Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS) is a rare congenital disorder marked by facial port-wine birthmarks, neurological impairments, and ocular anomalies. Our case report describes a 20-year-old man with SWS who presented with right-sided weakness, slurred speech, and oral dyskinesia. Laboratory studies demonstrated elevated prolactin levels, and imaging confirmed a pituitary macroadenoma. While not well-documented, the association between SWS and pituitary macroadenomas is emerging based on current evidence. The potential link may involve embryological, genetic, or hormonal factors influencing the simultaneous development of these conditions. This case highlights the need for a thorough evaluation in patients with SWS, incorporating both neuroimaging and endocrine assessments to manage associated complications effectively. Further research is necessary to investigate the link between SWS and pituitary tumors. Establishing evidence-based guidelines for the screening and management of these patients will improve outcomes and provide a standardized approach to care.

Hard corals are precious marine creatures that comprise a complex form of symbiosis between symbiont algae and coral holobiont. For decades, corals have been challenged by disastrous events of climatic and anthropogenic etiologies. Such complex interactions have resulted in devastating disease episodes among coral populations worldwide. There is a scarcity of information about diseases of hard corals in the Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea, Egypt. Therefore, the current study aims to investigate various diseases of hard corals in this pristine habitat within the Red Sea. Whitening and dark green dots were the most noticeable morphopathology among hard coral samples collected from Gulf of Aqaba. Some human-based pathogens, such as Rothia kristinae, Cupriavidus pauculus, and Delftia acidovorans, were isolated from some of the examined coral tissues, while the Burkholderia cepacia group was isolated from the nearby sediment. The final identities of the above-mentioned bacterial isolates have been molecularly confirmed using 16S RNA sequence analysis. Pathologically, diseased corals have been observed with changes such as some forms of tissue losses, degenerative changes, and eosinophilic granular amoebocytes/agranular cells infiltration. The frequent detection of some microbial pathogens of human origin could suggest deleterious forms of environmental pollution of anthropogenic origin. Ultimately, the entire existence of hard coral populations is mostly threatened by swiftly erupting climatic changes as well as environmental aquatic pollution. Thus, the current study concludes the real need for extensive ecological, biological, pathological, and immunological studies to determine the eminent threats and propose possible control means for better/sustainable hard coral populations.

Atopobium minutum (A. minutum) has rarely been documented in human infections. However, this report describes a case involving a 52-year-old woman who developed empyema and lung collapse due to A. minutum. She initially presented to the emergency department with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Her condition quickly declined within the first day of arrival, leading to respiratory failure and requiring intubation and ICU-level care. Despite receiving intensive antibiotic treatment, the patient needed prolonged intubation and a tracheostomy. Initial cultures indicated Streptococcus intermedius and Lactobacillus minutus, but final culture results identified A. minutum as the cause. This case highlights the difficulty in diagnosing A. minutum infections, often necessitating advanced DNA sequencing, and raises concerns about potential multidrug resistance. It highlights the importance of prompt identification of the pathogen by laboratories to allow for effective treatment of these rare infections.

أهداف البحث: مقارنة قوة التثبيت بين ضامات روتش المصنوعة من مادة الPEEK و ضامات روتش المصنوعة من الكروم كوبالت, ومقارنة تغير قوة التثبيت بعد تعريضها لدورات فك وتركيب. المواد والطرق: تضمنت عينة الدراسة 16 ضامة (8 ضامات روتش مصنوعة من مادة ال PEEK- 8 ضامات روتش مصنوعة من خليطة الكروم كوبالت), كل دعامة قامت باستقبال ضامتين, تم إجراء المسح ثلاثي الأبعاد للدعامات ووضع تصميم ذات قياسات موحدة للضامات, بعد صنع الضامات تم تقييم قوة التثبيت على 3 فترات ( ثبات أولي- بعد 1095 دورة فك وتركيب- بعد 3285 دورة فك وتركيب). النتائج: بمقارنة ضامات الكروم كوبالت وضامات ال ,PEEK كان هناك فرق إحصائي هام بقوة التثبيت في جميع الفترات لصالح الضامات المعدنية, وبمقارنة تغير ثبات الضامات المعدنية وضامات ال PEEK, كان النقص في الثبات هام إحصائياً في جميع الفترات لصالح دورات الفك الأقل دوماً. الاستنتاجات: يمكن استخدام مادة ال PEEK لصنع ضامات الجهاز الجزئي المتحرك, تظهر ضامات المعدن ثبات أكبر من ضامات ال PEEK, كلٌ من المعدن وال PEEK يظهر تناقصاً في الثبات مع مرور الزمن.

La gestione mirata della temperatura (TTM) è un intervento neuroprotettivo cruciale impiegato nelle unità di terapia intensiva per migliorare la prognosi dei pazienti dopo un arresto cardiaco. Il brivido, un effetto collaterale comune della TTM, mette in discussione i suoi benefici neuroprotettivi. Questa scoping review mira a valutare la letteratura disponibile sulle terapie non farmacologiche per il brivido nei pazienti con TTM, identificando le lacune e le potenziali aree di ricerca future. Sono stati analizzati 13 studi sul tema, che hanno coinvolto 743 soggetti, con particolare attenzione alla TTM neuroprotettiva. La revisione ha evidenziato la natura incoerente della letteratura esistente sui trattamenti non farmacologici del brivido, sottolineando la necessità di interventi efficaci supportati da studi clinici. Le coperte ad aria forzata sono emerse come un approccio frequentemente esplorato ed efficace. Lo studio fornisce una base per la ricerca futura sulle terapie non farmacologiche, sottolineando l'importanza di una valutazione oggettiva del brivido e di strumenti di misurazione validati.

One of the greatest challenges experienced by teachers teaching students who learn English as a foreign or a second language is teaching a class consisting of fast learners and slow learners commonly referred to as mixed-ability classes. The present study investigates challenges experienced by teachers of English language classes encompassing slow learners and fast learners. Data was collected using survey questionnaire and analyzed using Microsoft excel. Results revealed that teachers of English language experience several challenges: mixed-ability class tend to be uncooperative and fast learners get bored easily; challenges in planning for the lesson to teach a mixed-ability class; challenges in creating appropriate work-materials for the mixed-ability class; lack of best approaches to manage mixed-ability class; challenges in getting attention of all learners in a mixed-ability class; and frustration when teaching mixed-ability classroom due to low motivation of weak students.

Background: Supplemental oxygen therapy is one of the main therapies used to manage respiratory distress; it must be given in a way that is both safe and efficient. To provide standardized care, competency-based training should be designed to prioritize the practical skills and talents of the nurses over the provision of theoretical knowledge. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of competency-based training on nurses’ performance regarding oxygen administration safety for infants with respiratory disorders. The setting: The study was conducted at the pediatric critical care units at Mansoura University Hospital. Design: The quasi-experimental study was used. The sample: A convenient sampling technique was used for recruiting pediatric critical care nurses and the infants who were admitted in the previous setting. Data collection: three tools were utilized in this study: the first was a structured interview questionnaire encompassing the socio-demographic characteristics of the studied nurses and infants. The second tool is nurses’ knowledge and an observation checklist to assess nurse practices regarding oxygen administration safety. The third tool, the nurse competence scale (NCS). Results: pediatric critical care nurses’ standardization (knowledge, practice, and knowledge application) through pre- and post-intervention. It showed a marked improvement in mean score and standard deviation in the post compared to pre, and the total mean was in the post (15.9 ± 3.8) compared to pre (33.5 ± 7.2) with a p-value

Background: One of the most common procedures for changing the shape of a person's body is abdominoplasty, which often includes monsplasty. It is one of the top five procedures in cosmetic surgery. Abdominoplasty and body lift operations may begin with a monsplasty. Here, we detail a novel method for treating pubic deformities triggered by massive weight reduction.Aim of the Work: The purpose of this research was to evaluate how happy our patients were with the results of their monsplasty and abdominoplasty procedures following significant weight loss. Our team also tried to develop a surgical care decision-making system.Patients and Methods: This prospective study involved 30 cases designed to assess the outcome of a combination of both abdominoplasty with monsplasty in patients with massive weight loss either dietary or post bariatric surgery. The 30 patients were divided into two groups: Group A: 19 patients who had undergone monsplasty with abdominoplasty, and Group B: 11 patients who opted for standard abdominoplasty without monsplasty.Results: Every individual in group 1 was quite pleased with their surgical outcomes. At the 6-month follow-up, the surgical correction had appeared permanent, with no signs of residual or recurrent deformity. In Group A, all participants underwent monsplasty and were 100% satisfied. Background: Recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis [RVVC] is a common condition affecting millions of women worldwide. It is associated with significant morbidity. Vulvovaginal candidiasis affects up to 75% of women of childbearing age once in their life, and up to 9% of women in different populations experience more than three episodes per year, which is defined as recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis [RVVC].The Aim of the work was to test efficacy of povidone iodine vaginal swabs in treatment of recurrent vaginal candidiasis.Patients and Methods: This study included 210 women, who suffered from symptomatic acute episode of RVVC, and attended Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Al-Azhar university hospital Damietta. They were divided into three groups: Group A [70 women] who were treated with povidone iodine vaginal swabs. Group B [70 patients] who were treated with oral fluconazole and topical azole therapy. Group C [70 patients] who were treated with a combination of povidone iodine swabs and fluconazole. The overall clinical cure rate and improvement were assessed and compared between groups.Results: There was no significant difference between study groups, regarding overall clinical cure rate, which was higher in group C. As the clinical cure, improvement and no improvement percentage were in group A, 62.8%, 27.2%, 10% respectively. In group B, the values were 60.0%, 28.5%, and 11.5%, respectively. The values in group C were 65.7%, 31.3% and 3.2% with the same order. However, the recurrence rate 6 months after treatment was significantly different between groups [it was 7.9%, 3.2% and 1.47% in groups A, B and C, respectively].Conclusion: Povidone iodine swabs were effective in treatment of RVVC as medical treatment almost with lower cost and lower side effects with good compliance.

Abstract Background The Oxford Knee Score (OKS) has been designed for patients with knee osteoarthritis and has a widespread use. It has 12 questions, with each question having the same weight for the overall score. Some authors have observed a significant ceiling effect, especially when distinguishing slight postoperative differences. We hypothesized that each questions’ weight will depend significantly on the patient’s sociodemographic data and lifestyle. Methods In this international multicentric prospective study, we included patients attending a specialist outpatient knee clinic. Each patient filled out 3 questionnaires: (a) demographic data and data pertaining to the OKS, (b) the standard OKS, and (c) the patient gave a mark on the weight of the importance of each question, using a 5-point Likert scale (G OKS). Linear regression models were used for the analysis. Results In total 203 patients (106 female and 97 male) with a mean age of 64.5 (±12.7) years and a mean body mass index (BMI) of 29.34 (±5.45) kg/m2 were included. The most important questions for the patients were the questions for pain, washing, night pain, stability, and walking stairs with a median of 5. In the regression models, age, gender, and driving ability were the most important factors for the weight of each of the question. Conclusion The questions in the OKS differ significantly in weight for each patient, based on sociodemographic data, such as age, self-use of a car, and employment. With these differences, the Oxford Knee Score might be limited as an outcome measure. Adjustment of the OKS that incorporates the demographic differences into the final score might be useful if the ceiling effect is to be mitigated. Patients undertaking long-lasting implantable pacemakers are challenged with numerous mental and psychosocial problems. Educating cardiac patients implanting pacemaker with important items regarding self-care management may stop healthcare problems. Purpose: of this research was determine the impact of interventional sessions for patients with pacemakers concerning coping, quality of life and self-care management. Methods: A quasi-experimental study was used with a sample of 45 patients with pacemakers. The current investigation was conducted at Damietta's specialized heart and digestive system center, affiliated with the Ministry of Health, Egypt. Five main tools were used in this study: A questionnaire (self-administered), Patients’ knowledge survey, a Short-form Health Assessment and Coping Strategy Indicator. Results: showed that the educational program improved the coping, self-efficacy, and quality of life of patients with pacemakers in the post-intervention period compared with the pre-intervention period, with highly statistically significant improvements within all items (P ≤ 0.05). Finally, there was a statistically significant relationship between age and coping of patients with pacemakers pre and post program intervention (p =.001). Conclusion: This research suggested that an essential component of the overall care of patients receiving pacemakers should be the teaching program. Upon admission, all patients receiving pacemaker implantation should get a thorough booklet that has been simplified and includes updated guidelines about pacemaker management. Patients who are illiterate should be provided with clear explanations using photographs.

هدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة تأثير الخل الأبيض على مستعمرات المبيضات البيض في الأجهزة المتحركة الإكريلية الكاملة، وذلك بالمقارنة مع طريقة غمر الأجهزة بمحلول هيبوكلوريت الصوديوم. المواد والطرق: تم أخذ مسحات من السطح الباطن للجهاز الكامل العلوي لـ 20 مريض من المراجعين لقسم التعويضات المتحركة في كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة تشرين، تتراوح أعمارهم من 50 ل 70 سنة مصابين بالتهاب الفم الجهازي للتحري عن وجود فطور المبيضات البيض،وشملت الحالات التي عكست نتيجة إيجابية فقط، ثم تم تقسيم المرضى عشوائياً إلى مجموعتين كل مجموعة مكونة من عشرة مرضى في المجموعة الأولى:تم غمر الأجهزة الكاملة العلوية في محلول الخل الأبيض نسبة4%لمدة 3ساعات، وقد توصلنا لهذه النسبة بعد إجراء دراسة تجريبية مطولة. في المجموعة الثانية: تم غمر الأجهزة الكاملة العلوية لكل مريض في محلول هيبوكلوريت الصوديوم 1% لمدة عشرة دقائق، ثم تم أخذ مسحات من منطقتين مختلفتين على السطح الباطن للجهاز الكامل العلوي وذلك قبل بدء المعالجة، وبعد انتهائها , لونت المسحات بالكحول وصبغت بصبغة الغرام ثم زرعت على وسط نمو انتقائي لفطور المبيضات البيض، وحضنت في الحاضنة بدرجة 37 مئوية لمدة 48 ساعة ثم تم القيام بتعداد المستعمرات المتشكلة. النتائج:أظهر الغمر بمحلول الخل الأبيض 4% لمدة 3 ساعات تعقيماً لكل الأجهزة العلوية المدروسة المستعمرة بفطور المبيضات البيض، بينما أظهرت طريقة الغمر بمحلول هيبوكلوريت الصوديوم 1% لمدة عشر دقائق انخفاضاً جوهرياً في عدد فطور مستعمرات المبيضات البيض بعد المعالجة بالمقارنة مع تعدادها قبل المعالجة. الاستنتاجات: إن تعريض الأجهزة المتحركة الكاملة العلوية المستعمرة بفطور المبيضات البيض لمحلول الخل الأبيض 4%لمدة 3 ساعات يعتبر كافياً لتعقيمها، وبالتالي يمكن استخدام هذه الطريقة من أجل الوقاية أو معالجة التهاب الفم الجهازي لدى مرتدي الأجهزة التعويضية الكاملة، أو من أجل الوقاية من حدوث انتقال الإنتان بين العيادة والمخابر السنية

المقدمة: إن لمرضى الدرد خصوصية في التعامل عند الأطباء الممارسين نظرا للتحديات التي تواجههم لمحاكاة الوضع السابق للمريض ، ومن بين هذه التحديات إعادة التناسق والانسجام للوجه والعامل الأهم التي تقوم عليه هذه الألية في الثلث السفلي من الوجه هو البعد العمودي الإطباقي للوجه. الهدف: تكمن أهمية البحث في ايجاد الطريقة الأدق التي تفيد الممارس العام والأخصائي على حد سواء فيما يتعلق بتحديد البعد العمودي للمريض الأدرد و الأكثر تطابقا مع البعد العمودي قبل القلع. المواد والطرائق: تضمنت عينة الدراسة 30 مريض مع بعد عمودي محفوظ والأسنان المتبقية في أحد الفكين أو كلاهما استطباب قلع ، سُجل لكل مريض البعد العمودي الإطباقي قبل القلع اعتمادا على نقاط مرجعية تم تحديدها وحفظها بوساطة صفائح فاكيوم للانف والذقن،بعد قلع الأسنان يتم تحديد النقاط المرجعية ونقوم بقياس البعد العمودي الإطباقي بعدة طرق (لفظ حرف M، البلع ،لفظ حرف O، لقظ حرف E) وتمت مقارنة هذه القياسات مع البعد العمودي الإطباقي قبل القلع . النتائج: لايوجد فرق بين البعد العمودي الإطباقي قبل القلع والقيم (M_2) وذلك خلال كامل فترات المراقبة لايوجد فرق بين البعد العمودي الإطباقي قبل القلع والقيم( O_ 5.5 )وذلك خلال فترات المراقبة لايوجد فرق بين البعد العمودي الإطباقي قبل القلع والقيم( البلع_2 )وذلك خلال اسبوعين بعد القلع يوجد فرق بين البعد العمودي الإطباقي قبل القلع والقيم( E_2) الاستنتاجات: يمكن اعتماد طريقة (M-2 ،O-5.5) في تحديد البعد العمودي الإطباقي لا يمكن اعتماد طريقة طريقة لفظ حرف E في تحديد البعد العمودي الإطباقي.

One technique used to prepare nanoparticles material is Pulsed Laser Ablation in Liquid (PLAL), Silver Oxide nanoparticles (AgO) were prepared by using this technique, where silver target was submerged in ultra-pure water (UPW) at room temperature after that Nd:Yag laser which characteristics by 1064 nm wavelength, Q-switched, and 6ns pulse duration was used to irradiated silver target. This preparation method was used to study the effects of laser irradiation on Nanoparticles synthesized by used varying laser pulse energy 1000 mJ, 500 mJ, and 100 mJ, with 500 pulses each time on the particle size. Nanoparticles are characterized using XRD, SEM, AFM, and UV-Visible spectroscopy. All the structural peaks determined by the XRD test can be indexed as face-centered cubic (FCC) type, the stronger crystalline orientation is located in the (111) plane. The nanoscale particles have an almost spherical shape as inferred from the SEM images. In (1000) mJ laser pulse energy the best smallest particle size was produced. According to AFM results of all films, the particle size 32.45nm, 64.3nm, and 67.86nm respectively for 1000 mJ, 500 mJ, and 100 mJ , the surface roughness affected and increased as increase the laser energy because the increase particle size and aggregation of partials. UV-Visible spectroscopy measured the absorbance of the silver nanoparticle prepared which is increased as increase pulsed laser ablation energy at wavelength 440 nm.
