Social work prides itself as a profession committed to improving the lives of people who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty. Achieving this mission requires candid conversations about racism as a social justice and public health issue and the role of social work in dismantling white supremacy and promoting racial justice. At its core, research on social work practice and policy should focus on examining how racism and inequality undermine the health, well-being, and social mobility of diverse and marginalized populations. We write this statement as a call to social work researchers to prioritize pursuits that will surface and motivate action to address the causes and consequences of racism. We also call on researchers to renew their commitment to scholarship that alleviates the suffering in Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color.

International audience; Triaxial Strongly Deformed (TSD) band structures have been observed in several LuHf-Ta isotopes in the A∼165 region. The occurrence of TSD bands in Lu (Z=71) and Hf (Z=72) isotopes is not consistent with predicted proton and neutron shell gaps, probably due to inadequate knowledge of energies of high-j orbitals at large triaxiality. Based on calculated shell gaps, among the Lu isotopes, 165Lu94 and 168Lu97 are good candidates for TSD structures. However, the strongest TSD band in 163Lu92 is observed to be three times more strongly populated than the corresponding one in 165Lu94, and TSD structures have not yet been observed in 168Lu97. Further, no TSD bands have been observed in 166Hf94, which is located at the centre of the predicted TSD island. The above observations appear to indicate that, at large triaxiality, TSD structures may be favored at N=92 than at N=94. Calculations by R. Bengtsson indicate that TSD band in 166W, with a positive γ value should become yrast at spin, I∼44~. The aforesaid systematic calculations of TSD and Normal Deformed (ND) structures in Hf, Yb and W isotopes further suggest that the N=92 isotones in these three elements have higher excitation energies at normal deformation in the spin range of 30-50 ~ [1]. So, the favorable position of TSD bands in the N=92 isotones may be an outcome of the fact that the band at normal deformation goes up in energy for this neutron number. There were two previous measurements to study high-spin states in 166W. In the first measurement, a 28Si beam was used by Gerl et al. [2] and four HPGe detectors were used to record data. In the second measurement by Simpson et al. [3], the p2n reaction channel was used, and the deexciting γ rays were detected using the POLYTESSA array. The positive-parity yrast band was observed up to an excitation energy of 9 MeV, and spin, I = 30~, well below where possible TSD bands are expected to be yrast. Two other negativeparity rotational bands were also reported up to spin, I = 23~.

The atomic nucleus and its electrons are often thought of as independent systems that are held together in the atom by their mutual attraction. Their interaction, however, leads to other important effects, such as providing an additional decay mode for excited nuclear states, whereby the nucleus releases energy by ejecting an atomic electron instead of by emitting a 3-ray. This 'internal conversion' has been known for about a hundred years and can be used to study nuclei and their interaction with their electrons. In the inverse process - nuclear excitation by electron capture (NEEC) - a free electron is captured into an atomic vacancy and can excite the nucleus to a higher-energy state, provided that the kinetic energy of the free electron plus the magnitude of its binding energy once captured matches the nuclear energy difference between the two states. NEEC was predicted in 1976 and has not hitherto been observed. Here we report evidence of NEEC in molybdenum-93 and determine the probability and cross-section for the process in a beam-based experimental scenario. Our results provide a standard for the assessment of theoretical models relevant to NEEC, which predict cross-sections that span many orders of magnitude. The greatest practical effect of the NEEC process may be on the survival of nuclei in stellar environments, in which it could excite isomers (that is, long-lived nuclear states) to shorter-lived states. Such excitations may reduce the abundance of the isotope after its production. This is an example of 'isomer depletion', which has been investigated previously through other reactions, but is used here to obtain evidence for NEEC.

This is the sixth special report that the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation regularly publishes on the current practice and indications for haematopoietic SCT for haematological diseases, solid tumours and immune disorders in Europe. Major changes have occurred in the field of haematopoietic SCT over the last years. Cord blood units as well as haploidentical donors have been increasingly used as stem cell sources for allo-SCT, thus, augmenting the possibility of finding a suitable donor for a patient. Continuous refinement of conditioning strategies has also expanded not only the number of potential indications but also has permitted consideration of older patients or those with co-morbidity for a transplant. There is accumulating evidence of the role of haematopoietic SCT in non-haematological disorders such as autoimmune diseases. On the other hand, the advent of new drugs and very effective targeted therapy has challenged the role of SCT in some instances or at least, modified its position in the treatment armamentarium of a given patient. An updated report with revised tables and operating definitions is presented.

Excited states of Hf163 were populated using the Zr94(Ge74,5n) reaction and the decay γ rays were measured with the Gammasphere spectrometer. Two previously known bands were extended to higher spins, and nine new bands were identified. In addition to bands associated with three- and five-quasiparticle configurations, two γ-vibrational bands coupled to the i13/2 excitation were also observed. The lowest level of a newly identified, negative-parity band is proposed to be the ground state of the nucleus. A systematic delay of the high-spin proton crossing frequency with increasing quadrupole deformation from Hf162 to Hf172 was established. Extensive band searches failed to reveal a triaxial, strongly deformed structure in Hf163 similar to the one observed in several nuclei around A∼165.

Two new rotational bands of distinct character have been identified in 164Hf. They are suggested to correspond to the long-anticipated triaxial strongly deformed (TSD) bands predicted by theoretical studies. The bands have been linked to known states, and the level spins and energies could be determined. The bands are also substantially stronger in intensity and are located at lower spins than the previously observed TSD bands in 168Hf, hereby making 164Hf the best even-even system so far for the study of TSD structures in the A∼160 mass region. Cranking calculations based on the modified-oscillator model suggest that the bands are associated with four-quasiparticle configurations that involve high-j intruder (i13/2)2 proton orbitals.
