Aim: To compare the high resolution computed tomography features in Covid and other viral pneumonia presented in recent literature. Methodology: For this study, total 25 studies were included which follow the Preferred Reporting Items guideline for conducting this systematic review analysis (PRISMA). Electronic articles of Covid from January 2020 to April 2020 were searched on PUB Med, online Willey library, and Science Direct site by using keywords related to CT imaging and Corona virus. For pneumonia related studies articles from year 2010 to year 2017 were included for better comparison. Results: After pooling data, it was observed that bilateral involvement was found in 76.8% of studies, 68.4% GGO, and 62.2% ratio was occupied by peripheral distribution in different studies. Total 48.7% of studies were concerned about the ground glass opacity (GGO) consolidation, 33.2% observed consolidation, 27.7% look for crazy paving pattern, and 25% of studies observed mixed central and peripheral distribution. Conclusion: Study concludes that the chest CT finding results of selected studies for Covid and pneumonia cases were overlapping. Only high prevalence related to upper and lower lobe involvement and peripheral distribution was relatively high in Covid studies. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has become a prominent imaging technique in medicine. MRI contrast agents are used to increase the sensitivity of this technique. Recently, a new method for cancer treatment with a less side effect called photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been introduced. In this method cancer tissues are selectively destroyed without injuring the surrounding healthy cells. However, for the successful use of this method, the selection of an appropriate photosensitizer is important. Hence, diagnosis-treat union of MRI and PDT will be significantly promoted if a new family of bi-functional agents is found, which would combine the effects of a contrast agent in MRI and of a photosensitizer in PDT. It will bring great improvement to the cancer diagnosis and treatment. Porphyrins have proved to be useful photosensitizing agents in PDT due to their promising photophysical efficiency and a less side effect. This work briefly describes the research development of porphyrins as a photosensitizer applied in PDT, and also highlights the recent progress in the research on bi-functional agents of MRI-PDT. Diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) units are incorporated at a meso-position of the porphyrin ring to synthesize new bi-functional agents of MRI-PDT with sufficient water solubility and high relaxation potency. Gd3+ complexes are prepared by the reaction of the high molecular weight porphyrin-based ligand with GdCl3·6H2O. The longitudinal relaxivity measurement indicates 154% and 251% enhancement compared to that of the widely used MRI contrast agent Gd-DTPA. These results indicate that the two complexes could possibly be used as bi-functional agents of MRI-PDT.

Background Robotic surgery was introduced at our institution in 2003, and we used a progressive approach advancing from simple to more complex procedures. Methods A retrospective chart review. Results Cases included totalled 129. Set-up and operative times have improved over time and with experience. Conversion rates to standard laparoscopic or open techniques were 4.7% and 1.6%, respectively. Intraoperative complications (6.2%), blood loss and hospital stay were directly proportional to complexity. There were no mortalities and the postoperative complication rate (13.2%) was within accepted norms. Conclusion Our findings suggest that robot technology is presently most useful in cases tailored toward its advantages, i.e. those confined to a single space, those that require performance of complex tasks, and re-do procedures. Purpose: To describe a framework for comprehensive web‐based QA in medical physics and radiation oncology through centralized access to multiple databases. We believe that this form of centralized QA represents the future direction for data analysis and visualization in increasingly data‐driven radiation oncology and medical physics practises. Methods and Materials: Our paperless radiation oncology clinic, equipped with a centralized webserver running PERL scripts for access to the Varian ARIA record‐and‐verify database and a custom MySQL database for medical physics QA data, adverse event reports and in‐house clinical trial data. Results: Our planned framework for comprehensive electronic QA is outlined and some early results showing the power of the system for analysingtreatment times and for statistical process control are presented. Conclusions: Comprehensive web‐based QA represents the future direction for data archiving and visualization in the medical physics and radiation oncology community. We present our framework for web‐based QA and demonstrate its power with some early results.
