Abstract

The article discusses the program created by the American School of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland to prepare their students to become world citizens. With the aim of making the students culturally aware, the school conducted a United Nations Day to commemorate the founding of the organization as well as broaden the knowledge of the students regarding world affairs. The school also developed programs that include global perspective such as reading books written by different foreign authors.

Abstract

A 65-yr-old man who developed sudden respiratory arrest was found to have a long, smooth, esophageal filling defect on esophagogram. Endoscopy eventually proved this to he a large esophageal polypoid lesion that had arisen in the hypopharynx and extended to the midesophagus. He was successfully treated with a lateral pharyngotomy and excision of the hypopharyngeal polyp. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
