CLIMATE change ,ORGANISMS ,COMMUNICABLE diseases ,SOCIAL systems - Abstract
The paper aims to briefly present the main problems regarding the impact of climate change on living organisms (humans, animals, plants), the measures taken so far to solve these problems and the actions that must be taken into account by the European Union and the states members. They propose increasing the resilience of health and social systems and emphasize the need to ensure adequate surveillance and control of climate change impacts on health, such as epidemiological surveillance, control of communicable diseases and the effects of extreme events. In general, climate change does not cause many new or unknown health risks, but it will intensify certain interactions between the environment and human health, with more drastic effects than at present. Most public health measures and systems already exist, but they need to be adapted to the new situation and new needs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

When we talk about the consumption of a food, we must take into account its importance for a balanced human diet, its production capacity, consumer preferences for that food and, last but not least, retail prices. Taking into account the current challenges regarding the provision of food for the entire population of the globe and its access to healthy food, the periodic analysis of these indicators is necessary to be able to develop policies and strategies at the global, regional and/or the national level. The purpose of the paper is to analyze meat consumption in Romania in the period 2010-2020, starting from the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics, in order to estimate the trend in a future time horizon. Romania ranks third in the hierarchy of vegetable growing countries in Europe. This study focuses on the determinants of the decision to buy fresh and canned vegetables and on the satisfaction of buyers on these purchases. The quantitative survey was used as a method of collecting information, and the investigation technique was used as an investigation technique, structured in the form of an opinion poll. The opinion poll applied is a questionnaire-based survey that provided information on the situation of vegetable consumers and the change in consumption behavior caused by the COVID -19 health crisis. Most respondents prefer buying directly from the market, buying between 1-3 kg per purchase. If in previous years taste and provenance were the basic criteria in the purchase of vegetables, the economic crisis caused by the health crisis COVID-19, brought the price in the first place, due to the decrease of buyers' incomes or other financial problems. The need for consumption/family, however, did not suffer, the quantities purchased being comparable to those of previous years, buyers turning to vegetables with a low degree of perishability. The study provides results on consumers' criteria for selecting vegetables and their hierarchical changes during the COVID-19 health crisis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper represents the result of the efforts made to develop a market study within the first subsystem of the marketing - the entries on the market, meaning the production sector, by applying a questionnaire addressed to the producers of cow's milk, sheep meat, pork, broiler. Even though the number of the questionnaires fullfilled (from 69 animal farms) is insufficient for the information contained to be statistically validated as a representative sample, given the data and information received from the producers who were opened to participate in this study and who deserves our appreciation, we felt that they must be known. The results of the opinion poll show that the respondents do not, in general, conclude contracts for the sale of the products, and the valorisation of the production takes place on the local and county market, only the larger farms delivering on the national market. The production sold is generally unprocessed, in a proportion of about 65%. The sources of financing of the activity are own sources in the proportion of 40-60%, loans 30-50%, subsidies 10-65% and access of European funds 10-15%. The questionnaire also reveals the problems that the breeders encounter during the production. Many of them invoke the low selling price of production, the fact that the takeover of the production has an irregular frequency, and the payment is made late.

SYSTEMS software , *AGRICULTURAL research , *PRECISION farming , *NATURAL resources , *CLIMATE change , *FARM tractors - Abstract
The sustainable use of natural resources by employing technical and social modernization of agriculture, is a constant preoccupation, given current challenges related to climate changes, maintenance of competitiveness for agricultural producers and the decrease of dependence to non-renewable resources. In a situation where the world population is constantly growing and the agricultural fund is limited and with clear trends of deterioration, agricultural research has played a particularly important role in increasing production and in the most rational exploitation of existing resources. The concept of precision agriculture involves regulating the inputs to the agricultural system (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides) so that they are distributed in precise location, quantity, and time needed. Measuring the various working parameters through sensors and transducers, analyzing the information received through computer systems and specific software, and sending commands to change other parameters on tractors and agricultural machines created the Smart farming system. Planning a community development is a natural approach aimed at increasing the quality of life and improving living conditions of citizens. However, the development of a community cannot be conceived in the absence of a vision on the directions to which the community wants and and is able to go. The National Development Plan (PND) is a concept specific to the European economic and social cohesion policy, meant to provide a coherent and stable conception regarding the development of the member states of the EU. This concept was practically transposed into development priorities, programs and projects, in accordance with the programming principle of structural funds. In this paper, we will present aspects regarding the PND and what this has meant from the point of view of accessing the European funds for the development of rural areas in Romania, and the potential of tourism for development of their economy. The diversified way of eating apples as well as the versatility of the species that can be cultivated with good results under different environmental and climatic conditions has determined a particular interest for fruit growers. In Romania, apple culture occupies the first place both in terms of surface and production. Current concepts of rational nutrition place fruit consumption in a priority, primarily because they provide the human body with a wide range of vitamins, mineral salts and vital water that are so necessary for the normal physiological activity of the human body. In this paper we are looking at the dynamics of the areas planted with apple during the period 2010-2016, the dynamics of the total and average outputs, as well as the dynamics of the capitalization prices on each county. The purpose of the paper is to make some recommendations that might be useful to Romanian producers who choose apple for their business.

The fruit-vegetable sector is of major importance in Europe's economy, but is under-exploited, representing only 18% of total agricultural production. Although the beneficial effects of consuming vegetables and fruits are permanently promoted, it is still below the WHO recommended level of 400 grams daily for one person. In Romania things are no different, even if there is an extraordinary potential and a vast supply of fresh vegetables and fruits. On the one hand, the consumer is overwhelmed by the high purchase prices, on the other hand the producers have given up investing to create a competitive market to European standards, discouraged by the massive imports. To create a clearer picture of this sector, in this paper we set out to study the surfaces and productions of vegetables and fruits, the import and export and consumption of these products, in Romania compared to other countries of the European Union between 2007 and 2018. Between March 2017 and April 2017, ICEADR Institute conducted a survey among the Romanian fruit producers, in order to identify the problems they face and to highlight their opinions. The survey's results were used to find solutions for an efficient exploitation of fruits' production. Quantitative research was used as the main method for picking information while the research technique consisted on the structural research (survey). Most farmers are not implied in associative forms and they are not interested in joining one in the nearest future. Small exploitations register small productions which do not permit them to sign selling contracts and consequently their incomings are around 4500 RON each year. Also, the Authorities' implication in supporting small and medium producers is very low. Awareness of the advantages of association / cooperation by facilitating access to private and public resources, promoting practices and technologies that ensure environmental protection, assurance of consultancy, defense of members' interests in their relations with government bodies and state administration, promotion of products on national and international market, ensuring equal rights for all members, improving the information and supply system, developing agro-food markets, correlating the level of production and product quality in line with market requirements, capitalizing on larger quantities of products, reducing tax evasion is the solution to solving problems Romanian grain farmers. This paper aims to analyse the data related to tourism and agro-tourism in the North-Western region of Romania and the number of Romanian and foreign tourists. This analysis represents partial data from the paper entitled "Research regarding the management of quality of activities and agro-tourism services in the North West region of Romania" which will be sustained and published soon. The data were collected from National Institute of Statistics and processed according to the study purpose, namely the establishment of a agrotourist boarding house in a village in the county of Maramures. In order to accomplish this, it was necessary to analyze the tourism potential, types of tourism from the region and the local market. From the present paper resulted a multitude of reasons to set up a agrotourist boarding house in an area of a rare natural beauty. Almost in no other area in Romania you will not see traditions better maintained than in Maramures. One possible explanation for the high percentage that agrotourist pensions have in the total number of accommodation in Maramures County is the fact that it could be exploited the existing buildings that have been modernized and adapted to the current rules. The second explanation could be that they provide the visitor welcoming accommodation facilities, warm or even unusual for foreigners. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
