Adenomatoid odontogenic tumour (AOT) is an uncommon, hamartomatous, benign epitheial lesion of odontogenic origin. The current World Health Organisation (WHO) classification of odontogenic tumors defines AOT as being composed of the odontogenic epithelium in a variety of histoarchitectural patterns, embedded in mature connective tissue stroma, and characterized by slow, but progressive growth. The aim of this paper is to present three rare cases of intraosseous AOTs with varied clinical and radiographic features imposing the fact that AOT should be included in differential diagnosis of routine odontogenic cysts and tumours. Maximum entropy (MaxEnt) modeling was used to predict impact of climate change on habitat suitability of guava fruit fly, Bactrocera correcta in India. It is a polyphagus pest on a wide variety of fruit crops. Future prediction of potential habitat of B.correcta was done for the year 2050 and 2070 with RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5, RCP 6.0 and RCP 8.5 climate scenarios. The model preformed better than random with an average test AUC value of 0.75 of 100 replicate tests run. Under the present and future climatic conditions, the model predicted high habitat suitable category for B. correcta in the areas of south-western coastal (Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra and Gujarat) part of India by 2050 and 2070. Presently absolute unsuitable areas of Indian sub-continent are projected to be slightly suitable for B. correcta by 2070 due to increase in temperature coupled with decrease in cold stress. The predictive modeling approach presented here provides an outline for future risk of B.correcta in India under climate change scenarios, which can be used for its better management strategies. The oriental fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) is a major pest of mango crop in India and the present studies conducted to estimate the number of generations in relation to changing temperature on mango fruits across eight different geographically isolated major mango growing locations of India. The prediction of insect pest generations and generation time was done for baseline (1961 to 1990), present (1969 to 2005), near future (2021 to 2050) and distant future (2071 to 2098) periods using A1B emission scenario data from the regional circulation model (RCM), Providing Regional Climates for Impacts Studies (PRECIS) model. The degree days models using minimum and maximum temperature were used to obtain cumulative degree days (DD) for each generation of B. dorsalis using a temperature threshold of 13°C. It was estimated that faster accumulation of degree days would make possible for occurrence of one or two additional generations with shortened mean life cycle (5 to 7 days less) in near and distant future climate change periods compared to baseline and present periods at majority of locations. Increased number of generations and reduction of generation time at majority of mango growing locations of India suggest that the incidence of B. dorsalis may likely to increase due to projected increase in temperatures during future climate change scenarios. Wound bed preparation is the management of a wound in order to accelerate endogenous healing or to facilitate the effectiveness of split-skin grafting. The formation of a healthy wound bed is a prerequisite to the use of advanced wound care products. Unless this is achieved, even the most sophisticated and expensive materials are unlikely to function correctly. An attempt has been made to use 3% citric acid ointment for wound bed preparation to prepare wound for grafting in five cases of wounds with large raw areas infected with multiple antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Developmental dental anomalies are marked deviations from the normal colour, contour, size, number, and the degree of the development of teeth. Local as well as systemic factors may be responsible for these developmental disturbances. Such influences may begin before or after birth and hence the deciduous or the permanent teeth may be affected. These anomalies not only affect the aesthetic appearance of the teeth but also pose difficulties during the dental treatment and sometimes are the cause of dental problems. A rare case of dental developmental fusion of the permanent right lateral incisor with two supernumerary teeth, with dens invagination, dilacerations, talon's cusp and a periradicular lesion reported to the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, NHDC. The clinical and the radiographical findings led to the diagnosis of fusion of the permanent lateral incisor with two supplementary teeth. All the 3 involved teeth showed dens invaginatus, dilacerations of the roots and a talons cusp with a chronic periapical lesion. The rarity with which this entity appears, along with its complex characteristics, often makes it difficult to treat. A multidisciplinary approach, with different specialists working together, can contribute to the success of a treatment plan. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Giant cell tumor (GCT) of bone is a benign but locally aggressive tumor with tendency for local recurrence. Here we report a case of giant cell tumor of the right sided distal radius treated by en-bloc resection and reconstruction arthroplasty using autogenous non-vascularized ipsilateral proximal fibular graft. Early radiological union at host-graft junction was achieved at 12 weeks and solid incorporation with callus formation was observed at 20 weeks. Functional range of motion of the wrist was 20 degrees dorsiflexion and 20 degrees palmerflexion. Grip strength was moderate. Soft tissue recurrence and fibulo-carpal subluxation was not observed. Reconstruction arthroplasty of wrist following en-blocresection of GCT of the distal radius with non-vascularized proximal fibular graft was found useful in preserving the movements and functions as well as stability of the wrist.
