In this work the performance of U-Shaped Steel Isolator is evaluated for a 5-story building subjected to seismic and blast vibrations. The structure is analysed using SAP 2000 software and a nonlinear time history analysis is carried out. The effectiveness of using base isolation is studied by comparing the structural responses of the building with isolator and without isolator and noticeable difference was observed. As the U-Shaped isolator absorbs the energy in all directions, it effectively controls the structural responses. In this study, the building is subjected to four different seismic and four different blast induced ground motions. It was observed that by the use of supplementary energy device there is reduction in top story acceleration, base shear and less deformation in the structure. This study concludes that the use of isolator has been effective in minimizing structural responses.

In the present paper work an attempt has been made to study the dynamic behaviour of the elevated water tank staging by using x-plate metallic damper subjected to blast induced ground vibrations. The main objective of this study is to reduce the damage of the elevated water tank by providing structural response control devices. The water tank staging is modelled in SAP 2000 and non-linear time history analysis is carried out to know the performance of the metallic damper under four different intensity blast induced ground motions and comparing the performance of structure without damper case. After the completion of analysis, the results show that by using metallic damper bending moment, shear force and displacements are comparatively reduced when compared to the without damper case. From this study observed that metallic x-plate damper is effectively reduced the structural responses under blast excitations.

In this present study aims to evaluate the performance of base isolation device under different intensity blast induced ground excitations for an elevated water tank staging. In this study mainly focused to improve the performance of the base isolator and minimize the damage of the structure. To know the performance of base isolator two models are considered one is fixed base model and another one is supported with base isolator model for both non-linear time history analysis is carried out with the help of SAP 2000 software subjected to four different underground blast intensities. From the analysis, it is observed that by using base isolator supported model structural responsive parameters such as base shear, top storey accelerations are efficiently reduced when compared to the fixed base structure. Hence it is proved that adopting base isolation technique we considerably reduce the damage of the structure subjected to underground blast vibrations.

In the present paper an investigation is carried out to evaluate the efficiency of Base Isolation device in a building subjected to both seismic and blast induced ground motions. A 5-story building is modelled with different story stiffness and floor masses is considered in this study. In SAP 2000 software two buildings, one with fixed base and the other with isolated base are designed and nonlinear time history analysis is conducted. The structural responses of these two models subjected to four recorded earthquakes and four different blast ground accelerations is compared in this study. The base isolated device such as lead/rubber bearing have proved to be effective in reducing the base Shear and Top story acceleration, and also increase in Hysteresis energy in the base isolated structure subjected to seismic and blast vibrations.

Researches in past reviewed for base isolation analysis using response spectrum it is found that the design in ancient time are not sure and safe due to lake of technology and lesser software analysis availabilities. Some countries applied base isolation these days and the building response constructed with base isolation performed better at practical ground. The response of base isolated building is lesser in terms of amplitude and the cost of the building can also be optimized. Many researchers studied for this subject and they concluded that base isolation must be applied in critical seismic zones and the isolators must be used to save lives and properties. It is seen that Indian construction practices are lacking to apply use of base isolation in building design. It is suggested in the end that it must be motivated to study and research base isolation in Indian constrains and conditions.

Performance based analysis is conducted on a structure to know the performance of building under severe earthquake loads with limited and well-distributed damage. To do this analysis a non-linear static analysis called pushover analysis had conducted on the structure. In this paper, an RC building with both 5 storey and 10 storey is designed for both gravity loads and earthquake resistant loads using SAP2000 software. Analysis is done in both X and Y direction to get a damage curve (pushover curve). By studying the damage curve, the results that obtained are earthquake resistant designed building had more strength when compared to gravity load designed building and it is better to consider earthquake in building design , because gravity loads alone cannot give the adequate results.

Non-linear static analysis or pushover analysis is now-a –days generally preferred by many researchers to analyse the non-linear behaviour of the structure. Present study includes the effect of joint rigidity on the behaviour of the structure. A building is modeled with 5 and 10 story and designed for gravity and earthquake resistant loads by considering joint rigidity factor as 0 and 1. The analysis is done in both X and Y directions by using pushover analysis in SAP2000 software. Comparison is made between then capacity curves obtained from designed models of rigidity and non-rigidity models. From the results it is concluded that structure designed using joint rigidity has more strength when compared non-rigid joints.

Many water tanks are pull-down during post-earthquake due to failure of water tank staging and this occurs because of the dynamic behaviour of the water tank staging that leads to collapse of water tank. These are important elements during post-earthquake that must be in service. In this study to reduce the damage of water tank staging by installation of additional dissipation devices known as dampers made up of X-plate steel and aluminum and these are effective in reduction of damage of structures, gives the additional damping and additional stiffness to the structure. For this study water tank staging’s with different heights are modeled in SAP-2000 and performed nonlinear dynamic analysis under four real ground motions with and without damper. After the analysis the results obtained is, Displacement, shear force, amount of energy dissipation, maximum axial force and bending moment compared with and without damper and significantly reduced.

Holistically, after the green revolution, India has been a global agricultural powerhouse of various crops and in present most of the farmers adopt the traditional irrigation methods but challenging task is in utilizing minimum water resource for more productivity per crop in diversified Indian environmental conditions. Water is a precious & scarce resource in many areas of the country due to traditional agricultural irrigation & industrial use. Hence, to limit water loss & wastage in farming it is important for maximum water application efficiency. Indeed, Systematic Irrigation System (SIS) for farming is need of hour and hence, attempt is made for development of SIS using computational device, and NodeMCU & Sensor technology are illustrated in this article. The SIS prototype has developed deploying ESP8266 Wi-Fi SoC development board and various sensors such as humidity, temperature, soil moisture, PIR & rain sensor . Graphic User Interface is developed in Blynk platform. This prototype has been tested in the laboratory successfully for application efficiency and has found good performance as expected.
