Actualmente se producen y comercializan en el país aerogeneradores de baja potencia que en general no cuentan con una evaluación de su impacto ambiental. En este trabajo se estudia el impacto ambiental de producir un aerogenerador de 1,3 kW mediante un análisis de ciclo de vida (ACV). Se procedió a realizar un inventario de todos los materiales y procesos consumidos en la fabricación, para desarrollar su ciclo de vida y analizarlo posteriormente. Como conclusiones se puede resaltar que los materiales y/o procesos de fabricación asociados a la fabricación de la torre y el generador son los que más contribuyen al impacto total calculado, que principalmente producirá daños potenciales sobre la salud humana, en menor medida sobre los recursos naturales y por último en la calidad de los ecosistemas, de acuerdo al método de análisis seleccionado., Currently, small wind turbines which don`t generally have an evaluation of their environmental impact are produced and commercialized in Argentina. In this paper, the impact of producing an 1,3 kW wind turbine is studied using a life cycle analysis (LCA). An inventory of all the materials and processes consumed in the manufacturing stage was carried out, followed by the development and analysis of its life cycle. As conclusions, it can be pointed out that the greater contribution to the impact lies in the tower and the generator. Previous studies have shown the existence of either cellular or humoral MBP-reactive elements up to 5 years after spinal cord injury (SCI), but not the presence of both after 10 years.Twelve SCI patients, with more than 10 years of evolution, and 18 healthy blood donors were studied. Lymphocyte proliferation (colorimetric-BrdU ELISA assay) and antibody titers against MBP (ELISA Human IgG MBP-specific assay) were assessed.SCI patients presented a significant T-cell proliferation against MBP (lymphocyte proliferation index: 3.7 ± 1.5, mean ± SD) compared to control individuals (0.7 ± 0.3; P0.001). Humoral response analysis yielded a significant difference (P0.0001) between the antibody titers of controls and SCI patients. A significant correlation between cellular and humoral responses was observed. Finally, patients with an ASIA B presented the highest immune responses.This work demonstrates, for the first time, the existence of both cellular and humoral responses against MBP in the chronic stages (10 years) of injury.

In previous work, we identified the peptide comprising amino acids 32-51 on the antimicrobial protein limulus anti-LPS factor (LALF) from Limulus poliphemus, based on its capacity to bind to the bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). In this study, we designed a chemical peptide library by alanine scanning from the sequence of the LALF32-51 peptide. Four new peptides, named L-2, L-8, L-12 and L-20 by the Ala residue substituted in the given position of the LALF32-51 peptide, were identified as retaining their penetrating activity but also showing antitumor effects when subcutaneously administered in female C57Bl/6 mice after the implantation of malignant TC-1 lung epithelial cells. They significantly increased animal survival (p < 0.05) as compared to LALF32-51. The substitution of Tyr residue to Ala at position 2 in the peptide sequence enhanced the cytotoxic effect, while residues Phe8, Lys12 and Trp20 were essential for the antitumor activity. Moreover, the administration of the L-2 peptide significantly reduced tumor growth in comparison to PBS- or L-20 peptide-treated lung TC-1 cells in C57Bl/6 mice. L-2 was found to deregulate the tumor cell cycle and induces apoptosis, through mechanisms affecting glycolytic and protein biosynthesis pathways. It also significantly increased survival in human colon cancer LS-174T xenotransplanted nude mice for up to 32 days, two of the animals being tumor free. The L-2 peptide could serve as peptide-based prototype drug with potential to reduce tumor load or could be coadministered with conventional chemotherapy. This research granted the 2013 Award of the Cuban National Academy of Sciences.

En este artículo se presenta un generador de preguntas basado en chunks y otro generador basado en dependencias sintácticas. Ambos generan preguntas en euskera a nivel de frase y utilizan el rasgo de animado/inanimado de los nombres, las entidades nombradas y los roles semánticos de los verbos, así como la morfología de los sintagmas nominales. Se describen dos experimentos de generación de preguntas basadas en textos didácticos, en los que una lingüista analiza la gramaticalidad y lo apropiado de las preguntas generadas a partir de frases simples, así como sus correspondientes pronombres interrogativos. This article presents a chunker-based question generator (QG) and a QG system based on syntactic dependencies. Both systems generate questions in Basque at the sentence level and make use of the animate/inanimate feature of the nouns, named entities, semantic roles of the verbs, and the morphology of the noun phrases. Two experiments to generate questions were carried out based on educational texts. Then, a linguist analysed the grammaticality and appropriateness of the questions generated from single sentences, as well as their interrogative pronoun.
