University dropout has become a worrying reality for the education system in general, but also for Romania in particular, which ranks first in Europe. Thus, the worrying phenomenon of early university leaving is a phenomenon that has complex causes and therefore requires a variety of ways to combat it. These include the development of a supportive extra-curricular environment and individualized teaching practices focused on student-centered learning to support their potential. The aim of the research undertaken in this paper is to demonstrate the contribution of learning support activities in a formal and non-formal environment to the progress of first year of "Iasi University of Life Sciences" (IULS) students in the Faculties of Agriculture and Horticulture in reducing dropout. The qualitative research methodology was carried out through a review of the literature on university dropout, predominantly early. The case study, as a quantitative research method, is composed of a questionnaire containing 13 questions applied to first year students at IULS Iasi. The resulting data were processed and analyzed by statistical methods, and after interpreting the results we formed an overview of the problem of the causes of early university dropout of first year students and thus could apply personalized support measures. As a result of the steps taken in this respect, adaptability to the university environment increased and early university leaving was reduced, which provided us with a working model. This work has an innovative character in terms of the educational support measures provided to first year students at IULS Iasi, which constitute a model of good practice for increasing the adaptability of first year students to the university environment and for reducing early dropout. These extracurricular activities, carried out in a formal and especially non-formal friendly environment in a modern way, must be continued and adapted to the students' needs, but taking into account the skills they need to acquire in order to finally integrate into the changing labour market. The purpose of the research is to determine the specific capital costs of carrying out agricultural work with the farmers'own agricultural machines compared to the costs of agricultural services. A stratified sample based on economic size was used, consisting of 60 farms specialised in large crops from the NE and SE development regions of Romania. The novelty elements of this research consist in the fact that the analysis of the efficiency of the use of agricultural machinery uses a shadow cost--the opportunity cost--to determine the specific income of the use of agricultural machinery. The results show that small farms spend more than twice as much to carry out agricultural work with their own agricultural machinery. The average expenses per ha specific to the agricultural works carried out by farmers with their own agricultural machines recorded an average of 376.3 euro/ha for farms with a size smaller than 100 thousand SO and 186.5 euro/ha for farms with a size greater than 700 thousand SO. For a representativeness level of 69.3%, farms with a size smaller than approx. 578 thousand SO register losses if they carry out agricultural work with their own agricultural machines. This threshold can be appreciated on an area of approx. 854 ha cultivated with grain corn, common wheat, and rapeseed in equal proportions. The role of university education in providing access to the labour market (employment) is reflected in increased employment opportunities for the educated population. The relationship between the unemployment rate and educational attainment is evident: the unemployment rate decreases as one moves from lower to higher levels of education. It can be seen that the unemployment rate, in terms of its size and dynamics, is inversely proportional to the level of education: it falls as the level of education rises, and vice versa. The aim of the research in this paper is to respond to the need to teach students with practical solutions for getting the skills needed to be easily employable in the labour market after graduation. The paper used a quantitative (questionnaire) and a qualitative (bibliometric) analysis. The data studied through the research shows the need for final-year students to receive additional practical skills training for employability. Entrepreneurship education, in addition to the university curriculum, can provide them with a viable alternative to increase their chances of integrating into the 21st century labour market. The innovative character of the work derives from the concrete practical activities that supported the optional entrepreneurial training of IULS students from Iasi. We can affirm, following the study undertaken, that the development of such additional and adapted educational activities increases young graduates' practical skills needed on the labour market. The access to non-reimbursable European funds, which offer additional educational opportunities to students, must be continued in order to produce the major economic effects expected by the whole Romanian society, with the aim of reducing youth unemployment. Idiomatic expressions are a fascinating subject for study, and it is impossible to learn or teach a language without talking about it. In this paper, the authors discuss certain syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic aspects of the idiomatic expressions on cats. The complex social and cultural meaning requires not only an understanding of their grammatical and syntactic structures but also a shared knowledge of the language and the culture it transmits, which creates a certain complicity and synergy between speakers. Furthermore, the correct interpretation of idiomatic expressions is often a source of difficulty for learners of a foreign language, even if they know the meaning of the lexicon (Gross G., 1996). Understanding these expressions in the age of globalization is essential for intercultural communication and comprehension. The French and German languages are full of expressions and proverbs referring to cats, the meaning and origin of which can sometimes seem obscure. Our paper aims to analyze several German and French idiomatic expressions and their equivalent in Romanian by highlighting the similarities and differences between these languages. The examples with which we want to illustrate this analysis are part of the animal kingdom, a generous reservoir of images that illustrates certain symmetry between the phraseologisms of Romanian, French, and German, although this fact is not a mandatory aspect. The semantic equivalents in Romanian of German and French idiomatic expressions containing words from the animal kingdom highlight the material and spiritual richness of the two civilizations because the animal world has always held a special attraction in the collective imagination of humans. Advertising is as creative a story as an infinitely varied one. Also, a highly manipulative one. In a world where everything is for sale and the competition is fierce, what can dairy producers do to stand out on the market? How to persuade the customers using multiple aspects--look, discourse, intonation, colour, energy, and music--except the one that is most important in such industries--taste? In this paper, we examine TV commercials for yoghurt presented in the United Kingdom and Romania in recent years and find out the common traits and aspects that set them apart. We focus on grammatical and stylistic traits. A thorough analysis is made of the function of the sentences, the tenses used, the polarity, and several syntactical strategies such as simple sentences, minor sentences, ellipsis, parallelism, and anaphora. This paper follows the advertising tendencies on the wine market in Romania and Moldavia. Thus, we focused on a comparative study of a corpus of approximately twenty slogans, half Romanian, half Moldavian, both stylistically and syntactically. After a thorough examination, we could identify the common traits used in drawing the target group of consumers, such as the presentation of century-old tradition of wine making, the prestige of the wine gained through awards or the inherent connection between wine and leisure time. There were especially pointed out the features that make some slogans unique and which define the two nations, such the signs that show the rank, status and lifestyle of the subjects. After a thorough examination, we could identify the common traits used in drawing the target group of consumers, such as the presentation of century-old tradition of brewing to offer prestige or the inherent connection between beer and spending leisure time with friends. There were especially pointed out the features that make some slogans unique and which define the two nations. The slogans revealed collective character traits, such as the weaknesses of the Italians towards women and the Romanians' attachment to nature. According to the "Strategy of Education and Professional Training 2020" (EFP), "education and professional training of young people and adults" aims to create skills that will be necessary for their training and personal development to: "achieve their goals in life, social integration, employment and participation in the operation and development of a sustainable economy; forming a concept of life, based on scientific and humanistic values; growing sensitivity to human problems". Thus, it is important for the new educational approaches to be resized by adapting the tasks of teachers who have to become good educational managers, to develop educational operational projects, appropriate for the ethos of the school unit and to the expectations of contemporary society and that should be carried out in educational partnership. It has become a key element of modern didactics, and beyond the concept, it has became an attitude applied within UASVM Iasi. The educational partnership developed for the initial training of agronomy students for the teaching profession (teaching practice) between university and high schools from Iasi, requires that several pedagogical requirements to be fulfilled regarding design, decision, action and collaboration between institutions and educators (pupils, students, teachers and even parents) in order to get attractiveness to the educational process. This educational partnership involves: acceptance of differences and tolerance of different options; equalization of opportunities for participation in a common educational activity; interactions accepted by all partners; effective communication between participants; collaboration (joint action that each has its role, cooperation (joint action where inter-relations and common roles take place). The activities undertaken through educational arrangements in partnership projects have enabled pupils / students / teachers to interact differently from the framework of the classroom, to enjoy, to acquire knowledge, to be creative, to highlight their talent and to make it known to others. Their implementation has led to: designing educational extracurricular activities as embodiment of accumulated knowledge and skills and competencies formed within the studies objects; stimulating the interest of pupils / students and teachers to get involved in projects and educational curricular and extracurricular programmes; raising the quality of human resource in the educational system of agricultural specialty; ensuring the sustainability of educational projects by increasing the awareness about the potential educational partners that specialized agronomic education programmes have on the formation of the younger generation who are being integrated; transforming education in developing source attractive for educated young people. The main aim of this study was to compare the milk performance realized by cattle of Braunvieh breed imported from Austria and the indigenous breed Bruna of Maramures. The analysis was performed into a farm at the first and second lactations. The imported dairy cattle (Braunvieh breed) were compared with contemporaries indigenous breed (Bruna of Maramures) calved in the same period. Both breeds were kept in the same conditions and with the same feeding. The first lactation records were analyzed according to the following linear model: Yij =μ + Hi + Cj + eij. The second lactation records were analyzed according to the following linear model: Yijk =μ + Hi + Cj + Jk + eijk. The difference in milk production between Braunvieh and Bruna of Maramures breeds, at first and second lactations, were not statistically significant. The Braunvieh breed cattle achieved higher fat, protein and lactose percentage at the first lactation (4.25% and 3.94%, 3.42% and 3.20%, respectively 4.67% and 4.49%) and at the second lactation (4.29% and 4.02%, 3.42% and 3.21%, respectively 4.59% and 4.43%). The main objective of dairy cattle's exploitation is the one to find an efficient economical path for increasing of milk production and quality. The results presented in the current study were obtained after an ample research which aimed to complete the information regarding quality of milk gathered from Brown breed cattle exploited in the N-E area of Romania. To achieve the proposed targets, research was carried out in according with an experimental design based on considerations regarding milk production and determination of milk quality by specific physical-chemical analysis during four seasons, aiming the following parameters: fat, protein, casein and lactose. For fat percentage, the lowest mean value was 3.24% (recorded in spring season) and the highest one 3.98%, (recorded in winter season). There are very significant differences (p<0.001) for fat percentage between seasons: autumn-winter; summer-winter; autumn-spring; summer-spring and insignificant differences (p>0.05) for seasons: spring-winter; autumn-summer. For protein percentage were calculated mean values between 3.46% and 3.61%, during spring months, respectively autumn months. The mean values calculated in the current study are in according with the limits from literature. The study was carried out on 120 cattle of Romanian Black Spotted breed, raised in semisubsistence farms in Botosani county, and the main indices of production and breeding were analyzed. For a significant number of university freshmen the choice of improving their level of English is a priority determined by its worldwide access. This allows them to obtain information from foreign scientific literature and to find a job in foreign farms in the country and abroad. Given the fact that levels of acquisition of this language is different for the 1st year students, the study aims to identify the knowledge of this language, the causes that led to the differentiation of pre-university education and the motivations that led them to choose the study of English of all the other four foreign languages (French, German, Spanish and Italian). The study was conducted in groups of university freshmen in the horticulture and landscape design specializations. Using the questionnaire method and direct investigations the results revealed that more than half of the students were assigned in groups of pre-intermediate and intermediate, 30% upper-intermediate and advanced, and almost 10% in beginner (basic English). The knowledge of English of a high school graduate who came to the agronomy university was determined by a combination of factors: the number of years of English study during pre-university education; the number of weekly hours of English language; interest to complete their vocabulary from extracurricular sources; motivation offered by the presence of English within the baccalaureate examination. Given the above situation, the teachers of English from agronomic higher education should establish appropriate strategies and find the most suited methods designed to ensure the best acquisition of specialized vocabulary in English by the end of their studies. The efficient process of activities in farms requires that providing production resources, and combining their allocation should be made in order to lead to: full valorization of production capacity of the farm, to obtain greater quantities of product per hectare and animal feed with as reduced costs as possible per unit of product, continuous growth of return on resources used by the application of modern technologies, improved technical resources and the non-pollution of the environment through waste. Obtaining agricultural products can occur through very different combinations of factors specific to the conditions and possibilities of the farm. The factors of production in their various combinations, give different results, both in physical terms of production and cost and benefit. In Romania and the EU, there are numerous and diversified farms, thus being a complex reality. In order to facilitate the unitary analysis of characteristics related to size (economic size) and economic results, it is necessary to use appropriate terms. The breakeven is the critical point under which the degree of use of production capacity should not fall because the farm would come at a loss and could not recover, as, indeed, working capital, and would not able to pay salaries. This point is of great importance especially for large farms where the determination of the size of a minimum profit necessary and sufficient is vital for the functioning of the society. Breakeven analysis is necessary: in the current activity as a way to foresee the profile when modifying the activity level, and production, in studying the consequences of increasing the sales or turnover (CA) and in the study of modernization programs and upgrading of production. Production level in the culture of wheat, 3015 kg / ha marks the critical or breakeven point, where the amount of income obtained by selling the quantity of products at a price of 1.2 lei / kg, provides full coverage of the cost of production and at the culture of barley, production of 3397 kg / ha marks the critical or break-even point, where the amount of income obtained by selling the quantity of products at a price of 1.0 lei / kg, provides full coverage of the cost of production. The main advantages offered by cost-effectiveness analysis method based on critical point are: to establish the size at which production becomes profitable, indicates production volume needed to achieve a profit, reveal correlations between the dynamics of production, income and dynamics that costs grouped by variable and fixed costs, allows determining the use of production capacity in conjunction with a desired profit. Oituz hydrographical basin belongs to the Eastern Carpathians in the eastern part of them. Its geographical area has a rich natural and human tourism potential, poorly capitalized due to its inadequate assessment, lack of promotion and limited financial resources. The tourism resources are numerous, both natural and anthropic ones. Of the natural resources there were mention the variety of the relief, predominantly mountainous, the quality of the environment, not existing polluting factors, rich flora and fauna, the existence of numerous mineral springs etc. The particularly rich human resources refer to ancient artifacts (a Neolithic settlement a Dacian Dava), a feudal fortress, monuments in memory of the heroes of 1916-1918, places of worship, an ethnographic museum, many elements of ethnography and folklore. For the assessment of the tourism potential there is used the scoring method taking into account four criteria of evaluation that have in view the natural potential, the human potential, specific tourism infrastructure, technical infrastructure. A scale of closed score 0-100 points was used each criterion receiving, in order of importance, a number of points. For the natural potential, it was took into consideration that there is a mountainous and sub-mountainous relief, the climate is moderate, rich in aerosols, the hydrographic network Oituz river includes many streams, there are over 30 mineral springs, the flora and fauna are rich. This criterion received 22 points. The anthropic potential had as strengths the numerous ancient and medieval artifacts, a group of churches with a specific architecture, ethnographic items, etc. The scoring was 22 points. The other two criteria received 12 and 22 points, the significant elements being the presence of the national road DN-11, the five existing boarding houses, a tourist inn and good technical equipment (electricity, mobile coverage, TV). In a changing world, the needs of those who learn English also evolve. In the last decades, the English courses for specific groups of learners have become highly important. English for special purposes found its way after the II World War. As for Romania, even if there was a certain interest in this field, it was taken to the next level only after 1990, when there appeared the economic and technological background for the development of this type of English. The scientific paper presents methods used for teaching the technical vocabulary to the first year students of the faculty of agriculture, the specialization of Technology of Processing Agricultural Products. The technical texts that are studied during the first year are those related to different types of cereals, such as wheat, maize, oats, barley, rice and millet. There is also a unit that deals with the history of food processing and types of preserving foodstuffs. The vocabulary awareness has in view various types of exercises, such as: true or false exercises and answering questions synonyms and antonyms, matching words, word-building types of exercises, find the mistakes in a given text, translation of technical texts both from Romanian into English and from English into Romanian. Typical mistakes have been found and we propose ways of correcting them. We noticed that during the students' performance the most frequent mistakes were those related to pronunciation. Researches were done in a population of 300 cows Black and White breed grow into the private exploitation in the North East part of Romania. There were analyzed the following characters: the age of the first calving(V.P.); the calving-interval (C.I.); the inter-lactation period (R.M.); serviceperiod (S.P.). The mean values of breeding indices (VP, RM, CI and SP) highlight an inappropriate state of reproductive activity, with large differences from one holding to another and even within the same holding. The article presents the Romanian Evaluation Informal Network, an open network of professionals from both the public and private sectors evaluating the policies, programs and projects in Romania.
