As noted by Heydenrych and Case (2017), tracing graduates using traditional survey method is known for its low response rate. In his study on the graduate destinations of chemical engineering in South Africa, he proposed the use of alternative methodology for similar research. To this date, only two studies have been confirmed to have used LinkedIn as the primary source of data for the employment information of chemical engineering graduates in the University of Cape Town (see Case, et al., 2013 and Heydenrych & Case, 2017). The purpose of this study is to determine the graduation destination of radiologic technology graduates from St. Jude College Dasmarinas, Cavite (SJCDC). The college had been offering a degree program for Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) since 2008, but there has been no tracer study conducted to determine the whereabouts of alumni in this program. This study follows the methodology of Heydenrych and Case (2017) who also used LinkedIn as the primary source of information about the destinations of graduates of chemical engineering in University of Cape Town. Results show that most radiologic technology graduates are currently employed in occupations that are aligned to their degree, suggesting that their undergraduate education prepares them for professional work in radiologic technology. Limitations were discussed and the conclusion attests to the usefulness of LinkedIn as an alternative source of information about the graduation destinations.

We compute the conductor exponents at odd places using the machinery of cluster pictures of curves for three infinite families of hyperelliptic curves. These are families of Frey hyperelliptic curves constructed by Kraus and Darmon in the study of the generalised Fermat equations of signatures $(r,r,p)$ and $(p,p,r)$, respectively. Here, $r$ is a fixed prime number and $p$ is a prime that is allowed to vary. In the context of the modular method, Billerey-Chen-Dieulefait-Freitas computed all conductor exponents for the signature $(r,r,p)$. We recover their computations at odd places, providing an alternative approach. In a similar setup, Chen-Koutsianas computed all conductor exponents for the signature $(p,p,5)$. Diagnosing and treating skin diseases require advanced visual skills across multiple domains and the ability to synthesize information from various imaging modalities. Current deep learning models, while effective at specific tasks such as diagnosing skin cancer from dermoscopic images, fall short in addressing the complex, multimodal demands of clinical practice. Here, we introduce PanDerm, a multimodal dermatology foundation model pretrained through self-supervised learning on a dataset of over 2 million real-world images of skin diseases, sourced from 11 clinical institutions across 4 imaging modalities. We evaluated PanDerm on 28 diverse datasets covering a range of clinical tasks, including skin cancer screening, phenotype assessment and risk stratification, diagnosis of neoplastic and inflammatory skin diseases, skin lesion segmentation, change monitoring, and metastasis prediction and prognosis. PanDerm achieved state-of-the-art performance across all evaluated tasks, often outperforming existing models even when using only 5-10% of labeled data. PanDerm's clinical utility was demonstrated through reader studies in real-world clinical settings across multiple imaging modalities. It outperformed clinicians by 10.2% in early-stage melanoma detection accuracy and enhanced clinicians' multiclass skin cancer diagnostic accuracy by 11% in a collaborative human-AI setting. Additionally, PanDerm demonstrated robust performance across diverse demographic factors, including different body locations, age groups, genders, and skin tones. The strong results in benchmark evaluations and real-world clinical scenarios suggest that PanDerm could enhance the management of skin diseases and serve as a model for developing multimodal foundation models in other medical specialties, potentially accelerating the integration of AI support in healthcare., Comment: 56 pages; Technical report

This article introduces an artistic research project that utilises artist-in-residency and exhibition as methods for exploring the possibilities of robotic 3D printing and ceramics. The interdisciplinary project unites artists and architects to collaborate on a proposed curatorial concept and Do-It-With-Others (DIWO) technological development. Constraints include material, specifically local clay, production technique, namely 3D printing with a robotic arm, and kiln size, as well as an exhibition concept that is further elaborated in the next chapter. The pictorial presents four projects as case studies demonstrating how the creatives integrate these constraints into their processes. This integration leads to the subsequent refinement and customization of the robotic-ceramics interface, aligning with the practitioners' requirements through software development. The project's focus extends beyond artistic outcomes, aiming also to advance the pipeline of 3D robotic printing in clay, employing a digitally controlled material press that has been developed in-house, with its functionality refined through practice.

The Visual Monitoring Camera (VMC) is a small imaging instrument onboard Mars Express with a field of view of ~40x30 degrees. The camera was initially intended to provide visual confirmation of the separation of the Beagle 2 lander and has similar technical specifications to a typical webcam of the 2000s. In 2007, a few years after the end of its original mission, VMC was turned on again to obtain full-disk images of Mars to be used for outreach purposes. As VMC obtained more images, the scientific potential of the camera became evident, and in 2018 the camera was given an upgraded status of a new scientific instrument, with science goals in the field of Martian atmosphere meteorology. The wide Field of View of the camera combined with the orbit of Mars Express enable the acquisition of full-disk images of the planet showing different local times, which for a long time has been rare among orbital missions around Mars. The small data volume of images also allows videos that show the atmospheric dynamics of dust and cloud systems to be obtained. This paper is intended to be the new reference paper for VMC as a scientific instrument, and thus provides an overview of the updated procedures to plan, command and execute science observations of the Martian atmosphere. These observations produce valuable science data that is calibrated and distributed to the community for scientific use.

Facial dysmorphologies have emerged as potential critical indicators in the diagnosis and prognosis of genetic, psychotic and rare disorders. While in certain conditions these dysmorphologies are severe, in other cases may be subtle and not perceivable to the human eye, requiring precise quantitative tools for their identification. Manual coding of facial dysmorphologies is a burdensome task and is subject to inter- and intra-observer variability. To overcome this gap, we present BioFace3D as a fully automatic tool for the calculation of facial biomarkers using facial models reconstructed from magnetic resonance images. The tool is divided into three automatic modules for the extraction of 3D facial models from magnetic resonance images, the registration of homologous 3D landmarks encoding facial morphology, and the calculation of facial biomarkers from anatomical landmarks coordinates using geometric morphometrics techniques.

The geodetic closure of a set S of vertices of a graph is the set of all vertices in shortest paths between pairs of vertices of S. A set S of vertices in a graph is geodetic if its geodetic closure contains all the vertices of the graph. Buckley introduced in 1984 the idea of a game where two players construct together a geodetic set by alternately selecting vertices, the game ending when all vertices are in the geodetic closure. The Geodetic Game was then studied in 1985 by Buckley and Harary, and allowed players to select vertices already in the geodetic closure of the current set. We study the more natural variant, also introduced in 1985 by Buckley and Harary and called the Closed Geodetic Game, where the players alternate adding to a set S vertices that are not in the geodetic closure of S, until no move is available. This variant was only studied ever since for trees by Araujo et al. in 2024. We provide a full characterization of the Sprague-Grundy values of graph classes such as paths and cycles, of the outcomes of several products of graphs in function of the outcomes of the two graphs, and give polynomial-time algorithms to determine the Sprague-Grundy values of cactus and block graphs., Comment: 20 pages

Driven by the progress in efficient embedded processing, there is an accelerating trend toward running machine learning models directly on wearable Brain-Machine Interfaces (BMIs) to improve portability and privacy and maximize battery life. However, achieving low latency and high classification performance remains challenging due to the inherent variability of electroencephalographic (EEG) signals across sessions and the limited onboard resources. This work proposes a comprehensive BMI workflow based on a CNN-based Continual Learning (CL) framework, allowing the system to adapt to inter-session changes. The workflow is deployed on a wearable, parallel ultra-low power BMI platform (BioGAP). Our results based on two in-house datasets, Dataset A and Dataset B, show that the CL workflow improves average accuracy by up to 30.36% and 10.17%, respectively. Furthermore, when implementing the continual learning on a Parallel Ultra-Low Power (PULP) microcontroller (GAP9), it achieves an energy consumption as low as 0.45mJ per inference and an adaptation time of only 21.5ms, yielding around 25h of battery life with a small 100mAh, 3.7V battery on BioGAP. Brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) are expanding beyond clinical settings thanks to advances in hardware and algorithms. However, they still face challenges in user-friendliness and signal variability. Classification models need periodic adaptation for real-life use, making an optimal re-training strategy essential to maximize user acceptance and maintain high performance. We propose TOR, a train-on-request workflow that enables user-specific model adaptation to novel conditions, addressing signal variability over time. Using continual learning, TOR preserves knowledge across sessions and mitigates inter-session variability. With TOR, users can refine, on demand, the model through on-device learning (ODL) to enhance accuracy adapting to changing conditions. We evaluate the proposed methodology on a motor-movement dataset recorded with a non-stigmatizing wearable BMI headband, achieving up to 92% accuracy and a re-calibration time as low as 1.6 minutes, a 46% reduction compared to a naive transfer learning workflow. We additionally demonstrate that TOR is suitable for ODL in extreme edge settings by deploying the training procedure on a RISC-V ultra-low-power SoC (GAP9), resulting in 21.6 ms of latency and 1 mJ of energy consumption per training step. We present a multi-wavelength analysis of MCG+11-11-032, a nearby AGN with the unique classification of both a binary and a dual AGN candidate. With new Chandra observations we aim to resolve any dual AGN system via imaging data, and search for signs of a binary AGN via analysis of the X-ray spectrum. Analyzing the Chandra spectrum, we find no evidence of previously suggested double-peaked Fe K$\alpha$ lines; the spectrum is instead best fit by an absorbed powerlaw with a single Fe K$\alpha$ line, as well as an additional line centered at $\approx$7.5 keV. The Chandra observation reveals faint, soft, and extended X-ray emission, possibly linked to low-level nuclear outflows. Further analysis shows evidence for a compact, hard source -- MCG+11-11-032 X2 -- located 3.27'' from the primary AGN. Modeling MCG+11-11-032 X2 as a compact source, we find that it is relatively luminous ($L_{\text{2$-$10 keV}} = 1.52_{-0.48}^{+0.96}\times 10^{41}$ erg s$^{-1}$), and the location is coincident with an compact and off-nuclear source resolved in Hubble Space Telescope infrared (F105W) and ultraviolet (F621M, F547M) bands. Pairing our X-ray results with a 144 MHz radio detection at the host galaxy location, we observe X-ray and radio properties similar to those of ESO 243-49 HLX-1, suggesting that MCG+11-11-032 X2 may be a hyper-luminous X-ray source. This detection with Chandra highlights the importance of a high-resolution X-ray imager, and how previous binary AGN candidates detected with large-aperture instruments benefit from high-resolution follow-up. We present a benchmarking protocol that combines the characterization of boron nitride (BN) crystals and films with the evaluation of the electronic properties of graphene on these substrates. Our study includes hBN crystals grown under different conditions and scalable BN films deposited by either chemical or physical vapor deposition (CVD or PVD). We explore the complete process from boron nitride growth, over its optical characterization by time-resolved cathodoluminescence (TRCL), to the optical and electronic characterization of graphene by Raman spectroscopy after encapsulation and Hall bar processing. Within our benchmarking protocol we achieve a homogeneous electronic performance within each Hall bar device through a fast and reproducible processing routine. We find that a free exciton lifetime of 1 ns measured on as-grown hBN crystals by TRCL is sufficient to achieve high graphene room temperature charge carrier mobilities of 80,000 cm$^2$/(Vs) at a carrier density of |n| = 10$^{12}$ cm$^{-2}$, while respective exciton lifetimes around 100 ps yield mobilities up to 30,000 cm$^2$/(Vs). For scalable PVD-grown BN films, we measure carrier mobilities exceeding 10,000 cm$^2$/(Vs) which correlates with a graphene Raman 2D peak linewidth of 22 cm$^{-1}$. Our work highlights the importance of the Raman 2D linewidth of graphene as a critical metric that effectively assesses the interface quality (i.e. surface roughness) to the BN substrate, which directly affects the charge carrier mobility of graphene. Graphene 2D linewidth analysis is suitable for all BN substrates and is particularly advantageous when TRCL or BN Raman spectroscopy cannot be applied to specific BN materials such as amorphous or thin films. The transformation of pristine natural scenes into human-made and industrialized landscapes through viewer interaction serves as a stark reminder of environmental degradation. The paper thoroughly explores the technical challenges and artistic innovations involved in creating such an interactive art installation, emphasizing the potential of generative AI to revolutionize artistic expression, audience engagement, and especially the opportunities for the interactive art field. It offers insights into the conceptual framework behind the artwork, aiming to evoke a deeper understanding and reflection on the Anthropocene era and human-induced climate change. Haldane's seminal work established two fundamentally different types of excitation spectra for antiferromagnetic Heisenberg quantum spin chains: gapped excitations in integer-spin chains and gapless excitations in half-integer-spin chains. In finite-length half-integer spin chains, quantization, however, induces a gap in the excitation spectrum, with the upper bound given by the Lieb-Schulz-Mattis (LSM) theorem. Here, we investigate the length-dependent excitations in spin-1/2 Heisenberg chains obtained by covalently linking olympicenes--Olympic rings shaped nanographenes carrying spin-1/2--into one-dimensional chains. The large exchange interaction (J~38 mV) between olympicenes and the negligible magnetic anisotropy in these nanographenes make them an ideal platform for studying quantum spin excitations, which we directly measure using inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy. We observe a power-law decay of the lowest excitation energy with increasing chain length L, remaining below the LSM boundary. In a long chain with L = 50, a nearly V-shaped excitation continuum is observed, reinforcing the system's gapless nature in the thermodynamic limit. Finally, we visualize the standing wave of a single spinon confined in odd-numbered chains using low-bias current maps. Only a few short months ago, Generative AI was sold to us as inevitable by the leadership of AI companies, those who partnered with them, and venture capitalists. As certain elements of the media promoted and amplified these claims, public discourse online buzzed with what each new beta release could be made to do with a few simple prompts. As AI became a viral sensation, every business tried to become an AI business. Some businesses added "AI" to their names to juice their stock prices, and companies talking about "AI" on their earnings calls saw similar increases. While the Generative AI hype bubble is now slowly deflating, its harmful effects will last.

XR devices running chat-bots powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) have tremendous potential as always-on agents that can enable much better productivity scenarios. However, screen based chat-bots do not take advantage of the the full-suite of natural inputs available in XR, including inward facing sensor data, instead they over-rely on explicit voice or text prompts, sometimes paired with multi-modal data dropped as part of the query. We propose a solution that leverages an attention framework that derives context implicitly from user actions, eye-gaze, and contextual memory within the XR environment. This minimizes the need for engineered explicit prompts, fostering grounded and intuitive interactions that glean user insights for the chat-bot. Our user studies demonstrate the imminent feasibility and transformative potential of our approach to streamline user interaction in XR with chat-bots, while offering insights for the design of future XR-embodied LLM agents.

Spherical or omni-directional images offer an immersive visual format appealing to a wide range of computer vision applications. However, geometric properties of spherical images pose a major challenge for models and metrics designed for ordinary 2D images. Here, we show that direct application of Fr\'echet Inception Distance (FID) is insufficient for quantifying geometric fidelity in spherical images. We introduce two quantitative metrics accounting for geometric constraints, namely Omnidirectional FID (OmniFID) and Discontinuity Score (DS). OmniFID is an extension of FID tailored to additionally capture field-of-view requirements of the spherical format by leveraging cubemap projections. DS is a kernel-based seam alignment score of continuity across borders of 2D representations of spherical images. Hexagonal boron nitride is rapidly gaining interest as a platform for photonic quantum technologies, due to its two-dimensional nature and its ability to host defects deep within its large band gap that may act as room-temperature single-photon emitters. In this review paper we provide an overview of (1) the structure, properties, growth and transfer of hexagonal boron nitride; (2) the creation and assignment of colour centres in hexagonal boron nitride for applications in photonic quantum technologies; and (3) heterostructure devices for the electrical tuning and charge control of colour centres that form the basis for photonic quantum technology devices. In randomized controlled trials, forest plots are frequently used to investigate the homogeneity of treatment effect estimates in subgroups. However, the interpretation of subgroup-specific treatment effect estimates requires great care due to the smaller sample size of subgroups and the large number of investigated subgroups. Bayesian shrinkage methods have been proposed to address these issues, but they often focus on disjoint subgroups while subgroups displayed in forest plots are overlapping, i.e., each subject appears in multiple subgroups. In our approach, we first build a flexible Cox model based on all available observations, including categorical covariates that identify the subgroups of interest and their interactions with the treatment group variable. We explore both penalized partial likelihood estimation with a lasso or ridge penalty for treatment-by-covariate interaction terms, and Bayesian estimation with a regularized horseshoe prior. One advantage of the Bayesian approach is the ability to derive credible intervals for shrunken subgroup-specific estimates. In a second step, the Cox model is marginalized to obtain treatment effect estimates for all subgroups. We illustrate these methods using data from a randomized clinical trial in follicular lymphoma and evaluate their properties in a simulation study. In all simulation scenarios, the overall mean-squared error is substantially smaller for penalized and shrinkage estimators compared to the standard subgroup-specific treatment effect estimator but leads to some bias for heterogeneous subgroups. We recommend that subgroup-specific estimators, which are typically displayed in forest plots, are more routinely complemented by treatment effect estimators based on shrinkage methods. This study presents a novel approach for EEG-based seizure detection leveraging a BERT-based model. The model, BENDR, undergoes a two-phase training process. Initially, it is pre-trained on the extensive Temple University Hospital EEG Corpus (TUEG), a 1.5 TB dataset comprising over 10,000 subjects, to extract common EEG data patterns. Subsequently, the model is fine-tuned on the CHB-MIT Scalp EEG Database, consisting of 664 EEG recordings from 24 pediatric patients, of which 198 contain seizure events. Key contributions include optimizing fine-tuning on the CHB-MIT dataset, where the impact of model architecture, pre-processing, and post-processing techniques are thoroughly examined to enhance sensitivity and reduce false positives per hour (FP/h). We also explored custom training strategies to ascertain the most effective setup. The model undergoes a novel second pre-training phase before subject-specific fine-tuning, enhancing its generalization capabilities. The optimized model demonstrates substantial performance enhancements, achieving as low as 0.23 FP/h, 2.5$\times$ lower than the baseline model, with a lower but still acceptable sensitivity rate, showcasing the effectiveness of applying a BERT-based approach on EEG-based seizure detection., Comment: 4 pages, 2 tables, 2 figures

Since the early 2000s, cultural institutions have been instrumental in reshaping public spaces, fostering community engagement, and nurturing artistic innovation. Central to these initiatives are audience interaction and participation concepts, yet their definitions and applications in urban media art remain nebulous. This article endeavours to demystify these terms, examining the distinct characteristics and intersections of interactive and participatory art within urban contexts. A particular emphasis is placed on artworks that harmonise both elements, exploring the motivations and outcomes of this synthesis. The case study of We Are The Clouds serves as a focal point, exemplifying how strategic integration of interaction and participation can enhance community connection and reinvigorate public spaces. Through this analysis, the paper underscores the transformative power of urban media artworks in redefining neighbourhood experiences, empowering local voices, and revitalising the essence of public realms.

Surface Acoustic Waves (SAW) have been used frequently in spintronic applications, mostly to decrease the magnetic field or the electric current required to move magnetic domain walls (DW). Because the SAW cannot achieve magnetic switching without the assistance of a magnetic field or a current, for a marginal improvement in the energy required for the magnetic switching, the device gains in complexity, making it impractical. In this work, we report a mechanism that allows a transfer of linear momentum from the acoustic wave to the magnetic domain wall. Experimentally we show that, using the appropriate dimensions of the magnetic strip, the SAW can move the DW in the same direction as the traveling SAW. With the help of micromagnetic simulations, we reveal a complex yet direct mechanism that allows the SAW to push the DW in the same direction of its travel, even without any external field or currents. The DW can reach velocities in the range of 100 m/s and at a very small energetic cost, equivalent to using a current density of $\sim 5 \cdot 10^4 A/cm^2$ if the movement was triggered by spin transfer. Intelligent assistance involves not only understanding but also action. Existing ego-centric video datasets contain rich annotations of the videos, but not of actions that an intelligent assistant could perform in the moment. To address this gap, we release PARSE-Ego4D, a new set of personal action recommendation annotations for the Ego4D dataset. We take a multi-stage approach to generating and evaluating these annotations. First, we used a prompt-engineered large language model (LLM) to generate context-aware action suggestions and identified over 18,000 action suggestions. While these synthetic action suggestions are valuable, the inherent limitations of LLMs necessitate human evaluation. To ensure high-quality and user-centered recommendations, we conducted a large-scale human annotation study that provides grounding in human preferences for all of PARSE-Ego4D. We analyze the inter-rater agreement and evaluate subjective preferences of participants. Based on our synthetic dataset and complete human annotations, we propose several new tasks for action suggestions based on ego-centric videos. We encourage novel solutions that improve latency and energy requirements. The annotations in PARSE-Ego4D will support researchers and developers who are working on building action recommendation systems for augmented and virtual reality systems.

Virtual, Mixed, and Augmented Reality (XR) technologies hold immense potential for transforming productivity beyond PC. Therefore there is a critical need for improved text input solutions for XR. However, achieving efficient text input in these environments remains a significant challenge. This paper examines the current landscape of XR text input techniques, focusing on the importance of keyboards (both physical and virtual) as essential tools. We discuss the unique challenges and opportunities presented by XR, synthesizing key trends from existing solutions.

Recent advancements in head-mounted wearable technology are revolutionizing the field of biopotential measurement, but the integration of these technologies into practical, user-friendly devices remains challenging due to issues with design intrusiveness, comfort, and data privacy. To address these challenges, this paper presents GAPSES, a novel smart glasses platform designed for unobtrusive, comfortable, and secure acquisition and processing of electroencephalography (EEG) and electrooculography (EOG) signals. We introduce a direct electrode-electronics interface with custom fully dry soft electrodes to enhance comfort for long wear. An integrated parallel ultra-low-power RISC-V processor (GAP9, Greenwaves Technologies) processes data at the edge, thereby eliminating the need for continuous data streaming through a wireless link, enhancing privacy, and increasing system reliability in adverse channel conditions. We demonstrate the broad applicability of the designed prototype through validation in a number of EEG-based interaction tasks, including alpha waves, steady-state visual evoked potential analysis, and motor movement classification. Furthermore, we demonstrate an EEG-based biometric subject recognition task, where we reach a sensitivity and specificity of 98.87% and 99.86% respectively, with only 8 EEG channels and an energy consumption per inference on the edge as low as 121 uJ. Moreover, in an EOG-based eye movement classification task, we reach an accuracy of 96.68% on 11 classes, resulting in an information transfer rate of 94.78 bit/min, which can be further increased to 161.43 bit/min by reducing the accuracy to 81.43%. The deployed implementation has an energy consumption of 24 uJ per inference and a total system power of only 16.28 mW, allowing for continuous operation of more than 12 h with a small 75 mAh battery., Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, 5 tables. Estimating the marginally adjusted dose-response curve for continuous treatments is a longstanding statistical challenge critical across multiple fields. In the context of parametric models, mis-specification may result in substantial bias, hindering the accurate discernment of the true data generating distribution and the associated dose-response curve. In contrast, non-parametric models face difficulties as the dose-response curve isn't pathwise differentiable, and then there is no $\sqrt{n}$-consistent estimator. The emergence of the Highly Adaptive Lasso (HAL) MLE by van der Laan [2015] and van der Laan [2017] and the subsequent theoretical evidence by van der Laan [2023] regarding its pointwise asymptotic normality and uniform convergence rates, have highlighted the asymptotic efficacy of the HAL-based plug-in estimator for this intricate problem. This paper delves into the HAL-based plug-in estimators, including those with cross-validation and undersmoothing selectors, and introduces the undersmoothed smoothness-adaptive HAL-based plug-in estimator. We assess these estimators through extensive simulations, employing detailed evaluation metrics. Building upon the theoretical proofs in van der Laan [2023], our empirical findings underscore the asymptotic effectiveness of the undersmoothed smoothness-adaptive HAL-based plug-in estimator in estimating the marginally adjusted dose-response curve.

Commercially impactful quantum algorithms such as quantum chemistry and Shor's algorithm require a number of qubits and gates far beyond the capacity of any existing quantum processor. Distributed architectures, which scale horizontally by networking modules, provide a route to commercial utility and will eventually surpass the capability of any single quantum computing module. Such processors consume remote entanglement distributed between modules to realize distributed quantum logic. Networked quantum computers will therefore require the capability to rapidly distribute high fidelity entanglement between modules. Here we present preliminary demonstrations of some key distributed quantum computing protocols on silicon T centres in isotopically-enriched silicon. We demonstrate the distribution of entanglement between modules and consume it to apply a teleported gate sequence, establishing a proof-of-concept for T centres as a distributed quantum computing and networking platform., Comment: 14 pages, 13 figures

We develop a multimodal classifier for the cultural heritage domain using a late fusion approach and introduce a novel dataset. The three modalities are Image, Text, and Tabular data. We based the image classifier on a ResNet convolutional neural network architecture and the text classifier on a multilingual transformer architecture (XML-Roberta). Both are trained as multitask classifiers and use the focal loss to handle class imbalance. Tabular data and late fusion are handled by Gradient Tree Boosting. We also show how we leveraged specific data models and taxonomy in a Knowledge Graph to create the dataset and to store classification results. All individual classifiers accurately predict missing properties in the digitized silk artifacts, with the multimodal approach providing the best results.
