Primary cranial vault lymphoma with extra- and intracranial extension in an immunocompetent patient is extremely rare. Given its rarity, the optimal management of this entity remains uncertain. We report an atypical case of a 21-year old immunocompetent man, who presented with an 8-month history of enlarging parieto-occipital mass. CT and MR imaging revealed a large mass with extra cranial and cranial components with sagittal sinus involvement. Unusually, angiography showed a significant tumor blush with large feeding vessels. After a pre surgical embolization, the patient underwent a complete tumor resection followed by radio and chemotherapy with satisfactory results.

This manuscript discusses a rare complication of cholecystectomy, hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm (HAPA), which occurs as a result of thermal injury or direct trauma to the arterial wall. The case report of a 72-year-old woman who presented with melena and abdominal pain after a laparoscopic cholecystectomy is described. The patient was diagnosed with a false intrahepatic aneurysm via abdominal ultrasound and confirmed by CT angiography. The signs and symptoms, diagnostic techniques, and management options of HAPA are also discussed. The case was treated by trans femoral coil embolization artery embolization with superselection of the right hepatic artery by microcatheter and complete occlusion. The manuscript highlights the importance of identifying HAPA as a potential complication of cholecystectomy, and the efficacy of endovascular treatment for HAPA.

The Bochdalek hernias is a type of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) that is characterized by the persistence of a diaphragmatic breach. These hernias are most often diagnosed in the perinatal period and are rare in adults. However, acute intestinal obstruction can be a rare revealing mode in adults, and strangulated Bochdalek diaphragmatic hernia is the subject of this article. The article discusses the embryology and pathophysiology of Bochdalek hernias, as well as their clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment. We report a case study of a 25-year-old patient with a chronic pain in the left hypochondrium radiating to the left pulmonary hemifield, which was diagnosed as a strangulated Bochdalek diaphragmatic hernia.

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma refers to a locally aggressive benign vascular tumor composed of vasogenic and myofibroblastic elements, representing between 0.05% and 0.5% of all head and neck tumors. Here, we report a case of a 21-year-old patient with no particular personal or familial pathological history, who presented with recurrent epistaxis and anterior rhinorrhea and headaches for 1 year. Nasofibroscopy revealed a mass filling the entire left nasal cavity, streaked with blood. A face MRI revealed a highly vascularized and lytic nasopharyngeal tumor infiltrating the deep left lateral facial spaces with the beginning of endocranial infiltration, supplied by the homolateral maxillary artery, initially suggestive of a nasopharyngeal fibroma. Preoperative arteriography showed a voluminous vascular blush at the arterial time to the nasopharyngeal projection with branches arising from the left external and internal carotid arteries and multiple arterial shunts (between the left internal and maxillary carotid arteries), thus contradicting embolization. Early diagnosis is important as it is associated with a high risk of morbidity, but advances in imaging and surgical treatment methods have modified the sites associated with high morbidity risk.

Obturator hernia is a rare pelvic hernia with incidence of 1%. It’s a significant cause of intestinal obstruction in emaciated elderly women. Delayed diagnosis and surgical intervention contributed to its relatively high morbidity and mortality. We present a case of an elderly woman with occlusive syndrome. The diagnosis of a strange obturator hernia was confirmed by a spiral CT scan. The bowel was located between the external obturator and pectineal muscles, corresponding to a mechanical obstruction upstream of a right obturator hernia. During the emergency laparotomy, the surgeon performed a gentle reduction of the incarcerated small bowel which was viable and closure of the obturator foramen by plication of the parietal peritoneum. The patient recovered uneventfully and no recurrence occurred during the follow-up. The obturator hernia should be included in the differential diagnosis if clinically suspected. Early diagnosis and prompt surgical treatment are essential to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with obturator hernia.

Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) is a rare histiocytic disorder characterized by the proliferation of non-Langerhans cells within the lymph nodes, and occasionally in extranodal sites. We report a case of RDD presenting as a left jugal swelling in a 43-year-old male. Imaging studies revealed a poorly defined lesion infiltrating the subcutaneous and muscular planes, as well as the maxillary bone. Biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of RDD. Treatment included surgical excision, followed by low-dose radiation therapy. The patient remained asymptomatic during a one-year follow-up.

Cutis Verticis Gyrata-Intellectual Disability (CVG-ID) syndrome is a rare neurocutaneous syndrome characterized by intellectual disability and scalp folds, furrows that are typically absent at birth and are first noticed after puberty. First reported in 1893, the syndrome was mainly identified in subjects living in psychiatric institutions. Most patients were reported in the literature during the first half of the 20th century. CVG-ID is now a less reported and possibly under-recognized syndrome. Here, we report a patient with CVG-ID that was diagnosed using the novel approach of magnetic resonance imaging.

Congenital portosystemic shunt, also known as Abernethy malformation, is a rare vascular malformation in which the portal blood drains towards the systemic circulation eluding the liver. These shunts arise through disturbances that intervene in the embryonic development of the splanchnic circulation, or when elements that are specific to the fetal circulation (especially those regarding the ductus venous) persist beyond the intrauterine life. We present the case of an 23 men years old, followed for ventricular septal defect (VSD) and pulmonary hypertension (PHA), who was addressed to our department to realize a Computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) for suspicion an acute pulmonary embolism (APE) due to a high d-dimer level. This examination does not show direct or indirect signs of pulmonary embolism but on the other hand objective a major pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with cardiomegaly secondary to a portosystemic intrahepatic shunt. An abdominal CT scan was requested in order to detail this vascular malformation and to objectify the presence of the portal trunk by the confluence of the spleno-mesaraic trunk and the inferior mesenteric vein with the demonstration of the communication of the right portal branch with inferior vena cava. Angio-CT should be the performed whenever a vascular malformation is suspected in order to establish a correct diagnosis, because portosystemic shunts carry a high risk of severe complications.

Adamantinoma of long bones is a slow-growing, low-grade primary malignant bone tumor. It is a rare entity and accounts for less than 1% of all primary bone tumors, and in most cases, it occurs in the mid-axis of the tibia of adolescents and young adults. In this report, we describe the case of a 55-year-old woman with a diagnosis of adamantinoma of the left tibia.

Retro-pharyngeal hematoma (SRH) is an unusual condition. It has multiple aetiological factors. The aim of our work is to report through observation the clinical manifestations, the contribution of imagery, in particular the CT scan in the diagnosis. the different etiopathogenic hypotheses as well as the therapeutic modalities of SHR. Our 62-year-old patient urgently consulted for a spontaneous cervical bruise. The various investigations have turned out to be inconclusive. Under surveillance, the development was spontaneously favorable.

Background: Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis (PAM) is a rare but not uncommon disease; it showed worldwide distribution either familial or sporadic, the most reported cases in Europe, especially in Turkey. The presence of round shaped little bodies containing concentric calcareous lamellas in pulmonary alveolus is the hallmark of the disease. With this study, we report a case of PAM in moroccan child, who complained of class 2 exertional dyspnoea with no significant personal or family history. On physical examination, there was no evidence of clubbing or cyanosis of the extremities. On auscultation, fine crackles were present bilaterally. Chest X-ray showed innumerable small dense nodules diffusely involving both lungs. High resolution CT scan showed extensive micro nodules, areas of diffuse ground glass attenuation, septal thickening and in some cases black pleural lines. The diagnosis confirmed by opened right lung biopsy and Broncho alveolar lavage, biopsy showed numerous lamellar (Calculi).

As part of the EAF Nansen Program, three cold-water coral sites have been studied along the West African coast: in Mauritania-Morocco and Ghana/Côte d'Ivoire. The aim was to investigate their health status in contrasting environment to obtain knowledge on the physiological ranges and adaptive capacity to multiple stressors. The used data concerns the landscape, depth, water masses, temperature, dissolved oxygen concentration (DO), carbonate chemistry (pH, aragonite saturation WAr), macronutrients and particles (visual). The results are compared to the health status of other Lophelia pertusa reefs in such contrasting environments. The results show that large healthy reefs of L. pertusa reside off Ghana and Mauritania in the oxygen minimum zone (OMZ) with DO concentrations between 1.1 and 1.6 ml L− 1. They are located in corrosive waters with the lowest pH and WAr and high nutrient levels. The reefs off Morocco reside in waters similar to the Norwegian reefs in well oxygenated waters with oversaturated WAr but was showed to be less healthy (dead) compared to the reefs in the other two sites that resided in the OMZ. This study demonstrates that L. pertusa thrives in OMZ and corrosive aragonite waters, suggesting local adaptation to these conditions and supporting recommendations to continue research work on the same species in contrasting environments for potential effects of climate change.

The determination of the monthly variations of the ocean mixed layer depth (MLD), in relationship with upwelling and filament is important in a climate change perspective. This paper presents a monthly change of the mixed layer properties, temperature, salinity, oxygen and fluorescence, to provide a better understanding of the relationship between upwelling, filament and the monthly variability of the MLD in the cape Ghir region latitude 31°N in Moroccan Atlantic coast. Firstly, we compared the MLD using the threshold method and the gradient method of temperature and density from CTD profiles in-situ data. Secondly, we observed the activity of upwelling variability in the region by satellite data. In the other hand, we used monthly mean seawater velocity from Mercator model to identify the filament structure. The general pattern of the in-situ MLD varies between 20m in summer and 150m in winter as the MLD variability derived from Mercator model. The deepest MLD occur in December and February, it coincides with a weak activity of upwelling. During April, June and August, the mixed layer is shallow, accompanied with a high activity of upwelling filament. In October, the mixed layer was deeper following a persistent activity of upwelling.

SCN8Aepileptic encephalopathy is a devastating epilepsy syndrome caused by mutantSCN8Awhich encodes the voltage-gated sodium channel NaV1.6. To date, it is unclear if and how inhibitory interneurons, which express NaV1.6, influence disease pathology. We found that selective expression of the R1872W mutation in somatostatin (SST) interneurons was sufficient to convey susceptibility to audiogenic seizures. SST interneurons from mutant mice were hyperexcitable but hypersensitive to action potential failure via depolarization block under normal and seizure-like conditions. Remarkably, GqDREADD-mediated activation of wild-type SST interneurons resulted in prolonged electrographic seizures and was accompanied by SST hyperexcitability and depolarization block. Aberrantly large persistent sodium currents, a hallmark ofSCN8Amutations, were observed and were found to contribute directly to aberrant SST physiology in computational and pharmacological experiments. These novel findings demonstrate a critical and previously unidentified contribution of SST interneurons to seizure generation not only inSCN8Aencephalopathy, but epilepsy in general.

We present a class of phononic crystals for ultrasonic opacity. This composite membrane composed of a host plate made of silicon in which the unit cell describes a sub-wavelength quarter-wave resonator embedded in water. The finite element simulations have shown that such acoustic metamaterial constitutes an ambitious category of ultrasonic insulator providing a deep and wide attenuation in the transmission spectrum. This attenuation reaches −30 dB in a 66% relative bandwidth.

Thesis subject: uterine carcinosarcomas.Uterine carcinosarcomas or malignant mixed Muller tumors are rare and aggressive tumors, with poor prognosis, and represent less than 5% of all malignant tumors of the uterine body.These tumors are twice as frequent in black patients as in white ones. Purpose: This study aims to specify the epidemiological characteristics of our patients, to identify the diagnostic problem, clinical as well as radiological, and discuss the therapeutic management. Material And Methods: This is a retrospective study of nine cases of patients who were treated between 2013 and 2016 at the Department of Gynecologyand Obstetrics 1 at Hassan University Hospital Center 2. Results:The average age of our patients ranges from 50 to 80 years with an average age of 65 years. Of the nine patients, 95% are large multiparous, and all are menopausal. All our patients consulted for postmenopausal metrorrhagia with pelvicpain. Paraclinically, we performed a pelvic ultrasound in all patients, whose resultswere in favor of an increase in the size of the uterus, with the presence in endocavity of a heterogeneous echogenic image that invades the myometrium in places. A pelvic MRI showed in the nine cases, a voluminous endo-uterine process, with heterogeneous enhancement after contrast. The patients benefited from adiagnostic hysteroscopy with biopsy that favored a uterine carcinosarcoma. All ourpatients received surgical treatment, except for 2 patients who were found be inoperable and sent for radiotherapy. The pathological analysis was in favor of amalignant mixed malignant tumor associating carcinoma and endometrial stromalsarcoma with invasion of more than 50 of the my ometrium. In the nine cases, fivepatients were referred oncology, to receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy, a patient was scheduled postoperatively for chemotherapy, but died twenty days after the intervention. The other patients have been lost. Conclusion: Uterine carcinosarcomas are rare aggressive tumors that have been the subject of little study. First-line treatment will be surgical. Adjuvant chemotherapy has shown interest in this type of tumor. The place of radiotherapy remains to be discussed.

Resume But Evaluer retrospectivement la capacite des differentes methodes d’evaluation de la taille des calculs urinaires, par tomodensitometrie, a predire le succes de l’ureteroscopie souple (URSS). Materiel Soixante-sept patients admis pour premier traitement endoscopique d’au moins un calcul renal mis en evidence par tomodensitometrie abdominale ont ete revus. A ete etudiee la relation entre l’absence de fragment residuel apres URSS et la charge lithiasique evaluee selon : le diametre maximal (DM), la surface calculee (SC), le volume calcule (VC1 et VC2), le diametre cumule (DC), les volumes tridimensionnels total (V3Dt) et maximal (V3Dm) ; au moyen de courbes ROC et par regression logistique uni- et multivariee. Resultats Toutes les mesures radiologiques etudiees predisent efficacement l’absence de fragment residuel significatif apres URSS. Aucune difference significative n’a ete observee entre les aires sous la courbe (AUC) correspondant aux differentes mesures radiologiques. Conclusion L’evaluation de la taille des calculs urinaires est essentielle dans l’estimation de la probabilite de succes d’une URSS. Notre etude rapporte une capacite comparable des differentes mesures tomodensitometriques disponibles, qu’elles soient planaires ou volumetriques. Si les mesures volumetriques semblent plus precises et plus reproductibles, la mesure du diametre maximal reste la plus simple d’utilisation et la plus facilement accessible dans la pratique clinique quotidienne. Les tumeurs endocrines fonctionnelles du pancréas sont des lésions rares, parmi lesquelles les insulinomes sont les plus fréquents. La majorité des patients atteints d'insulinome ont entre 30 et 60 ans et 59% d'entre eux sont des femmes. La plupart des insulinomes sont sporadiques, alors que 10% sont développés chez des patients atteints de NEM. Le diagnostic repose sur la clinique et sur le bilan biologique. Le bilan d'imagerie préopératoire (Echo-endoscopie, TDM, IRM) est essentiel localisant la tumeur dans plus de 80% des cas. Le traitement de référence est l'exérèse chirurgicale de la tumeur. Nous rapportons ici un cas d'insulinome de haut grade développé sur la face antérieure de la queue du pancréas chez une patiente de 50 ans.

To retrospectively assess the clinical utility in ureteroscopy (URS) planning of radiological parameters as predictor of stone-free status after a single flexible ureteroscopy.Sixty-seven patients with renal stones treated by flexible URS were retrospectively evaluated. To assess the clinical utility of radiological parameters, relationships between stone-free (SF) status and stone burden (maximal diameter, calculated area, calculated volume, cumulative diameter, and tridimentionnal volume [V3D]) were analyzed using the area under the receiver operating characteristics curve and logistic regression.Maximal diameter (AUC=0.75), calculated area (AUC 0.79), calculated volume (AUC=0.79), cumulative diameter (AUC=0.80) and tridimensional volume (AUC=0.82) revealed ability to predict SF status after URS.Stone burden evaluation is critical in predicting SF status after a single URS. Planar and volumetric measurements showed equal ability to predict SF status. V3D is more accurate but diameter measurement remains easier in clinical practice.4.

3 ABSTRACT: In this work, the decolorization of Methyl Orange was conducted using catalysts prepared by impregnation of copper on natural clay in the presence of H2O2. The catalysts Cu-clay, prepared from the concentrated metal precursor of (impregnation ratio, W(Cu(NO3)2)/W(clay) = 1,5%-7,5%) were characterized by several methods such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), electronic scan microscopy (SEM), x-ray fluorescence (FX), and Brunauer-Emmett- Teller (BET). Important factors affecting catalyst activity and methyl orange removal efficiencies were studied: the effects of temperature, oxidant concentration, and catalyst dosage. The results showed, a very significant activation of hydrogen peroxide by the catalyst, the Methyl Orange depletion percentage reaching 94 % after 2 h, and very stability of the catalyst. It was also observed that the best catalyst, at a reaction temperature of 25°C. 2,5ml of H2O2 and 4.0 g/L of 5% Cu-clay, 94% decolorization was achieved within 120 min treatment. Although the Cu show high activity, their stability and reusability still need improvement.

This article presents two aspects environnementals: valorization of oil shale ash (OSA) of oil industry on the one hand, and on the other hand to study the effectiveness of cation adsorption of dye such as the Methylene blue (BM) on material (OSA).In this context, we carried out a parametric study of adsorption, in particular, the time of contact, the pH, the amount of the adsorbent, the temperature and the stirring velocity. A study of the kinetics of adsorption was carried out by two models: pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order, and a modeling by the isotherms of adsorption while basing itself on the models of Langmuir and Frendlich. The maximum capacity of adsorption of BM on OSA is of 2,464 mg/g, for a concentration of BM of 5 mg/L, an amount of adsorbent of 2 g/L. Material OSA was characterized by several methods such as diffraction of x-ray (DRX), electronic scan microscopy (MEB), electronic microscopy in transmission (MET), x-ray fluorescence (FX), and the infra-red Spectroscopy with transforms of Fourier (FTIR). In addition, the economic aspect of the use of OSA makes important the re-use of these materials considering their capacity to regenerate itself.

This is the first study on zooplankton in Dakhla Bay that focused on the assessment of the spatial and temporal variations in copepod communities and the relationship with the environmental variables during three oceanographic surveys conducted in winters 2012, 2013 and 2016. The zooplankton community was diverse and dominated by copepods representing more than 80% of total zooplankton. Thirty copepod species were identified with Acartia clausi, Euterpina acutifrons and Oithona nana the most common and abundant species. Ten species were ranked as dominant species and their abundance accounted for more than 85% of the total abundance of copepods. The highest copepods abundance was recorded in February 2012 and February 2013 whose averages were 1258 ± 2897 and 4164 ± 5604 ind m−3, respectively, while the lowest abundances were recorded in 2016 (average 293 ± 380 ind m−3). The diversity of the copepod community of Dakhla Bay varied between 0.96 and 2.80 bits individual−1 and the species richness showed a positive gradient from the upstream to the downstream area following the inverse gradient of salinity, particularly in 2013. CCA results revealed a strong relationship between copepod species and studied environmental parameters (temperature, salinity and chlorophyll-a) and justified the apparition of some species such as Acartia tonsa, Calocalanus pavo and Nanocalanus minor in 2016 where highest temperatures were recorded.

Resume La frequence des manifestations neuropsychiatriques lors du lupus erythemateux dissemine varie selon les series entre 14 et 75 %. L’imagerie par resonance magnetique reste l’examen de choix et les lesions encephaliques sont dominees par des hypersignaux punctiformes de la substance blanche. Nous rapportons le cas d’une patiente de 17 ans sans antecedent particulier qui a presente brutalement un acces psychotique aigu avec fievre. L’examen neurologique a objective un syndrome pyramidal. L’IRM encephalique a revele des hypersignaux diffus de la substance blanche et grise, bilateraux et symetriques. Le diagnostic de neurolupus a ete retenu devant l’association des troubles neuropsychiatriques, une anemie, une lymphopenie, une pleuresie et des anticorps antinucleaires positifs. Le traitement etait a base de bolus de methylprednisolone puis relais par une corticotherapie orale. La patiente est decedee un mois et demi apres le debut de sa maladie. Le diagnostic de neurolupus doit etre evoque systematiquement devant un tableau neuropsychiatrique atypique surtout devant des anomalies minimes du bilan biologique ou de l’imagerie cerebrale.
