Aim: The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between University Entrance Exam Score (UEES) and General Academic Grade Point Average (GAGPA).Material and Method: This research focusing on sports science graduate students was carried out using a causal comparison model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. This research was carried out after the 2022 graduation from Kirsehir Ahi Evran University (KAEU) Faculty of Sports Sciences (FSS). The population of the research was composed of 460 male and female students, who were enrolled in KAEU FSS in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The sample of this study consisted of 340 graduates (nMale=188 and nFemale=152) enrolled between these years, and who are not national team athletes and disabled students. In order to determine the descriptive statistics of the sample group, gender, department, UEES, High School Grade Point Average (HSGPA), placement score, and GPA values were obtained from the database. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 software. After descriptive statistics were given, the assumption of normality was checked, Correlate-Bivariate (Spearman) was used for correlation analysis, Crosstabs was used for cross-tabulation of UEES and GAGPA data, and regression analysis was performed to determine the effect of UEES on GAGPA. ÖzBu çalışmamızda bireysel ve takım sporlarında mücadele eden 18 yaş altı sporcularının relatif kol kuvvetinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma gönüllü katılım esasına göre çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden (Tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi) bireysel takımlarda oynayan 30 erkek ve takım sporlarında oynayan 39 erkek sporcu olmak üzere toplam 69 erkek sporcudan oluşmaktadır. Sporculardan alınan verilerin istatistiksel analizleri SPSS 26.0 paket programında yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, özellikle gelişim çağındaki çocuklarının yaş artışına paralel olarak üst kol, alt kol ve el uzunluğunun artması ile sporcuların kuvvet gelişimlerinin doğru tespit edilebilmesi için salt kuvvet ölçümünden ziyade relatif kuvvet ölçümüne gereksinim vardır. Yaş ile beraber artan kas kütlesi ve buna bağlı olarak artan kuvvet değeri sporcunun gerçek kuvvet değeri değildir. The research consists of a total of 69 male athletes, including 30 men playing in individual teams and 39 male athletes playing in team sports, who agreed to participate in the study on the basis of voluntary participation (random sampling method). Statistical analyzes of the data received from the athletes were made in the SPSS 26.0 package program. As a result, relative strength measurement is needed rather than mere strength measurement in order to accurately determine the strength development of the athletes, especially with the increase in the length of the upper arm, lower arm and hand in parallel with the increase in the age of the children in the developmental age. Therefore, the use of the relative arm strength method will be very useful in determining the real strength increase of the athletes. In addition, the relative arm strength method will be very useful in determining the real strength value of the athletes, especially in combat sports and performance athletes, where the grip strength of disabled athletes is important. It will be very useful to use this method in determining the real strength value of the athletes, especially in the monitoring and evaluation of the athletes individually.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, üst extremiteyi (kolları) daha aktif kullanan bireysel ve takım sporcularının kol kütleleri ile kol relatif kuvveti arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın örneklemi, Kırşehir Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesinde eğitim öğretim gören bireysel ve takım sporlarında oynayan gönüllü katılım esasına göre çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden bireysel takımlarda oynayan 50 erkek ve takım spor sporlarında oynayan 48 erkek sporcu olmak üzere toplam 98 erkek sporcudan oluşmaktadır. Relatif kol kuvvetinin belirlenmesinde “Relatif Kol Kuvveti = El Pençe Kuvveti / Kol Kütlesi” yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Sporculardan alınan verilerin istatistiksel analizleri SPSS 26.0 paket programında yapılmıştır. Relatif kuvvet ile relatif kol kütlesi arasında hem bireysel sporcularda (r:,957) hem de takım sporcularında (r:,945) pozitif yönlü çok yüksek düzeyde ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Relatif kol kuvveti yöntemine göre takım sporcularının kuvvet değerinin (6,12±,78 kg) bireysel sporcularından (5,95±0,85 kg) daha yüksek çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, yapılan kuvvet antrenmanları ile artan kas kütlesi ve buna bağlı olarak artan kuvvet değerinin sporcunun gerçek kuvvet değeri olmadığı ve sporcunun gerçek kuvvet artışını belirlemenin en sağlıklı yolunun relatif ölçümler olduğundan dolayı relatif kol kuvveti yönteminin kullanılması sporcuların gerçek kuvvet artışının belirlenmesinde oldukça yararlı olacaktır, TThe aim of this study is to determine the relationship between arm mass and arm relative strength of individual and team athletes who use the upper extremity (arms) more actively. The sample of the study consists of a total of 98 male athletes, 50 men playing in individual teams and 48 male athletes playing in team sports, who accepted to participate in the study on the basis of voluntary participation, playing in individual and team sports, studying at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Sports Sciences. “Relative Arm Strength = Hand Claw Force / Arm Mass” method was used to determine the relative arm strength. Statistical analyzes of the data obtained from the athletes were made in the SPSS 26.0 package program. A very high positive correlation was found between relative strength and relative arm mass in both individual athletes (r:,957) and team athletes (r:,945). According to the relative arm strength method, it was determined that the strength value of the team athletes (6.12±.78 kg) was higher than the individual athletes (5.95±0.85 kg). As a result, the use of the relative arm strength method will be very useful in determining the real strength increase of the athletes, since the increased muscle mass and consequently the increased strength value with the strength training is not the real strength value of the athlete and the most healthy way to determine the real strength increase of the athlete is relative measurements.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, seçilmiş bazı kinantropometrik ölçümlerin, boy, kilo, somatotip (vücut tipi) ve bacak ve hacim kütlesinin özel yetenek sınavını kazanan öğrencilerin parkur performansı (derecesi) ile olan ilişkisini araştırmaktır. Bu araştırma, 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında Kırşehir Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi özel yetenek sınavında başarılı olan 54 bayan ve 85 erkek toplam 139 kişi içinden gönüllü katılım esasına göre çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 34 bayan 57 erkek olmak üzere toplam 91 kişi üzerinde yapılmıştır. Katılımcıların bacak hacim ve kütlesi ile Somatotip yapıları Marangoz ve Özbalcı tarafından geliştirilen “Bacak Hacim ve Kütlesi Hesaplama” ve “SOMATOTÜRK” programları ile hesaplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 22.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, somatotip yapıları bakımından değerlendirildiğinde; hem erkeklerde hem de bayanlarda en yüksek puanları alan Antrenörlük Eğitimi Bölümü erkek öğrencilerinin Ekto-Mezomorfi komponentine sahip iken, bayan öğrencilerinin ağırlıklı olarak Mezo-Ektomorfi ve Dengeli Ektomorfi komponentine sahip oldukları görülmektedir., This study aims to investigate the relationship between selected kinantropometric measurements, height, weight, somatotype (body type), and leg and volume mass of the students who pass the special talent exam with the parkour performance (grade). This research was carried out on a total of 91 people, 34 women and 57 men, among 139 people, 54 women and 85 men, who were successful in the special talent exam of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Sports Sciences in the 2021-2022 academic year, who agreed to participate in the study based on voluntary participation. The leg volume and mass and Somatotype structures of the participants were calculated with the "Leg Volume and Mass Calculation" and "SOMATOTÜRK" programs developed by Carpenter and Özbalcı. SPSS 22.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data. As a result, when evaluated in terms of somatotype structures; It is seen that male students of the Department of Coaching Education, who have the highest scores in both men and women, have the Ecto-Mesomorphy component, while the female students predominantly have the Meso-Ectomorphy and Balanced Ectomorphy components.

The present study aims to analyze some problems faced by active athletes during Covid-19 isolation period. A total of 1176 active athletes in different sports branches in Turkey, i.e. athletics, basketball, boxing, football, handball, gymnastics, judo, water polo, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball and swimming, participated in the present study voluntarily. A qualitative research method was used for data analysis. In addition, a survey form consisting of 5 open-ended questions was used by researchers as a data collection tool. SPSS 22.0 was used for the analysis of the data obtained from the survey. The findings demonstrated that during Covid-19 isolation period, 66.2% of the athletes were affected negatively in terms of their trainings (f=779), while 33.8% of them were not affected negatively (f=397). As for non-national athletes, it was found that 73.7% of them were affected negatively, while 26.3% of them were not affected. In addition, 74.7% of the athletes stated that their performances declined during Covid-19 isolation period (f=878), while 25.3% of them did not report any performance declines (f=298). It can be thus inferred that many athletes’ performances were affected negatively and thus declined remarkably during Covid-19 isolation period. Thus, Covid-19 isolation led to an unusual limitation of movement for athletes and caused them to face a number of physical, physiological and psychological problems because they were forced to continue trainings at home and with their own equipment, which eventually resulted in a performance decline., Bu araştırmanın amacı COVID-19 karantina döneminde aktif sporcuların karşılaştığı bazı durumların incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya Türkiye’de aktif spor yapan; atletizm, basketbol, boks, futbol, hentbol, jimnastik, judo, su topu, taekwondo, tenis, voleybol ve yüzme branşlarından toplam 1176 sporcu katılmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yapılan bu çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan 5 açık uçlu soru içeren anket formu kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen verilerin analizi için SPSS 22.0 programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre Covid-19 karantina döneminde sporcuların %66,2’si antrenmanlarının olumsuz olarak etkilendiğini (f=779), %33,8’i ise antrenmanlarının olumsuz olarak etkilenmediğini (f=397) söylemişlerdir. Milli olmayan sporcular açısından bakıldığında; %73,7’si olumsuz etkilendiğini, %26,3’ü ise olumsuz etkilenmediğini söylemiştir. Ayrıca araştırmaya katılan sporcuların %74,7’si Covid-19 karantina döneminde performanslarının düştüğünü (f=878), %25,3’ü ise performanslarının düşmediğini belirtmişlerdir (f=298). Bu sonuçlara bakıldığında sporcuların büyük çoğunluğunun Covid-19 karantina döneminde performanslarının olumsuz etkilenerek düştüğü görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak; Covid-19 salgını sporcuların alışılmışın dışında hareket kısıtlılığı, antrenmanlara evde ya da kendi imkanlarıyla devam etmek zorunda kalmalarından kaynaklı olarak fiziksel, fizyolojik ve psikolojik olarak birtakım olumsuzluklar yaşamalarına, buna bağlı olarak ta performanslarının olumsuz etkilenmesine sebep olmuştur.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, farklı branşlardaki amatör sporcuların bacak hacmi ve kütlesinin ivmelenme hızı üzerine etkilerini araştırmaktır. Araştırma Kırşehir ilinde amatör olarak spor yapan ve araştırmaya gönüllü olarak katılmayı kabul eden, 200 erkek sporcu ile yapılmıştır. Amatör sporcuların alt ektremite bacak hacim Frustum, bacak kütlesi ise Hanavan metodu kullanılarak, Marangoz ve Özbalcı tarafından geliştirilen “Sporcularda Bacak Hacim ve Kütlesi Hesaplama Programı” ile hesaplanmıştır. Bu araştırmada, Windows için SPSS 22.0 paket programı kullanılarak analiz yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak çalışmamızdaki örneklem grubundaki voleybolcularda ve tenisçilerde ivmelenmenin daha iyi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonucun, vücut kompozisyonu, somatotip komponentlerinin farklı olması, antrenmanların içerikleri, bacak hacmi ve bacak kütlesinin daha fazla olmasından kaynaklandığı düşünülmektedir., The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of leg volume and mass on acceleration rate of amateur athletes in different branches. The study was conducted with 200 male athletes who were doing amateur sports in Kırşehir province and willing to participate voluntarily. The lower limb leg volume of the amateur athletes was calculated using Frustum and the leg mass was calculated using the Hanavan method using the Leg Volume and Mass Calculation Program in Athletes geliştiril developed by the Marangoz and Özbalcı. In this research, SPSS 22.0 for Windows package program was analyzed. As a result, it was found that acceleration was better in volleyball players and tennis players in the sample group in our study. This result is thought to be due to different body composition, somatotype components, training contents and greater leg volume and leg mass.

The study has included 42 elite athletes totally with an average age of 23.45 +/- 2.50 years, average height of 173.64 +/- 6.96 cm, average weight of 79.55 +/- 14.19 kg and average body mass index of 26.22 +/- 3.06. Abstract The aim of this study is to find out the relationship between agility and balance in trainable mentally disabled athletes. Methods:In this study, a group of 15 mentally retarded men that are studying in private educational institutions and doing sports was selected as the experimental group. Their ages range from 8 to 14. It is composed of male athletes with intellectual disabilities whose mean of age is 10.80 ± 2.14 years, average of body weight 48.06 ± 4.74 kg, mean of the length size 154,73±5,10 cm. Agility and balance tests were administered to the experimental group. The data were evaluated in SPSS 22 statistical program by means of Correlation Analysis. As a result of statistical analysis; positive significant relationship was found between age and weight parameters (r=83,7, p< 0.001), between age and height parameters (r = 88.2, p (r=-62,4, pa significant negative relationship between balance and agility (r=-.70,4, p< 0.01).It is determined that there is a significant positive relationship between balance and weight parameters (r=65,8, p< 0.01).there is a significant positive relationship between balance and height parameters (r=72,8, p< 0.01). Conclusions Based on the advent of the ball, sudden change of direction and ensuring balance during the standstill in athletes with intellectual disabilities is very important.
