Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of R788, a spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) inhibitor for rheumatoid arthritis. Results indicated that such an inhibitor did reduce disease activity in the case of such patients; however, adverse events included diarrhea, hypertension and neutropenia, thereby calling for further research on the same.

Abstract

Two patients with mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome are presented. During the course of their illness, they developed acute abdominal pain secondary to hydrops of the gallbladder. The diagnosis and manageral of each case was facilitated by ultrasonography.
