelling capabilities especially of this class of Petri nets. Sequential Petri nets can also be used in the area of modelling the programming systems based APGAS programming model and in the functional programming paradigm and this fact is demonstrated in the examples. Sequential Petri nets are also the initial step in the definition of sequential object Petri nets within the framework of which all the paradigms of object-oriented and functional programming can be explicitly represented. 25. Automation of Presentation Record Production Based on Rich-Media Technology Using SNT Petri Nets Theory.

Abstract

Rich-media describes a broad range of digital interactive media that is increasingly used in the Internet and also in the support of education. Last year, a special pilot audiovisual lecture room was built as a part of the MERLINGO (MEdia-rich Repository of LearnING Objects) project solution. It contains all the elements of the modern lecture room determined for the implementation of presentation recordings based on the rich-media technologies and their publication online or on-demand featuring the access of all its elements in the automated mode including automatic editing. Property-preserving Petri net process algebras (PPPA) were designed for the specification and verification of the Petri net processes. PPPA does not need to verify the composition of the Petri net processes because all their algebraic operators preserve the specified set of the properties. These original PPPA are significantly generalized for the newly introduced class of the SNT Petri process and agent nets in this paper. The PLACE-SUBST and ASYNC-PROC algebraic operators are defined for this class of Petri nets and their chosen properties are proved. The SNT Petri process and agent nets theory were significantly applied at the design, verification, and implementation of the programming system ensuring the pilot audiovisual lecture room functionality.
