The mixture of the rare-earth CeO2 and ZrO2 particulates was used for fabricating the hybridized AZ31BMg/(CeO2+ZrO2)p composites by utilizing friction stir processing with a multiple-tool pass strategy. The structure, mechanical properties (tensile strength and hardness), tribological performances (wear properties) and corrosion behaviours of the hybrid composites were examined. The findings reveal the elimination of tunnel-like defects and clustering of the CeO2+ZrO2 particles in the composite after the multiple passes of the tool due to the successive mechanical stirring-assisted material flow. The rise in the tool passes reduced the mean grain sizes (7.91–3.02 μm), the particle sizes (5.47–2.28 μm), the average friction coefficient (0.45–0.18) and the specific wear rate (4.26 × 10−5–2.17 × 10−5 mm3/Nm) of the composite. The tensile strength (172–239 MPa), and the corrosion performance of the hybrid composite were also improved via the multiple tool pass strategy. Multiple tool pass is thus recommended for the fabrication of Mg-based hybrid composites.

In this paper, three different scenarios were experimentally investigated to compare carbon dioxide based enhanced oil recovery methods. These methods are continuous carbon dioxide (immiscible injection), water alternating gas, and cyclic carbon dioxide injection were investigated. In scenario A, the maximum oil recovery factor for water flooding is about 19% when there is no oil production. The maximum oil recovery at miscibility stage is about 46%. The reason for this low value of oil recovery factor might correspond to the sufficient interaction time between oil and dissolved gas. In scenario B, the total oil recovery factor is about 60% when the water alternating gas injection was performed in the system. In scenario C, after cyclic carbon dioxide injection, final oil recovery factor reached to 62%. The maximum oil recovery after miscibility stage is about 78%. In scenario B and C, regarding the more oil volume production, there are more void spaces that can be a good place for carbon dioxide storage. However, for scenario B, as the injection pattern has been changed alternatively, the void spaced had been occupied by water and this is why the carbon storage capacity was being decreased for this scenario rather than other two scenarios.

This paper is presented to study the supersonic flutter characteristics of laminated joined conical-conical shells made of epoxy as the matrix and fibers and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) as the reinforcements. The mathematical modeling of the shell and the aerodynamic pressure are performed sequentially using the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and the supersonic piston theory incorporating the aerodynamic damping coefficient. The effective elasticity and shear modulus, Poisson’s ratios, and density are estimated using the rule of mixture, Halpin-Tsai model, and micromechanical relations. The governing equations and associated boundary and compatibility conditions are derived utilizing Hamilton’s principle and are solved in the circumferential direction and numerically in the meridional direction via the differential quadrature method (DQM). The natural frequencies and mode shapes are obtained, and the influences of various parameters on the flutter boundaries are examined including the geometrical characteristics of the shell segments, boundary conditions, circumferential wave number, and weight fractions of the GNPs and fibers. It is concluded that by increasing the weight fractions of the fibers and the GNPs, the natural frequencies grow and the aeroelastic stability improves.

Diffusion brazing of SiC ceramic to IN738 using an Ag-Cu-Ti powder-mixture as an interlayer was carried out for the first time. The impact of the bonding time (30 and 45 min) on metallurgical features and shear strength of the joints was assessed. The results revealed that raising the bonding time resulted in expanding of the brazing layer from 46.98 µm to 55.31 µm. Besides, increasing the bonding time also enhanced the shear strength of the SiC/Ag-Cu-Ti/IN738 joints.

In this work, we established some exact solutions for the (3 + 1)-dimensional potential-Yu-Toda-Sasa-Fukuyama (YTSF)-like equation with p=3 and p=5 which are considered based on the generalized Hirota bilinear method. Depending on the analysis of Hirota operator, a generalized bilinear differential equation of the YTSF-like equation type is formulated. Furthermore, through a specific computations with Maple software, M-soliton solutions, lump solution and three classes of interaction solutions of the YTSF-like equation expressed explicitly. Moreover, we employ the linear superposition principle (LSP) to determine N-soliton wave solutions of the (3 + 1)-dimensional YTSF-like equation. The studied equation describes the physical characterization of model for investigating the dynamics of solitons and nonlinear waves in fluid dynamics, plasma physics and weakly dispersive media. Moreover, a few key differences are presented, which exits in the literature and the current offer. The evaluated solutions are explained through various sketches in two, three-dimensional, density, and curve plots of their real, imaginary, and absolute value. The computational applied schemes’ performance is tested to illustrate their powerful, and effectiveness for handling many nonlinear evolutions equations.
