Crown gall is one widespread grapevine disease worldwide, caused by Allorhizobium vitis (syn. Agrobacterium vitis) and Agrobacterium tumefaciens (syn. Rhizobium radiobacter). All. Vitis, is the predominant species and primary cause of the disease. This study aimed to identify and characterize molecularly the agrobacteria in plants with crown gall symptoms in Mendoza vineyards. Diseased plants with trunk-based galls were sampled from different areas of Mendoza. Two multiplex PCRs were performed for bacterial identification and characterization, demonstrating that 91.6% of the strains obtained were agrobacteria (77% A. tumefaciens and 23% All. vitis). Fifty percent of All. vitis and 16% of A. tumefaciens identified strains were pathogenic. Pathogenicity tests were also conducted on Kalanchoe daigremontiana, with resulting tumorigenic symptoms. The caviomorph rodent Abrocoma uspallata Braun, J.K. and Mares, M.A. (2002). Systematics of the Abrocoma cinerea species complex (Rodentia: Abrocomidae), with a description of a new species of Abrocoma. J. Mammal. 83: 1–19, doi: 10.1093/jmammal/83.1.1, stands as the most recently described species within its genus and remains one of the least studied. Known from two localities in northwestern Mendoza Province, Argentina, this elusive rodent has been the subject of four field studies conducted during 2022. The obtained evidence, including craniodental remains and fecal samples, suggest a moderate abundance of the species and a broader geographical range spanning at least 1,050 km2. Abrocoma uspallata has scattered occurrences at mid-elevations, typically around 2,000 m, across the Sierra de Uspallata and adjacent hilly systems. These findings point the species as a pre-Andean Abrocoma Waterhouse, 1837, together with Abrocoma schistacea Thomas, O. (1921). On mammals from the Province of San Juan, Western Argentina. Ann. Mag. This work aims to provide a non-moralistic exploration and understanding of the high prevalence of adolescent pregnancy and resulting motherhood among low-income adolescent women in Greater Mendoza, Argentina. The study acknowledges that, based on official statistics, adolescent pregnancy remains a significant issue within this social group compared to teenagers from other socioeconomic backgrounds. By delving into the sexual and reproductive practices of these adolescents, the research seeks to uncover their life strategies within the context of their challenging living conditions, characterized by limited job opportunities and an inadequate, reactive educational system. Through in-depth interviews and focus groups, the study captures the lived experiences and perspectives of adolescent mothers themselves. Utilizing a sociological analysis of this empirical data, the research argues that in the face of extreme social exclusion, a lack of family support, and limited cultural capital, the concept of "class habitus " sheds light on and explains the adolescent practices that contribute to not avoid pregnancies, often influenced by traditional societal expectations of women's roles. Desde una profunda y sistemática búsqueda de fuentes documentales y de antecedentes de investigación, en este trabajo nos centramos en las principales actividades económicas que dieron forma a la organización socio-política de la provincia de Mendoza desde su fundación (1561) hasta finales del siglo XIX, a los fines de conformar un panorama general de la matriz productiva en clave histórica-ambiental. Asimismo, se hizo hincapié en el sistema de organización socio-económica y territorial de las poblaciones originarias locales previas a la irrupción de los conquistadores españoles, las cuales se evidencian en estudios arqueológicos y/o etnohistóricos en los diversos ambientes de la provincia a lo largo de un amplio rango temporal -11.000 A.P - 500 A.P-. Esta sistematización documental y/o bibliográfica generó una base de datos que permitirá la elaboración de políticas patrimoniales de los bienes históricos-culturales que aluden a las actividades socioeconómicas y, de este modo, promover propuestas turísticas en Áreas Naturales Protegidas de la provincia.

El presente articulo reflexiona sobre las identidades y las experiencias artísticas de los maestros pintores que trabajaron en el entorno de la familia Mendoza en una Castilla finimedieval. Un periodo de gran complejidad donde la biografía de muchos de estos maestros se encuentra tan desdibujada como su perfil profesional o su vinculación con unas obras dispares en ámbitos geográficos. Un análisis que, apoyado en nuevas fuentes documentales o revisitando otras ya conocidas, aporta nueva luz sobre personalidades tan controvertidas como la del pintor Juan (Rodríguez) de Segovia.

Soil microbes are increasingly recognised as key contributors to wine terroir, playing crucial roles in soil health and nutrient cycling. Fungi and prokaryotes interact with soils, influencing physical and chemical properties and mediating nutrient availability for roots. These microorganisms also impact vine performance and wine quality. Viticulture is expanding to higher elevations due to their cooler temperatures; Mendoza's mountainous regions are of particular interest being, characterised by vineyards with heterogenous soil stoniness. However, the effect of this variability on soil-associated microbial communities remains unclear. This study explores microbial populations (alpha and beta diversity, taxonomical composition, and their relationship with soil physicochemical properties) in soils of contrasting stoniness, at different depths, vintages and sample types. A Malbec vineyard with heterogenous soil stoniness was selected, with two experimental sites 30 m apart containing stony soil (SS; 77 % stoniness) and non-stony soil (NS; 0 % stoniness), respectively, and which were managed identically. Samples were collected from two depths (0.3 m and 0.6 m) during two vintages (2017 and 2018), from bulk and rhizosphere. Amplicon sequencing targeted the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene (prokaryotes) and the ITS1 region (fungi). Results showed that soil type significantly influences fungal populations, with less effect on prokaryotes. Vintage, reflecting annual changes in weather and viticultural practices, was the most significant factor affecting microbial communities. Depth was particularly important for fungi, while the sampling type (bulk or rhizosphere) had no significant impact on the microbiome within the same soil profile. Certain soil components were found to influence microbial communities: pH affected prokaryotes, while calcareous content specifically influenced the Proteobacteria phylum. Additionally, five fungal orders were more abundant in the stony soils, though some remained unidentified. These findings provide a baseline for understanding microorganisms in contrasting soils types of a high-elevation vineyard, and they highlight the role of microbial diversity in supporting unique soil-plant-environment interactions.

Este trabajo busca demostrar cómo desde mediados del siglo XVIII hasta la primera década del siglo XIX, las economías de Mendoza y San Juan se conformaron como un Complejo Portuario Seco cordillerano. Este complejo permitió que ambas ciudades dinamizaran sus economías siendo puertos secos del circuito mercantil terrestre que unía a la región Río de la Plata con Santiago en el reino de Chile y las economías peruanas. De esta manera, este escrito busca abordar a las economías de Mendoza y San Juan desde un punto de vista distinto al acostumbrado análisis económico como productoras de alcoholes. Se intenta demostrar la existencia del Complejo Portuario Seco cordillerano a partir de bibliografía especializada y del trabajo de archivo, mediante el uso de las notas de aduana de Buenos Aires que demuestran la intensidad y densidad de los contactos entre la economía rioplatense y chilena con el mencionado Complejo Portuario.

The genus Ctenomys (Rodentia: Hystricomorpha) includes an impressive diversity of species, all of which have evolved in southern South America. The number of recognized species is currently approaching 70. During the last few decades, taxonomic revisions and new field collections have resulted in both the description of new species and the synonymization of others, suggesting that much of the alpha taxonomy of Ctenomys remains unresolved, particularly when considering the vast areas of distribution that are still unsampled. Both phylogeographic patterns and the fossil record suggest that the Andean Cordillera has played a critical role in the diversification of the genus. Building upon recent, intensive field sampling in the Andean and pre-Andean regions of southern Mendoza Province, I integrated molecular and morphological data to evaluate the taxonomic status of populations of Ctenomys in this region. These analyses revealed a taxonomically-diverse Ctenomys assemblage within which here I provide the description for a new species. Available data indicate that this new species is endemic to southern portions of Mendoza Province, a geographic region that represents the confluence of 3 lineages ' magellanicus ,' ' maulinus ,' and ' mendocinus ,' and that it is thus an area of particular importance for the conservation of these rodents. In Argentina's Mendoza River Basin (33° S), glaciers provide an essential supply of freshwater. They act as sensitive climate change indicators and are crucial for comprehending and evaluating changes in local and global climate. Based on Landsat remote sensing imagery from 1990 to 2020, this study aims to understand the distribution and changing patterns of glaciers in the Mendoza Basin and their influence on regional water supplies and ecosystems. It makes use of ratio threshold algorithms and manual interpretation to get glacier boundary data from seven different eras, using the Argentine National Glacier Inventory and the RGI glacier catalog. Furthermore, by integrating climate data from TerraClimate, the study examined the influence of regional climate change on glacier fluctuations and demonstrated the trajectory of climate change in this area during the study period. The findings show that: (1) The Mendoza Basin's glacier area was 134.09± 11.86 km² in 2020. The glacier area decreased considerably (p<0.01) between 1990 and 2020, totaling 86.87±21.30 km² (39.31±10.14%). The greatest rate of retreat was recorded between 2010 and 2020. (2) The majority of glaciers are more than 10 km², while the least common are less than 0.1 km². The biggest glaciers are melting the quickest. The majority of the glaciers are found on the southern slopes, with the northwest slopes having the fewest and the southeast and northeast slopes seeing the quickest rate of retreat. Their range of slopes is mostly 5° to 40°, with 50° to 55° being the quickest of retreat. With the greatest retreat rates below 4000 meters, the bulk are located at elevations between 4 200 and 5 400 meters. (3) The Mendoza region has seen a considerable increase in temperature since the late 1950s (p<0.001), with an average decadal rise in maximum and minimum temperatures of 0.53 °C and 0.29 °C, respectively. In the Mendoza Basin, glacier retreat is mostly caused by long-term increases in temperature; short-term factors include variations in precipitation. El siguiente trabajo pretende indagar y analizar la emergencia y resignificación de ciertos sujetos y prácticas en la educación secundaria pública durante el periodo de pandemia (2020-2021) en la provincia de Mendoza. Para esto, se analizan documentos oficiales y de políticas educativas emitidos en el periodo de pandemia, a nivel nacional y provincial y que tuvieron como destinatario al nivel secundario del sector público. El material empírico se compone de resoluciones, documentos y circulares publicados entre marzo del 2020 y diciembre de 2021, producidos por el Consejo Federal de Educación (CFE); el Ministerio de Educación (ME); la Dirección General de Escuelas (DGE) de Mendoza y los gremios docentes. Se parte del supuesto de que las políticas públicas educativas son fundamentalmente prácticas discursivas provisorias (Laclau y Mouffe, [1985] 2004) que buscan articular significantes que son siempre parciales. Por ello, se exploran en dichos documentos las fijaciones parciales de ciertas significaciones a determinados significantes, a partir de las cuales emergen posiciones de sujetos específicas; que a su vez determinan prácticas particulares. Estas fijaciones se asientan en dos equivalencias discursivas que dan sostén y sentido a dichas emergencias durante la pandemia: la de educación como acceso; y la de vínculo pedagógico como conexión. Sobre esas equivalencias, se fueron se articularon determinados significantes que dieron como resultado sujetos y prácticas establecidos desde criterios diferentes: epidemiológicos y pedagógicos. Mostraremos además cómo el G.E.M. (Sistema de Gestión Educativa Mendoza) se constituyó por excelencia en el dispositivo principal de control educativo, en tanto punto de intersección omnímodo, ya que no solo reguló, sino que contribuyó a estas emergencias que antes no habían sido consideradas dentro del sistema educativo mendocino y que devinieron en sujetos computables o no computables.

El artículo analiza el proceso de lucha de las obreras de la fábrica de conservas Arcanco de la provincia de Mendoza, Argentina, y tiene por objetivo conocer cómo esas mujeres fueron construyendo sus demandas conjugando su pertenencia de clase y género. Asimismo, explora el lugar de las trabajadoras en el proceso de formación de la clase en una década signada por importantes transformaciones socioproductivas. Bajo la hipótesis de que el año 1936 fue un momento bisagra para el movimiento obrero provincial en el que las trabajadoras de los nuevos establecimientos agroindustriales realizaron importantes gestas de lucha, se analiza este proceso huelguístico donde las trabajadoras mostraron que las mujeres tenían un espacio destacado en la producción industrial y en la lucha de clases. De esta manera, desde la historia social del trabajo con perspectiva de género y en base a numerosas fuentes periodísticas, se realiza una primera aproximación a una temática escasamente estudiada para la provincia, complejizando así lo que se conoce sobre las mujeres trabajadoras a nivel nacional.

Existe consenso sobre la importancia de la interdisciplina en el abordaje de problemáticas vinculadas a la reducción del riesgo de desastres. El presente trabajo busca visibilizar, mediante el análisis de un caso de estudio, como las ciencias sociales, en diálogo e interacción con las exactas y naturales, resultan en un recurso clave para caracterizar un territorio y una comunidad afectada por una erupción volcánica y así obtener información que contribuya al diseño de estrategias de intervención efectivas para la reducción de riesgos en futuros eventos eruptivo. La investigación analiza y se propone comprender la gestión de la crisis eruptiva 2018-2019 del Peteroa, uno de los volcanes más activos de los Andes del Sur. Sus inmediaciones son habitadas por una comunidad rural que practica la ganadería extensiva trashumante y que está atravesada por una serie de vulnerabilidades frente a los peligros volcánicos. Articulando perspectivas y herramientas disciplinares, recuperamos las experiencias y características de distintos actores claves e identificamos problemáticas, falencias y aspectos positivos que tuvieron lugar durante la crisis eruptiva. Enfocando el análisis en 3 nodos centrales –articulación, asistencia y comunicación– iluminamos algunas dimensiones para gestionar futuras crisis, pero también para trabajar en la reducción del riesgo durante períodos no eruptivos.

I synthesize the anthracological data from archaeological sites located north of Mendoza, in central-western Argentina, to demonstrate the potential of anthracology for studying socio-environmental relationships. My methodology includes archaeological, historical, ethnographic, and environmental data from 1200 to 100 years BP - the pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern periods. For each period, I discuss the characteristics of four interrelated factors: (1) ways of dwellings, (2) socio-environmental relationships, (3) archaeological records on firewood use, and (4) human-induced landscape modifications. My results allow the identification of problems and the generation of questions that enrich the social interpretation of the anthracological record. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

One of the injuries that most affect the spine in human remains of archaeological origin is Schmorl’s Nodes (SN), whose origin is usually attributed to multiple causes, such as joint degenerative processes, trauma, or functional stress due to physical activity. The objective of this work is to analyze the presence of NS in adult individuals from Central-Northern Mendoza (CNM) during 2400-300 years BP and to relate its frequency to the possible cultural changes that occurred during this period. There was a 26% of individuals with NS recorded in the sample analyzed (7/27), most of them with multiple lesions and greater involvement in the lumbar segment (9%). Young adults showed higher prevalence (33%) than older adults (17%), which would suggest that degenerative processes would not be the main cause of NS but rather would be related to physical activity patterns resulting from economic and cultural practices. Moreover, it was more frequent in individuals from the mountain region (33%) compared to those from the plains (22%) during the period considered. This suggests that the lifestyles of the groups that inhabited the mountain region would have had a greater demand for biomechanical stress, with a greater impact on the spinal column which was not a constant during the period analyzed. Las patologías infecciosas han constituido una de las principales causas de muerte en las sociedades prehistóricas. Su estudio permite conocer el impacto en las dinámicas poblacionales e investigar los patrones de adaptación frente al surgimiento de nuevos patógenos y sus mutaciones. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar una primera aproximación al análisis de procesos infecciosos en restos bioarqueológicos del Holoceno Tardío (desde ca. 4200 años cal AP hasta el presente) en ambientes de altura y planicies de las provincias de Mendoza y Córdoba (Argentina). Los grupos que ocuparon estas áreas presentan particularidades respecto a su organización social, pero comparten similitudes en los modos de vida y las estrategias de subsistencia, basados en la caza-recolección a comienzos del período, con incorporación de la horticultura hacia momentos finales. Se realizó el análisis paleopatológico de 75 individuos adultos de ambos sexos, mediante la observación macroscópica y el registro sistemático de lesiones óseas. Se calcularon frecuencias por sexo, edad, criterios cronológicos (pre y post 1000/1200 años AP) y ambientales (Sierras/Llanuras y Planicies/Montañas). El 48% de los individuos de la muestra presentó lesiones que podrían asociarse a patologías infecciosas, de los cuales el 46% corresponde a Mendoza y el 58,3% a Córdoba. Se observan mayores prevalencias para Mendoza a inicios del Holoceno Tardío, así como en momentos finales del período para Córdoba; en términos geográficos/ambientales, los grupos que habitaron la zona de Sierras en Córdoba y la Planicie de Mendoza registraron mayores porcentajes de afectación. Estos resultados se discuten según el modelo de transiciones epidemiológicas.

El actual régimen agroalimentario corporativo y neoliberal está reconfigurando activamente la geografía mundial de la vitivinicultura que conocíamos hasta el momento. La creciente competencia internacional exacerba las estrategias regionales de distinción de los productos y sus mecanismos de patrimonialización. Así lo demuestra la proliferación de dispositivos de normalización y delimitación de zonas productivas. Más allá de las querellas intercontinentales que han suscitado en el pasado, en la actualidad se revelan conflictos y tensiones entre escalas, entrelazando acelerada y frágilmente actores y territorios en la conformación de lugares vitivinícolas que necesitan ser delimitados y reconocidos institucionalmente. En este trabajo analizamos las disputas por la definición de la indicación geográfica del Paraje Altamira en el oasis del Valle de Uco en Mendoza, Argentina, con el fin de desentrañar las estrategias de legitimación desplegadas por actores empresariales, científicos y estatales, y las relaciones de poder que se establecen entre ellos en el marco de la territorialización vitivinícola corporativa. El diagnóstico de este caso de estudio nos permitirá valorar críticamente la emergencia de otras nuevas iniciativas similares que dieron lugar a una compleja y jerárquica producción de escalas.

Libro de Resúmenes de las IV Jornadas de Paleontología de la Cuenca Neuquina, que tuvo lugar en Malargüe (Mendoza, Argentina) del 27 al 30 de Septiembre del 2023.

Una de las lesiones que más afectan la columna vertebral en restos humanos de origen arqueológico son los Nódulos de Schmorl (NS), cuyo origen suele atribuirse a múltiples causas, como procesos degenerativos articulares, traumas o estrés funcional por actividad física. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la presencia de NS en individuos adultos del Centro-Norte de Mendoza (CNM) durante el periodo temporal de 2400-300 años AP y relacionar su frecuencia con los posibles cambios culturales ocurridos a lo largo de este período. Se registró un 26% de individuos con NS en la muestra analizada (7/27), la mayoría con múltiples lesiones y mayor afectación en el segmento lumbar (9%). Los adultos jóvenes mostraron mayor prevalencia (33%) que los adultos mayores (17%), lo cual sugeriría que los procesos degenerativos no serían las principales causantes de NS, sino que estaría relacionado con patrones de actividad física producto de prácticas económicas y culturales. Además, fue más frecuente en individuos de la región montaña (33%) con respecto a los de planicie (22%) durante el período considerado. Esto permite suponer que los modos de vida de los grupos que habitaron en zonas montañosas habrían tenido una mayor demanda de estrés biomecánico, con mayor impacto en la columna vertebral, lo cual no fue una constante durante el periodo analizado

Alstroemeria spathulata C. Presl. is an endemic species described for central Chile that is recorded here for the first time in Argentina (Mendoza, Malargüe Department) in a locality close to the border with Chile. The species is described and illustrated with field photographs and environmental notes are provided regarding habitat and possible pollinator of the specimen collected. A geographic distribution map of the species in Argentina and Chile is provided; the morphological identification is also corroborated with molecular analysis of the collected specimen and another one found in the herbarium SI. Finally, a dichotomous key is provided for 12 Alstroemeria species recorded for Argentina, including the new record. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Iris pseudacorus is an invasive macrophyte in wetland ecosystems around the world. In Argentina, its distribution range covers the eastern and central regions, registering its presence in protected, natural and artificial wetlands. We report its presence in desert natural wetlands and artificial irrigation systems (Mendoza River and Tunuyán River basins, Mendoza). We provide a description of the specimens and photographic material, adding new georeferenced records and the first specimens to scientific reference collections of drylands in western Argentina. Este trabajo se propone profundizar sobre los acontecimientos ocurridos entre 1932 y 1943 bajo los gobiernos liberal-conservadores en la provincia de Mendoza -Argentina en relación con la gestión hídrica. El marco analítico será el Departamento General de Irrigación (DGI), principal agencia estatal con injerencia en el reparto del agua. Teniendo presente que los administradores del Estado (en este caso el DGI) son quienes diagnostican problemas y proponen soluciones acordes a ellos, nos permite en este estudio preguntarnos acerca de la capacidad estatal orientada al bien común que ejercen las agencias estatales. Para esto, nos valemos de la lectura realizada de las Memorias institucionales, donde encontramos un proyecto común que compartieron las diversas gestiones del DGI en torno al manejo del agua en la década del 30. Un deseo institucional con proyección a futuro, en el que las obras hidráulicas son vistas como bienes durables, con impacto positivo para la totalidad de la población (no solo provincial, sino incluso nacional).

Existe actualmente una marcada escasez de información sobre la materialidad incaica de la precordillera mendocina, por lo que resulta difícil evaluar el papel de este espacio durante el control estatal regional. A fin de contribuir a llenar ese vacío se presentan aquí algunos datos surgidos del análisis del registro estratigráfico, lítico, cerámico y arqueofaunístico de uno de los sectores del sitio precordillerano más importante, el alero Agua de la Cueva. A partir de los mismos se discuten algunos aspectos relativos a la funcionalidad del sitio, a la cronología de la ocupación incaica, a la movilidad transversal en el noroeste de Mendoza y a propuestas previas sobre el abastecimiento del valle de Uspallata desde las tierras bajas orientales.

En este trabajo nos proponemos un acercamiento a ciertas representaciones de Mendoza correspondientes a los años inaugurales del siglo XIX, en diferentes formatos: “Descripción de la ciudad de Mendoza, remitida por su Diputado de Comercio don Eusevio [sic] Videla”, publicado en El Telégrafo Mercantil, Rural, Político, económico e historiógrafo del Río de la Plata, de Buenos Aires, más dos obras “literarias” de Francisco de Serra y Canals: El celo del Español y el Indiano instruido (1800), y El Perito incógnito y el Curioso aprovechado, además, un “Plano topográfico de la Ciudad de Mendoza del año 1802”, extraído de la obra de Jorge Ricardo Ponte, Mendoza, aquella ciudad de barro. Historia de una ciudad andina desde el siglo XVI hasta nuestros días (1987) y que, conforme expresa dicho autor, fue publicado por Monseñor José Aníbal Verdaguer en su Historia Eclesiástica de Cuyo en 1931. Nuestro objetivo es la reconstrucción de las representaciones en torno del paisaje/territorio mendocinos en esos textos, y la hipótesis que guía nuestro abordaje es la posibilidad de detectar en ellos una serie de tópicos y términos que darían cuenta de la "modernidad" ilustrada. En dichos estudios esperamos advertir la evolución de las ideas en relación con las representaciones de Mendoza, visibles a través de diferentes estrategias de escritura.

Substrate composition and seed origin influence the morphological characteristics of future trees. This study aimed to quantify growth of sweet algarrobo plants, Neltuma flexuosa, obtained from seeds collected from two sites in Argentina and grown on substrates with varying vermicompost percentages. A completely randomized factorial design was used with four levels of vermicompost percentage (0; 20; 30; 70) and two levels of seed origin (Monte Comán, Mendoza and; Bolsón de Fiambalá, Catamarca) (n= 360). Height growth rate (from root neck to apex) (Delta height), root neck diameter growth rate (Delta diameter), and Slenderness index were measured for each plant. Results showed that northern sweet algarrobo specimens growing on vermicompost-enriched substrates had a significantly higher Delta height (p<0.05). Additionally, northern specimens growing on 30-70% vermicompost-enriched substrates and southern specimens growing on 30% vermicompost-enriched substrates had a significantly higher Delta diameter compared to those growing on vermicompost-free substrates. Moreover, northern specimens growing on vermicompost-enriched substrates had a significantly higher slenderness index than southern specimens. Based on these findings, we recommend using seeds from the northern region and substrates with a minimum addition of 20% vermicompost for sweet algarrobo cultivation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

La rama principal de la familia Mendoza mantuvo una estrecha relación con el convento de San Francisco de Guadalajara y eligieron la capilla mayor del templo conventual como lugar para ser enterrados. En el siglo XVII, D. Juan de Dios de Mendoza y Silva, X Duque del Infantado, decidió construir en este templo un Panteón en el que reunir los restos familiares encargando el proyecto a Felipe Sánchez. Se trata de un magnífico conjunto barroco inspirado en diseñado por Juan Bautista Crescenzi para los Reyes en El Escorial. El panteón de los Duques del Infantado no tiene la grandiosidad ni la riqueza decorativa del de los Reyes del Escorial, sin embargo, desde un punto compositivo, sus espacios son más ricos y sus soluciones más avanzadas y sobre todo destaca sobre él por el uso que hace de la luz para sorprender y emocionar al espectador.

Stakeholder adaptation is a critical strategy to overcome changing climate patterns worldwide. Still it relies on the speed and effectiveness of information flow to end-users. Research shows that the loss of information in several stages of its spread and learning from peers is more important than the knowledge circulated by extension services. Women’s participation and contribution are supportive and strategic, depending on the level of agreement and the interplay of trust variables within the network. In the arid Andes, agriculture is central and dependent on water management and macroeconomic conditions that shape market prospects, irrigation practices, and stakeholder behavior. Data were collected using the platform of a capacity-building program for organisations of water users in the Diamante and Atuel River basins in Mendoza, Argentina. Social Network Analysis (SNA) contributes to unveiling the cornerstones of information flow by identifying group structures, strong bonds, and bottlenecks in water management systems. In the first step, we evaluated the characteristics (density, centrality, average shortest path, and degree) of the pre-existing relationships and five sub-topic networks. Second, we compare networks containing pre-existing links only with those formed during the lecture. Emphasizing adaptation practices to cope with climate change impacts, the results provide valuable insights into the intricate interplay of gender dynamics, trust, expertise recognition, and discussion patterns within water and agricultural extension groups in Argentina. These insights highlight the ongoing need to promote gender equity, address biases in expertise recognition, and leverage trust for meaningful knowledge exchanges within evolving social contexts. It also reveals the alignment of Argentina’s gender performance with similar production setups in Southern America or the Global North, highlighting the universality of challenges and opportunities in fostering inclusive and equitable participation. Our findings indicate that each group within the two river basins exhibits numerous pre-existing links and tends to be less accessible to newcomers, resulting in a shorter average path. Thus, information can spread faster. Trust is an underlying facilitator for sensible topics and a catalyzer for communication.

El presente trabajo analiza desde el punto de vista de la performance dos eventos acontecidos en Mendoza durante la lucha por la defensa del agua y en contra de la megaminería contaminante. Tanto la Marcha más grande de la historia como la Marcha de los tambores por el agua presentan características singulares que las distinguen de otras manifestaciones porque en su desarrollo alcanzan el estatuto de performance artística. Tales características son analizadas a partir de estructuras y convenciones particulares presentes en cada una. Además, observamos cómo opera en ambos eventos la multimedialidad en lo que se conoce como constelaciones de performance. Finalmente, realizamos una breve reflexión comparativa sobre una obra de teatro inspirada en las manifestaciones de diciembre desde el punto de vista del archivo y el repertorio.

In the face of the disciplinary crisis of philology and the emergence of cyberculture, two authors shed light on new ways of theorizing about reading. Studying the contributions of Daniel Link in Suturas and Juan José Mendoza in “Avatares de los textos en la época de la reproductibilidad digital” can show how the new forms of textuality brought by cyberculture stand at the core of the crisis of philology that has been diagnosed by a number of leading theorists. The paper begins with a state of the art of the crisis of philology between the late twentieth century and the middle of the second decade of the twenty-first century, and then continues with an analysis of the works by Link and Mendoza. From there, a series of questions emerge, and this paper addresses them in order to investigate whether or not philology should be in charge by living up to this new textuality. It concludes by explaining what conceptions it can leave behind to do so and that philology is undoubtedly the discipline that must be in charge of reading this massive textbook flow that is the empire of internet.

La literatura académica sobre el lencinismo ha enfatizado su carácter movimientista y el liderazgo carismático de los Lencinas. Este artículo se propone matizar esa postura para recuperar la fórmula del partido político y trazar la gravitación de un tejido de prácticas políticas sobre el espacio público impulsadas por diversos actores políticos tras los cambios acicateados por la reforma electoral de 1912 y por la llegada del radicalismo lencinista al poder en 1918. En este sentido, este trabajo reconstruye un amplio repertorio de prácticas desplegadas por la UCRLencinista para estrechar los vínculos con la sociedad civil con la intención de cooptar lealtades y votos, aunque estas excedieron el parámetro electoralista. Estas actividades dan cuenta de una intensa politización de la sociedad provincial y de la compleja construcción de redes y lealtades organizativas que tuvieron lugar no solo en la capital, sino que se descentralizaron y se replicaron en los departamentos.

Just like Archimedes we want to immerse ourselves in an immersion bath that allows us to enter the time when the old newspapers of the 19th century were written. The British historian Asa Briggs maintains that reading newspapers seems to him the best thing that can be done to "bury oneself" in a historical epoch, because "it works as an immersion exercise that allows us exactly to create a lexicon, by recovering the language technician of the time, by understanding what his key concepts are, his keywords". This work was carried out with a grant from the Investiga Cultura Convocatoria to carry out an investigation in the patrimonial funds of the Miter Archive and Museum. The geographical and chronological cut that we proposed included the journalistic productions in the Miter Archive and Museum of the provinces of Córdoba, Mendoza and San Juan between 1820 and 1852. These limits are justified by the fact that until 1813 the current provinces of Córdoba, Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis and La Rioja formed a single jurisdiction under the name of Córdoba del Tucumán, and, although the Government of Cuyo was created in 1813, the Government of Córdoba del Tucumán continued to exist until 1820. En este artículo nos proponemos analizar la gestión de Obras Sanitarias de la Nación en Mendoza durante el periodo de gobernaciones lencinistas, haciendo hincapié en el vínculo Nación- Provincia. Nos interesa indagar en un período signado por fuertes conexiones iniciales entre esas escalas y por momentos de ruptura marcada por las intervenciones federales que se suscitaron en Mendoza. Pero que además está atravesado por la creciente profesionalización de los equipos estatales. Específicamente abordaremos la vinculación entre autoridades provinciales y nacionales en relación con la propuesta y ejecución de políticas públicas de ampliación y mejoramiento de las redes de servicios sanitarios. El trabajo observará acciones conjuntas, el rol de los vecinos, la visibilidad de agentes claves en las negociaciones, así como las formas de resolver conflictos o llegar a acuerdos. Las fuentes sobre las que nos apoyamos son la prensa local, documentos oficiales editados por el Ejecutivo provincial, documentación gráfica de la repartición nacional y diarios de sesiones legislativas.

Mendoza is the main province of Argentina in terms of both wine production and wine tourism. While more than one million wine tourists visit Mendoza every year, little is known about the characteristics of these tourists. The aims of this study are to describe the profiles of wine tourists in Mendoza and to analyse the variables influencing their spending. This is, to our knowledge, the first study addressing any of these aims in Argentina. We conducted 427 surveys to wine tourists in the main wine regions of Mendoza. The descriptive analysis of the survey results allows us to derive recommendations for both the private and the public sector. We also used this survey to perform a statistical analysis of the variables influencing spending in wine tourism, which allows us to recommend promotional strategies and marketing efforts that may have a higher return.
