Hepatic hemangiomas are the most common benign tumors of the liver and are often asymptomatic, diagnosed incidentally. They are considered giant when they exceed 5 cm at their largest diameter. Giant hepatic hemangiomas are rare. Diagnosis is essentially based on imaging (CT, MRI). Spontaneous or traumatic rupture, intratumor hemorrhage, rapid growth, diagnostic uncertainty and coagulopathy are the main indications for surgery. We present the case of a 53-year-old woman with two hepatic hemangiomas, the largest of which occupies the entire left lobe and measures 17 cm in diameter. It is not known how long the tumor had been growing. She underwent surgical management due to obvious mass effect.

Psoas abscess is a rare disease with various etiologies. The most common pathogen in primary abscess is Staphylo coccus aureus. Crohns disease is the most common cause of secondary abscess. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is considered an extremely rare cause of psoas abscess, The clinical manifestation is insidious, the classic symptoms are pain and fever. Computed tomography (CT) is the gold standard in the diagnosis and follow-up of retroperitoneal abscesses. The treatment of choice is percutaneous drainage guided by imagery. Surgical drainage should be reserved for cases of failure of percutaneous drainage, if possible via the extraperitoneal route, but in the event of a secondary abscess, the transperitoneal approach is preferred to correct the original disease.

Acute intestinal invagination is the pathology of infants and small children. Its occurrence in adults is rare, and it represents 1 to 5% of intestinal occlusions often leading to the discovery of an organic cause that may be tumor. We report the case of a 72-year-old patient admitted to the emergency room of Ibn Sina Rabat, Morocco, for intestinal occlusion. The abdominal CT scan showed a voluminous intestinal invagination on a very probable heterogeneous digestive mass. The treatment was an open right hemicolectomy. The histopathological examination of the surgical specimen concluded a colonic well-differentiated adenocarcinoma with a 30% mucinous component. By review of literature, we discuss diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in emergency.

Duodenal lipoma is a rare location of visceral lipomas, most are found incidentally via endoscopy or surgery and usually are asymptomatic. We report the case of a 58-year-old patient with an active bleeding duodenal lipoma. Although endoscopic treatment was scheduled initially, surgical intervention ultimately was indicated due to large size of tumor.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and remains a health problem, especially in developing countries. Abdominal location represents 5 to 10% of all locations. The clinical symptoms are not very specific, and the discovery of an abdominal mass in a context of deterioration of general state may wrongly lead to the diagnosis of a tumor. Radiological explorations remain sensitive in the detection of abdominal masses but they cannot prejudge their etiology. Surgical exploration is sometimes the only recourse either for diagnostic purposes or complications, and the diagnosis can only be confirmed by bacteriological and histological examinations of the surgical specimen. We report the case of abdominopelvic mass and lymph nodes revealing tuberculosis.

Hydatidosis of the psoas is an unusual entity even in countries endemic to hydatid disease. We reported a rare case of hydatid cyst of psoas in a 54 year old man without pathological history. The atypical clinical presentation and the uncharacterizable radiology have demonstrated the essential role of surgery and histological analysis in the management of this type of lesion. The patient underwent a resection of the protruding dome with drainage of the residual cavity because of the anatomical relationships of this hydatid cyst. Through this case and literature review, we aimed to discuss the diagnostic means, the natural course of the disease, the differential diagnoses as well as the therapeutic options for a hydatid cyst of the psoas.

Introduction: Ileosigmoidal knotting (ISK) is the wrapping of the ileum around the sigmoid colon and its mesentery or vice-versa and is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction in immediate postpartum. Observation: We report a case of ileo-sigmoid volvulus with intestinal necrosis; in which the diagnosis of the ISK was only made during surgical exploration. The treatment consisted in resection of gangrenous small bowel and performed small bowel anastomosis with sigmoidopexy and the postoperative course was uneventful. Through this case, we would like to discuss the diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic aspects of this rare entity with a literature review. Conclusion: The rapid progression to intestinal necrosis of this type of postpartum occlusion is responsible for high maternal-fetal mortality, which requires rapid and adequate surgical management.
