Abstract

This work on renovascular hypertension was initiated in an attempt to answer several questions. First, why does plasma renin activity return to normal levels within 24–48 h after producing one-kidney, one-clip Goldblatt hypertension in the dog? Second, why do some patients maintain normal plasma renin activity and blood pressure despite developing severe renovascular occlusion?
