This paper presents a comprehensive exploration of shock waves in a dusty plasma, incorporating the dynamics of inertial dust and ions with Maxwellian distributed electrons. By deriving the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdV-B) equation and by using its standard solution we analyze the characteristics of the shock front under varying parameters. Furthermore, we conduct a phase plane analysis to elucidate the system's behavior and dynamics by tuning in the parameters that provide various types of perturbation in the system. The investigation sheds light on the intricate behavior of shock waves in dusty plasmas and contributes valuable insights to the understanding of plasma dynamics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study was carried out on the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth pairs of ribs of six specimens of adult Blue bull (Boselaphus tragocamelus) of either sex. These ribs consisted of a head, neck and a tubercle at the proximal end, shaft or body and a costal cartilage at the distal end. An accessory tubercle was located below the main tubercle of the 11th pair of rib at the caudal border of the shaft. The ribs of both the sides had similar structures and sex wise gross variations were not found. The facet on the tubercle of 11th rib was considered to be more concave among other ribs. The groove of the neck was 0.17±0.002 cm and 0.2±0.004 cm deep in females and males, respectively. The facets of the head were separated by a 0.5±0.003 cm and 0.45±0.008 cm wide groove in females and males, respectively. The groove of the head had more width in the 11th rib than others. The costal groove was prominent. The facet on the tubercle of the rib was very extensive and concave. The groove of the neck was 0.18±0.001 cm and 0.14±0.003 cm deep in females and males respectively. The accessory tubercle was placed 3.0±0.41 cm and 2.8±0.34 cm below the proximal tubercle at the caudal border in females and males, respectively. The costal groove was present that ended at about distal 1/3rd of the shaft of the rib. The accessory tubercle was absent in the 12th rib in the Blue bull. The head and tubercle of the 13th rib were fused with each other. So, the neck was found to be absent. The accessory tubercle was absent. The costal groove was prominent which was extended up to the distal 1/3rd of the shaft of the rib like the previous one. The Biometrical observations on different parameters of eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth pairs of ribs of Blue bull reflected significance (P<0.05) differences between the sexes of this species. The present study would be helpful in identification of the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth pairs of ribs of Blue bull and especially the biometrical sexual differentiation of various parameters of ribs would be useful to the wild life professionals for determination of sex of this animal and solving vetero-legal cases related with this species. Maintaining soil carbon is vital under changing climate. Conservation agriculture (CA) is reported to have potential to store soil organic carbon (SOC). The impact of carbon inputs on SOC dynamics and mineralization kinetics, and the priming effect of residue addition under long-term CA in subtropical regions, however, are not clear or adequately evaluated. Therefore, we studied these under a 12-year-old CA-based pigeon pea-wheat cropping system with permanent broad bed with residue (CA-PBB), permanent flatbed with residue (CA-PFB), permanent narrow bed with residue (CA-PNB), and conventional till (CT) treatments. Also, an incubation study was undertaken to understand better the processes involved. Results showed that CA treatments significantly enhanced the total SOC compared to CT practice, and, among them, the CA-PFB exhibited highest total SOC with 36.6% and 35.8% higher values at 0-5 and 5-15 cm depths, respectively. The CA-PFB followed by CA-PBB and CA-PNB had significantly higher carbon management index and carbon retention efficiency than CT. The CA-PFB also showed higher carbon sequestration rates of 68.4 and 188.8 kg ha -1 year -1 , surpassing values of 8.4 and 52.9 kg ha -1 year -1 under CT at 0-5 and 5-15 cm depth, respectively. Furthermore, soil incubation study revealed that the CA systems had higher cumulative mineralization values at 0-5 cm soil layer but lower at 5-15 cm soil compared to CT, indicating a considerable improvement in SOC at 5-15 cm soil depth. On the contrary, the SOC decay rate was higher under CA than CT, and at 35 °C than at 15 °C. A positive priming effect was also observed, depending on the substrate type, pigeon pea residue exhibiting higher priming effect than wheat residue. Nodular calcium poses a great challenge during coronary intervention. The presence of nodular calcium is associated with poor post-procedural outcomes. Without debulking the nodular calcium, it is extremely difficult to pass the coronary hardwires including the balloons and drug-eluting stents across the lesion. Application of high atmospheric pressure during balloon inflation in the presence of nodular calcium leads to vessel perforation which is a catastrophe during coronary intervention. We report a rare case of nodular calcium in the left main coronary artery bifurcation which was successfully cracked with pulses of intravascular lithotripsy in a 75-year-old male with old anterior wall myocardial infarction. Although rotablation and orbital arthrectomy have a role in modifying calcium nodules in coronary arteries, intravascular lithotripsy was also successful in debulking the nodular calcium in the left main coronary artery bifurcation., Competing Interests: Human subjects: Consent was obtained or waived by all participants in this study. Kyphoscoliosis is a well-known spinal deformity. The abnormal curvature in both the coronal and sagittal planes presents unique challenges during pregnancy. This case discusses the management of a 27-year-old primigravida with thoracolumbar kyphoscoliosis, who underwent an emergency cesarean section at 39.3 weeks of gestation. An interdisciplinary team consisting of an obstetrician, pulmonologist, orthopedic surgeon, anesthesiologist, and physiotherapist collaborated in her care. We report a rare case of multiple nodular calcium in the left anterior descending coronary artery in an octogenarian presenting with unstable angina. Dilatation with the noncompliant and scoring balloon could not yield the nodular calcium and it was only the cutting balloon that could yield the nodular calcium and successful coronary angioplasty could be accomplished with good angiographic results with distal Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (III) flow. We report an extremely rare case of gooseneck snare-assisted retrieval of an embolized coronary guidewire from the aortic arch in an elderly male scheduled for a transradial coronary angiogram for unstable angina. In this case, the proximal end of the embolized coronary guidewire could not be retrieved from the brachial artery nor the roomy aortic root using a flower petal snare. We report an extremely rare case of long-standing (> six months) minimal pericardial effusion attributed to dermatomyositis. The patient was inadvertently administered antitubercular drug therapy for three months after which the patient developed significant weight loss, extreme anorexia, nausea, and vomiting refractory to conventional management. We report a first and interesting case of balloon-assisted deployment of a dislodged coronary stent. While performing a calcified left circumflex coronary artery (LCX) intervention, the drug-eluting coronary stent was dislodged in the osteoproximal segment of the calcified and tortuous LCX. The dislodged stent was rewired, progressively dilated with multiple balloons and, finally, a larger, balloon-mounted stent was pushed forward, positioned across the coronary lesion and deployed, resulting in distal thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) III flow with good angiographic results. We report a rare case of radial arteriovenous fistula in a middle-aged person after a successful transradial percutaneous coronary intervention. Early release of manual radial compression was the culprit behind the development of radial arteriovenous fistula. Early surgical repair of the radial arteriovenous fistula resulted in the complete resolution of distal forearm symptoms in the abovementioned patient. We report an extremely rare case of spontaneous closure of grade 1 coronary perforation by the snowplow phenomenon during the revascularization of a subtotal occlusion in the left anterior descending coronary artery. Coronary artery perforation is usually a nightmare during coronary intervention in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. While large coronary perforation requires the deployment of a covered stent, small perforations require heparin reversal, prolonged balloon inflation, deployment of small coils, or gel foam closure. Adenosine is a widely used pharmacologic agent in the field of cardiology, predominantly for the termination of supraventricular tachycardias and diagnostic purposes. Most of the side effects are short-lasting due to its very short half-life. Fatal complications of adenosine are rare but can include ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole. Proper medical supervision and monitoring are crucial to minimize risks. The left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) arises from the left coronary sinus about 10-12 mm above the annular plane and traverses down the interventricular groove. With deep septal and diagonal branches, it supplies the left side of the heart. We report the results of THz measurements (30-440 cm -1 ) of aqueous acetic acid solutions over the full mixing range ( X AcAc = 0-1). We recorded spectroscopic observables as a function of the acetic acid concentration in the frequency range of the intermolecular stretch at 150 cm -1 and of the librational modes at 350-440 cm -1 . This allowed us to unravel changes in hydrophobic and hydrophilic hydration motifs, respectively. By means of a novel THz-calorimetry approach, we quantitatively correlated these changes in local hydration motifs to excess mixing entropy and enthalpy. We find that Δ H mix is determined by both hydrophobic and hydrophilic solvation contributions. In contrast, Δ S mix is governed by hydrophobic cavity formation. Our results further suggest that acetic acid-water mixtures are systems at the edge of phase separation due to endothermic contributions from both hydrophilic and hydrophobic solvation in a large portion of the miscibility range. Our work establishes a quantitative relationship between the balance of local hydrophobic and hydrophilic solvation motifs and the macroscopic mixing thermodynamic properties.

Thrombosuction plays a controversial role during primary percutaneous intervention (PCI). Landmark trials have demonstrated no additional role of thrombosuction during primary percutaneous intervention towards improving mortality and outcome during primary percutaneous intervention. We describe a rare elective coronary angioplasty where only aggressive thrombosuction (almost 150-200 mL) of blood from the coronary artery established the antegrade coronary flow and saved an octogenarian from impending sudden cardiac death (SCD). The relationship between the local solvation structures and global thermodynamics, specifically in the case of amphiphilic molecules, is a complex phenomenon and is not yet fully understood. With the prior knowledge that local solvation structures can impose a significant impact on the overall solvation process, we here combine THz spectroscopic analysis with MD simulations to investigate the impact of the altered hydrophobicity and polarity of amphiphilic solute molecules on the local solvation configurations. We use two water soluble alcohols: ethanol (EtOH) and its fluorinated counterpart, 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (TFE), as model solutes. Our study is aimed to determine the relative abundance of different hydrogen bonded conformers and to establish a correlation between the spectral signatures (as obtained from THz spectroscopic measurements) and microscopic solute-solvent interactions associated with the local solvation structures (as obtained from MD simulations). Finally, we estimate the possible energetic parameters associated with the alcohol solubilization process. We found that while both the alcohols are completely water soluble, they receive a contrasting solvation energy share in terms of entropy and enthalpy. We understand that these findings are not limited to the specific system studied here but can be broadly extrapolated to other amphiphilic aqueous solutions.
