Water wave propagation is a complex physical phenomenon in the field of coastal and ocean engineering, and it plays an important role in the prediction of working performance for nearshore, offshore and deep-water structures such as port facilities, marine vessels, floating offshore platforms. This paper presents the formulation of Green-Naghdi level I equation from the physics conservation of mass and momentum using infinitesimal element. The governing equation are derived from the Navier-Stokes equation by following Krylov-Kantorovich method. The output will enhance the understanding of behaviour of water wave propagation. The theoretical findings will start as a basis for future investigations such as the smoothness of the transition point of the water wave propagation by changing the shape function for high level Green-Naghdi Equation.
