There is no doubt that the digitalization of the labour activity, along with its positive influence has a negative impact on employees. Nevertheless, the issues of assessing the impact of these processes on employees’ well-being have not yet received sufficient attention in HRM research and practice. The relationship between the digital transformation of the labour, as well as HRM practices and employees’ well-being is examined in the paper. The research methodology involves the analysis of data obtained by means of literature review, sociological surveys, narrative and descriptive analysis. The results of our study identify the problematic issues resulting from expanding the practice of applying digital technologies in HRM system, proving the negative impact of digitalization processes on employee well-being (along with positive effects), and, therefore, the need to develop management solutions aimed at preserving well-being in the workplace.

The concept of smart-working is increasingly attracting the interest of both practitioners in the field of human resource management and the research community. Despite this, the use of “smart-working” is not just related to efficiency, but implies a change in mentality and working methods, and improving work processes. This research uses the narrative analysis methodology to study the experience of employees directly involved in the experimental introduction of smart-working at one of the largest Italian telecommunications companies. Due to the narrative collected the authors analyze the current status of changes occurred at the company due to the implementation of smart-working, the need for changes in work processes and the employees’ willingness to take an active part in transforming the labor organization, as well as different employee attitudes towards changing work processes.

Significant changes in the external environment (including economic, social, political, technological areas) affected not only the transformation of business models and customer experience, but also internal processes of the company and in particular the organization of work and workplace. Along with this, it is important to highlight that a new generation entered in the world of work. Some recent studies claim that the new generation of workers have very high expectations of their working life. The main objective of the study presented in the paper is to explore the expectations of new generation of three main pillars of digital transformation: 1) new digital customer journey, 2) new ways of working in digital environments, 3) the usage of new platform-oriented business model in the role of consumer and worker. In order to analyze the phenomenon a survey has been elaborated and conducted. The results of the study are very important for the enterprises in the transition to the new organizational paradigm based on the digital transformation of the customer experience, internal operations and work organizations, as well as adaptation of business models to the new conditions.

The dominating trend in the labour sphere development today is a social pollution from the economic activities of companies, which has a negative impact on labour relations. Reducing the social pollution level is hampered by the lack of scientifically grounded information and methodological support for monitoring, analysing and evaluating the social pollution factors and processes. The purpose of this research is identifying through an in-depth study the types and forms of toxic labour relations in countries with different economic models, as well as the development of new concepts and management tools for meeting the challenges of the decline of the social pollution level. In order to identify the scope and characteristics of toxic labour relations, a long-term monitoring study using quantitative and qualitative methods, including narrative analysis was conducted. In 2015–2017 toxic labour relations were examined in separate countries. Based on the results of the comparative analysis of narratives collected in the countries under study, factors of social pollution of the labour sphere in the part of labour relations between employers, managers and employees were identified, and the cause-effect relationships between toxic HRM practices and employees well-being were investigated. Perception and evaluative judgments of the informants allowed the researchers to get an understanding of the qualitative characteristics of the toxic labour relations.

E-learning technologies represent important instruments for teaching. New technologies play a big role in the financial education of citizens and employees’ training activities. In recent years in the banking sector digital tools for education programmes are available in growing numbers and play a significant role. In fact, after the financial crisis, many banks have offered not only online training to their employees but also to their clients, both real and potential. The objective of this approach is to help banks’ customers to understand some fundamental financial concepts and the risks of some financial operations. Given this framework, the aim of this paper is to provide an exploratory research of the online training courses and initiatives developed by the banking sector institutions and addressed to both their employees and their real and potential clients. The paper provides a preliminary analysis of the programmes based on the experience of an Italian bank.

Information technology infrastructure has a crucial role in improving Supply Chain Management (SCM) capability and in supply chain strategy. The increase in the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) reduce interaction and transaction costs and has an influence on logistics, procurement, vendor relationship management, and customer relationship management. In this perspective, the e-tools have stimulated and changed the supply chain. The paper in a first phase analyses the main literature on Service Dominant Logic and Dialogue-Access-Risk Benefits-Transparency (DART) framework in order to investigate how the academics and practitioners put this framework in action in the international scenario in Supply Chain Management. The last phase discloses a case study where the ICT are pervasive, the approach of the procurement process has changed. Through a case study focalized on e-procurement in a multinational enterprise that operates in the chemical-pharmaceutical sector, the research aims to highlight the coherence of e-tools with DART perspective.
