Multi‐method research was conducted in South Africa to explore the personal values that shape millennial men's clothing retail store choices when purchasing semi‐formal/smart workwear for themselves. The qualitative phase comprised in‐depth, personal interviews with 25 participants, implementing soft laddering to elicit the preferred attributes and desired consequences that drive clothing retail store choices. These 'easier to communicate' properties formed the crux of the phase 2 measuring instrument. The online quantitative questionnaire, an interactive version of the established Association Pattern Technique (APT), was completed by 408 millennial men as part of the means‐end chain (MEC) procedure. The stepwise process produced a series of hierarchical value maps (HVMs), disclosing two prominent underlying personal values that drive millennial men's clothing store choices. 'Pleasure' emerged as the most prominent personal value, signalling millennials' high regard for enjoyable shopping experiences. The importance of a sense of 'security' should also be noted. Accordingly, the underlying forces that drive this financially lucrative cohort's clothing retail store choices extend beyond the marketing principles taught in business schools. Like the Non-Rational Influence View, the Quality of Reasoning View can explain why Sebastian wrongfully manipulates India in playing on her insecurities. That recipe is provided by the Reductive View: it involves considering what other rights people do and do not have against one another within a given relationship and constructing scenarios in which some reasoning-subverting influence either does or does not infringe those other rights. We have already examined the third upshot, in §II.D: the Reductive View is faithful to the idea that manipulation is wrong when and because it conflicts with autonomy, in the sense that it conflicts with autonomy as a set of moral non-interference rights. For my purposes, it will suffice to distinguish two things philosophers commonly refer to as "autonomy": autonomy in action (i.e., autonomy in the philosopher of action's sense), and autonomy as a set of moral rights. Heat stress is one of the most common complaints of health care employees who wear isolation gowns to protect themselves from biological agents, particularly during the warmer seasons. This study was conducted in a climatic chamber to determine the influence of airflow within isolated hospital gowns on physiological-perceptual heat strain indices. The experiment was conducted in three trials: regular clothes (CON), an impenetrable gown without air blowing (GO), and a gown with air blowing (GO + FAN) at temperature conditions of 27 °C and 25% relative humidity (RH). During the trial, physiological-perceptual response data were recorded for a half-hour on a treadmill at a speed of km/hr and a slope of 0% activity at 5-min intervals. The ASHRAE Likert scale was used to assess thermal comfort (TC), thermal sensation (TS), and skin wetness sensation (WS). As the results show, there was a significant difference in mean scores for TC and WS in both sexes when working in the CON, GO, and GO + FAN groups (P < 0.001). In women, the mean scores for TS, TC, and WS reduced considerably (P < 0.001) in the GO and GO + FAN in the amount of 10 and 12 CFM (20 m 3 /h), but in males, there was a statistically significant difference between mean scores (P < 0.001) in the GO + FAN at 12 CFM (20 m 3 /h) and 14 CFM (24 m 3 /h). Also, the greatest difference between the average heart rate, chest temperature, and temperature inside the clothes in women and men in the trials GO and GO + FAN was observed in the air flow 12 CFM and 14 CFM, respectively (P < 0.001). The usage of an air blower in isolated hospital clothes has been shown to influence physiological-perceptual parameters in men and women substantially. The existence of airflow in these gowns can improve safety, performance, and thermal comfort while also decreasing the risk of heat-related disorders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Business Intelligence (BI) plays an important role in decision support systems by analyzing business data. Demand forecasting is a primary part of a sales decision system. In this research work, a Neural Network based Business Intelligence (NNBI) dashboard is proposed for a sales decision system. Data is collected from a leading clothing brand, then NNBI executes data and uses Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) to predict daily, monthly and weekly sales. The accuracy of the prediction model (0.95) validates the performance of NNBI. Tableau, a well-known BI tool is used to design NNBI dashboard. A combination of graphs, charts and text is used to interactively present the sales information. Results of NNBI show that a BI dashboard with the analysis and prediction power of NN is a good fit for a business organization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As one of the manufacturing industries with high energy consumption and high pollution, sand casting is facing major challenges in green manufacturing. In order to balance production and green sustainable development, this paper puts forward man–machine dual resource constraint mechanism. In addition, a multi-objective flexible job shop scheduling problem model constrained by job transportation time and learning effect is constructed, and the goal is to minimize processing time energy consumption and noise. Subsequently, a hybrid discrete multi-objective imperial competition algorithm (HDMICA) is developed to solve the model. The global search mechanism based on the HDMICA improves two aspects: a new initialization method to improve the quality of the initial population, and the empire selection method based on Pareto non-dominated solution to balance the empire forces. Then, the improved simulated annealing algorithm is embedded in imperial competition algorithm (ICA), which overcomes the premature convergence problem of ICA. Therefore, four neighborhood structures are designed to help the algorithm jump out of the local optimal solution. Finally, an example is used to verify the feasibility of the proposed algorithm. By comparing with the original ICA and other four algorithms, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in the quality of the first frontier solution is verified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Warp knitted mesh fabric was usually applied to sportswear due to good air transmission, but without multilayer structure and one-way transport property. In order to solve this problem, the miss-lapping structure was applied to examine the possibility to fabricate multilayer and improve water transport in warp knitting structure. Besides, the effect of thread type and warp density on comfort properties were also exploited to enhance the moisture management. The moisture management test, water vapor permeability and air permeability were examined. Long float at the back side in structure I formed by miss-lapping could improve liquid transport and air permeability, but slightly reduce water vapor permeability. With proper density, there existed the optimal one-way transport capacity and overall moisture management. Warp density in 20 cpc was an optimal parameter of knitting process. Taking advantage of miss-lapping, sample 5 where polypropylene was partly threaded on GB1 provided best moisture management, water vapor permeability and air permeability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The leaf beetle Diorhabda carinulata Desbrochers (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) was introduced into the United States in 1999 for classical biological control of the exotic woody invader saltcedar (Tamarix spp. L. [Caryophyllales: Tamaricaceae]). The recent southern expansion of the range of D. carinulata in the United States has precipitated conflict between proponents of biological control of Tamarix and those with concerns over habitat conservation for avian species. Several semiochemicals that mediate aggregations by this species have been reported, but no repellent compounds have been recorded thus far. We now report a repellent compound, 4-oxo-(E)-2-hexenal, induced by adult D. carinulata feeding on saltcedar foliage. Collection of headspace volatiles, gas chromatography mass spectrometry, and electroantennographic analyses identified 4-oxo-(E)-2-hexenal as an insect-induced compound that is antennally active. Behavioral and exposure assays were conducted to test for repellency and toxicity in adults and larvae. Headspace volatiles were also collected from adult males exposed to 4-oxo-(E)-2-hexenal to determine the impact exposure might have on the emission of the aggregation pheromone. 4-Oxo-(E)-2-hexenal elicited electrophysiological responses in adults of both sexes. Behavioral responses indicated repellency across multiple doses for reproductive D. carinulata adults but not in nonreproductive adults. Exposure assays indicated altered behaviors in first instar larvae and adults, but not in third instar larvae. Collection of headspace volatiles indicated that exposure to 4-oxo-(E)-2-hexenal did not alter emission of the D. carinulata aggregation pheromone by adult males. Among terrestrial plant species, male dwarfism (nannandry) is a unique feature of bryophytes, common in numerous dioicous pleurocarpous mosses. In this study, our objective was to describe and to elucidate the incidence of dwarf males in Portuguese populations of Homalothecium sericeum (Hedw.) Schimp and H. meridionale (M. Fleisch. & Warnst.) Hedenäs. We also evaluated the occurrence of sporophytes and of dwarf males, in 150 selected samples from the LISU herbarium collection. The results showed that most samples are heteromorphic, with sporophytes, and include dwarf males, independent marginal male branches and/or caducous brood branches as vegetative propagules. The samples containing only independent male plants are infrequent. Anisospory was observed in both species, with a perceptible bimodal distribution of spore size in both species. Moreover, in Portugal no differences were found between the two species of this complex concerning the presence and relative position of male plants, the occurrence of anisospory, or the strategies exhibited by male plants, such as nannandry and caducous branches. A study on diversification of Kerala mural paintings was conducted by making different variety of products with different styles of design. Rather than confining Kerala murals on wall, nowadays several mediums are used to increase its aesthetic value and attract the potential customers. In this paper, the development of traditional and contemporary mural products is discussed. A survey was conducted first to know about the preferences of the potential customers on Kerala Mural products and products to be produced were selected according to this survey. Later, another survey was conducted to test the visual appearance and price range of the developed mural products. The study concludes by learning that people are showing interest in technological advancements in mural painting and its diversification for special purposes like social issues. A nonuniform vertical phase distribution and thick insulating barrier can decrease the energy transfer between slices in layered perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, an interlayer cross‐linked Dion–Jacobson (DJ)‐type 2D PSC with 1,4‐butanediamine (BDA) as a short‐chain insulating spacer [formula: (BDA)MAn −1PbnI3n + 1] is reported and demonstrates the vertical phase becoming uniform with enhanced exciton coupling, leading to reduced nonradiative recombination. For n = 1 pure phase perovskite, an exciton binding energy of the DJ phase (BDA)PbI4 is ≈142 meV, much smaller than ≈435 meV of Ruddlesden–Popper (RP) phase (BA)2PbI4 (n = 1) perovskite, indicative of exciton‐coupling‐induced efficient energy transfer. Therefore, the high energy emission peaks for the (BDA)MA3Pb4I13 film are not observed even in liquid nitrogen temperature (78 K), which can be distinguished from that of the (BA)2MA3Pb4I13 film. Energy transfer between 2D slices of (BDA)MA3Pb4I13 is 100 times faster than that of (BA)2MA3Pb4I13. The uniform vertical distribution and exciton coupling mitigate nonradiative energy loss and significantly improve Voc in inverted structures (PEDOT:PSS/(BDA)MA3Pb4I13/PCBM/bathocuproine/Ag) to ≈1.15 V and the control n‐butylammonium‐based device demonstrates only a Voc = ≈1 V.
