Populations of species living at the edge of their range need long-term and constant monitoring to analyze the number and condition of individuals of the species. When populations fall out of natural phytocenoses in conditions of regulated nature management, it is possible to restore these cenopopulations by repopulation. For optimization of work on structuring of data on populations, a GIS-map of medicinal plants was created. A full set of studies has been carried out for Bupleurum aureum populations, which are experiencing significant anthropogenic pressure near the western border of its range. The species has practically disappeared from the broad-leaved forests of the Predvolga region. The created GIS-map contains information with precise georeferencing of the identified cenopopulations in relation to landscape and soil type. Another block of the GIS-map database contains information on productivity and genetic polymorphism of cenopopulations, which should be taken into account when restoring lost populations.The conducted studies have shown that the share of generative plants of B. aureum in the population decreases when the light intensity decreases in the forest. In this case, individuals preserved in meadows adjacent to the forest are of great importance. It can be assumed that forest edge communities are important key sites for the conservation of forest biodiversity.

Pulp infections may affect periodontal tissues and vice versa. Teeth with endo-perio lesions have a worse prognosis than isolated endodontic or periodontal lesions. Elimination of endodontic and periodontal infections is essential for successful treatment, so co-operation between endodontists and periodontists is necessary. In this clinical case, a 44-year-old male presented with primary periodontal disease with secondary endodontic involvement in his lower right canine because of aggressive periodontitis. There was 10 mm of clinical attachment loss and 8 mm periodontal pocket mesial from the tooth and bone radiolucency periapical and lateral from the root. Periodontal therapy was followed by endodontic treatment. Periodontal therapy included root scaling and planing, treatment of the periodontal pocket with ozone gas, systemic antibiotics, oral hygiene instructions, and chlorhexidine rinsing. Endodontic therapy included root canal instrumentation with rotary endodontic files, irrigation, root canal treatment with ozone gas, and obturation with lateral compaction. Radiographs at a 6-month follow-up appointment showed complete healing of the periapical lesion and alveolar bone lateral to the root. Using an interdisciplinary approach to treat endo-perio lesions provides favorable clinical outcomes. Ozone therapy is beneficial for the successful treatment of endo-perio lesions with narrow periodontal pockets in patients with aggressive periodontitis and poor prognosis.Keywords: endo-perio lesion, ozone therapy, ozone gas

The article is devoted to pragmatic analysis of mass media metaphors which nowadays became a frequent means of information transfer in the political, economical and social world. Illustrative material is acquired by continuous sampling from Internet versions of most popular Russian, English and French print media both of informational and advertising nature which allowed the authors to identify the common, conditioned by globalization problems, and national-cultural vision of the processes occurring in the modern socio-cultural and economical space. The authors also referred to the Russian National Newspaper Corpus. Data content analysis served as the basic research method. It is shown that public speeches of politicians, economists, analytics, managers of different levels and contextual advertising posted in network discourse and aimed at a wide audience most clearly represent metaphor’s manipulative function which presupposes imposing views, formation of necessary attitude towards a certain event or phenomenon. The usage of metaphors is associated with a certain world model existing in the consciousness of representatives of a certain political trend, and spheres of human activity are represented through the perspectives determined by conceptual metaphors. Metaphor determines the style and way of perceiving the object and subject of political, economical and social life, forms the axiological potential of the produced information. Pragmatic analysis of mass media metaphors indicates that axiological characteristics of metaphor’s content fluctuate, the value orientation changes depending on what feature forming the basis of meaning transfer is actualized at the moment.

The article is devoted to the issue of information structuring within the concept «Ecology». Each concept contains various information which constitutes the core and the periphery of the concept and is actualized in the person’s picture of the world. The same information can be regarded differently; the reason is a partial discrepancy in pictures of the world and the difference of gained experience. The information within the concept consists not only of proved knowledge but of associations and representation of each individual as well. Thus, the quantity of information within the concept is considerably large. To systematize the knowledge within the concept models of knowledge representation were introduced; a frame is an example of such a model. In the following article a frame is regarded as a schematic representation of knowledge within the concept consisting of the frame’s name and its slots – well-ordered units which organize the structure of the frame. Having studied frames as the unit of knowledge representation attention is drawn to the peculiarities of frame perception which are determined by their recipients’ characteristics. The names of the slots are usually common for frames of one thematic group unlike their content which is unique for slots of different frames. On the basis of the comparative analysis of «Global warming» frame in Australian and Arctic representatives’ pictures of the world the conclusion has been made that this frame unfolds to its recipients differently due to their location, experience and urgency of the problem in each country.

The present stage of development of our country is distinguished by dynamism and qualitative changes in all spheres of public life. As the information component of the modern economy grows in Russia, the role and importance of the information interaction of an enterprise with representatives of the internal and external business environment increases significantly, and this has a direct impact on the effective functioning of the organization at all stages of its production, sales and management activities. Properly organized processes of receiving, storing, processing and analyzing data within the organization allow us to assess the company state of affairs, plan for the nearest future and assess future prospects, make timely decisions about changing of business policies, reorganizing the structure, timely fulfillment of sales and production plans, and effectively use the employees’ working hours with the greatest benefit to the organization. The set of information flows that ensure an organization interaction with its internal and external representatives forms the information space of the enterprise.

The interaction of different dental alloys with the oral environment may cause severe side effects (e.g., burning sensation, inflammatory reactions, carcinogenesis) as a result of oral galvanism. However, the pathogenesis of side effects associated with oral galvanism is still unclear, and the effects of direct current and alloy corrosion ions are considered potentially contributing factors. Therefore, the aim of this study was to systemically compare the damaging effects of (1) galvanism as a synergistic process (direct current + corrosion ions), (2) direct current separately, and (3) corrosion ions separately on an in vitro mucosa-like model based on a cell line of immortalized human keratinocytes (HaCaTs) to reveal the factors playing a pivotal role in dental alloys side effects. For this, we chose and compared the dental alloys with the highest risk of oral galvanism: Ti64-AgPd and NiCr-AgPd. We showed that galvanic current may be the leading damaging factor in the cytotoxic processes associated with galvanic coupling of metallic intraoral appliances in the oral cavity, especially in the short-term period (28 days). However, the contribution of corrosion ions (Ni 2+ ) to the synergistic toxicity was also shown, and quite possibly, in the long term, it could be no less dangerous.

Background: chronic apical periodontitis is a common pathology in dentistry, especially in endodontics. It is necessary to systematize data concerning commonly used irrigation solutions. The development of new protocols for endodontic treatment is a very promising direction. The use of a polyhexanide-based antiseptic can positively affect the results of endodontic treatment., Methods: the review was carried out involving the search for English language research and meta-analyses in the Google Scholar and PubMed databases., Results: the number of literary sources that were identified during the literature review is 180. After excluding publications that did not match the search criteria, the total number of articles included in the systematic review was determined to be 68., Conclusions: polyhexanide is a promising solution for infected root canal irrigation. The antibacterial activity of this substance is suitable for the elimination of pathogens responsible for the appearance of apical periodontitis.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the duration of fixation of adhesive films in the treatment of traumatic lesions of the oral mucosa., Material and Methods: The patients were divided into 2 groups. In the first group, the affected area was covered with an adhesive film with solcoseryl, in the second group with a film with vitamin E. The film was glued to the affected area according to the instructions, the time of gluing was recorded, patients were warned about the need to notify researchers via messengers or SMS messages about the time of peeling or resorption of the film. The evaluation was carried out by the method of variation statistics (Student's t-test for independent samples)., Results: The retention time of the film in the oral cavity was expressed in minutes, the average value in group 1 was 48.4±9.19, in group 2 - 127.70±49.07. Thus, the fixation of the film with vitamin E was longer than the films with solcoseryl ( p =0.000180)., Conclusion: Both films provided sufficient protective effect during the retention period. However, in clinical situations where a longer barrier protective effect to the damaged oral mucosa surface is required, it is advisable to use a vitamin E healing patch.

Purpose: To investigate the position of the mental foramen based on its relation with the roots of the mandibular teeth and quantify the prevalence of anterior loop and satellite foramina in the mandible in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans., Methods: The sample consisted of 400 CBCT scans of males (n=190) and females (n=210) from Moscow, Russia. Using the system proposed by Tebo and Telford (1950), the position of the mental foramen was classified into: I) mesial to the mandibular first premolar; II) at the apex of the mandibular first premolar; III) between the roots of the mandibular first and second premolars; IV) at the apex of the mandibular second premolar; V) between the roots of the mandibular second premolar and first molar; and VI) at the apex of the roots of the mandibular first molar. Additionally, the images were assessed to investigate the prevalence of the anterior loop of the mandibular canal and the presence of satellite foramina., Results: Mental foramen position class III was the most prevalent (61%) followed by class IV (27%), II (8%), I, V and VI (together <4%). Statistically significant differences were not detected between males and females (P<0.05). In Russian males and females, the anterior loop of the mandibular canal was found in 15.78% and 3%, respectively; while satellite foramina were found in 31.58% and 19.62%, respectively., Conclusion: The spatial position of the mental foramen and the morphological alterations of the mandibular canal and adjacent foramina must be known prior to surgical interventions in the mandible., (Copyright © 2019 Elsevier Masson SAS. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the translucency levels of various composite materials that are positioned by their manufacturers as 'dentin,' 'opaque,' 'body,' and 'enamel' in relation to natural tooth tissues., Methods: Sixteen commercial composite materials and 10 natural tooth tissue samples (enamel and dentin) were studied. The differences in color of dried and hydrated samples were measured on a black-and-white background using CIELab coordinates. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to compare the translucency parameter (TP) values of the different materials (P < 0.05), and t test was used to compare the TP values for the dried and hydrated samples, with the significance set at P < 0.001., Results: The TP values of opaque shades for the studied composite materials ranged from 1.5 to 3.9, and those of enamel shades from 3.9 to 10.9. According to the obtained results, a body shade sample had a high level of translucency, comparable with some enamel shades of the materials studied (TP = 4.489 ± 0.505 after polymerization, and 3.916 ± 0.566 after 48 h of water storage). The translucency levels of dry composite samples and samples after hydration were not significantly different, while significant changes were observed for dentin and enamel (P < 0.05)., Significance: Choosing a composite material that is suitable for different clinical situations is a major challenge in everyday dental practice. Information about the relative translucency of various composites on the market and their compliance with natural tissues can help dentists to choose optimal restorative materials.

Calcineurin is a calcium-dependent phosphatase that is involved in many cellular processes including hypertrophy. Inhibition or genetic loss of calcineurin blocks pathological cardiac hypertrophy and diabetic renal hypertrophy. However, calcineurin does not appear to be involved in physiological cardiac hypertrophy induced by exercise. The role of calcineurin in a compensatory, non-pathological model of renal hypertrophy has not been tested. Therefore, in this study, we examined activation of calcineurin and the effect of calcineurin inhibition or knockout on compensatory hypertrophy following uninephrectomy (UNX). UNX induces ~15% increase in the size of the remaining kidney; the data show no change in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), Nox4 or transforming growth factor-β expression confirming the model as one of compensatory hypertrophy. Next, analyses of the remaining kidney reveal that total calcineurin activity is increased, and, to a lesser extent, transcriptional activity of the calcineurin substrate nuclear factor of activated T cell is up-regulated following UNX. However, inhibition of calcineurin with cyclosporine failed to prevent compensatory renal hypertrophy. Likewise, hypertrophy was comparable to WT in mice lacking either isoform of the catalytic subunit of calcineurin (CnAα-/- or CnAβ-/-). In conclusion, similar to its role in the heart, calcineurin is required for pathological but not compensatory renal hypertrophy. This separation of signalling pathways could therefore help further define key factors necessary for pathological hypertrophy including diabetic nephropathy., (© 2014 The Authors. Two hundreds and ninety eight patients were included in the study. Endo-perio lesions were revealed in 53 (17.78%) patients. Anonymous questionnaires were filled by 183 dentists of different specialties. Most of the dentists try to treat such lesions themselves while for successful treatment interdisciplinary approach is required. Results of anonymous questioning show that most of the dentists haven't enough information not only about endo-perio lesions but also about periodontal therapy and underestimate the value of periodontal therapy for this group of patients.

A combination ofperiodontitis and pulp or periapical tissues inflammation in one tooth is known as endo-periodontal lesions. Such kind of lesion is serious problem of modern dentistry. It was found that pathogenic microflora of periodontal pocket and root canal of tooth with eno-perio lesion is almost the equal and consist of anaerobic microorganisms. Pathogenic effects have not only microorganisms but also their life products. Apical foramen, lateral and additional canals are physiological ways for pathogens migration. Inflammatory processes in these structures complicate each other. Lack of information among dentists about treatment possibilities of endo-perio lesions is a main reasons of extraction such kind of teeth. Simultaneous elimination of pathogens both from periodontal pocket and root canal is a key factor for effective treatment. Periodontal status is main factor for prognosis of tooth with endo-perio lesion, because of it treatment of endo-perio lesions should consist of two stages: infection elimination and regeneration of tooth-supported structures.
