Background Young people with internet addiction (IA) have been shown to be at risk for having a lower Health-Related Quality Of Life (HRQOL). This study aimed to identify the risk of internet addiction on health-related quality of life among medical students at Zagazig University during academic year 2022-2023. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional comparative study was performed on 280 undergraduate medical students of Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University. Diagnosis of internet addiction was by using a selfadministered Arabic semi-structured questionnaire of internet addiction test (IAT). Also, the questionnaire involved socio-demographic data, as well as the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire-short version (WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaire. Results: About 64% of the studied students were internet addicts and 71% of them were moderate internet addicts. A significant association was revealed between internet addiction and academic performance as 100% of non-internet addict passed the exam and about 3% of internet addicts failed to pass. Also, it was found that internet addict group had significantly lower mean scores on subjective feelings about overall quality of life, all domains of QOL (physical, psychological, social, environmental) and total QOL score compared to non-internet addict group (p<0.001). Also, a highly statistically significant negative correlation was found between internet addiction score with total quality of life score (r=-0.64, P <0.001). Conclusion: More than half of the studied students were internet addict and most of internet addict group suffered from moderate internet addiction. IA was associated with poorer quality of life regarding subjective feelings about overall quality of life and health, all QOL domains' mean scores and global QOL mean score. Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) patients are prone to influenza infection. Seasonal vaccination is the most effective method to prevent influenza. Assessing the influenza coverage and the knowledge and attitude of patients toward it will help in raising the coverage and decreasing the complications. Objectives: To detect the level of influenza vaccination coverage among people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and assess the knowledge about influenza infection and attitude toward influenza vaccine among those patients. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in the diabetes outpatient clinics at Zagazig University hospitals. The study included 327 diabetic patients. It took six months, from February to July 2023. A structured questionnaire was used to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding seasonal influenza vaccination and factors that may affect them. Results: The mean age of participants was 55.2 years; most of them were female (63.3%). The vaccination coverage was only 23.9%. Sufficient knowledge was reported (64.8%), and a positive attitude toward vaccination among those who had heard about it was reported (69.6%). The main cause of non-vaccination was that they didn't hear about the vaccine (67.8%), while the main cause of vaccination was a doctor's advice (62.8%). After logistic regression, sufficient knowledge and longer disease duration were found to be statistically significant predictors for vaccination (odds ratio 2.117, 1.081 respectively). Conclusions: The influenza vaccination rate among T2DM patients is below the optimal level. Overall, knowledge and attitude toward the influenza vaccine among diabetic patients should be raised. Antibiotic residues in milk are of great public health concern since milk is being widely consumed by infants, youngster and adults throughout the globe. Therefore, eighty samples of different species including (cow, buffalo, camel and sheep) 20 of each type were collected from different markets and dairy shops located in Alexandria governorate, Egypt for determination antibiotic residues using HPLC. The obtained results were revealed that oxytetracycline, penicillin G and cloxacillin residues were detected at incidence rate (30, 30, 15, & 30%), (25, 20, 10, & 25%), and (10, 10, 0, &15%) with a mean values of (97.9±28.1, 85.5± 25.9, 48.4±28.0 & 122.9±29.2 ppb); (8.86 ± 3.60, 7.583± 4.73, 1.95± 0.95 &10.2 ± 3.40 ppb), and (39.3 ± 7.40, 21.5 ± 9.05, 0 & 37.6 ± 9.91 ppb) in examined cow, buffalo , camel and sheep's milk samples, respectively. Positive samples for antibiotic residues were compared with the maximum residual limits established by international standards. In addition, calculated daily intake for each antibiotic residues were compared with acceptable daily intake. One sample of camel and sheep milk may contain three antibiotic residues and these may cause public health hazards for consumers. Therefore, Legislations for monitoring and control antibiotics treatment of food producing animals should be adopted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
