In this study we investigate the heat load patterns in one building using multi-step forecasting model. We combine the Autoregressive models that use multiple eXogenous variables (ARX) with Seasonally adaptable Time of Week and Climate dependent models (S-TOW-C) (to correct model inaccuracies), to obtain a robust and accurate regression model that we called S-TOW-C-ARX used in time series forecasting. Based on the experiment results, it has been shown that the proposed model is suitable for short term heat load forecasting. The best forecasting performance is achieved in winter term where the prediction values are from 4 to 20 % away from the targets, which are commonly seen as very good values.

In recent years, computer simulations are playing a fundamental role in unveiling some of the most intriguing features of prime numbers. In this work, we define an algorithm for a deterministic walk through a two-dimensional grid that we refer to as Prime Walk. The walk is constructed from a sequence of steps dictated by and dependent on the sequence of last digits of the primes. Despite the apparent randomness of this generating sequence, the resulting structure -- both in 2d and 3d -- created by the algorithm presents remarkable properties and regularities in its pattern that we proceed to analyze in detail., Comment: 7 pages, 7 figures

Prime numbers are one of the most intriguing figures in mathematics. Despite centuries of research, many questions remain still unsolved. In recent years, computer simulations are playing a fundamental role in the study of an immense variety of problems. In this work, we present a simple representation of prime numbers in two dimensions that allows us to formulate a number of conjectures that may lead to important avenues in the field of research on prime numbers. In particular, although the zeroes in our representation grow in a somewhat erratic, hardly predictable way, the gaps between them present a remarkable and intriguing property: a clear exponential decay in the frequency of gaps vs gap size. The smaller the gaps, the more frequently they appear. We compute the contributions to rare top decays $t\rightarrow cZ$ and $t\rightarrow ch_1$ from the scalar sector in the 2HDM type III with CP violation, where $h_1$ is the Standard Model Higgs boson. The branching ratio for $BR(t\rightarrow c Z)$ and $BR(t\rightarrow c h_1)$ are obtained as a function of the model parameters. In particular, the $BR(t\rightarrow c Z)$ can increase its value up to $10^{-3}$ for $\tan\beta= 1$ and masses for the additional Higgs bosons of $m_{h_2,h_3,H^\pm}\sim 0.5$ TeV. Meanwhile $BR(t\rightarrow c h_1)$ can reach values of the order of $\sim10^{-2}$. We constrain the model parameters (mixing angles of the neutral scalar fields in the CP violation context and $\tan\beta$) using the reported values of the signal strengths $R_{XX}$ and $b \rightarrow s \gamma$ process., Comment: 19 pages, 12 figures

We compute the one-loop contributions from a color octet scalar to the tensor anomalous couplings of top and bottom quarks to gluons, photons and W bosons. This research explores the potential to analyze bank card payments and ATM cash withdrawals in order to map and quantify how people are impacted by and recover from natural disasters. Our approach defines a disaster-affected community's economic recovery time as the time needed to return to baseline activity levels in terms of number of bank card payments and ATM cash withdrawals. For Hurricane Odile, which hit the state of Baja California Sur (BCS) in Mexico between 15 and 17 September 2014, we measured and mapped communities' economic recovery time, which ranged from 2 to 40 days in different locations. We found that -- among individuals with a bank account -- the lower the income level, the shorter the time needed for economic activity to return to normal levels. Gender differences in recovery times were also detected and quantified. In addition, our approach evaluated how communities prepared for the disaster by quantifying expenditure growth in food or gasoline before the hurricane struck. We believe this approach opens a new frontier in measuring the economic impact of disasters with high temporal and spatial resolution, and in understanding how populations bounce back and adapt., Comment: Presented at the Data For Good Exchange 2016
