Evidence-based medicine (EBM) undeniably classifies as a pre-eminent advance in the clinical approach to decision-making. Although EBM as a topic has been discussed at length, it is more about the process of integrating EBM into practice, wherein the actual debate becomes even more interesting with unique roadblocks cropping up at the very end of the translational highway. Meanwhile, the core concept of EBM has stood firm over decades; it is likely the research landscape and the corresponding intricacies continue to evolve at a rather rampant pace. Evidence-based practice is thus best elaborated in close conjunction with the recent advent of precision medicine, the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, and the ever-compounding present-age research concerns. In this reference, the randomized controlled trials and now the meta-analysis (second-order analysis of analyses) are also being increasingly scrutinized for the contextual veracities and how the quality of the former can be rendered more robust to strengthen our epic pyramid of EBM. Withstanding, the index narrative article is a modern-day take on EBM keeping abreast of the evolving opportunities and challenges, with the noble objective of deliberating a standpoint that aims to potentially bridge some of the existing gaps in the translation of research to patient care and outcome improvement, at large. Objectives: Junctional ectopic tachycardia (JET), an arrhythmia of substantial clinical relevance, is no less than an eternal nemesis in cardiac critical care. Hence, we hereby present a bibliometric study evaluating the research trends in the subject. Material and Methods: A Scopus search-based bibliometric analysis of the keyword “Junctional Tachycardia” OR “Junctional Ectopic Tachycardia” restricted to original articles and reviews was undertaken after excluding the veterinary-related papers. The metadata thus obtained was analyzed using Scimago Graphica 1.0.42 and VOSviewer version 1.6.20 to generate a graphical representation of the trends and the timelines based on the author keywords. Results: A total of 926 papers of interest were identified and selected for the analysis, which revealed the geographical distribution of productivity being primarily concentrated in the Western developed nations, topic receptiveness largely appreciated in cardiovascular-related journals, and increased yearly output of the JETassociated papers. Further perusal identified 79 most frequently observed author keywords when limited to a minimum of 5 co-occurrences, which were grouped into seven color-coded clusters by VOSviewer, and mapped into keyword as well as author network, overlay, and density projections. Conclusion: Bibliometric analysis of JET papers from 1967 to 2024 shows a growing interest in the topic, awaiting newer insights into the molecular mechanisms and the preventative treatment strategies. This article examines the research trends in optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) monitoring through a bibliometric study. The study reveals a consistent increase in the number of articles on ONSD, with the highest number of publications in 2023. The analysis of keywords indicates that ONSD monitoring is widely used for predicting neurological outcomes and has gained significance in non-neurological intensive care settings. The article also highlights the potential of ONSD monitoring for non-invasive intracranial pressure measurement in neurosurgery. However, the study's inclusion of all PubMed titles may have led to the repetition of keywords, limiting its findings.
