The main objective of this research is to create and improve three different object identification techniques for identifying surface flaws and categorising dimensions in steel that has been fabricated. RetinaNet, YOLOv3, and Faster R-CNN are the selected modalities in the experiment. The main goal is to evaluate these modalities' ability to detect and classify defects on steel surfaces in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. This assessment makes use of a varied collection of steel surface photos that show different kinds and sizes of faults. Training, validation, and testing sets make up the dataset's partitioning. The training set is used to train and optimise the three modalities, while the testing and validation sets are used to evaluate their performance. According to the study's findings, all three methods provide excellent of 0.92. RetinaNet comes in second with an F1 score of 0.89, followed by YOLOv3 with an F1 score of 0.87, while the Faster R-CNN modality obtains the greatest overall performance with an F1 score. Anomalies in mood, thinking, work, bodily functions, emotions, social interactions, and general behavior are frequently related to mental disorders. A strong correlation has been found between affective disorders, mental illnesses, and physiological reactions from the brain, muscles, heart, eyes, and skin. Understanding multidisciplinary open research challenges, including the combination of behavioral sciences, computer science, machine learning, psychology, and sociology, could potentially reveal new interdisciplinary research domains. In the purview of previously stated arguments, this study intends to investigate the physiological and behavioral signals could be used for machine learning-based detection of mental disorders. Subsequently, identification of machine learning algorithms to exploit these modalities for detecting mental disorders were studied. This study presents a systematic literature review to promulgate state-of-the-art computational methods and technologies facilitating the automated detection of affective disorders. The relevant literature between 2010 and 2022 has been studied for this survey. Recommendations of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) model were adopted for the identification, screening, validating, and inclusion of research literature. The study concluded the fact that self-diagnosis tools for detecting mental disorders, like questionnaires and rating scales, produce inconsistent results. Further, there are no standard baselines for mental disorders. This situation mandates a multi-faceted approach that may utilize physiological signals, behavioral patterns, and even data obtained from various online portals like social media to efficiently and effectively detect mental disorders' prevalence, type, and severity. The article presents the study results of resiliency modalities and the content of psychoeducational measures for higher education seekers in war conditions. The purpose of the study was to increase the effectiveness and to balance resiliency modalities use by higher education seekers in war conditions while using psycho-educational measures. 174 seekers of higher education were examined, including 144 students of the 4th-6th year of the medical faculty and the faculty of medicine and pharmacy of the Dnipro State Medical University, specializing in 222 «Medicine» (main group) and 30 students of the 4th-5th year of the metallurgical and electro-metallurgical faculties of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology (comparison group). A psy­chodiagnostic method using the resource-oriented model of stress resiliency "BASIC Ph" was employed. The first stage involved a statistical analysis of resiliency modalities and their average scores in both groups. In all participants of the main group, it was found that the highest average score was registered in the resiliency modality “Cognitive strategy”. The lowest score was observed for the “Social support” modality. In all participants of the comparison group, it was found that the “Cognitive strategy” modality, as in the main group, had a clear advantage over other modalities, and the lowest score was already observed for the “Emotions” modality. These results formed the basis for creating psychoeducational measures for stress resiliency among higher education seekers in wartime. Psychoeducation for higher education seekers was conducted from September to November 2023, including lectures and individual conversations upon request. The «BASIC Ph» model of stress resiliency was utilized as a framework for determining optimal human resource utilization during crises, with six modalities forming individual style of resiliency. It is crucial to identify dominant modalities and develop those that are less effective. The identified stress resiliency modalities provided a conceptual basis for developing of psychoeducational measures to enhance their effective and balanced use in war situations among higher education seekers. During psychoeducational work with higher education seekers, their resiliency models were analyzed, interpreted, and balanced. Study results should be taken into account in psychological support efforts for higher education seekers in war and post-war time.

Alzheimer's disease is a degenerative brain condition that causes progressive decline in several aspects. Starting from memory, cognitive or thinking abilities, speaking abilities, and behavior. Currently, Alzheimer's diagnosis uses some methods, such as blood tests, scanning with computerized tomography scan (CT scan), or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). As a reference for determining the level of severity, doctors usually use clinical dementia rating (CDR). CDR is a numerical scale used to measure the severity of dementia symptoms. The doctor will manually compare the patient's condition with those stated on the CDR. This condition will take quite a long time, and sometimes human error will occur. As technology and science develop, doctors can assist in manually detecting Alzheimer's using classification algorithms. Many methods can be used to classify, including the CDR support vector machine (SVM) method. Unfortunately, this method is usually only used to classify two classes. This technology allows the classification process to be carried out automatically and quickly. On the other hand, when using CDR to classify Alzheimer's severity, there are several scales, not just two classes. So, in this research, we modified the use of SVM to classify three levels of severity, namely scale 0 for normal, scale 1 for mild conditions, and scale 2 for moderate conditions. This study investigates the transformative impact of digital service offers on consumer practices, utilizing the Theory of Social Practice (TSP) as a theoretical framework. Focusing on the use of public transportation and short-term car rental (“carsharing”) services, it explores how digital innovations reshape consumer behaviors and interactions. Through an empirical analysis of commuter practices, the research identifies how consumers use digital service offers from providers to create and adapt new practices. Key findings include the emergence of distinctive commuting behaviors, such as the use of fully electric rental cars in bus lanes during rush hours, contrasted with the use of non-electric rental cars in regular traffic lanes during off-peak times. These observations underscore a dynamic shift from established consumer practices, revealing a process where consumers actively innovate and redefine their daily routines in response to digital service offerings. The study not only highlights the fluidity of consumer practices but also suggests a research strategy focused on understanding these emerging patterns rather than on studying predefined practice modalities.

A survey of psychotherapists in Germany, Switzer- land and Austria was conducted to investigate whether the integration of methods discussed in psychotherapy science is reflected in psychotherapeutic practice. To this end, psycho- therapists (N=150) from the countries were asked to indicate the importance of healing factors, modalities and relationship modalities, media and structural levels (according to Orth & Petzold 2015) for their practical work on a 5-point scale. The procedure- and country-specific analysis of the data shows that different assessments arise less in the classic healing factors than in (relationship) modalities, media and structural levels. Psycho- therapists with Integrative Psychotherapy as a second method and psychotherapists from Switzerland, where this method is more widespread, rate the practical significance higher. Background: Single parenthood is becoming increasingly common in today's society for various reasons such as divorce, the death of a spouse, or the choice of parenthood. Regrettably, there seems to be no significant concern among world leaders regarding depression arising from single parenting. Aim: This article aimed to explore the prevalence of depression in single parents, the factors contributing to it, and its effects on their physical and emotional well‐being. Additionally, it aims to investigate the long‐lasting effects of depression in single parents, effective therapeutic approaches to tackle these issues and offer proactive suggestions for relevant global stakeholders. Methodology: A selection of studies was identified through electronic databases such as PubMed, Embase, and PsycINFO databases. The search strategy encompassed terms related to single parenthood, depression, mental health, prevalence, risk factors, and treatment modalities. Included studies comprised of peer‐reviewed research articles, systematic reviews, meta‐analyses, and observational studies published in English. Result: Today, there is a growing prevalence of single parenthood due to a range of factors, including divorce, the loss of a partner, and intentional decisions regarding single parenthood. However, this transition comes with challenges, including the risk of developing depression. Depression is a serious mental health condition affecting many individuals worldwide. Raising a child alone increases the likelihood of developing depression for the parent due to the increased burden and responsibilities. Such parents tend to have low self‐esteem, suicide/suicide attempts, and so forth and children born by those parents are vulnerable to depression, physical abuse, infections, etc. Conclusion: Future research should focus on identifying effective interventions for treating depression among single parents and improving the availability of mental health facilities for this vulnerable population, especially in places with a high prevalence of depression. Mental health physicians in collaboration with obstetricians and gynecologists across the globe should offer counseling and mediation services during pre‐conception care visits for both single and partnered parents. This research delves into the educational landscape in Maya City Secondary Schools, focusing on the outcomes of the Grade 12 National Examination through a mixed-method case study approach. It scrutinizes student performance in different modalities and fields of study while pinpointing factors that contribute to low pass rates and high failure rates. The findings underscore that the regular mode boasts the highest number of students who passed the exam in the natural and social sciences. Conversely, neither Night nor Private modalities yield any passing students in the field of natural sciences. Gender-based performance disparities emerge, revealing male students’ consistent outperformance, especially within the private modality. Most alarmingly, the research disclosed that the Maya City Secondary Schools’ low average pass rate of 2.35%, significantly below the national average. The study stresses the urgency of addressing issues that contribute to poor academic performance at the individual, institutional, and systemic levels.

Heart Rate (HR) is widely used for erobic exercise intensity prescriptions and/or studies of exercise training. It is often assumed that exercising at a given HR results in similar physiological response, regardless of exercise modality. This study aimed to gauge cellular immune mobilization to submaximal exercise at a given target HR on a cycle ergometer (CE) and treadmill (TM). Thirteen healthy male adults (23.2 ± 3.5 y.o) completed 4 laboratory visits. Participants performed two graded exercise tests to exhaustion on CE and TM and two 30‐min constant exercise challenges at 70% HR reserve on CE or TM in random order. Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE) was recorded every 5 min, and blood was drawn before and after exercise to measure leukocytes subpopulation levels, lactate, and IL‐6. HR was successfully "clamped" during the exercise in CE and TM (CE 156.7 ± 1.1; TM 159.3 ± 1.6 bpm). Cycling was perceived as more strenuous than running and was accompanied by a greater increase in lactate post‐exercise (p < 0.0001; 6.2 ± 0.3 vs. 2.9 ± 0.3 mmol/L). IL‐6 and leukocytes subpopulations were significantly elevated post‐exercise (p < 0.003) with no difference between exercise modalities (monocytes; CE 57.6% TM 61.2%, granulocytes; CE 41.37%, TM 50.1%, lymphocytes; CE 91.03%, TM 78.8%). The findings revealed that HR is not sufficient in and of itself to fully assess the metabolic stress associated with a given exercise modality. However, despite different metabolic and subjective stress, the IL‐6 and leukocyte counts relative changes were similar in the two modalities. Highlights: These findings provide valuable insights into the leukocytes and lactate responses to cycling and running at the same target heart rate. The study further elaborates on the shared patterns and distinctions in physiological and metabolic responses and their implications for designing targeted training programs.At the same target heart rate, running resulted in significantly lower lactate levels and subjective rate of perceived exertion (RPE) while yielding higher VO2 levels compared to cycling.Leukocytes and IL‐6 increases post‐exercise were not different between running and cycling, indicating that they did not reflect the distinct metabolic and subjective perceived loads associated with cycling and running.Since heart rate in and of itself is not sufficient to fully characterize the metabolic stress induced by a specific exercise modality, it is important to consider the modality of exercise when prescribing training programs for improving cardiovascular fitness or achieving target energy expenditure through heart rate monitoring. This study profiled current clinical applications of blood flow restriction (BFR) training and observed side effects by surveying active sports medicine and performance personnel across North America. An online survey consisting of questions derived from a related position statement was distributed through professional organizations, email listservs, and social media. Personnel with experience applying or prescribing BFR training with permanent residence within the United States or Canada were eligible to participate. Variables captured included demographics (profession, practice setting), BFR equipment, treatment parameters, observed side effects, and personal perceptions regarding BFR training. An alpha level of p, 0.05 determined significance. A convenience sample included 72 clinicians with 67 being from the United States. Athletic trainers (n=35) and physical therapists (n=30) primarily participated. Chi-square test of independence indicated that a higher proportion of physical therapists (90.3%) report receiving formal education in BFR training compared with athletic trainers (65.7%) (...). Parameters varied between respondents for exercise prescription and occlusion settings. Respondents primarily followed position statement recommendations with individualized pressure selections for resistance (80.9%) and aerobic (84.8%) BFR modes. Side effects reported included delayed onset muscle soreness (66.2%), inability to continue because of pain (28%), and numbness (22.5%). Personal perceptions between athletic trainers and physical therapists were compared using independent t-tests. Physical therapists indicated higher confidence in safety (difference = 0.37 ± 0.32, p = 0.026), understanding recommendations (difference = 0.47 ± 0.37, p = 0.011), and theoretical principles (difference 5 0.80 6 0.53, p 5 0.004). Natural modalities are often analysed from an abstract point of view where they are associated with putative laws of nature. However, the way possibilities are represented in physics is more complex. Lagrangian mechanics, for instance, involves two different layers of modalities: kinematical and dynamical possibilities. This paper examines the status of these two layers, both in the classical and quantum case. The quantum case is particularly problematic: we identify four possible interpretive options. It's no truism to admit that many Central African refugee children don't go to school in a world where education, a fundamental right, is the basis of all development. Several hundred of these children are victims of under-schooling and other school wastage. When they are enrolled in Cameroonian schools in general, and in the commune of Mandjou in particular, they leave early, despite the enormous resources mobilized by public authorities and development partners. The truth is that MDG goal number 3, "education for all by 2015", has not been achieved. The aim of this study is to take a systemic and critical approach to assessing the various measures and policies relating to the schooling of refugees in the Mandjou commune, in the East Cameroon region, in a context where inclusive education is intended to give the most vulnerable groups greater opportunities for integration. It concludes with a series of recommendations that could help the government and humanitarian organizations. Under the framework of the cognitive theory of multimedia learning, this study examined how four modalities (iconic gestures, beat gestures, no gesture, audio) and learner modality preferences affect L2 vocabulary learning coupled with their relation to language aptitude. Sixty native or bilingual Japanese speakers watched video clips of sixty Spanish words under the above-mentioned four conditions six times. Their retention rate was measured immediately following the learning phase and after two weeks. The primary findings were (a) modalities had no relationship with the test scores; (b) learners preferred iconic gestures most; (c) modality preferences had a strong relationship to test scores; (d) the scores of their most preferred modality were significantly higher than those of other less-preferred modalities, and (e) the language aptitude score was correlated with modalities but not with modality preferences. This study suggests that learners may learn L2 vocabulary most efficiently when the modality matches their preferences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The focus of this work was on identifying early predictors of three main specific LBLD including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. Methods: The Web of Science (WoS) was searched for literature related to (neurocognitive, neurophysiological, and neuroimaging) measurements used to identify early predictors of LBLD from 1991 to 25 October 2021. A retrospective bibliometric analysis was performed to analyze collaboration among countries, institutions, authors, publishing journals, reference co-citation patterns, keyword co-occurrence, keyword clustering, and burst keywords using Biblioanalytics software. Results: In total, 921 publications related to the identification of LBLD using (neurocognitive, neurophysiological, and neuroimaging) modalities were included. The data analysis shows a slow growth in research on the topic in the 90s and early 2000 and growing trend in recent years. The most prolific and cited journal is Neuroimage, followed by Neuropsychologia. The United States and Finland’s Universities Jyvaskyla and Helsinki are the leading country and institution in this field, respectively. “Neuroimaging,” “brain,” “fMRI,” “cognitive predictor,” “comorbidity,” “cortical thickness” were identified as hotspots and trends of (neurocognitive, neurophysiological, and neuroimaging) modalities in the identification of LBLD. Discussion: Early predictors of LBLDs would be useful as targets for specific prevention and intervention programs to be implemented at very young ages, which could have a significant clinical impact. In the biometric biomedical applications, the study presents a pioneering research endeavor focused on the development of a multimedia identification and analysis algorithm tailored for piano performance music. The core objectives encompass the extraction, recognition, and interpretation of biometric information from piano performances, exploring the intricate patterns, nuances, and individualistic characteristics inherent to musicians. The study focuses on the development of advanced biometric authentication and identification systems capable of capturing and analyzing a user's unique behavioral patterns across diverse modalities. These biometric modalities offer the potential for highly secure and non-intrusive user identification. Hence, this paper developed an architecture of Marker Controlled Point (MCP) Estimation for the computation of the gesture in biometric-based applications. This architecture utilizes markers or reference points to precisely track and analyze user gestures, resulting in accurate and reliable biometric data. The research details the architecture's implementation, integrating advanced deep-learning techniques for feature extraction, pattern recognition, and authentication. This system finds versatile applications in various domains, from healthcare and cybersecurity to finance, where secure and user-friendly authentication is paramount. Experimental results underscore the system's effectiveness and robustness, demonstrating its potential for enhancing biometric authentication. The proposed model represents a significant stride in biometric technology, offering secure, non-intrusive user identification through the synergy of behavior biometrics and emerging modalities. The article presents the results of the study of “The Integrative Model of Resiliency” in higher education seekers in war conditions. 174 higher education seekers were examined, among them: 144 students of the 4th-6th year of the medical faculty and the faculty of medicine and pharmacy of the Dnipro State Medical University, majoring in 222 “Medicine” (main group) and 30 students of the 4th-5th year of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology (comparison group). The aim of the study was to determine the modalities of resiliency in higher education seekers in the war condition. A psychodiagnostic method with the integrative model of resiliency “BASIC Ph” was used in the research. The distribution of modalities, their degree of expression (scoring), gender features of the distribution of modalities and their correlations were studied. In the vast majority of higher education seekers, one modality of resiliency dominated (94% in the main group, 100% in the comparison group), which was cognitive modality (64% in the main group, 67% in the comparison group) as the most mature, adaptive and constructive way of overcoming the crisis, especially during the war. In 6% of the investigated ones in the main group, the dominance of two modalities was found, among which the cognitive strategy was once again the leading one (89%). Some gender features of the use of stress coping strategies were revealed. Thus, a statistically significant difference was observed between the indicators of the modalities “Belief”, “Emotions” and “Social support” among males and females of the main group and “Emotions” and “Imagination” in the comparison group (p

Abstract Background The effectiveness of strength training with free-weight vs. machine equipment is heavily debated. Thus, the purpose of this meta-analysis was to summarize the data on the effect of free-weight versus machine-based strength training on maximal strength, jump height and hypertrophy. Methods The review was conducted in accordance with the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, and the systematic search of literature was conducted up to January 1st, 2023. Studies that directly compared free-weight vs. machine-based strength training for a minimum of 6 weeks in adults (18–60 yrs.) were included. Results Thirteen studies (outcomes: maximal strength [n = 12], jump performance [n = 5], muscle hypertrophy [n = 5]) with a total sample of 1016 participants (789 men, 219 women) were included. Strength in free-weight tests increased significantly more with free-weight training than with machines (SMD: -0.210, CI: -0.391, -0.029, p = 0.023), while strength in machine-based tests tended to increase more with machine training than with free-weights (SMD: 0.291, CI: -0.017, 0.600, p = 0.064). However, no differences were found between modalities in direct comparison (free-weight strength vs. machine strength) for dynamic strength (SMD: 0.084, CI: -0.106, 0.273, p = 0.387), isometric strength (SMD: -0.079, CI: -0.432, 0.273, p = 0.660), countermovement jump (SMD: -0.209, CI: -0.597, 0.179, p = 0.290) and hypertrophy (SMD: -0.055, CI: -0.397, 0.287, p = 0.751). Conclusion No differences were detected in the direct comparison of strength, jump performance and muscle hypertrophy. Current body of evidence indicates that strength changes are specific to the training modality, and the choice between free-weights and machines are down to individual preferences and goals.

The offensive tactics of basketball teams consist of a series of actions performed with the collaboration of two or more players on the court. The study aimed to determine the differences in the possessions and the points of the play-type statistics of the eight playoff teams and the other ten non-playoff teams of the 2020 to 2021 men's Euroleague season. The study sample consists of a total of 13,056 play types obtained through systematic observation methodology, which examined 272 matches involving 17 teams. Descriptive statistics and the Mann–Whitney U test was employed to obtain the findings. It was found that the catch'n & shoot, pick and roll ball handler are the most frequently used possessions and points that produced play-type statistics for all teams. Results showed that isolation (U = 3,7740.5; z = −3.93; p <.05) pick and roll handler's (U = 39,932; z = −2.91; p <.05), post-up (U = 39,878.5; z = −2.94; p <.05) and Screen-off possessions (U = 41,689; z = −2,107; p <.05) of the playoff teams were statistically higher than non-playoff teams. Positively significant differences were also observed in isolation (U = 38,172; z = −3,744; p <.05), pick and roll handler's (U = 40,278.5; z = −2,748; p <.05), post-up (U = 38,353.5; z = −3,659; p <.05), and Screen-off (U = 38,819.5; z = −3,434; p <.05) points of the playoff teams and non-playoff teams. Background: Currently, is there no consensus on a widely accepted measurement technique for calculating the Hill-Sachs lesion (HSL). The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of the techniques and imaging modalities to assess the HSL pre-operatively. Methods: Four online databases (PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, and COCHRANE) were searched for literature on the various modalities and measurement techniques used for quantifying HSLs, from data inception to 20 November 2021. The Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies tool was used to assess study quality. Results: Forty-five studies encompassing 3413 patients were included in this review. MRA and MRI showed the highest sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy values. Intrarater and interrater agreement was shown to be the highest amongst MRA. The most common reference tests for measuring the HSL were arthroscopy, radiography, arthro-CT, and surgical techniques. Conclusion: MRA and MRI are reliable imaging modalities with good test diagnostic properties for assessment of HSLs. There is a wide variety of measurement techniques and imaging modalities for HSL assessment, however a lack of comparative studies exists. Thus, it is not possible to comment on the superiority of one technique over another. Electrophysical agents (EPAs) are core therapeutic interventions in academic physical therapy curricula around the world. They are used concomitantly with several other therapeutic interventions such as exercise, manual therapy techniques, medications, and surgery for the management of a wide variety of soft tissue disorders. Over the past decade, the practice of EPAs has been the subject of intense scrutiny in the U.S. This has been colored by some physical therapists publicly engaging in bashing rhetoric that has yet to be officially and publicly addressed by the guiding organizations which, together, regulate the practice of physical therapy in this country. Published in world renowned public media are unsubstantiated mocking remarks against the practice of EPAs and unethical allegations against its stakeholders. This rhetoric suggests that EPA interventions are "magical" treatments and that those practitioners who include them in their plans of care may be committing fraud. Such bashing rhetoric is in striking contradiction to the APTA's Guide to Physical Therapist Practice 4.0, which lists EPAs as one of its categories of interventions, the CAPTE's program accreditation policy, and the FSBPT's national licensing exam. The purpose of this commentary is to expose the extent of this discourse and to call to action the APTA, CAPTE, and FSBPT organizations, as well as physical therapists, with the aim at putting an end to this rhetoric. This study employs the three modalities of name, adjective, and adverb of implication to interpret the discursive conflict in The Neighbours. This article claims that the ideological nature of the subject of representation and the inevitable transcendence of the associated subject has leveled the plot sequence, which, in turn, has divided the narrative into preheroic, heroic, and reinforced-heroic segments. Although the pre-heroic possesses four discursive conflicts/agreements, modalities tend to represent a sense of intellectual and emotional stagnation which surrounds the subjects, such as Khaled, who is the protagonist and the actor-narrator of the narrative. During the heroic era, a critical conflict between the party subjects and the authority, invokes the implicit author and the three modalities to condemn the authority and glorify the fights of the party subjects. Lastly, the reinforcedheroic regards the hardships that Khaled and his associates endured in prison as their legitimisation and heroism. In this regard, in accordance with all the modalities and both narrational trajectories, the narrative attempts to legitimise the fabricated reality built around the party-belief, so much so that, at times, the text suffers from propagandism. Background: The effectiveness of strength training with free-weight vs. machine equipment is heavily debated. Thus, the purpose of this meta-analysis was to summarize the data on the effect of free-weight versus machine-based strength training on maximal strength, jump height and hypertrophy. Methods: The review was conducted in accordance with the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, and the systematic search of literature was conducted up to January 1st, 2023. Studies that directly compared free-weight vs. machine-based strength training for a minimum of 6 weeks in adults (18–60 yrs.) were included. Results: Thirteen studies (outcomes: maximal strength [n = 12], jump performance [n = 5], muscle hypertrophy [n = 5]) with a total sample of 1016 participants (789 men, 219 women) were included. Strength in free-weight tests increased significantly more with free-weight training than with machines (SMD: -0.210, CI: -0.391, -0.029, p = 0.023), while strength in machine-based tests tended to increase more with machine training than with free-weights (SMD: 0.291, CI: -0.017, 0.600, p = 0.064). However, no differences were found between modalities in direct comparison (free-weight strength vs. machine strength) for dynamic strength (SMD: 0.084, CI: -0.106, 0.273, p = 0.387), isometric strength (SMD: -0.079, CI: -0.432, 0.273, p = 0.660), countermovement jump (SMD: -0.209, CI: -0.597, 0.179, p = 0.290) and hypertrophy (SMD: -0.055, CI: -0.397, 0.287, p = 0.751). Conclusion: No differences were detected in the direct comparison of strength, jump performance and muscle hypertrophy. Current body of evidence indicates that strength changes are specific to the training modality, and the choice between free-weights and machines are down to individual preferences and goals. Key point: If your goal is to maximize strength adaptations, the choice between free-weight and machines should be based on individual preference. Background: Data on impact of financial hardship on coronary artery disease (CAD) remain incomplete. Methods: Consecutive subjects referred for clinical rest/stress cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) were enrolled. Financial hardship is defined as patients' inability to pay for their out-of-pocket expense for cardiac PET. Abnormal cardiac PET is defined as at least moderate relative perfusion defects at stress involving > 10% of the left ventricle or global coronary flow reserve ≤ 2.0. Patients were followed for major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE) comprised of all-cause mortality, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and late coronary revascularization. Results: We analyzed a total of 4173 patients with mean age 65.6 ± 11.3 years, 72.2% men, and 93.6% reported as having medical insurance. Of these, 504 (12.1%) patients had financial hardship. On multivariable analysis, financial hardship associated with abnormal cardiac PET (odds ratio 1.377, p = 0.004) and MACE (hazard ratio 1.432, p = 0.010) and its association with MACE was mostly through direct effect with small proportion mediated by abnormal cardiac PET or known CAD. Conclusion: Among patients referred for cardiac rest/stress PET, financial hardship independently associates with myocardial perfusion abnormalities and MACE; however, its effect on MACE is largely not mediated by abnormal myocardial perfusion or known CAD suggesting distinct impact of financial hardship beyond traditional risk factors and CAD that deserves attention and intervention to effectively reduced adverse outcomes. The article presents the results of the study of “The Integrative Model of Resiliency” in higher education seekers in war conditions. 174 higher education seekers were examined, among them: 144 students of the 4th-6th year of the medical faculty and the faculty of medicine and pharmacy of the Dnipro State Medical University, majoring in 222 “Medicine” (main group) and 30 students of the 4th-5th year of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology (comparison group). The aim of the study was to determine the modalities of resiliency in higher education seekers in the war condition. A psychodiagnostic method with the integrative model of resiliency “BASIC Ph” was used in the research. The distribution of modalities, their degree of expression (scoring), gender features of the distribution of modalities and their correlations were studied. In the vast majority of higher education seekers, one modality of resiliency dominated (94% in the main group, 100% in the comparison group), which was cognitive modality (64% in the main group, 67% in the comparison group) as the most mature, adaptive and constructive way of overcoming the crisis, especially during the war. In 6% of the investigated ones in the main group, the dominance of two modalities was found, among which the cognitive strategy was once again the leading one (89%). Some gender features of the use of stress coping strategies were revealed. Thus, a statistically significant difference was observed between the indicators of the modalities “Belief”, “Emotions” and “Social support” among males and females of the main group and “Emotions” and “Imagination” in the comparison group (p<0.05). Analyzing the gender characteristics of the correlations of resiliency modalities, a more multifaceted model was found in medical students of male gender. The obtained data contribute to a deeper understanding of own personal strengths and the involvement of less developed ones by higher education seekers, aimed at strengthening and enriching their resources to overcome resiliency of war crisis. Thus, the results of the study should be taken into account when developing psychoeducational and psycho corrective measures and conducting psychological support for of higher education seekers in the conditions of war and post-war time. In Africa, traditional leaders and local government authorities have co-existed since the inception of colonial rule. Before this era, traditional leaders in their communities were tasked by tradition to settle disputes, mobilize resources, and maintain law and order, among others. However, colonial rule transformed the powers and functions of traditional leaders and, by extension, the relationship between them and government officials. The researchers examined the partnership modalities between traditional leaders and local government authorities in Ghana through a desk review approach. The paper found that the relationship between the two stakeholders concerning community development has been a mixture of conflict and cordiality. The tempestuous relationship between them has been primarily due to the relegation of traditional leaders to the background in local governance. Two partnership modalities namely the cat and ostrich approaches, have been established to manage the relationship between traditional leaders and local government authorities. While the cat approach fosters the incorporation of traditional leaders in local government through legislation, the ostrich approach acknowledges the relevance of traditional leaders. In the face of the challenges that beset local governance such as inadequate personnel and inability to mobilise resources, the paper recommends the integration of traditional leaders in local governance structures to help mitigate these challenges. Vibroarthrographic signals are noninvasive modality that considers vibrations that are obtained from the human knee joints as a signal and analyzes the stability of the human knee joint. The signal analysis reaches the complete classification phase using the machine learning strategies in which feature engineering plays a vital role. The clinical cloud is used by the medical organizations to maintain the patient's record, and the sample data are transferred to the specific diagnosis device where there is a need for cloud security measures. In this article, VAG signals are transferred from the model clinical cloud using security measures and analyzed by considering the number of feature selection and feature extraction strategies which are further justified by the classification results obtained through the machine learning algorithms. This security-enhanced research paves way for the clinicians and researchers to choose the appropriate security measures, feature analysis, and classifiers to obtain better results. Breast cancer is one of the most affecting carcinoma for women from long time. Early detection is necessary to increase the lifespan of patients. In this study deep learning and machine learning approaches are applied to histopathological, mammogram and ultrasound breast cancer modalities. In-order to increase the efficacy of diagnosis of these modalities. Study has been carried out in majorly four phases. First phase involved collection of the datasets of all the three modalities mentioned earlier. Second phase consists of extracting relevant features using ResNet-18. Third phase involves feeding the extracted information to enhanced firefly or to the existing optimization techniques. Fourth phase consists of considering selected features as input to the classifiers. Then enhanced firefly based classifier compared with the existing ant colony and genetic algorithm based classifier. Introduction: Aim Myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) is a key tool for the identification and risk stratification of patients with coronary artery disease. The use of a coronary calcium score further adds to prognostic data above MPI alone. In this study, our aim was to evaluate the extent to which the use of a coronary artery calcium (CAC) score, when co-reported with MPI, impacts changes in clinical management in patients without a history of coronary artery disease (CAD) undergoing functional imaging. Methods: This is a multicenter international study which incorporated a standardized questionnaire to evaluate changes in clinician management after MPI results were given with and without the additional information of a CAC score. Calcium scoring on a SPECT-CT system was performed via a semiquantitative Shemesh score (0-12) with a 0-3 score from the left main, left anterior descending, left circumflex, and right coronary arteries. CT of the chest was read independently, and non-coronary findings were reported alongside the CAC score. Results: A total of 281 patients were enrolled across 3 international centers (Brazil, Australia, New Zealand). Of the 281 patients, 133 (47%) had management altered after the clinician was made aware of the CAC score. The impact of the CAC in changing clinical management was significant, particularly in patients with a negative MPI (P < 0.0001), but also in MPI-positive patients (P = 0.0021). The most common management change was the addition or intensification of statin therapy. Conclusion: The addition of the CAC component to MPI yielded significant management changes in nearly half of all patients undergoing MPI for suspected CAD. Purpose: How coronary arterial 18F-sodium fluoride (18F-NaF) uptake on positron emission tomography changes over the long term and what clinical factors impact the changes remain unclear. We sought to investigate the topics in this study. Methods: We retrospectively studied 15 patients with ≥1 coronary atherosclerotic lesion/s detected on cardiac computed tomography who underwent baseline and follow-up (interval of >3 years) 18F-NaF positron emission tomography/computed tomography scans. Focal 18F-NaF uptake in each lesion was quantified using maximum tissue-to-background ratio (TBRmax). The temporal change in TBRmax was assessed using a ratio of follow-up to baseline TBRmax (R-TBRmax). Results: A total of 51 lesions were analyzed. Mean R-TBRmax was 0.96 ± 0.21. CT-based lesion features (location, obstructive stenosis, plaque types, features of high-risk plaque) did not correlate with an increase in R-TBRmax. In multivariate analysis, baseline TBRmax significantly correlated with higher follow-up TBRmax (β = 0.57, P < 0.0001), and the presence of diabetes mellitus significantly correlated with both higher follow-up TBRmax (β = 0.34, P = 0.001) and elevated R-TBRmax (β = 0.40, P = 0.003). Conclusion: Higher coronary arterial 18F-NaF uptake is likely to remain continuously high. Diabetes mellitus affects the long-term increase in coronary arterial 18F-NaF uptake. Given the vast scholarly attention paid to multilingualism on traditional media over the years, it seems timely to focus on streaming platforms. This paper sets out to identify potential norms for the rendering of multilingual occurrences in the localised content of Netflix series. It also seeks to explore whether streaming translation practices related to multilingualism differ from the consolidated norms and practices for TV and cinema content. The chosen data sample consists of the Italian dub streams of five TV Netflix-produced shows featuring multilingualism as a main characteristic. The strategies and techniques adopted in each series are singled out, quantified, and labelled according to a combination of taxonomies. These include dubbing, revoicing, subtitling, part-subtitling, diegetic interpreting, unchanged speech transfer, and no translation. A wider analysis is also carried out across all the data sample to draw patterns on a macro level. The findings reveal a strong tendency to mark and preserve multilingualism, in line with Netflix's own policies and dubbing specifications. Transfer unchanged combined with subtitles emerges as the most recurrent strategy, while the dub-over strategy accounts for 13% of the multilingual occurrences in the data sample. Extensive neutralisation is therefore not encountered. That said, a certain degree of overlap between multilingual translation norms on Netflix and conventional Italian dubbing practices (which tend to neutralise) can still be observed. Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders worldwide with far-reaching implications for social, economic, and public health. The study aimed to compare the effect of combined physiotherapy treatment in patients with CLBP. This observational retrospective randomized controlled study involved reviewing medical records of patients who were treated during a period of 6 weeks in the physiotherapy department of the Special Hospital for General Rehabilitation “Banja e Kllokotit,” Kllokot, Republic of Kosovo. The observational research was conducted for 60 patients, divided into two groups: Group 1: experimental group (n=30), with mean age of 41.7 years, average height of 1.68 cm, and average body mass index (BMI) of 71.7 for both sexes; Group 2: control group (n=30) with mean age of 43.1 years, average height of 1.66 cm, and average body mass index (BMI) of 71.5 for both sexes. In Group 1, combined treatment with passive therapy [thermotherapy and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)], physical exercises, lumbar traction, and walking program was applied, while in Group 2, passive therapy like thermotherapy and TENS was applied. Outcome measurements included pain intensity, lumbar flexibility, revised Oswestry disability index (ODI), and self-confidence, which were assessed pre-treatment, at 3 weeks, and after 6 weeks of clinical treatment. The results showed significant improvement in both groups. However, the improvement was greater and with a significant difference only after 6 weeks in Group 1 compared to Group 2. The differences were observed in various outcome measures, including the visual analog scale for pain (VAS; p<0.0001), fingertip-to-floor distance (FTF; p<0.0001), ODI (p<0.0001), and Rosenberg self-esteem scale (RSE; p=0.0002). According to our data, combined treatment with thermotherapy, therapeutic exercises, lumbar traction, TENS, and walking program was more effective and can be considered as a treatment protocol for patients with CLBP. Several recent accounts of modeling have focused on the modal dimension of scientific inquiry. More precisely, it has been suggested that there are specific models and modeling practices that are best understood as being geared towards possibilities, a view recently dubbed modal modeling. But modalities encompass much more than mere possibility claims. Besides possibilities, modal modeling can also be used to investigate contingencies, necessities or impossibilities. Although these modal concepts are logically connected to the notion of possibility, not all models are equal in their affordances for these richer modal inferences. This paper investigates the modal extent of selected models and argues that analyzing singular model-target pairings by themselves is typically not enough to explain their modal aptness or to identify the kinds of modalities they can be used to reason about. Furthermore, it is argued that some important concepts that are not explicitly modal - like biological robustness - can be understood modally through their relational nature to a background space of possibilities. In conclusion, it is suggested that the strategy of modal modeling is contrastive, situating particular possibilities in larger modal spaces and studying the structural relations within them.
