Some of these techniques are Voice-to-Skull (V2K), Synthetic Telepathy, Electronic Harassment, Microwave Hearing, Boys-to-School technology, Voice-of-God weapon, and Brain- Computer-Interface (BCI). You may have not heard of these terms earlier, but we found many websites dedicated to this phenomenon. These voices are being transmitted by microwaves and by misuse of online surveillance technologies. These methods, unfortunately, have become another tool to aid organized crimes run by criminals and terrorist groups worldwide. Media in the USA had widely reported such types of cybercrimes in the past decade. Their law enforcement agencies faced challenges to counter such offenses. We would like to bring to your attention an overview of this less talked about form of online crime and a few ways to protect ourselves from being its victims.

Abstract: Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic, air-borne infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), which prominently affects the lungs and usually manifests in other organs. TB is preventable and curable but what makes it challenging is the emergence of resistance to the available treatment options. MDR-continued TB's expansion is one of the world's most pressing and difficult problems. Mtb revives via the reciprocity between Mycobacterium and host signalling pathways. Mtb secretes a virulence component called Mycobacterium tuberculosis protein tyrosine phosphatase (MptpB), which helps to survive against host macrophages. It indicates that targeting secreted virulence factors offers more benefits to circumvent the emergence of resistance. Many effective inhibitors of MptpA and MptpB have been discovered, providing a solid foundation for future research and development. Aside from possessing a structurally unique binding site in the Mtb enzyme, MptpB's minimal resemblance to other human phosphatases provides a broad platform for improving selectivity over host PTPs. We believe that addressing several parts of infection processes in the host and bacteria with combination therapy is the greatest way to reduce treatment burden and medication resistance. We have discussed the recent potent, selective, and efficacious MptpB inhibitors, such as natural and marine-based, isoxazole- linked carboxylic acid-based, oxamic acid-based, and lactone-based inhibitors, as potential strategies for treating TB.

This paper compares the performance of three popular convolutional neural network (CNN) models, VGG-16, VGG-19, and ResNet-101, for the task of suspicious activity detection. The VGG networks are known for their depth and the use of small convolutional filters, while ResNet is known for its residual connections that allow for deeper networks without the issue of vanishing gradients. The study utilizes a dataset of surveillance videos for training and testing the models. The results show that the VGG-19 model outperforms the other two in terms of accuracy, specifically for the detection of suspicious activities. Overall, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of the three different models for suspicious activity detection and highlights its potential for use in real-world surveillance systems.

Number of accidents are increasing in foggy weather, to prevent this there should be a system to detect an object beforehand in fog. Object detection in foggy weather can be a challenging task due to the reduced visibility and the limitations of traditional vision-based methods. In this article, we introduce a way for object detection using Arduino microcontroller and an Ultrasonic sensors. It is designed to alert the driver to any objects in front of the vehicle via a buzzer and LED. To make sure this, we connected an ultrasonic sensor to identify the object and also the distance from the driver and alert the driver about the object.

Working in today’s corporate world requires users to switch between keyboard and mouse constantly. According to a survey conducted, an average user switches between keyboard and mouse 90 times in an hour. These frequent switches cause several discomforts to the user and the user’s efficiency takes a major fall. Use of touchpad in place of mouse is one another major setback. It has been noticed that a user switching from mouse/touchpad to keyboard and vice versa consumes time in completing a task as compared to a user depending entirely on keyboard.

Fondaparinux is the first approved anticoagulant drug among factor Xa inhibitors, with proven effectiveness and safety in preventing deep vein thrombosis. However, limited data are available supporting the benefit-risk profile of fondaparinux vs enoxaparin in a real-world group of Indian patients with deep vein thrombosis.To compare the effectiveness and tolerability of fondaparinux vs enoxaparin in patients with symptomatic deep vein thrombosis in a long-term real-world setting.Data from the electronic medical records of adult patients diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis prescribed fondaparinux (n = 503) or enoxaparin (n = 508) as monotherapy were analyzed. Effectiveness was analyzed in terms of recurrence, duration, and type of deep vein thrombosis event, and tolerability as bleeding events at initial hospitalization and follow-up visits up to 3 months duration. Appropriate statistical methods were used to determine the significance (p0.05) between the two groups.The deep vein thrombosis recurrence in the fondaparinux group was non-inferior (2.78%) when compared with enoxaparin (3.76%), with a mean duration of 47 and 48 days, respectively. The number of events and mean duration of events (in days) were not significant (p0.05). Major bleeding events were higher in the enoxaparin group at 3.17% than the fondaparinux group at 2.19%, and the difference was not statistically significant (p0.05).The weight-based, once-daily subcutaneous fondaparinux dose showed non-inferior effectiveness and a comparable tolerability profile when compared with the twice-daily enoxaparin dose for the management of symptomatic deep vein thrombosis.

Introduction The renoprotective effects of dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers (CCBs) have been established as non-inferior to other classes of antihypertensive drugs. Studying their effect on renal outcome parameters, specifically for amlodipine as monotherapy, in real-world settings can further help in expanding its usage among Indian patients. This study was performed to assess the effects of amlodipine and other dihydropyridine CCBs (cilnidipine, benidipine and azelnidipine) on renal parameters and effectiveness in blood pressure reduction in Indian patients. Methods The retrospective data of adult patients (> 18 years) with essential hypertensive who were prescribed amlodipine (n = 92), cilnidipine (n = 91), benidipine (n = 70) or azelnidipine (n = 71) as monotherapy were analyzed. The renal outcomes, serum creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), microalbumin, urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR), sodium and potassium levels, and mean changes in BP were analyzed from baseline to 12 months. Appropriate statistical methods were used to determine the significance (p value 0.05). No significant changes were observed in BUN, sodium or potassium levels. Overall, for all CCBs, the mean systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) values were reduced from baseline to the end of the study (p = 0.002). At the end of the study, the average dose of amlodipine was 7.25 mg, and the average reduction in SBP and DBP per mg dose was 1.54 and 0.57 mmHg. The corresponding numbers for the other CCBs were as follows: cilnidipine, 14.28 mg, 0.26 and 0.01; benidipine, 5.71 mg, 0.41 and 0.11; azelnidipine, 15.88 mg, 0.13 and 0.06. Conclusion Amlodipine and other CCBs demonstrated good efficacy and similar effects on renal parameters from baseline to end of study. Amlodipine also showed higher potency by demonstrating greater BP reduction at a lower dose. Thus, amlodipine can remain a preferred choice among CCBs, even with the advent of the newer CCBs. This paper presents a secure and reliable home automation system in order to make everyone’s life simpler and fulfil the needs of the disabled or the elderly. The paper proposes a system based on efficient smart watch that uses arduino microcontroller which is embedded with a WIFI module and enables us to control a number of home appliances such as lights, fans and others using on/off relay. In our work, the appliances need not to be smart beforehand as arduino would be externally connected to them such that the system designed would be controlled by gestures i.e. users can control the working of the appliances by moving their hand in upward or downward direction over the screen. This system is comparatively efficient and cost effective than other proposed systems in terms of scalability and reliability. Also, the proposed system has been thoroughly tested and verified in various environmental conditions.

Today and possibly for a long time to come, the full driving task is too complex an activity to be fully formalized as a sensing-acting robotics system that can be explicitly solved through model based and learning-based approaches in order to achieve full unconstrained vehicles autonomy. Vehicle control, mapping, scene perception, trajectory optimization, and higher-level planning decisions are open challenges for autonomous vehicle development. This is especially true for real-world operation where the margin of allowable error is extremely small and the number of edge-cases is extremely large. Human beings will remain an integral part of monitoring the AI system as it performs anywhere from just over 0% to just under 100% of the driving until we solved these problems. We are continually developing new methods for analysis of the massive-scale dataset collected from various vehicle owners. Many recorded data has various messages, and high-de?nition video streams of the driver face, the driver cabin, the forward roadway, and the instrument cluster. The study is on- going and growing. Till date, we have 110 participants, 11,945 days of participation, 89,405,807 miles, and 10.9 billion video frames. Here we presents the design of the study, the data collection hardware, the processing of the data, and the computer vision algorithms currently being used to extract actionable knowledge from the data.

The Dynamic Autonomous Road Transit (DART) is a novel concept for developing a smart public transportation (PT) system. It is currently under progress at TUMCREATE Singapore. The city-state of Singapore is known for optimizing its limited land resources and maintaining a flourishing balance between society, economy and environment by planning well in advance for the future. In the view of scarcity of land and increasing population, travel demand and construction costs, the city further aims to have sophisticated PT systems without expanding its already significantly vast road infrastructure. The DART system as a new PT solution seeks to bridge the existing capacity gap between the existing Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Bus systems featuring fully autonomous vehicle modules integrated within a hi-tech, sustainable and efficient system design. This paper discusses the DART concept followed by more detailed explanation about its use-case: capacity more than bus. For this use-case, the DART network planning and the two key features of this system: platooning and virtual right of way are presented.

Reliability analysis is used as a vital tool to predict the uncertainty and take right decisions. It is very important for engineers to predict the behaviour of soil and construction-materials (after construction) used in infrastructures. California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test is performed to measure the strength of soil, is often used as a design parameter of sub-grade for the design of flexible pavement. CBR test is a laborious test; therefore, it is vital to develop the models for quick assessment of CBR value. This study presents a review to determine the CBR value from reliability analysis which is quicker to estimate from their standard method of testing. In this study authors review predictive models using different sets of soil samples containing different index and engineering properties.

AIM: To study the relationship of timing of cord clamping to the hematocrit and hemoglobin values within 0- 6 hours of life - comparison in term normal vaginal delivery to cesarean delivery. Clamping and cutting of the umbilical cord at birth is by far the oldest and most prevalent intervention in humans. In spite of that the optimal time of cord clamping has been a controversial issue for decades. There are no formal practice guidelines as such but practitioners in western countries clamp and cut the cord immediately after birth while the practice worldwide is variable. OBJECTIVE: To study and observe the effect of timing of cord clamping on neonatal hematocrit and hemoglobin within 0 - 6 hours of life & compare in term normal vaginal delivery to cesarean delivery. METHODS: This is a randomized, control trial conducted in the Dept. of Pediatrics and Dept. of Gyn & Obst., Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & hospital. Jaipur, between 20 th to 30 th September 2013. Patients admitted in labor ward were selected according to the inclusion criteria of the study. Group A included 50 term normal vaginal delivery babies in whom the time of cord clamp from birth was noted and a cord blood or venous blood of baby was send within 6 hours of life for estimation of hematocrit & hemoglobin values, while group B included 50 term babies born via cesarean section and same procedure was followed. RESULTS: It was observed that delayed cord clamping (at 1 or 2 minutes after birth) in healthy term newborns increases hematocrit & hemoglobin value within physiologic ranges without causing any harmful effects. Umbilical cord clamping at 1 minute of life increases hematocrit in no more than much 8- 10 points compared with cord clamping in first 15 seconds after birth. As per normal practice of early cord clamping in Indian scenario timing of cord clamping in term normal vaginal delivery was at least more than 30 seconds to 1 minute while in term babies born via cesarean section was 15 to 30 seconds on an average. Limitations: For further evaluation of hematological status of healthy infants beyond 6 hours of life it is difficult to get consent of parents without any obvious cause to investigate. CONCLUSION: Delayed cord clamping at birth increases neonatal hematological status within a physiologic range. Neither significant differences nor harmful effects were observed among the two groups. Furthermore, this intervention seems to reduce neonatal anemia. This practice has been shown to be safe and should be implemented to increase the hematological status of Indian newborn babies.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) related impact results in a permanent need for help in performing daily activities. Standard treatment consists of removing the cause, restore perfusion, support metabolic requirement and limit inflammatory and oxidative damage. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is one such newer promising treatment that enhances neurological recovery to some extent. HBOT is intermittent inhalation of 100% oxygen at greater than normal atmospheric pressure and is internationally accepted for its role in well-defined indications. It is hypothesised that HBO has a role in reviving 'idling neurons', also called the ischemic penumbra defined as area of reduced cerebral blood flow, abolished synaptic activity but preserved structural integrity. We carried out a retrospective analysis of medical records of 20 patients of TBI who had been treated with HBOT in addition to standard management. These were placed in Group A (test group) and received at least 30 sessions of HBO along with standard treatment. The patients were assessed along the Disability Rating Scale (DRS), Glasgow coma scale (GCS) and Rancho Los Amigos Scale (RLAS). Another 20 patients of TBI, matched in age and severity of brain injury, who received standard treatment but not HBOT, were selected as the control group (Group B). Assessment on the DRS showed maximum improvement in patients with scores of 22-24 (vegetative state).The percentage of patients in the test group fell from 45% to 5% whereas only 20% patients in Group B had similar progress. After the treatment, a significantly higher proportion of HBOT treated subjects showed a good response in cognitive functions, as measured by RLA. In group A, 90% patients had a score of ≤ 3 and in Group B 95% had a similar score, which improved to ≥ 3 in 60% patients versus 30% patients respectively. In both groups maximum patients are in 1-6 months post-injury category and within the groups this category showed the greatest recovery, with a greater improvement in the test group as compared to control group.

Carbon Monoxide is one of the most common causes of inhalation poisoning worldwide and can result in significant morbidity due to persistent neuropathology and cognitive sequelae. The manifestation of carbon monoxide poisoning are non specific and severity of symptoms range from mild such as headache, confusion, lack of energy to severe, such as coma, respiratory depression, cardiac dysfunction and even death. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been used for decades in the treatment of acute and delayed effects of carbon monoxide poisoning. Hyperbaric Oxygen is the only treatment for acute CO poisoning where it competes with CarboxyHemoglobin preventing the resultant damage and in delayed neuropsychological sequelae. This case report is of a young lady from rural Haryana presented after 48 hours of CO Poisoning with acute confusion, partial retrograde and complete anterograde memory loss. Following 15 days of hyperbaric oxygen she showed near complete recovery and her Mini Mental Scale Examination (MMSE) score which was 12/30 on the first day went up to 29/30. This case demonstrates that HBO therapy is efficacious in recovery of delayed neuropsychiatric sequelae of Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

By using the concept of Bartlett-Hanning (MBH) window, a new window is proposed which may be referred as "Proposed Window". It is found that with parameter a = 0.0625, this window can attain a slightly reduced half main lobe width as compared to the Blackman window, a maximum side lobes level (MSLL) of −66 dB which is approx. −8 dB better as compared to Blackman window and maximum first side lobes level (FSLL) of −75.4 dB which is approx. −18 dB better as compared to Blackman window. The Proposed Window is also analyzed on other useful parameters with conventional window. Here we are designing digital finite impulse response (FIR) low pass filter based on the Proposed Window and it is found that the designed FIR filter is more efficient as compared to the conventional FIR filters.

With the increasing prevalence of diabetes in the community, morbidity and mortality as a result of diabetic feet has been increasing. Foot complications are one of the most serious and yet preventable complications of diabetes mellitus having an economic impact to the individual and adding the burden to the already inadequate healthcare resources. There are more than 170 million diabetics worldwide of which about 30 million are in India and this number is expected to double by year 2030. Of these about 15% will develop an open foot ulcer. Twnty percent of these ulcers may eventually lead to an amputation. More than 80% of these lesions can be easily prevented or managed with timely and optimum intervention with a combined team approach including Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) therapy. Recent research in the role of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in diabetic wounds has confirmed its role in promoting oxygenation, enhance immune mechanisms, neovascular formation, fibroblast proliferation and other beneficial actions. It is now accepted as a useful adjunctive treatment in a select group of diabetic patients with severe or limb threatening wounds. This article discusses the physiological basis, role and place of HBOT in the modern multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of diabetic foot wounds.

The basis of treatment with Hyperbaric Oxygen in neurology cases is the presence of an ischemic penumbra having hibernating neurons that can be revived. This area can be delineated with the help of SPECT and perfusion MRIs. The Hyperbaric Unit at the Apollo Hospital has treated 165 patients with various neurological illnesses over the years from its inception in May 2000 till May 2005. The unpredictable correlation between the structural model of neurology and the functional responses in patients is leading to a belief that there is more to the plasticity of the brain than was earlier believed. The treatment was prescribed with the intent of gaining first hand experience on response to Hyperbaric Oxygen in neurological illnesses and did not follow a predefined protocol. On the basis of our preliminary experience we are of the opinion that there appears evidence of a physiological basis for a possible role of Hyperbaric Oxygen in management of well-defined ischemic and anoxic neurological illnesses. There is however a need for definition of specific indications, patient selection, therapeutic window period, dosage, frequency, and periodicity.

Cancer treatment has improved significantly over the past decade and there is an ongoing focus on not only finding more and better ways to treat cancers but also to improve quality of life of the cancer survivor. One-half of the estimated 1.2 million new cases of invasive cancer will receive radiation therapy as a part of their cancer treatment and despite best efforts, 5% of patients will develop severe reactions to radiation therapy. The goal of radiation therapy is to eradicate tumors with minimal, if any, adverse effects. However despite preventive measures permanent damage may occur. This leads often, to painful and disabling conditions. Conventional treatment of these lesions often has frustrating results. Hyperbaric Oxygenation (HBO) has been proposed asa part of the overall treatment since the mid 1960s and several studies have reported beneficial effects. Hyperbaric oxygen helps reduce morbidity, disfiguring sequelae and further need for corrective surgery. It is also being evaluated for its role in enhancing radiosenstivity in selected head and neck tumors. This article reviews the role of Hyperbaric oxygen in the management of cancers and the sequalae of side effects due to radiation.

Background: Childhood obesity is not an immediate lethal disease itself, but has a significant risk factors associated with a range of non-communicable diseases in adulthood. The aim of this study to determine the nutritional status of adolescents and to determine the proportion of adolescents having overweight and obesity.Methods: We included 1000 students aged between 10-19 years divided equally between government schools and private schools. This study was a questionnaire based study, only those adolescent children were included who volunteered. All the respondents were introduced to the topic of study and the need to collect sensitive information and were promised confidentiality of the entries.Results: The average age of the study group was 15.20±2.60 years in government schools and 15.28±2.53 years in private schools. The present investigation is designed to work out the isolated and in-combination effects of Zn2+, Cr6+ and Ni2+ to a fish Mystus vittatus. From all the 12 combinations, 6 are antagonistic and 6 are synergistic. The combination Cr/Ni is highly synergistic while combination (Cr + Ni)/Zn is highly antagonistic in nature. The possible mechanisms responsible for antagonistic and synergistic combinations have been discussed and indicated as the occupation of critical receptor sites by less toxic metal (antagonism) or intrinsic affinity of the individual metal for the critical site or relative concentration and distribution of the metals within the target organ site (synergism). The results drawn can be indicated in terms of the effective concentration required to reach a particular level for a particular biological end point and can be expressed as follows.

In vitro effects of four sublethal concentrations (0.10, 0.40, 0.80 and 1.20 micrograms) of mercury (hg) on acid, alkaline and glucose-6-phosphatases of liver, kidney and gills of Notopterus notopterus were studied. The maximum (80.76%) significant (P less than 0.001) inhibition in acid phosphatase of gills and minimum (36.66%) significant (P less than 0.05%) inhibition in alkaline phosphatase of kidney was observed at 1.20 microgram and 0.10 microgram Hg concentrations, respectively. EDTA and ascorbic acid (AA) restored the phosphatase activity to the greatest extent when administered with the Hg.

Effect of sublethal concentrations, 0.088, 0.044, 0.029, 0.022 and 0.0176 mg HgCl2 per liter (1/5, 1/10, 1/15, 1/20, and 1/25 fractions of 96-h LC50) on Na+-K+, Mg2+, and total ATPase activities in brain, gills, kidney and liver of Notopterus notopterus have been studied after 30 days exposure. Na+-K+ ATPase were inhibited maximally and significantly in brain and minimally and insignificantly in liver. Mg2+ ATPase was inhibited maximally and significantly (P less than 0.01) in brain and minimally and insignificantly in kidney. The relative inhibition of total, Na+-K+ and Mg2+ ATPases for the tissues studied were brain greater than gill greater than kidney greater than liver. At the concentration (1/25 fraction) the enzyme activity returned to the normal range.
