Abstract Objective: to map the scientific literature on the validity of instruments for evaluating the quality of services provided in primary health care for chronic diseases related to systemic arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, leprosy and tuberculosis. Method: scoping review, following the Joanna Briggs Institute method and described in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews. 13 databases and gray literature were included. The selection of studies was carried out after removing duplicates and individual and paired evaluation. The data was extracted based on an elaborate script and presented in tables and charts. Results: the analysis of 28 selected studies showed that the majority were from Brazil, followed by China and Malaysia. Almost half of the validated instruments were generic, and the specific ones covered the evaluation of diabetes mellitus and leprosy. The types of validation carried out were content and construct. Conclusion: there is a need to construct specific instruments due to the scarcity of studies on the process of validating instruments for evaluating the quality of services provided by primary health care for chronic diseases.

Objective: To analyze the morbidity trend and space-time distribution clusters of confirmed COVID-19 cases in children and adolescents. Method: An ecological study of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the Information System from 2020 to 2022 in the age group from 0 to 19 years old, residents in Mato Grosso municipalities, Brazilian Midwest region. A trend analysis of the monthly morbidity rate of cases/100,000 inhabitants was used, following Prais-Winsten's regression. A space-time distribution of the Bayesian incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants was performed, in addition to a space-time scan to identify high-risk clusters. Results: Of all 79,592 COVID-19 cases studied, 51.6% were in females and 44.21% in people aged 15–19 years old. The mean monthly rate was 265.87 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with a stationary trend in the period analyzed (Monthly Percentage Variation [MPV]) = 12.15; CI95%[MPV]: -0.73;26.70). The morbidity rate due to COVID-19 was higher in the female gender (283.14/100,000 inhabitants) and in the age group from 15 to 19 years old (485.90/100,000 inhabitants). An increasing trend was observed with a greater monthly time variation of 14.42% (CI95%[MPV]: 1.28;29.28)] among those aged from 10 to 14 years old. The primary cluster, which was also the one with the highest Relative Risk (RR = 5,16, p-value = 0.001), included 19 municipalities located in the North health macro-region. Conclusion: The findings indicated a monthly stationary trend in the study population, an increase in the age group from 10 to 14 years old, and areas at a higher risk for the disease in the North health macro-region of the state.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to validate the content of an instrument for assessing leprosy care in individuals under 15 years old in the context of Primary Health Care. Methods: methodological study of content validation, based on the evaluation of essential and derived attributes in primary care, in the professional version. For data analysis, the Content Validation Index (CVI ≥ 0.8) and Cronbach’s Alpha were calculated. Results: a higher percentage of judges among nurses (61.5%) was observed; with a doctorate (46.2%), and engaged in teaching and research (77%). The overall Content Validation Index of the instrument was 0.98. In the analysis of Cronbach’s Alpha of the instrument, the assigned value was 0.717. Conclusions: the instrument represents an advancement in the measurement of health evaluation policies and can significantly contribute to improving the quality of care provided to children and adolescents with leprosy.

Changes in the quality of two commercial brands of cooking oil were studied under the frying conditions traditionally used in the Portuguese hospitality trade. Three hundred rissoles were fried at a temperature of 160-170°C for 1 hour. Values of peroxide, p-anisidine, Totox, acidity and total polar compounds were determined. Isomeric cis and trans fatty acids were quantified using CP-Sil 88-packed capillary column via gas chromatography.

This study aimed to evaluate different spacings between rows on the development and yield of single-head broccoli under the soil and climate conditions of Seropédica, in the Baixada Fluminense region, the State of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Tests were carried out under field conditions using the Avenger hybrid. The experimental design adopted was randomized blocks with four treatments and four replications per treatment. Four spacings between rows were tested: 0.6 m, 0.7 m, 0.8 m, and 1.0 m. The spacing between plants in the rows was 0.6 m in all treatments. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar os efeitos da aplicação de cama de aviário com diferentes tempos de compostagem sobre a ocorrência da hérnia das crucíferas e o desenvolvimento de plantas de couve-flor. Utilizaram-se como tratamentos parcelas inoculadas com Plasmodiophora brassicae (Pb) e adubadas com cama de aviário fresca (CA-0 + Pb) e com cama de aviário compostada por 15 (CA-15 + Pb) e por 30 dias (CA-30 + Pb). Como testemunhas utilizaram-se parcelas inoculadas e sem cama de aviário (Testemunha + Pb), parcelas não inoculadas (NI) e tratadas com cama de aviário compostada por 30 dias (CA-30 - NI), e sem cama de aviário (Testemunha - NI). O grau de estabilização e maturação da cama de aviário interferiu na severidade da hérnia das crucíferas, volume e massa de raízes sadias e das galhas e no crescimento da parte aérea. Os tratamentos CA-15 + Pb e CA-30 + Pb foram equivalentes a Testemunha + Pb quanto à intensidade da doença. Na presença do patógeno (Pb), a aplicação de CA-15 resultou em menor volume e massa de raízes sadias e menor massa de parte aérea. O tratamento CA-0 foi equivalente aos tratamentos não inoculados. Novos estudos são necessários para se elucidar os processos e interações relacionados ao efeito da maturidade de compostos de cama de aviário na infecção das raízes e ocorrência da hérnia das crucíferas.

Abstract The objective of this work was to quantify the content of total phenolic compounds in monofloral honey from aroeira (Astronium urundeuva) trees and to verify, through histochemical tests, if these compounds are present in the floral tissues. The apiary, with Apis mellifera bees, was installed among aroeira trees in the semiarid region of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. From the anatomy of the flowers and of the inflorescence rachis, an ornamented epidermis, tector and glandular trichomes, idioblasts, and a developed secretory system were observed. Aroeira honey has an average phenolic content of 142.5±22.6 mg 100 g-1, a value considered very high when compared with those of other monofloral honeys from Brazil and around the world. Histochemical tests detected the presence of phenolic substances in the idioblasts and secretory ducts associated with the phloem in the floral tissues, especially in the nectar parenchyma, epidermis, and glandular trichomes. Phenolic compounds are present in the floral tissue of both floral morphs, mainly in the nectary where honeybees collect nectar. The obtained results are the first, in the literature, indicative that the phenolic compounds produced by aroeira trees are transferred through the nectar to the honey. This study contributes to the establishment of quality standards for monofloral aroeira honey and to the identification of its botanical origin.

Introdução: Os doentes assintomáticos ou com sintomatologia ligeira a moderada representam 80-85% dos doentes infetados com SARS-CoV-2. Um melhor conhecimento sobre o curso da doença, os sinais de agravamento, podem ser de grande importância para uma otimização do seguimento destes doentes e antecipação de complicações. Objetivo: Estudar as características e evolução da doença por SARS-CoV-2 pelos cuidados de saúde primários, em indivíduos com critério para vigilância domiciliária. Métodos: Identificados doentes com infeção confirmada, inscritos na plataforma Trace COVID-19 e atribuídos à USF, de 26/Mar a 30/Jun de 2020. Os dados foram recolhidos através de contacto telefónico, tendo sido estudadas as variáveis: número de casos; caracterização demográfica, clínica e laboratorial, assim como evolução da doença. A análise dos dados foi efetuada no programa Microsoft® Excel. Resultados: Dos 41 indivíduos estudados, 53,7% era do sexo feminino e a média de idades foi de 44,9 anos. A duração média dos sintomas foi de 15,9 dias, sendo a mialgia o sintoma mais prevalente (61%). Em relação às comorbilidades, a patologia mais frequentemente encontrada foi a hipertensão arterial (22%). De acordo com a evolução clínica apenas 14,6% teve necessidade de observação em áreas dedicadas à COVID-19 na comunidade ou no serviço de urgência hospitalar. Conclusões: Os sintomas gripais, como mialgias (61%), cefaleias (58,5%), cansaço (56,1%) e tosse (48,8%), foram os mais frequentes. O único doente com necessidade de internamento apresentava como única comorbilidade a obesidade. Este é hoje reconhecido como um fator de risco para complicações associadas à COVID-19, a par da idade (acima dos 65 anos), das doenças cardiovasculares, da doença pulmonar crónica e da diabetes. Este estudo constitui um contributo para uma melhor caracterização desta patologia conhecida apenas há cerca de dois anos e reforça a importância do médico de família no seguimento dos doentes e integração de cuidados.

A produção de couve-flor e demais brássicas vem sendo impactada, a nível mundial, devido à ocorrência da doença hérnia das crucíferas, causada por Plasmodiophora brassicae (Wor.). Diante disso, torna-se necessário a busca por estratégias de manejo que possam contribuir na redução das perdas causadas pela doença. Este trabalho objetivou, de forma preliminar, avaliar os efeitos de diferentes doses de torta de mamona (TM) na severidade da hérnia das crucíferas e no crescimento de plantas de couve-flor. Foram realizados dois ensaios em casa de vegetação onde, no primeiro, avaliou-se em tubetes os efeitos das doses 0, 10, 20 e 40 Mg ha-1 de TM na incidência da doença e na massa seca da parte aérea (MSPA). No segundo, avaliou-se em vasos as doses 0, 10, 20, 30 e 40 Mg ha-1 na severidade da doença, atributos das raízes e acúmulo de biomassa nas plantas. Foram observadas diferenças significativas quanto à incidência da doença, que foi reduzida, e da MSPA que aumentou em função das doses. Houve decréscimos na severidade da doença e incrementos no crescimento das raízes sadias. Adicionalmente, observaram-se efeitos positivos na altura das plantas, número de folhas e massa seca de folhas, caules e raízes. Conclui-se que a utilização de torta de mamona foi promissora nas condições analisadas e que novos estudos devem ser realizados em condições de campo e com ciclo mais longo.

This text is the result of academic concerns of the authors, who are interested in the subject of Territory; Agroecology and Rural education. This, arises to problematize the relationship of rural education and agriculture-based ecology. The objective of this work was to verify if the Arroio Grande State School of Elementary Education located in the district of Arroio Grande has conception of the agroecological approach in the experience of the school community. This research was done through a bibliographical survey and insertion in the study community. It was verified that the School does not develop in its projects structures capable of strengthening the students' bonds with the local community. The need for a constructive education that is committed to the life and daily life of the student is affirmed, so that this community develops socioeconomically.

The effects of the dose and application method of limestone - broadcast or in furrow - and of agricultural gypsum on soil fertility, the control of clubroot, and cauliflower development in mountain farming areas were evaluated. Initially, four doses of broadcast limestone (0.0, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 Mg ha-1) and two cauliflower cultivars (Sharon and Piracicaba Precoce) were analyzed. A second experiment evaluated limestone (4.0 Mg ha-1) application treatments: broadcast and in furrow, broadcast limestone + gypsum (3.0 + 1.0 Mg ha-1), and broadcast gypsum (1.0 Mg ha-1). Soil fertility was improved, and significant increases were observed in the total and healthy root volume with increasing doses of limestone. With 4.0 Mg ha-1, a 58 and 85% increase in yield was observed in Sharon and Piracicaba, respectively, compared to the control. Treatments with limestone and limestone + gypsum, regardless of the application method, elevated pH (≥ 10%), base saturation (V%) (≥ 37%), and calcium (Ca) contents (≥ 100%), and reduced the levels of aluminum ions (Al3+) (≥ 60%) and clubroot severity (≥ 64%) and favored biomass accumulation (≥ 27%) and yield (≥ 9.2%). The application of limestone in the furrow yielded results similar to the broadcast application.

Recent research has given relevance to the role of phonological awareness and the knowledge of letters in preschool. Research on the role of logical thinking (logical operations) and studies with this integration are rare. The logical operations (Seriation, Classification and Classes’ Inclusion), phonological awareness and the knowledge of letters are important in preschool, but there are no studies that address these predictors simultaneously. This study aims to analyze the relationship between logical operations, phonological awareness and letter knowledge of children who are attending pre-school education, taking into account the children’s age and gender and parent’s qualifications. The sample consisted of 116 children attending three schools. The results of this study show that there are no significant differences on the child’s gender. Regarding age, there were statistically significant differences between the older and the younger kids in Piagetian tasks seriation and classification. As for the educational qualifications of parents, there were significant differences, so that children with better performance were the ones of parents with higher education. There are significant positive correlations between the logical operations, phonological awareness and letter knowledge. Conventional lung auscultation is essential in the management of respiratory diseases. However, detecting adventitious sounds outside medical facilities remains challenging. We assessed the feasibility of lung auscultation using the smartphone built-in microphone in real-world clinical practice. We recruited 134 patients (median[interquartile range] 16[11–22.25]y; 54% male; 31% cystic fibrosis, 29% other respiratory diseases, 28% asthma; 12% no respiratory diseases) at the Pediatrics and Pulmonology departments of a tertiary hospital. First, clinicians performed conventional auscultation with analog stethoscopes at 4 locations (trachea, right anterior chest, right and left lung bases), and documented any adventitious sounds. Then, smartphone auscultation was recorded twice in the same four locations. The recordings (n = 1060) were classified by two annotators. Seventy-three percent of recordings had quality (obtained in 92% of the participants), with the quality proportion being higher at the trachea (82%) and in the children’s group (75%). Adventitious sounds were present in only 35% of the participants and 14% of the recordings, which may have contributed to the fair agreement between conventional and smartphone auscultation (85%; k = 0.35(95% CI 0.26–0.44)). Our results show that smartphone auscultation was feasible, but further investigation is required to improve its agreement with conventional auscultation.

Clubroot, caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, is a disease that limits the cauliflower cultivation and is difficult to control. This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of liming combined with the use of Trichoderma harzianum-based biofungicide for the control of clubroot in cauliflower. In a field experiment, the use of the biofungicide in combination with the application of calcined limestone doses (0 Mg ha-1, 1.0 Mg ha-1, 2.0 Mg ha-1 and 4.0 Mg ha-1) was evaluated. Subsequently, in a greenhouse, the biofungicide combined with liming with quicklime (2.54 Mg ha-1) was tested, and cyazofamid and water were tested as controls. The disease severity and attributes related to root and plant development were analyzed. In the field experiment, the healthy root volume and fresh weight, total root dry weight and inflorescence fresh weight and diameter were all significantly increased, while the diseased root volume, in response to the limestone doses, was reduced. The biofungicide reduced the root growth and inflorescence fresh weight. In the greenhouse, liming increased the healthy root volume and fresh weight, as well as total root dry weight, and reduced the disease severity. No significant difference was observed between the biofungicide and the control (water), which were inferior to cyazofamid. The biofungicide was not efficient in controlling the disease and did not favour the growth of cauliflower plants, either alone or combined with liming. Liming reduced the disease severity and increased the cauliflower root growth and yield.

O estádio de maturação do fruto influencia diretamente na sua vida pós-colheita e na escolha por parte do consumidor, por isso o entendimento do processo de maturação e de suas características de qualidade para o armazenamento são fatores fundamentais para a comercialização. Diante disso, este trabalho teve por objetivo determinar o tempo de prateleira e alterações dos índices físicos e químicos em frutos de tomate do grupo cereja, colhidos em quatro estádios de maturação e armazenados sob temperatura ambiente e controlada. Para isso, foram utilizados frutos nos estádios de maturação: de vez, rosado, vermelho e maduro, submetidos às temperaturas: ambiente (25 ± 2 °C) e controlada (12 °C e UR de 90%) e avaliados os índices de perda de massa fresca, acidez titulável, pH, sólidos solúveis e ácido ascórbico ao longo do tempo. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualisado em um fatorial 2x4x7 para temperatura ambiente e 2x4x8 para temperatura controlada. Em temperatura ambiente, longevidade de até 20 dias foi observada para frutos de Perinha Água branca (PAB) e Mascot colhidos nos estádios de maturação de vez e rosado e de 15 dias para os estádios vermelho e maduro em PAB e de 15 e 11 dias, respectivamente, para vermelho e maduro em Mascot. Em temperatura controlada, frutos de PAB apresentaram longevidade de 24 dias quando colhidos de vez e rosado e de 20 e 7 dias, respectivamente, quando vermelho e maduro. Longevidade de até 27 dias foi observada para Mascot quando colhidos no estádio de vez e de 24 dias para os demais estádios. Frutos colhidos no estádio de maturação de vez e rosado associado ao armazenamento em condições controladas apresentam maior longevidade e manutenção dos índices físicos e químicos de qualidade.
