Preeclampsia represents one of the main causes of maternal death in the world. The objective was to identify the women's knowledge about preeclampsia in pregnancy. This was a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study with 26 women linked to the Pastoral da Criança care service. In order to collect the data, a conversation circle was held in 2014 to discuss and apply a questionnaire with open and closed questions, the data being analyzed by thematic content analysis. The predominance of women of childbearing age who have already experienced motherhood was identified and, therefore, the possibility of complications during pregnancy was exposed. One of the respondents had the disease during pregnancy, seven had some knowledge about the subject, and 19 of them were unaware of the disease. Prenatal care is identified as a way of clarifying the disease and its risk factors. It is necessary to train prenatal and multiprofessional caregivers in assisting women, including health education actions that contribute to improving women's knowledge about the diseases that permeate the gestational period.

Aim: to reflect on the determinant aspects to the maintenance/reinsertion of the elderly in the labor market, considering the implications to gerontological nursing. Method: a theoretical-reflexive study about the elderly in the labor market and its repercussions on the practice of gerontological nursing. Results: there is a growing presence of the elderly in the labor market due to the need to maintain the social role, social security issues, loss of purchasing power and the need to provide for the family, thus making the demands of care in the area of gerontological nursing, that must contemplate aspects related to the working environment and the aging process. Conclusion: gerontological nursing has many possibilities to provide its skills and competences in the area of worker health, focused on the specificities of the elderly worker with a focus on strengthening the knowledge related to the triad aging/old age/work.

Doi: 10.5902/2179769210461 Aims: to identify the conceptions of health of users and health professionals of a Family Health Strategy located in a city of the south of Brazil. Methods: descriptive and qualitative study realized with key informants: six residents, six community health agents and seven other members of the family health team. For the data collection the Participatory Rapid Appraisal was used, with the observation and interview as data sources. A theme analysis was carrierd out with the data. Results: health was pointed out by the key informants as a condition for life maintenance, as a result of the interaction of various aspects, conditions and lifestyle, influenced by occupation and social interactions. Conclusions: the professionals should involve social, environmental and psychological aspects in the planning of the assistance, since these significantly appeared to be determining in regards to health.

Doi: 10.5902/2179769211063 Aim: to characterize the technology-dependent patients cared for in home care services of a University Hospital in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Method: quantitative research, with descriptive and cross-sectional design developed with 57 patients dependent on technologies at home. The data were submitted to descriptive statistical analysis. Results: it was found that most patients were male, married, average age of 58 years, low income and education and made use of more than a technological device. And 73.7% used probes to aid in feeding, 24.6% tracheostomy and 22.8% oxygen. It was identified that 56.2% were discharged, 26.3% another hospitalization and 17.5% died. Conclusions: we need to consider that an increasing number of people use technologies at home. Health professionals should be attentive to the health needs of these people making comprehensive and continuous care.

Objetivo: descrever as evidências sobre as necessidades de cuidado e fatores que influenciam no cotidiano dos pacientes após a cirurgia de revascularização miocárdica. Métodos: Revisão integrativa da literatura, com coleta dos dados nas bases Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval Sistem Online utilizando os descritores “revascularização miocárdica” and “alta do paciente” or “atividades cotidianas” or “reabilitação” or “ajustamento social”, em janeiro de 2013. Foram analisados 12 artigos que constituíram o corpus do estudo. Resultados: Os resultados apontam que o dia-a-dia após cirurgia inclui a necessidade de mudanças no estilo de vida. As repercussões negativas da revascularização miocárdica incluem a ansiedade, depressão e acompanhamento médico e os fatores positivos a diminuição dos sintomas anginosos. Conclusão: Conclui-se que há carência de intervenções dos profissionais de enfermagem que contribuam na qualidade de vida dos indivíduos revascularizados, incentivando a autonomia na reconstrução da identidade.

Objetivo: Conhecer as práticas de cuidado desenvolvidas por usuários com hipertensão arterial. Métodos: Pesquisa descritiva exploratória, de abordagem qualitativa realizada com pessoas com hipertensão arterial moradoras da área de abrangência de uma Unidade de Saúde da Família de um município do sul do Brasil. A coleta de dados ocorreu nos meses de fevereiro e março de 2011 por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. Para analisar os dados utilizou-se análise do tipo temática. Resultados: Da análise dos dados emergiram as seguintes categorias: cuidados com a alimentação; cuidado medicamentoso; cuidados com atividades físicas; cuidado em manter o equilíbrio emocional; cuidados populares. Conclusão: Destaca-se a importância de conhecer os cuidados desenvolvidos por usuários hipertensos, a fim de melhor conduzir as ações em saúde a esse público, valorizando suas práticas e atentando para as dificuldades vivenciadas por eles na realização desses cuidados.

Objective: identify the family caregiver perceptions and motivations, as well as the impact on his life of care provided to familiar with disabling chronic illness. Method: it is a qualitative exploratory and descriptive research conducted in the South of Brazil, with ten caregivers, chosen by drawing. To collect the data it was used semi structured interview and for the analysis it was used content analysis. Results: it was noted that each caregiver had particular perceptions, difficulties, and personal motivations. The repercussions were mostly related to physical and emotional conditions, such as excessive physical efforts, premature aging, eating disorders, changes in sleep and rest and leisure activities. Final considerations: it is suggested to health-care professionals to understand better and better the family care, as well as the particularities of each family, accepting the caregiver as an ally in care

Objetivou-se conhecer as práticas de cuidado em saúde desenvolvidas por uma comunidade rural assentada na região noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Método: Pesquisa qualitativa de vertente etnográfica, utilizando-se o guia habilitador Observação-Participação-Reflexão e entrevista semiestruturada. A análise dos dados ocorreu com base no guia de análise de dados da etnoenfermagem. Resultados: Demonstrou-se que o cuidado encontra-se, culturalmente, definido e significa proteção, seja no sistema de cuidado genérico ou profissional. No cuidado genérico, a proteção torna-se uma ferramenta de sobrevivência das famílias e no cuidado profissional abrange ações de apoio e assistência para melhorar o seu bem-estar. Conclusão: Evidencia-se que as práticas de cuidado em saúde articulam os sistemas de cuidado popular e profissional, o que indica como necessária a aproximação dos saberes para permitir à enfermagem realizar um cuidado congruente com a cultura.
