There are many problems related to the use of machine learning and machine vision technology on a commercial scale for cutting sugarcane seeds. These obstacles are related to complex systems and the way the farmers operate them, the possibility of damage to the buds during the cleaning process, and the high cost of such technology. In order to address these issues, a set of RGB color sensors was used to develop an automated sugarcane seed cutting machine (ASSCM) capable of identifying the buds that had been manually marked with a unique color and then cutting them mechanically, and the sugarcane seed exit chute was provided with a sugarcane seed monitoring unit. The machine's performance was evaluated by measuring the damage index at sugarcane stalk diameters of 2.03, 2.72, 3.42, and 3.94 cm. where two different types of rotary saw knives had the same diameter of 7.0 in/180 mm the two knives had 30 and 80 teeth, also we used five cutting times of 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 ms. All tests were done at a fixed cutting speed of 12000 rpm. In addition, the machine's performance was evaluated by conducting an economic analysis. The obtained results showed that the most damage index values were less than 0.00 for all cutting times and sugarcane stalk diameters under testing, while the DI values were equal zero (partial damage) for sugarcane stalk diameter of 3.42 cm at cutting times of 2000 ms and 2500 ms, in addition to the DI values being equal zero (extreme damage) for sugarcane stalk diameter of 3.94 cm at cutting times of 1500 ms and 2000 ms. The economic analysis showed that the total cost of sugarcane seeds per hectare is 70.865 USD. In addition, the ASSCM can pay for itself in a short period of time. The payback time is 0.536 years, which means that the ASSCM will save enough money to pay for itself in about 6.43 months. Finally, we suggest using a rotary saw knife with 80 teeth and a cutting time of 2000 ms to cut sugarcane stacks with an average diameter of 2.72 cm. There has been a lack of a satisfactory solution for identifying and locating evolving faults in unbalanced distribution systems. The proposed approach is based on the cross-correlation technique as a key element for fault detection and location. Evolving faults, in this context, refer to two sequential faults that result in a change of fault phase. The captured QRS value reflects the occurrence of the second fault occurrence. In order to identify Evolving Faults, it makes use of the signal that is currently being monitored at any given point in the network. Typical system occurrences, such as a short circuit fault that grew into another short circuit fault, as well as cross-country faults, are simulated, and according to the suggested technique, they are accurately differentiated from one another. Using a real-time simulator, rigorous simulations are performed on the modified IEEE 240 bus distribution system. The results of these simulations reveal that they have the potential to uncover defects that are constantly changing. Regardless of the fault (location\resistance\inception angle), location of the monitored point, or sample frequency that is selected, the suggested approach is unaffected by any of these factors. The purpose of this study is to investigate how a tracking indirect solar dryer (SD) powered by photovoltaic cells affected the drying kinetics (DK) and thermo-environmental conditions of tomato slices. In this current investigation, three air speeds (1, 1.5, and 2 m/s) are used, as well as three slice thicknesses (ST) (4, 6, and 8 mm) and two SD, one of which is integrated with fixed collector motion (FCM) and another with SD tracking collector motion (TCM). The obtained results showed that the drying time (DT) isn't significantly change with increasing air speeds from 1 to 2 m/s, this may be due to many reasons such as short DT, high temperature inside drying room, and little difference between the exanimated air speeds. When the ST is changed from 4 to 8 mm and maintaining constant air speeds, the DT for FCM and TCM rose by roughly 1.667 and 1.6 times, respectively. In addition, the drying coefficient of the TCM is higher than the FCM due to higher temperature. At 1.5 m/s air speed and 8 mm ST, the maximum values of moisture diffusivity (MD) are 7.15×10−10 and 9.30×10−10 m2/s for both FCM and TCM systems, respectively. During the study of DK, nine drying models and chose the best based on higher R2 and lower χ2 and RMSE are used. The findings of the DK analysis revealed that the modified two term II model fit the experimental data of various air speeds well when TF was dried using TCM and FCM systems at varying ST. These findings are based on recorded observations. Where the models' R2 values varied from 0.98005 to 0.99942 for FCM system and varied from 0.99386 to 0.99976 for TCM system. Diesel engines (DEs) commonly power pumps used in agricultural and grassland irrigation. However, relying on unpredictable and costly fuel sources for DEs pose's challenges related to availability, reliability, maintenance, and lifespan. Addressing these environmental concerns, this study introduces an emulation approach for photovoltaic (PV) water pumping (WP) systems. Emulation offers a promising alternative due to financial constraints, spatial limitations, and climate dependency in full-scale systems. The proposed setup includes three key elements: a PV system emulator employing back converter control to replicate PV panel characteristics, a boost converter with an MPPT algorithm for efficient power tracking across diverse conditions, and a motor pump (MP) emulator integrating an induction motor connected to a DC generator to simulate water pump behaviors. Precise induction motor control is achieved through a controlled inverter. This work innovatively combines PV and WP emulation while optimizing system dynamics, aiming to develop a comprehensive emulator and evaluate an enhanced control algorithm. An optimized scalar control strategy regulates the water MP, demonstrated through MATLAB/Simulink simulations that highlight superior performance and responsiveness to solar irradiation variations compared to conventional MPPT techniques. In a deregulated power system, managing congestion is crucial for effective operation and control. The goal of congestion management is to alleviate transmission line congestion while adhering to system constraints at minimal cost. This research proposes a hybrid Harris Hawk Optimization–Sine Cosine Algorithm (hHHO-SCA) for an efficient generation rescheduling approach to achieve the lowest possible congestion cost. The hybridization has been performed by introducing the features of SCA in the HHO to boost the exploration and exploitation steps of HHO, providing an efficient global solution and effectively optimizing rescheduled power output. The effectiveness of this methodology is evaluated using IEEE 30 and IEEE 118-bus test systems, taking into account system parameters. The potency of the proposed method is analyzed by comparing the results of the hHHO-SCA with those from other recent optimization techniques. Hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) integrating solar, wind, and storage technologies offer enhanced efficiency and reliability for grid-connected applications. However, existing control methods often struggle with maintaining DC voltage stability and minimizing power fluctuations, particularly under variable load conditions. This paper addresses this research gap by proposing a novel control strategy utilizing a PD (1+PI) regulator that combines proportional–integral (PI) and proportional–derivative (PD) controllers. Integrated into the HRES with maximum power point tracking (MPPT), the system includes solar panels, a storage unit, and a wind system featuring a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The PD (1+PI) regulator plays a critical role in stabilizing DC voltages within the storage system and collaborates with predictive direct power control (P-DPC) to improve current quality by mitigating fluctuations in active and reactive power. Comparative analysis against traditional direct power control methods shows that the proposed strategy reduces voltage fluctuation by 30% and improves energy utilization efficiency by 25%, validating its efficacy in managing energy from diverse sources to meet nonlinear load demands. The results demonstrate that integrating the PD (1+PI) regulator with MPPT and P-DPC approaches enhances power stability and optimizes energy utilization in grid-connected HRES, underscoring the effectiveness of this advanced control system. Research and investigation into renewable energy sources is being sparked by the rapidly rising need for electricity, higher costs of fossil fuels, and increasing worries about the environment. Recent years have seen a tremendous increase in the use of wind energy (WE). In-depth study has been done to effectively produce power from WE. Nevertheless, it is exceedingly challenging and dangerous to set up wind turbines (WTs) for research and teaching uses due to constraints like space and upkeep. Numerous benefits come with a lab-scale WT emulator (WTE), such as freedom from space restrictions, an improved level of control, and independence from existing weather conditions. The design and execution of a low-power, lab-scale WTE are the focus of this study. The investigated experimental configuration is intended to precisely mimic the mechanical behavior of a real WT. Aerodynamics, blades, slow shafts, gearboxes, and controller elements, for example, are modeled in MATLAB/Simulink before they are assembled and implemented on a dSPACE 1104 board. A DC motor running under buck converter control is used to substitute the quick shaft. The WTE's functionality is evaluated in various wind speed conditions. The findings of comparing the WTE's dynamics with those offered by the manufacturer amply show the efficacy of the proposed WTE and its capacity to take the position of an actual WT. This research presents a method that integrates artificial neural networks (ANN) and discrete wavelet transform (DWT) to identify and classify faults in large power networks, as well as to pinpoint the zones where these faults occur. The objective is to enhance reliability and safety by accurately detecting and categorizing electrical faults. To manage the computational demands of processing the extensive and complex data from the power system, the network is divided into optimal zones, each made visible for fault detection. Niche Binary particle swarm optimization (NBPSO) is employed to place the fault detectors (FD) in each zone. This allows for precise measurement of fault voltage and current phasors without significant cost. The ANN module is tasked with identifying the fault area and locating the exact fault within that zone, as well as classifying the specific type of fault. Discrete Wavelet Transform is used for feature extraction, and a phase locked loop (PLL) is used for load angle computation. In recent years, significant improvements have been made in the load frequency control (LFC) of interconnected microgrid (MG) systems, driven by the growing demand for enhanced power supply quality. However, challenges such as low inertia, parameter uncertainties, and dynamic complexity persist, posing significant hurdles for controller design in MGs. Addressing these challenges is crucial as any mismatch between demand load and power generation inevitably leads to frequency deviation and tie-line power interchange within the MG. This work introduces sophisticated optimization techniques (grey wolf optimization (GWO), whale optimization algorithm (WOA), and balloon effect (BE)) for LFC, focusing on the optimal online tuning of integral controller gain (Ki) for controlled loads. The WOA regulates the frequency of the system so variable loads can be accommodated and 6 MW of PV is added to the MG. A PV and a diesel generator-powered isolated single area MGs with electrical random loads are managed by the adaptive controller by regulating the frequency and power of the PV. Online tuning of integral controllers is possible using the WOA. A comparison is carried out between the WOA+BE and three other optimizers, namely the GWO, GWO+BE method, and the WOA. This paper shows the effect of add BE identifier to standard WOA and GWO. MATLAB simulation results prove that the BE identifier offers a significant advantage to the investigated optimizers in the issue of adaptive frequency stability even when disturbances and uncertainties are concurrent. Date fruit drying is a process that consumes a significant amount of energy due to the long duration required for drying. To better understand how moisture flows through the fruit during drying and to speed up this process, drying studies must be conducted in conjunction with mathematical modeling, energy analysis, and environmental economic analysis. In this study, twelve thin-layer mathematical models were designed utilizing experimental data for three different date fruit varieties (Sakkoti, Malkabii, and Gondaila) and two solar drying systems (automated solar dryer and open-air dryer). These models were then validated using statistical analysis. The drying period for the date fruit varieties varied between 9 and 10 days for the automated solar dryer and 14 to 15 days for open-air drying. The moisture diffusivity coefficient values, determined using Fick's second law of diffusion model, ranged from 7.14 × 10−12 m2/s to 2.17 × 10−11 m2/s. Among the twelve thin-layer mathematical models, we chose the best thin drying model based on a higher R2 and lower χ2 and RMSE. The Two-term and Modified Page III models delivered the best moisture ratio projections for date fruit dried in an open-air dryer. For date fruit dried in an automated solar dryer, the Two-term Exponential, Newton (Lewis), Approximation diffusion or Diffusion Method, and Two-term Exponential modeling provided the best moisture ratio projections. The energy and environmental study found that the particular amount of energy used varied from 17.936 to 22.746 kWh/kg, the energy payback time was 7.54 to 7.71 years, and the net CO2 mitigation throughout the lifespan ranged from 8.55 to 8.80 tons. The negative impacts of microgrids (µGs) on the load frequency highlight the importance of implementing a robust, efficient, and adaptable controller to ensure stability. This work introduces an adaptive load frequency control (LFC) for an isolated µG that includes a PV system and electric vehicles (EVs), which have a significant impact on frequency. This control utilizes a combination of sine cosine optimization (SCO) and balloon effect identifier (BEI) algorithms. The controller presented in this work transforms the LFC process into an optimization problem that is highly compatible with various random situations encountered in the control process. The suggested control method is a novel approach by utilizing SCO+BEI for adaptive LFC application, resulting in a highly efficient response. The effectiveness of the proposed adaptive controller is assessed under the conditions of 17 MW variable load, system parameters uncertainties, and installed PV systems of 6 MW. MATLAB / Simulink package is rummage-sale as a digital test environment. According to simulation results, the proposed adaptive controller succeeds in regulating the frequency and power of an islanded µG. To measure the efficiency of the proposed control scheme, a comparison between other control techniques (such as adaptive controller using Jaya+BEI and classical integral controller) is done. The findings of the studied scenarios assured that the not compulsory control method using (SCO+BEI) has an obvious superiority over other control methods in terms of frequency solidity in case of random load instabilities and parameter uncertainties. The significance of using the variable step Incremental Conductance (INC) technique in Maximum Power Point monitoring (MPPT) of photovoltaic (PV) systems resides in its capacity to improve the efficiency of energy conversion. This is accomplished through the constant measurement and comparison of incremental changes in current and voltage, precisely monitoring the maximum power point amidst changing environmental conditions. This traditional INC-MPPT approach has two primary disadvantages. Initially, it employs a predetermined scaling factor that necessitates human adjustment. Furthermore, it adjusts the inclination of the PV characteristics curve to modify the step size. This implies that even little changes in PV module voltage will have a substantial impact on the total step size. As a result, it shifts the operating point away from the intended reference maximum power point. The objective of this work is to improve the efficiency of traditional INC by overcoming the constraints associated with step size modifications. This is achieved by using a fuzzy logic (FL) technique to adjust the step size adaptively in response to environmental changes. The presented INC-FL-MPPT successfully achieves MPPT for a PV system under enhanced steady-state and transientstate settings. The results demonstrate the superiority of the suggested approach compared to three distinct MPPT strategies, namely Perturb and Observe (P&O), Classical INC, and P&O-FL technique. The current electric vehicles (EVs) market is experiencing significant expansion, underscoring the need to address challenges associated with the limited driving range of EVs. A primary focus in this context is the improvement of the wireless charging process. To contribute to this research area, this study introduces a circular spiral coil design that incorporates transceiver coils. First, an in-depth analysis is conducted using Ansys Maxwell software to assess the effectiveness of the proposed solution through the magnetic field distribution, inductance properties, and mutual inductance between receiver and transmitter coils. In the next step, a direct shielding technique is applied, integrating a ferrite core bar to reduce power leakage and enhance power transmission efficiency. The ferrite magnetic shielding guides magnetic field lines, resulting in a significant reduction in flux leakage and improved power transmission. Lastly, a magnetic resonance series (SS) compensation wireless system is developed to achieve high coupling efficiency and superior performance. The system's effectiveness is evaluated through co-simulation using Ansys Simplorer software. The results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed solution, showing its ability to transmit 3.6 kilowatts with a success rate approaching 99%. Due to their simplicity, cheapness, and ease of maintenance, induction motors (IMs) are the most widely used motors in the industry. However, if they are not properly controlled, the load torque and motor speed will fluctuate in an unsatisfactory fashion. To effectively control the load torque and speed of these IMs, it is necessary to use specialized drives. The entire system (IMs + Drives) will experience uncertainty, nonlinearities, and disruptions, which calls for an outstanding performance control structure. The sensorless sliding mode predictive torque control (SSM-PTC) for both AC-DC converter and DC-AC inverter, which are utilized for feeding the IM, is investigated in this work. The AC-DC converter is controlled using the SSM-PTC method in order to follow the DC-link reference voltage throughout any changes in the operating point of the IM. While the DC-AC inverter is controlled using a sensorless predictive power control (SPPC). Within a unity power factor, this SPPC regulates the reactive power flow between the motor and the supply to account for the undesirable harmonic components of the grid current. In addition, an experimental performance improvement of SSM-PTC of IM supplied by a 5-leg AC-DC-AC power converter using extended Kalman filter (EKF) without weighting factor (WF) is also studied in this work. Design and implantation of the suggested control systems are performed using a dSPACE 1104 card. The experimental results of the proposed converter control demonstrate that the suggested approach effectively regulated the DC link, reducing load torque and speed fluctuations.
