One of the essential requirements for tourism enterprises to survive and increase their profitability by increasing their occupancy rates is to meet customer expectations through the services they render. A customer whose expectations have been met means a positive advertising tool for enterprises and a customer who will come again. Service quality, which is the most crucial factor in meeting customer expectations, is vital for enterprises. The present study was conducted to measure the difference between expectations and perceptions of service quality, therefore perceived service quality of foreign tourists visiting Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. The study was conducted with 408 tourists staying in the hotels most preferred by tourists in Kyrenia, Fagamusta and Bafra Regions. Survey technique was used as the data collection method. The difference between the service quality expected by the tourists and the service quality perceived by them after their experience was measured using the SERVQUAL scale. The data obtained were transferred to the computer, and a database was created; the results were then presented through various statistical analyses. The study concludes that the level of perceived service quality was below the level of expected service quality.

Özellikle internetin yaygınlaşması ile bilgiye daha kolay ulaşılabilmesi, havayolu ulaşım ağlarının genişleyerek tüm dünyaya yayılması ve havayolu ulaşımı fiyatlarının makul seviyelere inerek fiyat açısından kolay ulaşılabilir hale gelmesi turistlerin özel ilgilerine yönelik seyahat etme motivasyonlarını ve taleplerini artırmıştır. Özel ilgi alanına dayalı alternatif turizm kapsamında değerlendirilen hüzün turizmi, son yıllarda dünyada ve ülkemizde hızla gelişmekte, turistlerin ilgisini çekmektedir. İki toplum arasında IXX. Yüzyılın sonlarından 1974 yılına kadar süren şiddetli ve kanlı çatışmalara sahne olan Kıbrıs, hüzün turizmi açısından önemli bir potansiyeli topraklarında barındırmaktadır. Araştırmada, KKTC’nin Milli Mücadele Dönemi’nden miras kalan hüzün turizmi envanteri tespit edilmeye çalışılmış, araştırma sadece Milli Mücadele Dönemi ile sınırlı tutulmuştur. Envanterin ortaya konulabilmesi için ölçüt olarak, Seaton (1996) ve Stone’un (2006) hüzün turizmi sınıflandırmaları kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, KKTC’nin sahip olduğu hüzün turizmi potansiyelinin ülke ekonomisine daha fazla gelir sağlayabilecek potansiyelde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. KKTC’deki hüzün turizmi destinasyonları, dünyadaki örnekleri gibi düzenlenerek, gerekli tanıtım ve yatırımlar yapıldığı takdirde, turistik destinasyon haline gelerek, turist sayısının ve turizm gelirlerinin artmasını sağlayacaktır.

Degisen tuketici ihtiyac ve istekleri tuketicilerin disarida yemek yeme nedenlerini de degistirmistir. Tuketicilerin hangi nedenlerle disarida yemek yediginin bilinmesi isletmelerin kendini konumlandirmasi, hedef pazarini belirlemesi, sunacagi urun ve hizmetleri hedef kitlesine gore belirleyip cesitlendirmesi isletmenin karliligi, surdurulebilirligi ve musteri memnuniyeti acisindan onem arz eden stratejik bilgilerdir. Bu onemden yola cikarak arastirmada tuketicilerin disarida yemek yeme nedenleri ve bu nedenlerin siralamasi ile demografik degiskenler arasinda fark olup olmadigi tespit edilmeye calisilmistir. Arastirma anketle veri toplama teknigi ile 410 katilimciya anket uygulamak sureti gerceklestirilmistir. Elde edilen veriler frekans, yuzde dagilimi ve siralama islemlerine tabi tutulmustur. Arastirma sonucunda, Aileyle Birlikte Olmak, Arkadaslarla Birlikte Olmak, Degisik Bir Ortamda Olma Istegi, Kisisel Ozel Gun Kutlamasi, Sosyallesmek, Eglenmek, Farkli Tatlar Deneme Istegi, Geleneksel Ozel Gun Kutlamasi, Cocuklarin Istemesi, Yemek Yapacak Zaman Olmamasi ilk on sirada yer alan disarida yemek yeme nedenleri oldugu ve bu nedenlerin demografik degiskenlere gore farkliliklar gosterdigi tespit edilmistir.

Ülkemizin önemli gelir kalemlerinden biri olan turizm gelirlerini yukarı çekmenin en önemli yollarından biri, hizmet kalitesini yüksek seviyede tutarak müşteri tatminini gerçekleştirmek, bu tatminin neticesinde müşterinin tekrar gelmesini ve çevresine gelmesi için tavsiyede bulunmasını sağlamaktır. İşletme bazlı düşündüğümüzde işletmeden tatmin olarak ayrılmış her müşteri potansiyel yeni müşteri ve yeni bir pazarlama kanalı demektir. Günümüzde özellikle internet ortamlarında işletmeler hakkında yapılan olumlu ve olumsuz görüşler müşterilerin satın alma kararında oldukça etkilidir. Müşterilerin bu görüşlerini herkesin kolayca görebileceği şekilde yapıp yayabilmesi müşteri tatminini daha da önemli hale getirmektedir. Tatmin olan her müşteri yapacağı pozitif yorumlarla işletmenin imajına olumlu yönde etkilerken, tatmin olmayan her müşteri de negatif yorumlarla işletmenin imajını olumsuz yönde etkileyecektir. Müşteri tatmininin en önemli sağlayıcısı olan hizmet kalitesi ülke turizmi ve turizm işletmeleri açısından hayati öneme sahiptir. Yabancı turistlerin hizmet kalitesi algısını ölçmeyi amaçlayan bu araştırma, Türkiye’de yabancı turistlerin en fazla geceleme yaptığı dört destinasyon olan Antalya, Muğla, İstanbul ve Aydın’daki otel işletmelerinde konaklayan 462 yabancı turist üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada, turistlerin deneyim öncesi bekledikleri hizmet kalitesi ile deneyim sonrası algıladıkları hizmet kalitesi arasındaki farklılık ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri Türkiye’yi ziyaret eden yabancı turistlerden elde edilmiştir. Araştırma örneklem grubu olarak Türkiye’ye gelen yabancı turistlerin yaklaşık % 42’sini oluşturan ve sayı olarak ilk 4 sırayı alan Alman, İngiliz, Rus ve Hollandalı Turistler seçilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler, bilgisayar ortamına aktarılarak veri tabanı oluşturulmuş ve çeşitli istatistiksel analizlere tabi tutulmuştur. Milliyet değişkenine göre beklenti ve algı aritmetik ortalamaları değerlendirildiğinde; beklenti aritmetik ortalamasının en yüksek Hollandalı Turistlerin, en düşük Alman turistlerin, algı aritmetik ortalamasının ise en yüksek Rus Turistlerin; en düşük İngiliz turistlerin sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Diğer yandan beklenti ve algı aritmetik ortalamaları farkları açısından en düşük farkın Alman Turistlerde, en yüksek farkın Hollandalı Turistlerde olduğu görülmektedir. Tüm bu sonuçlar ışığında araştırmaya katılan turistlerin bekledikleri hizmet kalitesi ile algıladıkları hizmet kalitesi arasında milliyetlerine göre farklılaşma olup olmadığına bakılmış olup anlamlı bir farklılaşma olduğu tespit edilmiştir. One of the best and the most important ways of increasing tourism income of our country is to supply guest satisfaction by maintaining service quality always high thereby cause the guests to visit our country again and also cause them to recommend Turkey to their friends and relatives. Tourism income is one of the most important revenue items of Turkey. When it is considered as business oriented, every tourist that left tourist facility in satisfaction means potentially new guests and a new means of marketing. In today’s world, both positive and negative remarks about tourist facility on internet affect guest decisions of buying a holiday. Possibilities of revealing those remarks freely make guest satisfaction more and more important. While satisfied guests’ remarks affect the image of tourist facility in positive ways, unsatisfied guests’ negative remarks would affect the image of the facility negatively. Service quality as the most important side of guest satisfaction is vital for tourist facilities and tourism income of the country. This survey which aims to assess the service quality perception of the foreign tourists was applied to 462 foreign tourists who accommodated in hotels in Antalya, Mugla, İstanbul and Aydın regions that foreign tourists mostly prefer to accommodate in Turkey. The difference between the expectations of the tourists before the accommodation and their perception after the accommodation were evaluated. The data were gotten only from 462 of the foreign tourists that visited Turkey. Sample group consist of German, British, Russian and Dutch tourists that constitute 42% of all foreign tourists of Turkey and comes within the first four. The data that obtained from the survey were transferred to the computer and various statistical analyses were applied to that data bank. When the expectation and perception arithmetic average is evaluated, it is seen that highest arithmetic average of expectation is among Dutch tourists and lowest is among German tourists while the highest arithmetic average of perception is among Russian tourists and lowest among British tourists. On the other hand, when the difference between arithmetic average of expectation and arithmetic average of perception is taken in the consideration, it is seen that the lowest difference is among German tourists and the highest difference is among Dutch tourists. Within the light of those results it can be seen that there is a meaningful difference between the expected service quality and perceived service quality of the tourists according to their nationality.

The aim of this study where the descriptive research method was used was to determine the dining out habits of families with children under the age of 12 living in Turkey. The research data was collected through survey forms. The survey form was comprised of two sections. In the first part there are 8 questions regarding demographic information of the parents who participated in the study and of their children. In the second part, there are 18 questions asked to determine the participants’ perspective on the phenomenon of eating out with their children. The 488 parents’ survey forms being complete and filled out as instructed were considered. The parents whose survey forms were included in the evaluation have 805 children. A database was established on the computer with the answers of the participants and the obtained data was subjected to frequency, percentage distribution, weight calculation and sorting operations and interpreted in terms of the purpose of the study. According to the results of the study, the frequency of dining out decreases after families have children. The families mostly dine out on special occasions. The families mostly prefer restaurants offering meals such as doner kebab, kebab, pide when they go out. The families interfere with their children’s meal orders in order to ensure that their children consume healthier food and beverages. The families give up the decision to eat out mostly because of the lack of appropriate meals for their children’s age and taste palate. The physical conditions being unsuitable for children is another reason decreasing willingness to eat out. It has been determined that the effect of a child request on the selection of a catering enterprise is 81.35%. 79.30% of the participants stated that they could be willing to pay more if it were the case that their children were happier, they could eat healthy food and they could be more comfortable themselves with the provided service. The ratio generated by the result of the participants’ answers to the question what would be the rate that you would be willing to pay more was found to be 50.08%.

Bu önemden yola çıkarak araştırmada tüketicilerin dışarıda yemek yeme nedenleri ve bu nedenlerin sıralaması ile demografik değişkenler arasında fark olup olmadığı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. The data essential for the study weregathered from 410 participants utilizing a questionnaire. The gathered data wereanalyzed for frequency and descriptive statistics. The findings of the studyhas posed that the first ten motives for eating out are respectively; the need forbeing with family, being with friends, being in a different atmosphere,celebrating a special day, socialization, having fun, trying different tastes,celebrating traditional special days, demands of the kids and having no timefor cooking and also, demographic variables have a significant effect on these reasons.

Otel işletmeleri ayakta kalabilmek ve daha yüksek bir kârlılık oranıyla çalışmak istiyorlarsa, ellerindeki kaynakları en iyi şekilde kullanarak verimliliklerini arttırma gayreti içerisinde olmalıdırlar. Günümüzde gelişen teknolojiyle beraber; hammadde, enerji, makina-teçhizat vb. üretim faktörlerinde yüksek bir verimlilik oranına ulaşılmıştır. Ancak, otel işletmeleri; mal, hizmet üretim ve sunumunun merkezinde yer alan mevcut işgücünden tam anlamıyla yararlanamamaktadırlar. Bunun en önemli nedenlerinden biri işletme sahiplerinin ve yöneticilerinin çalışanların verimini arttırmada önemli bir etken olan psiko-sosyal motivasyon araçlarından gereğince yararlanmadıklarıdır. Bu çalışmada; otel işletmelerinde çalışanların verimliliğini arttırmaya yönelik psiko-sosyal motivasyon araçlarının tespiti ve bu araçların farklı departmanlarda çalışanlar açısından nasıl algılandığı irdelenmiştir. Konuyla ilgili olarak; Ankara ve İzmir’deki otel işletmelerinde çalışan işgörenlere anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, psiko-sosyal motivasyon araçları ile işgörenlerin verimliliği arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki ve güçlü bir bağ olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır
