The quality of the public transport system is an important factor in determining passenger travel satisfaction and it leads to a better quality of life. Quality of life depends on the quality of services provided in the city. Satisfaction is strongly related to the perception of the users. Many people use public transport on their everyday trips and this paper investigates how road users perceive the public transportation system and the place of the stress factor in this perception. Furthermore, willingness to pay analysis was also carried out, and the amount of additional charge for a less stressful trip was included as a new variable in the model. The binomial logit model is used as a method in this study. As a result, the trip time and the home-based work trips increase the stress level in travel rises. Stress level affects the perception of public transport users, and therefore, users tend to stay away from the stress.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the impacts of the variables on site selection decision of the spectators just before the main activity in order to engage in eating, having fun and performing other types of activities. A multinomial logit modelling framework is hired to model activity patterns within PSE circumstances. Activities were classified into three groups that are “Eating”, “Entertainment”, and “Other”. Model estimation on PSE survey data set from selected stadiums in Istanbul shows that due to the congestion, as travel time and activity duration increase the spectators inclined to be around the stadium 184 minutes in average before the starting time of the main activity. The results obtained from this study can be used as a micro input for the macro studies such as transportation master plans and urban plans and can offer complementary research areas for PSE traffic management and urban planning.

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented major difficulties to public health organizations and governments all over the world. Administrations have taken various measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus, which emerged instantly, about which they did not know much, and which was defined as a pandemic by WHO on March 11, 2020 (WHO, 2022). Within the scope of this study, it is aimed to establish a hybrid model of the impacts of the pandemic on passenger behavior and transportation mode preferences and to evaluate passenger behavior accordingly. Hybrid model consists of cluster analysis and discrete choice models in order. First of all, a comprehensive survey was conducted via online platform to determine the travel behaviors of individuals in three phases of the pandemic which are before (pre-COVID19), during (during COVID19), and after the pandemic (post-COVID19). As a result of the models, it can be said that the factors affecting the mode preference of individuals do not differ between COVID sensitive or COVID unrelated clusters. However, when the effect on mode selection is examined, it seems that these factors have a greater effect on mode preference choices for the COVID sensitive cluster. With the effect of the pandemic, people's perceptions about public transportation modes have been negatively affected.

Planned special event (PSE) increases the travel demand and derives interim activities that individuals spend their time and money. In this study, it is aimed to determine the factors affecting the money expenditures of PSE participants in interim activities that they participated before the special event by using the Binary Logit Model. A face-to-face survey study started in December 2018 and ended in May 2019, and football is selected as the PSE. As a result, 357 valid questionnaires were obtained before 6 league games and included in the modeling study. This study showed that PSE participation is not the same with daily routine activity participation for example age, income level, frequency of participation in games are not statistically significant. However, when fans come to the games with someone, they gather at locations within walking distance of PSE venues and attend an event where they spend money. Planlı özel etkinlikler (PÖE), seyahat talebini geçici olarak artırmakla birlikte katılımcıların hem zaman hem de para harcadıkları yeni aktiviteler de üretmektedir. Bu çalışmada, PÖE katılımcılarının özel etkinlik öncesi katıldıkları ara (türetilmiş) etkinliklerdeki para harcamalarını etkileyen faktörlerin İkili Logit Model kullanılarak belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Aralık 2018'de başlayan ve Mayıs 2019'da sona eren yüz yüze olarak gerçekleştirilen anket çalışması sonucunda 6 lig maçı öncesi 357 geçerli anket elde edilmiş ve modelleme çalışmasına dahil edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, PÖE katılımının günlük rutin aktivite katılımı ile farklı olduğunu, örneğin yaş, gelir düzeyi, oyunlara katılım sıklığı gibi önemli değişkenlerin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmadığını göstermiştir. Model sonucuna göre bireyler ticaret-yoğun yerleri tercih etmekte, özellikle bu gibi etkinliklere yalnız gelmediği takdirde daha fazla para harcama eğilimi göstermektedir. Katılımcıların toplandıkları alanlar stadyumun en yakın noktaları değil ancka yürüme mesafesindeki diğer alanlar olarak belirlenmiştir.
