Denna teknoekonomiska analys undersöker avvägningarna mellan två olika konfigurationer för att hantera den inneboende intermittensen hos förnybar energi för en stadig e-metanolproduktion: 1) Off-grid Power-to-Methanol: Kompenserar för intermittens med vätgas och elektrisk lagring. 2) Grid-connected Power-to-Methanol: Kompletterar brister från havsparken med nätel, med hänsyn till marknadsdynamik. Vätgaslagring är valfri. Specifically, this is a case study of Wind-to-Methanol in Sweden, linked to the under-development Aurora Wind Park, co-owned by OX2 AB and Ingka Investments, with a potential capacity of 5.5 GW. Up to 185 tonnes/hour of biogenic CO2 are considered available, which could produce over 1 million tonnes of green methanol annually. This techno-economic analysis investigates the trade-offs between two different configurations to address the inherent intermittency of renewable energy for the steady state e-methanol production: 1) Off-grid Power-to-Methanol: Compensates for intermittency with hydrogen and electrical storage. 2) Grid-connected Power-to-Methanol: Supplements shortages from the offshore park with grid electricity, considering market dynamics. Hydrogen storage is optional.
