In this work, we have employed the first-principles calculations to investigate the phase stability and mechanical and optoelectronic characteristics of Hf
2 AX (A=Al, Si and X=C, N) MAX phases. Phase stabilities of Hf2 AX compounds have been evaluated by the formation enthalpy computations and phonon dispersion curves, which indicate that all studied compounds are structurally and dynamically stable. The mechanical stability has been determined by elastic stiffness constants, which confirms that the studiedMAX phases aremechanically stable. The computed results for Pugh's and Poisson ratios indicate the brittle nature of Hf2 AX MAX phases. It is interesting to note that Si-based MAX phases possess high values of B/G, indicating that they are harder than Al-based compounds. The obtained band structures and partial density of states indicate the metallic character of all Hf2 AX compounds. The strong hybridization of d-orbitals of Hf with p-orbitals of N and the comparatively weaker hybridization of p-orbitals (Hf) with Al/Si p-orbitals is observed. The presence of pseudogaps near the Fermi energy level emerges due to the orbital hybridization involving Hf, Al/Si, and C/N atoms. The analysis of charge density difference maps reveals the presence of a strong covalent bond between the Hf and C/N atoms, whereas a relatively weaker covalent bond is seen between the Hf and Al/Si atoms. Furthermore, numerous optical characteristics have been investigated to account for the behavior of the Hf2 AX compounds to those of impinging electromagnetic rays. The highest absorptivity is noticed within the energy range of 7.5-12.5 eV. The optical spectra in the range of 1.7 eV (IR) to 9 eV ultraviolet (UV) have been observed for the investigated MAX phases, predicting their suitability as proficient energy absorbers within the UV region. The Intriguing properties of Hf2 AX compounds are anticipated to be appropriate materials for a variety of applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

- Abstract
Liquid food packages consist of various polymers films, which are bonded together with Aluminum foil (Al-foil) using adhesion or by direct heat. The main aim of this research was to define important material properties such as fracture toughness and some FE-simulation material model parameters such as damage initiation, damage evolution, and the adhesion between Al-foil and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film. This investigation is based on both physical experiments and FE simulations in ABAQUS with and without initial cracks of different lengths for comparison purposes. The final FE model in ABAQUS was used to compare the numerical input parameters in an extensive study with the ambition to investigate the materials’ parameters in cases with or without adhesion between laminates. Finally, the relation between the theoretical and experimental results for Al-foil using linear elastic fracture mechanics and modified strip yield model were shown, and the fracture toughness was calculated for two different thicknesses of Al-foil. © 2021 by the authors. Inflows of foreign direct investment are one of the main drivers of globalization and play a significant role in narrowing the investmentsavings gap in developing nations. This study's main goal is to examine how the Misery Index has affected FDI inflows to Pakistan between 1980 and 2021. The ongoing study also looks at how the money supply and exchange rate affect FDI inflows. Error Correction Model is utilized to analyze observed short-run relationships, while the long-run relationship is examined using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag approach to cointegration. In the short run, the Exchange Rate and Misery Index are the key FDI factors. The money supply and exchange rate are also important long-term factors of FDI. The study suggest that administration of Pakistan should entirely interest-free exchange rate rule sterile of fixed exchange rates thus as to expand foreign direct investment and provide to GDP, this is because profitable capability of any FDI is constructed on exchange rate constancy. As a result of the economic crisis in Pakistan, debt has had a negative impact on life and is perhaps one of the biggest causes of rising deprivation over the decades. This study examines the impact of debt services on income distribution in Pakistan, analyzed with time-series data from 1984 to 2018. This has shown that currency devaluation is a threat to income distribution in developing countries. The previous analysis shows that international remittances to developing countries have a positive effect. The Autoregressive Distributed Lags (ARDL) was the method used to examine the impact of debt on income distribution. The findings illustrate the significant and positive relationship between debt service and Gini Coefficient Index, which shows that an increase in debt will result in an increase in income distribution. A copper-catalyzed tandem reaction has been developed for the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole-fused indole derivatives. This protocol allowed us to access a wide range of 1,2,3-triazole-fused indole derivatives in moderate to excellent yields. The 1,2,3-triazole-fused indole derivatives emit blue and greenish light when excited at 365 nm. The products were further explored for their quantum efficiency and photophysical properties. - Abstract
A novel metal-free, efficient cascade reaction has been developed to construct 1,2,3-triazole-fused 1,4-diazepinone skeletons. Mechanism investigation indicated that sodium azide has not only served as a 1,3-dipoles synthon in [3 + 2] cycloaddition but also prompted C–N bond formation. Furthermore, the potential utility of this protocol was demonstrated by scale-up synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole-fused diazepinone derivatives and the derivatization of them.

- Abstract
The purpose for this thesis is to investigate the mechanical properties of the aluminum foil used for packaging industry, the reaction of the material exposed to loading and the crack sensitivity coupled to the maximum strain in the material after loading. This investigation will be based on both physical experiments and numerical simulations in the Finite Element Method program ABAQUS for with and without initial crack of different length. The simulations purpose is to get a better understanding of the different material parameters and the physical tests serves to verify the numerical model and to prove its credibility. The final model in ABAQUS will be used to test the parameters in an extensive parameter study with the ambition to find an ultimate combination of the parameters both for the material and its adhesion with LDPE., Pakistan, +923326677888

- Abstract
Objective: Carotid body tumors (CBTs) are rare, slow-growing neoplasms derived from the parasympathetic paraganglia of the carotid bodies. Although inherently vascular lesions, the role of preoperative embolization prior to resection remains controversial. In this report, the authors describe an institutional series of patients with CBT successfully treated via resection following preoperative embolization and compare the results in this series to previously reported outcomes in the treatment of CBT., Methods: All CBTs resected between 2013 and 2019 at a single institution were retrospectively identified. All patients had undergone preoperative embolization performed by interventional neuroradiologists, and all had been operated on by a combined team of cerebrovascular neurosurgeons and otolaryngology-head and neck surgeons. The clinical, radiographic, endovascular, and perioperative data were collected. All procedural complications were recorded., Results: Among 22 patients with CBT, 63.6% were female and the median age was 55.5 years at the time of surgery. The most common presenting symptoms included a palpable neck mass (59.1%) and voice changes (22.7%). The average tumor volume was 15.01 ± 14.41 cm3. Most of the CBTs were Shamblin group 2 (95.5%). Blood was predominantly supplied from branches of the ascending pharyngeal artery, with an average of 2 vascular pedicles (range 1-4). Fifty percent of the tumors were embolized with more than one material: polyvinyl alcohol, 95.5%; Onyx, 50.0%; and N-butyl cyanoacrylate glue, 9.1%. The average reduction in tumor blush following embolization was 83% (range 40%-95%). No embolization procedural complications occurred. All resections were performed within 30 hours of embolization. The average operative time was 173.9 minutes, average estimated blood loss was 151.8 ml, and median length of hospital stay was 4 days. The rate of permanent postoperative complications was 0%; 2 patients experienced transient hoarseness, and 1 patient had medical complications related to alcohol withdrawal., Conclusions: This series reveals that endovascular embolization of CBT is a safe and effective technique for tumor devascularization, making preoperative angiography and embolization an important consideration in the management of CBT. Moreover, the successful management of CBT at the authors' institution rests on a multidisciplinary approach whereby endovascular surgeons, neurosurgeons, and ear, nose, and throat-head and neck surgeons work together to optimally manage each patient with CBT.

- Abstract
Emerging evidence indicates that many microRNAs (miRNAs) are indispensable regulators of osteoblast differentiation and bone formation. However, the role of miRNAs in mechanotransduction of osteoblasts remains to be elucidated. This study aimed to identify a mechanosensitive miRNA that regulates Activin A receptor type I (ACVR1)-induced osteogenic differentiation. After 4 weeks of hindlimb unloading (HLU) suspension of 6-month-old male C57BL/6J mice, femurs and tibias were harvested to extract total bone RNAs. Elevated levels of miR-208a-3p correlated with a lower degree of bone formation in whole-bone samples of HLU mice. However, in vitro overexpression of miR-208a-3p inhibited osteoblast differentiation, whereas silencing of miR-208a-3p by antagomiR-208a-3p promoted expression of osteoblast activity, bone formation marker genes, and matrix mineralization under mechanical unloading condition. Bioinformatics analysis and a luciferase assay revealed that ACVR1 is a target gene of miR-208a-3p that negatively regulates osteoblast differentiation under mechanical unloading environment. Further, this study also demonstrates that in vivo pre-treatment with antagomiR-208a-3p led to an increase in bone formation and trabecular microarchitecture and partly rescued the bone loss caused by mechanical unloading. Collectively, these results suggest that in vivo, inhibition of miRNA-208a-3p by antagomiR-208a-3p may be a potential therapeutic strategy for ameliorating bone loss., (Copyright © 2017. - Abstract
Chronic urticaria is fairly a common disorder in children and management is sometime challenging. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) should be considered as one of the causes for chronic urticaria when the response to conventional treatment is not appropriate. A nine years old girl with suspicion of wheat allergy (celiac disease) and chronic urticaria was referred for endoscopy. Antral nodularity with H. pylori gastritis was observed and confirmed on biopsy specimen with normal small bowel mucosa. Treatment for H. pylori cured her chronic urticaria. H. pylori should be considered as one of the differential if conventional medication does not help curing chronic urticaria.
