Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to summarize theoretical knowledge of peripheral palsy, especially the radial nerve palsy, including physiotherapy treatment options. My other aim is to elaborate a detailed case study of a patient with this diagnosis, in which I use the knowledge and skills acquired during my studies. Methods: The thesis consists of two main parts. The general part summarizes theoretical knowledge of peripheral radial palsy based on Czech and English bibliohraphy available in printed and electronic form. The basic anatomy of the radial nerve etiology and clinical picture of damage and its classification are described here. In the upcomming part the treatment of peripheral paresis is described with a more detailed insight into physiotherapy care and the use of specific methods. Barbora Krčíková Supervisor: PhDr. Helena Vomáčková, Ph.D. Title: Longitudinal observation of parameters of dymanic postural stability on patients with sclerosis multiplex in terms of biological treatment Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to describe the postural movement behaviour (independent of therapeutic intervention) in patients with multiple sclerosis referred for biological treatment. Methods: The study used longitudinal monitoring of fatigue and quality of walking in probands (n=2, female, ages 24 and 52) using the Multiple Fatigue Impact Scale (MFIS) and the Multiple Sclerosis Walking Scale-12 (MSWS-12) questionnaires, Longitudinal follow-up of changes in selected parameters of dynamic postural stability obtained on the NeuroCom SMART EquiTest System (Limits of Stability) and longitudinal follow-up of mobility tests using the T25FW (Timed 25 Foot Walk), 6MWT (6-minute Walk Test) and 5STS (5-repetition sit-to-stand test). Title: Change in blood flow to m. biceps femoris when applying compression therapy Objectives: The primary objective of this thesis is to investigate the changes in blood flow to m. biceps femoris when applying tissue flossing technique. Another objective is to evaluate the changes in ischiocrural muscle flexibility before and after applying this technique. Methods: There are 33 healthy participants (20 women, 13 men) between the ages of 18 and 35 (mean age: 24,06 ±2,21) who took part in the experimental research. The initial test evaluated the flexibility of the ischiocrural muscles flexibility of the right lower limb (RLL), followed by the application of tissue flossing for 90 seconds on the right thigh. After releasing the flossband, a control test was performed to evaluate the flexibility of the ischiocrural muscles of the RLL. The elavulation of the change in blood flow was assessed using the Medicap Précisé 8008 device, and the change of the ischiocrural muscles flexibility was measured by the size of the Black's popliteal angle. The data obtained were processed using the mathematical software R. Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament. Thesis Aim: The aim of this thesis is to understand the theoretical background of anterior cruciate ligament ruptures, surgery and rehabilitation. Further, it aims to analyse the effect of therapeutical procedures that were applied to the patient. Clinical Findings: This study evaluated the state of a 34 year old professional male football player after reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament on the right knee. The examination showed findings of reduced range of motion, reduced mobility of joints, differences in the conditions of muscles and soft tissue and decreased stability in the right lower extremity. Methods: The methods used for this study were based on the knowledge gained and the literature that was provided to me by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague. Result: The patient that I have worked with progressed very well after the 10 therapy sessions. Progress was seen in terms of his range of motion, muscle strength and stability in the right lower extremity. Methods: This thesis is divided into two main parts. The first is the general part, which contains information about osteoarthritis and hip alloplasty. The manifestations of osteoarthritis, its diagnostics, distribution, causes and treatment options are mentioned. For alloplasty, surgical approaches, complications associated with surgery, types of joint replacements and possible rehabilitation procedures are listed. The second part of this work is a special section, which includes a case study of a patient after total hip arthroplasty. Title: Influence of regularly repeated asymmetric load on the locomotor system in sweep rowers. Objectives: Aim of this diploma thesis is to compare posture, foot loading symmetries and prevalence of low back pain in a group of sweep rowers with groups of scull rowers and non-rowing probands based on the results of the pedobarographic assessment, assessment of the posture using method of moiré topography and the results obtained from the clinical assessment. Methods: Number of 21 sweep rowers, 20 scull rowers and 23 non-rowing peers were enrolled to the study of this diploma thesis. Each subject was assessed using DIERS formetic 4D and DIERS pedoscan devices. Additionally, participants in each group were assessed by FAIR test, Cluster of Laslett, triggerpoint palpation of the m. piriformis and Visual analog scale, that was used to assess intensity of pain in the lumbar region. Methods: This bachelor thesis comprises of two parts. Part one is focused on providing theoretical knowledge regarding pertrochanteric femoral fracture diagnosis and related femoral traumatology. Aim of the practical part is to present the case study of the patient, who I met during my bachelor's practice in Rehabilitation Hospital of Beroun. Methods: Data for the theoretical part was obtained by systemic research of Czech and international bibliography available both in printed and electronic form. Title: A case study of physiotherapeutic treatment about a patient with disc herniation with L5/S1 with radiculopathy. Thesis goal: This thesis is separated into two parts. Theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part involves anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, multiple case studies, and the physiotherapist's point of view of the problems that lumbar disc herniation can cause to a patient on a daily basis. The practical part is based on anamnesis and patient concerns in addition to treating and curing the main symptoms caused by disc herniation L5/S1 with radiculopathy. Method: During 6 therapy sessions working along with my supervisor Bc. Ales Nesvadba I was applying practical and theoretical knowledge from my studies. Title: Temporomandibular disorders in relation to the psychosomatic diseases Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to process the theoretical background using mainly foreign sources about the issue of the temporomandibular joint. Another goal of this thesis is to find out which psychosomatic diseases are associated with the development of temporomandibular disorders. Methods: The diploma thesis is processed in the form of a literature review using the databases PEDro, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part summarizes the theoretical background about the issue of the temporomandibular joint. The second part has a descriptive - analytical character and contains an analysis of selected studies. Results: Based on the research, 12 studies met the selection criteria. The results of the included studies show that there is an association between the development of temporomandibular disorders and selected diseases from the category of psychosomatic diseases. Title: The current physiotherapeutic approaches used in therapy of patients with hemiplegic shoulder - systematic review Objective: The main objective of this diploma thesis is the evaluation of different therapeutic approaches in rehabilitation of the hemiplegic shoulder pain, based on the available resources corresponding to the established inclusion criteria. The VAS scale was used in every included study as the primary evaluating criteria. This thesis makes effort to evaluate which physiotherapeutic method is most often used and is most effective in hemiplegic shoulder pain treatment, based on modern literal resources. Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of Patient after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is the theoretical elaboration of the issue of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty and creation of a case study of physiotherapeutic care of a patient after implantation of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty including the evaluation of the effect of the therapy. Methods: The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The first is the general part, in which the theoretical treatment of the topic of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty is presented by means of a literature search. Title: Evaluation of dynamic postural stabilization according to the lenght of the lower limbs in road cyclists Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to compare and evaluate the level of dynamic postural stability among professional road cyclists and a healthy population without regular sports activities. Another goal is to find the relationship between anthropometric length of lower limbs and performance of professional road cyclists. Methods: Experimental group of professional road cyclists n = 34 probands (27 men and 7 women) with a mean age of 23.65 ± 3.45, no serious injuries, actively racing for at least 5 years and control group not regularly performing n = 33 probands (26 men and 7 women) 6 women) with an average age of 23.19 ± 2.00, without serious injuries from UK FTVS students. Title: Physiotherapy of functional disorders of the orofacial area in wind instrument players Objective: The areas of interest of this diploma thesis are temporomandibular joint (TMJ), wind instrument playing and health problems affecting the orofacial area related to playing of the wind instruments. The aim of this diploma thesis was to determine the current functional state of the orofacial area in wind instrument players and to evaluate the effectiveness of the chosen type of physical therapy. Methods: This experiment-centered pilot study included a total of 21 wind instrument players aged 15-30. After taking anamnestic data, the subjects underwent kinesiological examination focused on the orofacial area. To evaluate the results, a visual analog pain scale (VAS) and examination of the active range of motion of TMJ using a millimeter ruler were used. If the proband experienced any TMJ pain, had a reduced active range of TMJ, or both of the previous, the patient was prescribed an one month autotherapy targeted on the orofacial area. Method: The general part of the thesis deals with the issue of amputation of the lower limb and its prosthetic possibilities. Title: Ranges of joint mobility in the hip and ankle joints and evaluation of flat feet on a podoscope when finding hallux valgus in classical ballet dancers Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate if selected parameters: passive range of motion (ROM) of rotations in hip joints, Q angle, passive range of motion of plantar flexion in ankle joints and the foot index are connected with the finding of hallux valgus (HV) diagnose. Thesis title: Work related musculoskeletal disorders in professional ballet dancers Objective: The high demands of the ballet dancers' profession are reflected especially within the individual dancer's musculoskeletal body system which is repeatedly exposed to a physical load that is specific for classical dance. The objective of this thesis is to find out what are the work related musculoskeletal disorders ("WRMD") in dancers who work in the Czech Republic, what risk factors prevail and which preventive strategies are applied to avoid the occurrence of WRMD. Methods: The stated objective was achieved by means of a questionnaire survey, during which randomly selected women/young adults with vocational training in ballet who are/were professional ballet dancers voluntarily filled in a questionnaire. In total, 56 ballet dancers within the region of the Czech Republic took part in this survey. The questionnaire consisted of open and closed questions and its conception was based on the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire ("NMQ"), with selected questions adapted to the specifics of the ballet profession. Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient after reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. Objective: This thesis is a case study of the physiotherapeutic care of a patient who underwent reconstruction surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament. The care occurred during an internship at rehabilitation department at FNHK hospital. The thesis includes a comprehensive theoretical introduction to the subject. Summary: This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part describes the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint and various surgical approaches to anterior cruciate ligament plastic surgery. Objective: The aim of this bachelor's thesis was a comprehensive elaboration and summary of theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to physiotherapeutic care after reoperation of a total hip replacement. Title: Postural stability in Ultimate frisbee players Aims: The aim of the work is to objectively measure and evaluate the dynamic postural stability of a deliberately selected group of Czech Utimate frisbee (UF) players and then compare the measured results with the "Athles Norm 20-30" (AN 20-30) standard, set for the sporting population. The postural stability of the research group of probands was measured once using the computer dynamic posturography - NeuroCom Smart EquiTest System. A partial goal of the work was to describe the results of measuring postural stability with respect to pivoting. This characteristic movement is used by UF players to obtain a suitable position for passing to a teammateduring the game. Methods: This is a scientific research work, specifically a quantitative observational cross-sectional study. Title: Comparison of performance of pediatric patients with diagnosis of cystic fibrosis before and after a lung transplantation. Objectives: To compare selected parameters of pediatric patients as an index of physical condition in time before and 1 year after transplantation. To compare a group of patients that undergone longtherm intensive physiotherapeutic treatment before transplantation with group of patients that did not using spirometric parameters FVC, FEV1 and BMI. To compare subjective signs of dyspnea between these groups using selected questionnaires. Methods: This theses was attended by 15 probands (7 boys and 8 girls) in age between 12 and 18 years. The data were collected by using selected dyspnea questionares and by using hospital documentation files taking place at the Motol University Hospital. The data were statistically analysed using Jamovi programme, mostly using correlations and paired T- test, and graphically analysed by using MS Excel programme. Results: We found changes of spirometric parameters in the level of significance of p < 0,001 (FEV1) and p = 0,003 (FVC) after transplantation in comparison with time before transplantation. The Aim of the Study: The aim of this diploma thesis is to capture the change of clinical state of patients with spinal cord injury while watching videos of virtual reality fot three 3 months using ASIA assessment. The goal is to determine the effect of the change of clinical state on the patient's quality of life while using SQUALA and on their imagery ability (WIAQ) while a therapeutic video of virtual reality is regularly played through virtual reality headset. Methods: The research was conducted with 7 probands (n=7, 5 males, 2 females) aged between 31 and 61 years (the average age of 49,6 years), which regular visitors of Centrum Paraple, o. p. s. The propands who participated in research suffer with incomplete spinal lesion. Before any intervention the probands were assessed by ASIA, standardised assessment to estimate neurological level of spinal lesion by assigning the number of motor and sensitive points in each segment. Furthermore, this thesis aims to compare whether painful knee joint syndromes affect these parameters in any way. Methods: A group of 40 probands with a total average age of 27 years and a unilateral painful knee joint syndrome, at least 6 months apart from incidental injuries/surgeries, underwent a complex clinical examination with a focus on the researched aspects associated with knee joint problems. Anežka Zasadilová Title: The effect of physiotherapy on patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to design a therapeutic unit and evaluate its effect on long-term treatment in the therapy of selected patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease Methods: The group of patients treated for esophageal reflux disease was examined using a standardized questionnaire, esophageal manometry and postural tests. This was followed by a two-month therapy aimed at stretching and strengthening the diaphragm using several physiotherapeutic methods. After completing the therapy, the probands were measured again as in the same way as in the initial examination. The obtained data were evaluated by statistical analysis using a nonparametric test for one selection (Wilcoxon test). Results: The evaluation of the questionnaire survey resulted in the value of p-value = 0.007265, ie less than the selected level of alpha significance (= 0.05). Title: Case study of Physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient after implantation of total knee joint replacement Objectives: The aim of this work was to elaborate a case report of a patient with a knee joint replacement, find theoretical background for this diagnosis and apply acquired knowledge in therapy. Methods: The work consists of a theoretical and a special part. The theoretical part deals with the anatomy and kinesiology of the knee joint, osteoarthritis and its treatment, an implantation of a total knee replacement as a surgical method of osteoarthritis treatment, rehabilitation after the implantation of the total knee endoprosthesis and appropriate physiotherapeutic techniques during patient's care after the implantation. A special part is elaborated in the form of a case study of a patient after an implantation of a total knee replacement. The bachelor thesis explores balance and cognitive disorders in the context of physiotherapy. Balance disorders and cognitive impairment are important risk factors for falls. The aim of the thesis is to provide fundamental information based on available evidence in literature and briefly outline the importance of physiotherapy in patients with balance and cognitive impairment. In the practical part of the thesis is presented a detailed case study of a physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with balance disorder and cognitive impairment due to encephalopathy. The treatment focused on application of techniques which are beneficial for improvement of the balance as well as cognitive functions. At the end of the therapeutic intervention patient have improved stand and gait balance as well as coordination of motion and cognitive performance and also there was a significant reduction of fatigue and fall risk. We used standardized assessments methods to measure the effect of the treatment: The Tinetti Balance and Gait Test, Berg Balance Scale, Montreal Cognitive Assessment and Barthel Index for Activities of Daily Living.

"Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with Pain in the Medial Part of the Left Calf" The following Bachelor thesis took place at the outpatient rehabilitation department of the Central Military Hospital, in Prague, for a period of two weeks. The aim of this work is, firstly, to present a theoretical overview about the area of the body subject to the patient's complain, exploring the leg and the triceps surae from an anatomical and kinesiological perspective. Then the muscular pathological finding that is the most probable cause of the patient's pain is investigated. Title: Effect of mechanical correction and active exercise in the treatment of deformity of the fifth toe - Tailor's bunion Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to identify the effect of mechanical correction and active physiotherapeutic intervention in the treatment of deformity Tailor's bunion. Methods: This is a quantitative-qualitative experimental study involving 10 probands aged 19 to 25 with flexible Tailor's bunion deformity, 6 out of 10 probands had bilateral deformity and the remaining probands unilateral deformity. In this thesis, passive intervention in the form of mechanical axial correction of V. MTP joint by strapping tape was used and active intervention in the form of selected active exercise aimed at evaluating (identifying) the effect on selected foot parameters. Objectives: The main aim of this work was to summarize theoretical and practical knowledge about total hip replacement and to process a case study of a patient with this diagnosis. Methods: This work consists of two main parts - general and special part. The general part contains information about hip joint anatomy and kinesiology, coxarthrosis, congenital hip dysplasia, total hip replacement and rehabilitation after total hip replacement. A special part is processed in the form of a case study of a patient after implantation of total hip replacement. "Case Study of a Patient after Partial Hip Replacement" The following Bachelor thesis case study took place in Orthopedic Surgery department of the Central Military Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic. This thesis has been divided in to two section. The first section is a generally theoretical section that describes the lower limb, anatomy, biomechanics, kinesiology and a basic general outlook on the femoral bone fractures and intervention. The second section which is the practical part of this thesis is focused on the analyses of a patient post a partial hip replacement surgery that's a consequence of a proximal femoral bone fracture. The section contains physiotherapeutic examinations that relate to the patient's condition and help clearly understand her overall clinical picture. The main goals of therapy approach was to reduce the patient's pain, restore function of the hip and the lower extremity in general to its optimal condition to enable the patient to resume activities of daily living. Title: Comparison of Rehabilitation Procedures in the Operative and Conservative Approach to Manage Chest deformity in Children Aim: The aim of this thesis is to determine the efficacy of a conservative approach in the treatment of inverted chest and to compare the effect of therapy with the surgical approach. Methodology of thesis: At the beginning of this project, a total of 9 children and adolescents (n = 9) from 10 years to 21 years of age (mean 15 years), male and female (8: 1) participated. All participants were diagnosed with thoracic deformity of pectus excavatum, which was not indicated for surgery. At the beginning of the project, all probands passed an initial examination, which included an obtaining of anthropometric values using a pelvimeter and a tailor's meter, to assess the anthropometric index and chest circumferences during breathing. Subsequently, a rehabilitation instructions have been given to all participants and all participants have obtained a printed version of these exercises. Results: The results of this study show that in patients with pectus excavatum, the regular and long term exercises, can bring the expected positive results. Aim: The aim of this thesis is to introduce the issue of disease of ankylosing spondylitis, focusing on physiotherapy treatment in this disease. Title: Effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on strengthening of deep neck flexors in patients with cervicogenic headache Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the effectiveness of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on relieving or reduction headaches in patients diagnosed with cervicogenic headache. Methods: This is a pilot study involving 10 patients diagnosed with cervicogenic headache in the age range of 23-41 years. Patients participated in proprioceptive neuromuscular head and neck therapy, which took place 3 times per week for 5 weeks. Patients on the first and last therapy completed the Neck Disability Index, the measurements were done twice a week. It was a measurement of performance index of deep neck flexors by means of a craniocervical flexion test and evaluation of pain on visual analogue scales. The statistical method - paired t-test was used to analyze the obtained data. Results: The results of this thesis show that proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation therapy is effective in elimination or reduction of headaches in patients diagnosed with cervicogenic headache. Title: Incidence of injuries at top badminton players depending on physiotherapy and compensatory programmes Objectives: The main aim of this study is to find out what are the most frequent injuries at top badminton players taking part in the Czech extra league and in the first league in the season 2017/2018. Besides, the aim is also to find out if physiotherapy and compensatory programmes influence the decrease of the incidence of these injuries. And then, if badminton players devote thein time to compensatory programmes and use the possibilities of physiotherapy. Methods: For finding out the most frequent injuries at top badminton players we used a non-standardised questionnaire. The research had the character of a correlative - predilective study which studied the relationship between the incidence of injuries in badminton depending on physiotherapy and compensatory programmes. Results: The most frequent injuries among the Czech badminton players occur in the area of an ankle (47%), knee (34%) and shoulder joint (22%). Title: The effect of rhythmic auditory stimulation on gait in patients with Multiple Sclerosis Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the effect of rhythmic auditory stimulation on gait in patients with multiple sclerosis using GAITRite and Timed 25-Foot Walk test (T25FW). Furthermore, we investigated the effect of rhythmic auditory stimulation on the patients' subjective perception of their gait using the standardised MSWS-12 questionnaire. Methods: Twenty-eight individuals were recruited for the study. The intervention group comprised 14 patients (2 men, 12 women, average age - 34 years) with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis of ≤ 6.0 on Kurtzke Expanded Disability Status Scale. The control group comprised 14 healthy individuals (2 men, 12 women, average age - 36 yrs). All recruited individuals must have been older than 18 years old.
