Multiple myeloma (MM) is a very heterogeneous disease with multiple symptoms and clinical manifestations. MM affects mainly elderly patients and is difficult to manage in the presence of comorbidities, polypharmacy, frailty and adverse events of disease-targeted drugs. The rapid changes in MM treatment resulting from constant innovations in this area, together with the introduction of numerous new drugs with distinct mechanisms of action and toxicity profiles, have led to an increased complexity in the therapeutic decision-making and patient management processes. The prolonged exposure to novel agents, sometimes in combination with conventional therapies, makes this management even more challenging. A careful balance between treatment efficacy and its tolerability should be considered for every patient. During treatment, a close monitoring of comorbidities, disease-related manifestations and treatment side effects is recommended, as well as a proactive approach, with reinforcement of information and patient awareness for the early recognition of adverse events, allowing prompt therapeutic adjustments. In this review, we discuss various issues that must be considered in the treatment of MM patients, while giving practical guidance for monitoring, prevention and management of myeloma-related manifestations and treatment-related toxicities.

RESUMO O tráfico humano, assunto fortemente midiatizado na virada dos anos 2000 e 2010, voltou a ter repercussão pública em âmbito nacional durante a campanha política para a presidência da República em 2022, na fala de Damares Alves, correligionária do então candidato à reeleição Jair Bolsonaro. Neste artigo, analisamos a potência sedutora da temática e mostramos o efeito desastroso de entendimentos moralizantes a respeito do deslocamento de mulheres para a inserção no mercado sexual. Nossa perspectiva encontra estudos antropológicos como, por exemplo, os de Jo Doezema, Adriana Piscitelli e Marcia Sprandel. Analisamos inquéritos policiais e processos criminais datados de entre 1995 e 2012 - período em que o tráfico de pessoas para exploração sexual se tornou uma questão no Brasil -, motivados pela seguinte provocação: se todos somos contra a exploração sexual, o que temos em comum com Damares Alves?

Com base nas entrevistas realizadas com duas feministas que têm suas trajetórias envolvidas, ao mesmo tempo, com a academia e com a política institucional, buscamos traçar uma cartografia de mulheres argentinas que estiveram e estão dentro do campo político, que abrange desde a militância feminista até as candidaturas e os mandatos para cargos públicos, passando pelo vínculo com partidos políticos. No momento em que este artigo é escrito, Dora Barrancos é assessora direta do presidente da Argentina, Alberto Fernández, e já foi candidata a senadora. Fernanda Gil Lozano é diretora do Centro Internacional para a Promoção de Direitos Humanos da UNESCO no país, e já foi deputada federal. As visões amplas e as experiências políticas dessas mulheres, ao serem narradas, abrem possibilidades de reflexão sobre a conformação do campo político argentino em termos de gênero e raça, a partir de suas percepções sobre as mulheres políticas nas arenas compostas pela esquerda, mas também pela direita argentina. Quais são os lugares dessas mulheres nos seus partidos políticos? São elas apoiadas, instrumentalizadas ou invisibilizadas no sistema argentino de listas fechadas de candidatos? Estas são algumas questões sobre as quais queremos refletir.

Através de uma pesquisa narrativa (Galvão, 2005), chegamos a essa escrita, uma narrativa de si, que detalha a experiência escolar, a trajetória de vida e o percurso do ofício de ensinar de uma professora de História. Esta escrita tem por objetivo demonstrar que a escrita autobiográfica pode ser um objeto de análise sobre a construção do fazer docente. As leituras sobre as narrativas de si têm como base Bolsanello (2017), Passeggi (2011), Arfuch (2010), além das leituras sobre educação e o saber docente baseadas em Freire (1989, 1996) e Gatti et al. (2019), que ajudaram neste processo de pensar o percurso docente e as histórias que preenchem esta trajetória. A narrativa autobiográfica docente (escrita de si ou memorial acadêmico) possibilita observar como se constitui o fazer docente e quais as características, especificidades e dilemas perpassam a trajetória de vida da pessoa, sendo, portanto, um elemento muito rico de análise para o campo da formação docente.

Abstract Background Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a leading cause of disability worldwide. Approximately one-third of patients with MDD do not respond to treatment, and often exhibit elevated inflammation biomarkers, which are associated with worse prognosis. Previous research has linked healthier dietary patterns, such as the Mediterranean Diet (MedDiet), with a lower risk of MDD and symptoms of depression, potentially due to their anti-inflammatory properties. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a nutritional counselling intervention promoting MedDiet to alleviate symptoms of depression in adults recently diagnosed with MDD and presenting with elevated inflammation biomarkers. Methods This study is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) that will recruit adults from outpatient clinics, between the ages of 18 and 70 years who have been diagnosed with MDD and are currently receiving treatment with the first prescribed antidepressant, and who exhibit elevated inflammation biomarkers (interleukin-6 and/or C-reactive protein). The control group will receive treatment-as-usual (TAU) only. The primary outcome of the study will be the change in symptoms of depression, as measured by the Beck Depression Inventory 2 (BDI-II), after 12 weeks of intervention. Data analysis will follow an intention-to-treat approach. Secondary outcomes will include changes in inflammation biomarkers, quality of life, adherence to the MedDiet, and cost-effectiveness of nutritional counselling. All outcomes will be assessed at baseline, after the 12-week intervention, and at 6- and 12-months post-baseline. Discussion This study will be the first RCT to evaluate the effect of a nutritional intervention with anti-inflammatory properties, as an adjuvant in the treatment of MDD, in individuals diagnosed with MDD and elevated inflammation biomarkers. The results of this study may contribute to the development of more effective and personalized interventions for MDD patients with elevated inflammation biomarkers.

Resumo: O presente texto procura discutir como as mobilizações antigênero em contexto escolar, tanto em nível global quanto local, movimentaram um ímpeto “restaurador” de valores morais na sociedade, por parte de fundamentalistas religiosos e políticos. Para esse intento, vale-se de textos do Vaticano e de projetos de lei de políticos brasileiros, nos quais esses discursos explicitam a autoridade familiar na educação dos seus filhos, conforme suas convicções morais e religiosas. Evidencia-se também o receio mobilizado por um ressentimento em relação à uma ideologia que “destruiria a família heterossexual”. O dispositivo da “ideologia de gênero” nas escolas seria essa ameaça e provoca, como reação, uma tentativa de “restauração” de um homem ocidental.

Abstract Background The coordination between different levels of care is essential for the management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The objective of this multicenter project was to develop a screening model for OSA in the primary care setting. Methods Anthropometric data, clinical history, and symptoms of OSA were recorded in randomly selected primary care patients, who also underwent a home sleep apnea test (HSAT). Respiratory polygraphy or polysomnography were performed at the sleep unit to establish definite indication for continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). By means of cross-validation, a logistic regression model (CPAP yes/no) was designed, and with the clinical variables included in the model, a scoring system was established using the β coefficients (PASHOS Test). In a second stage, results of HSAT were added, and the final accuracy of the model was assessed. Results 194 patients completed the study. Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar uma análise sobre as tentativas de formação de alianças entre o movimento homossexual e o movimento negro no final da década de 1970. A partir da análise do jornal Lampião da Esquina (1978-1981) e do boletim O Corpo, vinculado ao primeiro grupo político homossexual organizado, denominado Somos, investigou-se quais foram as iniciativas de formação de alianças entre esses dois movimentos, as interseccionalidades, assim como os limites. Pretende-se compreender se foi possível ou não pensar a raça e a sexualidade como elementos constitutivos e inseparáveis em ambas as militâncias.

Resumo Neste artigo abordamos as relações dos feminismos no Brasil com as forças e discursos políticos de esquerda e de direita que emergiram, de maneira massiva, a partir do início do milênio, e que têm sido identificadas como populismos. No contexto da chamada “maré rosa”, o Brasil viveu, de 2004 a 2016, quatro governos eleitos a partir de um grande apelo ao popular e às políticas sociais de inclusão das camadas menos favorecidas da sociedade. A partir do Golpe parlamentar e midiático de 2016, revestido por um processo de impeachment da Presidenta Dilma Roussef, outras forças políticas emergiram no cenário, com um cunho conservador de direita. Feminismos também emergiram nesse contexto com muita visibilidade, especialmente a partir de 2011, em manifestações e organizações bastante diversificadas como as Marchas das Vadias, as Marchas das Margaridas (camponesas), ocupações em escolas e universidades, a Marcha das Mulheres Negras, a Primavera Feminista, a greve de mulheres 8M, entre outras. Nosso objetivo é refletir sobre os desafios dos feminismos nos embates com essas forças políticas de esquerda ou direita, e seu papel político no Brasil contemporâneo a partir de um olhar da história do tempo presente.

The present article discuss the questions around the written of women artists history in Brazil, since the critic feminism viewpoint of art history. In addition to upsdate the Bra-zilian case, we intend show the application by the theories responsibles for discuss one androcentric arte history by way an specific research about de painter Inah D’Ávila Costa (1915-1998). The subject that shows here focus on the 1980s in Brazil, character-ized, at the same time, by the feminist movimentation and for the ealier publications around the women history, and, as well as, by the enthusiasm in brazilian art with the « return of painting» and the top of Inah´s career.

RESUMO Este artigo apresenta a trajetória do Laboratório de Estudos de Gênero e História - LEGH, da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, bem como discute a importância de acervos acadêmicos de pesquisa para contribuir na disseminação de informações sobre o período das ditaduras civil-militares do Cone Sul. Todo o material coletado sobre gênero, feminismos e ditaduras no Brasil, Argentina, Paraguai, Uruguai, Bolívia e Chile, vem propiciando várias análises, utilizando-se das mais variadas fontes documentais e possibilitando um estudo comparativo a partir de diferentes pesquisas.

The aim of the paper is to develop a theoretical construct about the mitigation of the bullwhip effect, considering trust and collaboration in managing the supply chain. The study presents a qualitative research based on the systematic literature review, which is tested through field research, involving companies in the medical and hospital area belonging to the same supply chain. The bullwhip effect has been observed throughout the industry for many years. Several academic studies have assigned to operating causes the reason for its occurrence. Few studies have focused behavioral causes. Through this study, it appears that affective trust (honesty, mutual understanding, credibility, respect and compliance) and trust in the competence (knowledge/technique, commitment in the relationship) are both necessary for keeping the relationship, but without affective trust, the relationship does not develop. Moreover, an organizational culture based on trust and collaboration exchange, and knowledge related to processes and technology among businesses, contributing to the joint planning and collaboration in the information sharing occurs. Thus, aspects of behavior toward partners of supply chain companies can mitigate the operational causes of the bullwhip effect by improving information and knowledge sharing, demand forecasting, replenishment policy, and reducing the risk coordination among the chain participants.

ABSTRACT Acute acalculous cholecystitis is a very rare gastrointestinal manifestation in systemic lupus erythematosus and becomes rarer as an initial manifestation. There are only two cases reported. The authors report a 20-year-old black woman that presented acute acalculous cholecystitis revealed by abdominal computed tomography. During hospitalization, she was diagnosed systemic lupus erythematosus. Conservative treatment with antibiotics was performed with complete remission of the symptoms. Corticosteroid was started in ambulatory. Cholecystectomy has been the treatment of choice in acute acalculous cholecystitis as a complication of systemic lupus erythematosus. The patient responded well to conservative treatment, and surgery was not required. This case is unique in the way that corticosteroid was started in ambulatory care. We should not forget that the acute acalculous cholecystitis can be the initial presentation of systemic lupus erythematosus although its occurrence is very rare. Conservative treatment should be considered. Abdominal computed tomography was a determinant exam for better assessment of acute acalculous cholecystitis.

Através de resultados iniciais de mapeamento em andamento das produções sobre “mulheres, feminismos, gênero e música” no Brasil, apresentamos a interpretação de que existe um campo em emergência e construção coletivas no paí­s – vemos o campo “música e gênero”, como uma “onda” que emerge na área da música e que vem estruturando-se desde 1978. Propomos reflexões crí­ticas relacionadas ao campo e suas relações (internas e externas) a partir das musicologias e epistemologias feministas e das relações entre teoria e prática no campo. Combinando abordagens quantitativas e qualitativas, observamos a constituição hí­brida, múltipla, heterogênea, coletiva e plural do campo.

Os silêncios de Clio, acerca das homossexualidades no Brasil, não deixa de ser surpreendente se lembrarmos que, desde a segunda metade do século XX, a historiografia brasileira, seja aquela praticada a partir de uma perspectiva marxista, seja aquela afinada com o pensamento da escola dos Annales, introduziu uma série de novos sujeitos, novas abordagens e novas problemáticas. Todavia, tal silêncio, que parece ecoar o “pensamento heterossexual” na produção histórica, está timidamente sendo rompido. Neste artigo, analisamos as condições político-epistemológicas que têm contribuído para despertar Clio de seu longo sono heteronormativo e os desafios propostos à escrita historiográfica a partir da emergência dos estudos queer.
