5. Preliminary exploration of standardized training of imaging residents based on mixed teaching method

Abstract

Objective To explore a mixed teaching method that can effectively improve the clinical capacity of students in the department of imaging and residence training. Methods Sixty-six students were enrolled in the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University in past recent 2 years and were randomly divided into traditional group, modern group and comprehensive group. Each group adopted corresponding teaching methods. Recording the OSCE scores before and after the standardized training and teaching work, and using questionnaires to obtain students' satisfaction with teaching work and self-evaluation. Results The results of the three groups before and after the standardized training were statistically different (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference in OSCE scores among the three groups before standardized training. After the standardized training of the three groups of students, there was a statistical difference between the OSCE performance groups(P＜0.05),and the comprehensive group was better than the traditional group and the modern group. The comprehensive teaching group had the highest average satisfaction (AS) scores with the teaching mode(4.36). The effective use of time AS scores (4.23 and 4.27) in traditional education group and comprehensive education group were higher than those in modern education group (3.55). The AS scores (3.64 and 3.78) of the traditional group in the application of self-learning ability and clinical skills were lower than those of the modern group and the comprehensive group. Conclusions The quadruple mixed teaching method can effectively improve the clinical knowledge and skills of resident trainees in the imaging department in the residential training.

6. $D_{sJ}(2860)$ From The Semileptonic Decays Of $B_s$ Mesons

Abstract

In the framework of heavy quark effective theory, the leading order Isgur-Wise form factors relevant to semileptonic decays of the ground state $\bar{b}s$ meson $B_{s}$ into orbitally excited $D$-wave $\bar{c}s$ mesons, including the newly observed narrow $D^{*}_{s1}(2860)$ and $D^{*}_{s3}(2860)$ states by the LHCb Collaboration, are calculated with the QCD sum rule method. With these universal form factors, the decay rates and branching ratios are estimated. We find that the decay widths are $\Gamma(B_s\rightarrow D^{*}_{s1}\ell\bar{\nu}) =1.25^{+0.80}_{-0.60}\times10^{-19} \mbox{GeV}$, $\Gamma(B_s\rightarrow D^{'}_{s2}\ell\bar{\nu}) =1.49^{+0.97}_{-0.73}\times10^{-19} \mbox{GeV}$, $\Gamma(B_s\rightarrow D_{s2}\ell\bar{\nu}) =4.48^{+1.05}_{-0.94}\times10^{-17} \mbox{GeV}$, and $\Gamma(B_s\rightarrow D^{*}_{s3}\ell\bar{\nu}) = 1.52^{+0.35}_{-0.31}\times10^{-16} \mbox{GeV}$. The corresponding branching ratios are $\mathcal {B}(B_s\rightarrow D^{*}_{s1}\ell\bar{\nu}) =2.85^{+1.82}_{-1.36}\times 10^{-7}$, $\mathcal {B}(B_s\rightarrow D^{'}_{s2}\ell\bar{\nu}) =3.40^{+2.21}_{-1.66}\times 10^{-7}$, $\mathcal {B}(B_{s}\rightarrow D_{s2}\ell\bar{\nu}) =1.02^{+0.24}_{-0.21}\times 10^{-4}$, and $\mathcal {B}(B_s\rightarrow D^{*}_{s3}\ell\bar{\nu}) = 3.46^{+0.80}_{-0.70}\times 10^{-4}$. Abstract

Ion beam has been used in cancer treatment, and has a unique preferable feature to deposit its main energy inside a human body so that cancer cell could be killed by the ion beam. However, conventional ion accelerator tends to be huge in its size and its cost. In this paper a future intense-laser ion accelerator is proposed to make the ion accelerator compact. An intense femtosecond pulsed laser was employed to accelerate ions. The issues in the laser ion accelerator include the energy efficiency from the laser to the ions, the ion beam collimation, the ion energy spectrum control, the ion beam bunching and the ion particle energy control. In the study particle computer simulations were performed to solve the issues, and each component was designed to control the ion beam quality. When an intense laser illuminates a target, electrons in the target are accelerated and leave from the target; temporarily a strong electric field is formed between the high-energy electrons and the target ions, and the target ions are accelerated. The energy efficiency from the laser to ions was improved by using a solid target with a fine sub-wavelength structure or by a near-critical density gas plasma. The ion beam collimation was realized by holes behind the solid target. The control of the ion energy spectrum and the ion particle energy, and the ion beam bunching were successfully realized by a multi-stage laser-target interaction. The present study proposed a novel concept for a future compact laser ion accelerator, based on each component study required to control the ion beam quality and parameters., Comment: 14 pages & 16 figures. 9. Application and prospect of fermentation technology in skin care industry: 2023^the fifth generation fermentation technology.

Abstract

The evolution of fermentation technology was outlined, offering a comprehensive overview using the skincare industry as a case study/illustrative model. With the integration of various scientific disciplines and the application of emerging technologies, it discusses the diverse purposes, developmental phases, techniques, and prototypical fermentation products presented in various historical contests. Fermentation can be categorized into five stages: traditional fermentation, engineered development, microbiological applications, synthetic biology, and intelligent fermentation. Furthermore, the characteristics, advantages, and effectiveness of fifth-generation fermentation technology were exphasized. Using HiMurchaSin® as an example, how fifth-generation fermentation technology employs a mechanistic exploration guided by 'constituents-efficacy-targets-mechanisms,' to achieve a multi-target anti-aging effect on the skin was explained. Abstract

Space radiation with inherently broadband spectral flux poses a huge danger to astronauts and electronics on aircraft, but it is hard to simulate such feature with conventional radiation sources. Using a tabletop laser-plasma accelerator, we can reproduce exponential energy particle beams as similar as possible to these in space radiation. We used such an electron beam to study the electron radiation effects on the surface structure and performance of two-dimensional material (FePS3). Energetic electron beam led to bulk sample cleavage and damage between areas of uneven thickness. For the FePS3 sheet sample, electron radiation transformed it from crystalline state to amorphous state, causing the sample surface to rough. The full widths at the half maximum of characteristic Raman peaks became larger, and the intensities of characteristic Raman peaks became weak or even disappeared dramatically under electron radiation. This trend became more obvious for thinner samples, and this phenomenon was attributed to the cleavage of Pâ€"P and Pâ€"S bonds, destabilizing the bipyramid structure of [P2S6]4â€" unit. The results are of great significance for testing the maximum allowable radiation dose for the two-dimensional material, implying that FePS3 cannot withstand such energetic electron radiation without an essential shield. Abstract

Aims Low temperature at the seedling stage is the key factor constraining growth and yield in spring-sowing soybeans (Glycine max) in North China. The objectives of this research were to explore responses of soybean cul- tivars of different eco-types in Shanxi Province to low temperatures at the seedling stage, to develop indices and approaches for comprehensive evaluation of low-temperature tolerance in soybeans, and ultimately to provide theoretical basis for breeding soybean cultivars of low-temperature tolerance in order to maintain stable yield un- der the conditions of low temperature stress at the seedling stage. Methods We selected three soybean cultivars ('Jinda 53', 'Jinda 70' and 'Jindou 24') bred and grown widely in Shanxi Province. At the seedling stage, the plant materials were subjected to stress treatments at three levels of low temperatures and a control treatment in growth cabinets. The low temperature treatments were set for 14, 17 and 20 °C, respectively, and the control treatment was maintained at 23 °C. Upon completion of the temperature treatments, the seedlings were transplanted into larger pots and grown in a greenhouse. Values of photosynthetic traits (including net photosynthetic rates (Pn), intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci), stomatal conductance (Gs) and transpiration rate (Tr)) were determined on seedlings. The yield traits (plant height, plant mass, pods per plant and yield per plant) were assessed after harvesting. Furthermore, the genotype main effect plus genotype-environment interaction (GGE) biplot was employed to analyze the effects of various traits on different cultivars and correla- tions among the traits. Then, subordinate function was applied for comprehensive evaluation of low-temperature tolerance of the three cultivars studied. Important findings (1) The seedling stage of all three cultivars was extended by 1-12 days by the low tempera- ture treatments. (2) Values of the four photosynthetic traits were reduced in seedlings subjected to low temperature treatments; the rate of reduction was significantly greater for Gs and Tr than for the other two traits. Reductions in the values of photosynthetic traits were significantly smaller in the cultivar 'Jinda 53' than in other two cultivars, suggesting the stronger low temperature tolerance of this cultivar in terms of photosynthetic capacity. Addition- ally, 'Jinda 70' maintained higher Pn values than the other two cultivars, which was beneficial to greater dry mat- ter accumulation in this cultivar. 32. The importance of Righi–Leduc heat flux to the ablative Rayleigh–Taylor instability during a laser irradiating targets

Abstract

AbstractThe Righi–Leduc heat flux generated by the self-generated magnetic field in the ablative Rayleigh–Taylor instability driven by a laser irradiating thin targets is studied through two-dimensional extended-magnetohydrodynamic simulations. The perturbation structure gets into a low magnetization state though the peak strength of the self-generated magnetic field could reach hundreds of teslas. The Righi–Leduc effect plays an essential impact both in the linear and nonlinear stages, and it deflects the total heat flux towards the spike base. Compared to the case without the self-generated magnetic field included, less heat flux is concentrated at the spike tip, finally mitigating the ablative stabilization and leading to an increase in the velocity of the spike tip. It is shown that the linear growth rate is increased by about 10% and the amplitude during the nonlinear stage is increased by even more than 10% due to the feedback of the magnetic field, respectively. Our results reveal the importance of Righi–Leduc heat flux to the growth of the instability and promote deep understanding of the instability evolution together with the self-generated magnetic field, especially during the acceleration stage in inertial confinement fusion.

Abstract

We propose a slanting collision scheme for Compton scattering of a laser light against a relativistic electron beam. This scheme is suitable to generate an energy-tunable X/gamma-ray source. In this paper, we present theoretical study and simulation of the spectral, spatial and temporal characteristics of such a source. We also describe two terms laser-Compton scattering (LCS) experiments at the 100 MeV Linac of Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, where quasi-monochromatic LCS X-ray energy spectra with peak energies of similar to 30 keV are observed successfully. These preliminary investigations are carried out to understand the feasibility of developing an energy-tunable quasi-monochromatic X/-gamma-ray source, the future Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source.

Abstract

Numerical simulations are conducted on the scheme of energetic proton-bunch driven plasma wakefield acceleration and the possibility of the selfinjection scenario in proton-bunch driven plasma wakefield acceleration by using a density transition of plasma with the help of 2D3V PIC code. The simulations show that enhanced selfinjection of electrons in the scenario is realized successfully. It is found that the number of trapped particles increases as the amplitude of density transition increases．

Abstract

Single attosecond pulses can be generated when an intense laser pulse focused in a volume of a few cubic wavelengths (λ3) is reflected from a solid plasma surface. With relativistic two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations, we investigate the effects of the incident laser intensity and the target surface profiles on attosecond pulse generation. Usually the width of the reflected attosecond pulse decreases and its electromagnetic energy density increases with increasing laser intensity, while the energy conversion efficiency to the attoseond pulse decreases. By changing the target surface profile, such as using a convex surface or adding proper preplasma, one can further shorten the attosecond pulse duration and meanwhile increase its energy density.

Abstract

The transport of a relativistic electron beam in dense plasmas with a cold return electron current is examined by two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulation. The filamentation and coalescence of currents and related magnetic field patterns, caused by the electromagnetic-beam-plasma instability, are observed. In the later simulation time, the electrons of the relativistic electron beam are trapped into the potential wells of the wave excited by the instability, and transport resonantly with the wave.
