LIII CICA (Conferencias Internacionales sobre Conflicto y Agresión) / Jornadas Internacionales 2020 sobre violencia y salud mental, organizadas por el Grupo de Investigación Complutense "Psicosociobiología de la violencia: educación y prevención" junto con la Fundación CICA Internacional y la Cátedra Global Nebrija-Santander sobre Gestión de Riesgos y Conflictos, con el apoyo de Vicerrectorado de Centros y Departamentos y del Departamento de Estudios Educativos de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, pretenden un intercambio científico y humanístico entre los miembros del Grupo y otros reconocidos profesionales a nivel nacional e internacional que actualmente trabajan en distintas temáticas relacionadas. Con las jornadas se pretende enfatizar el papel de la educación en la salvaguarda y la promoción de la salud mental, así como en la prevención de la violencia y en el fomento de la convivencia. En las mismas se abordarán importantes aspectos tales como: la conceptualización de la salud mental, el trastorno mental y la violencia, el impacto de la violencia en la salud física y mental, la educación para la salud mental, la prevención pedagógica de riesgos psíquicos, el estigma y la enfermedad mental, la salud mental y la violencia hospitalaria en perspectiva histórica, etc. Programa de mano que recoge información sobre las jornadas, las presentaciones de las ponencias, con los resúmenes y bibliografías, así como el listado y descripción de los participantes y miembros de los grupos.

XLI CICA (Conferencias Internacionales sobre Conflicto y Agresión), on Mapping the Cyberspace, held in Madrid from 1st to 3rd June 2016, and co-organized by the Nebrija-Santander Chair for Analysis and Resolution of Conflicts (Center for Conflict Studies) and the Spanish Pugwash National Group. [...] The present 41st CICA has chosen as a main goal another of the main threats mentioned by 2010 Strategic Concept for the Defense and Security of the Members of the NATO, as well as by the Spanish government: cyberthreats. More specifically, it focuses on the current knowledge and research on Cyber-Security - Mapping the Cyberspace, emphasizing not only its eventual "negative" challenge as a threat to security, but also its positive influence as an efficient tool for defense as well as a welcome new factor for economic and industrial production. Bibliografía: p. 45-48 : Abstract: The present study analyzes some factors associated with violence in pre-adolescents and adolescents, such as their self-rated aggression, the defensive or instrumental function of aggression, and the degree of violence perceived in others and their surroundings, namely family, friends and peers, neighborhood, city and world. Several self-report tests on aggression [Aggression Questionnaire (AQ), Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS), State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI-2), and an ad-hoc self-report developed by us (Self Appraisal Report (SAR))] were administered to 2110 subjects of both sexes between 9 and 17 years of age. Those subjects who perceived themselves as violent obtained significantly higher rates in aggression, impulsivity and anger, and believed that their surrounding was more violent than their self-rated non-violent ones did. Finally, they also showed a higher justification of violence, attributing it as a possible instrumental function. The best predictors of self-rated violence in the present study were the AQ physical aggressivity, the BIS motor impulse scale, and the STAXI expression index. Disponible en formato .pdf

Bibliografía: p. 14 : Abstract: One of the best strategies of working with conflict is its prevention. Several practical suggestions on how we can know our neighbors better and have a personal engagement in dialogue between people of different cultures are shared in this paper with the hope of achieving world peace through little steps in the elimination of conflicts and prevention of violence. These tips include interchange of information about our respective cultures, use of the internet and other technical mass media, travelling and living together, mastering other languages, ecumenical approaches to others' religions, etc.

Bibliografía: p. 21-22 : Abstract: The Questionnaire on Moral Attitudes toward Aggression (CAMA) focuses on moral attitudes toward aggression by asking respondents to rate combinations of different aggressive actions and situations in which these actions might be shown according to their respective justifiableness. Since its first applications by Lagerspetz and Westman in 1980, it has been used in numerous cross-cultural studies across four continents for more than thirty years. The purpose of the studies here presented was to evaluate its applicability in a new cultural context, assessing if CAMA’s data obtained in two different age cohorts from the German cultural context measured the same theoretical construct previously investigated across the other cultures (structural equivalence). In the present studies 117 German university students (age range 19-38) and 141 German senior citizens (age range 60-94) were asked to complete a German translation of the CAMA. The structural equivalence was assessed by evaluating the fit of German data on previous factor structures via confirmatory factor analysis. A multi-group approach was being used to ascertain CAMA’s applicability across different age groups. The structural fit was accessed by referring to factor structures that were derived from previous studies in the USA, Spain, Japan, and Hong Kong. These factor structures include separate three-factor models for types of aggressive actions and different two-factor models for situations in which these actions might be shown. The results from both age groups of German population indicate the structural equivalence for the two factor models regarding defensive vs. non-defensive situations that justify aggressive actions. The equivalence for previous three-factor models regarding types of aggressive actions could not be shown in the German samples. Hence, adaptations concerning the assessment and theoretical models of the justification of aggressive actions in the German cultural context are being discussed.
