Search

Complex Organic Molecules (COMs) have been found toward low-mass protostars but the origins of the COM emission are still unclear. It can be associated with, for example, hot corinos, outflows, and/or accretion shock/disk atmosphere. We have conducted NOEMA observations toward SVS13A from the PROtostars & DIsks: Global Evolution (PRODIGE) program. Our previous \ce{DCN} observations reveal a possible infalling streamer, which may affect the chemistry of the central protobinary by inducing accretion outbursts and/or shocked gas. Here, we further analyze six O-bearing COMs: CH3OH, aGg'-(CH2OH)2, C2H5OH, CH2(OH)CHO, CH3CHO, and CH3OCHO. Although the COM emission is not spatially resolved, we constrain the source sizes to $\lesssim0.3-0.4$ arcsec (90$-$120 au) by conducting uv-domain Gaussian fitting. Interestingly, the high-spectral resolution data reveal complex line profiles with multiple peaks showing differences between these six O-bearing COMs. The LTE fitting unveils differences in excitation temperatures and emitting areas among these COMs. We further conduct multiple-velocity-component LTE fitting to decompose the line emission into different kinematic components. Up to 6 velocity components are found from the LTE modeling. The temperature, column density, and source size of these components from each COM are obtained. We find a variety in excitation temperatures ($100-500$ K) and source sizes (D$\sim10-70$ au) from these kinematic components from different COMs. The emission of each COM can trace several components and different COMs most likely trace different regions. Given this complex structure, we suggest that the central region is inhomogeneous and unlikely to be heated by only protostellar radiation. We are performing a line survey of 8 planet-forming Class II disks in Taurus with the IRAM NOrthern Extended Millimeter Array (NOEMA), as a part of the MPG-IRAM Observatory Program PRODIGE (PROtostars and DIsks: Global Evolution; PIs: P. Caselli and Th. Henning). Compact and extended disks around T Tauri stars CI, CY, DG, DL, DM, DN, IQ Tau, and UZ Tau E are observed in ~80 lines from >20 C-, O,- N-, and S-bearing species. The observations in four spectral settings at 210-280 GHz with $1\sigma$ rms sensitivity of ~ 8-12 mJy/beam at 0.9" and 0.3 km/s resolution will be completed in 2024. The uv-visibilities are fitted with the DiskFit model to obtain key stellar and disk properties. In this paper, the combined $^{12}$CO, $^{13}$CO and C$^{18}$O $J = 2-1$ data are presented. We find that the CO fluxes and disk masses inferred from dust continuum tentatively correlate with the CO emission sizes. We constrain dynamical stellar masses, geometries, temperatures, the CO column densities and gas masses for each disk. The best-fit temperatures at 100 au are ~ 17-37 K, and decrease radially with the power-law exponent q ~ 0.05-0.76. The inferred CO column densities decrease radially with the power-law exponent p ~ 0.2-3.1. The gas masses estimated from $^{13}$CO (2-1) are ~ $0.001-0.2 M_\textrm{Sun}$. The best-fit CO column densities point to severe CO freeze-out in the disks. The DL Tau disk is an outlier, and has either stronger CO depletion or lower gas mass than the rest of the sample. Aims. We present high sensitivity and high-spectral resolution NOEMA observations of the Class 0/I binary system SVS13A, composed of the low-mass protostars VLA4A and VLA4B with a separation of ~90 au. VLA4A is undergoing an accretion burst that enriches the chemistry of the surrounding gas. This gives us an excellent opportunity to probe the chemical and physical conditions as well as the accretion process. Methods. We observe the (12K-11K) lines of CH3CN and CH313CN, the DCN (3-2) line, and the C18O (2-1) line toward SVS13A using NOEMA. Results. We find complex line profiles at disk scales which cannot be explained by a single component or pure Keplerian motion. By adopting two velocity components to model the complex line profiles, we find that the temperatures and densities are significantly different between these two components. This suggests that the physical conditions of the emitting gas traced via CH3CN can change dramatically within the circumbinary disk. In addition, combining our observations of DCN (3-2) with previous ALMA high-angular-resolution observations, we find that the binary system (or VLA4A) might be fed by an infalling streamer from envelope scales (~700 au). If this is the case, this streamer contributes to the accretion of material onto the system with a rate of at least 1.4x10-6 Msun yr-1. Conclusions. We conclude that the CH3CN emission in SVS13A traces hot gas from a complex structure. The giant molecular cloud Sagittarius B2 (hereafter SgrB2) is the most massive region with ongoing high-mass star formation in the Galaxy. In the southern region of the 40-pc large envelope of SgrB2, we encounter the SgrB2(DS) region which hosts more than 60 high-mass protostellar cores distributed in an arc shape around an extended HII region. We use the Very Large Array in its CnB and D configurations, and in the frequency bands C (4--8 GHz) and X (8--12 GHz) to observe the whole SgrB2 complex. Continuum and radio recombination line maps are obtained. We detect radio continuum emission in SgrB2(DS) in a bubble-shaped structure. From 4 to 12 GHz, we derive a spectral index between -1.2 and -0.4, indicating the presence of non-thermal emission. We decompose the contribution from thermal and non-thermal emission, and find that the thermal component is clumpy and more concentrated, while the non-thermal component is more extended and diffuse. The radio recombination lines in the region are found to be not in local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) but stimulated by the non-thermal emission. The thermal free-free emission is likely tracing an HII region ionized by an O7 star, while the non-thermal emission can be generated by relativistic electrons created through first-order Fermi acceleration. We model the emission of methyl cyanide (CH3CN) lines towards the massive hot molecular core SgrB2(M). We aim at reconstructing the CH3CN abundance field and investigating the gas temperature distribution as well as the velocity field. SgrB2(M) was observed with the ALMA in a spectral line survey from 211 to 275 GHz. This frequency range includes several transitions of CH3CN (including isotopologues and vibrationally excited states). We employ the three-dimensional radiative transfer toolbox Pandora in order to retrieve the velocity and abundance field by modeling different CH3CN lines. For this purpose, we base our model on the results of a previous study that determined the physical structure of SgrB2(M), i.e.\ the distribution of dust dense cores, ionized regions and heating sources. The morphology of the CH3CN emission can be reproduced by a molecular density field that consists of a superposition of cores with modified Plummer-like density profiles. The averaged relative abundance of CH3CN with respect to H2 ranges from 4x10^{-11} to 2x10^{-8} in the northern part of SgrB2(M) and from 2x10^{-10} to 5x10^{-7} in the southern part. In general, we find that the relative abundance of CH3CN is lower at the center of the very dense and hot cores, causing the general morphology of the CH3CN emission to be shifted with respect to the dust continuum emission. The dust temperature calculated by the radiative transfer simulation based on the available luminosity reaches values up to 900 K. However, in some regions vibrationally excited transitions of CH3CN are underestimated by the model, indicating that the predicted gas temperature, which is assumed to be equal to the dust temperature, is partly underestimated. The high-mass star forming sites SgrB2(M) and SgrB2(N) have been the target of numerous studies, revealing e.g. a rich chemistry. We want to characterize their physical and chemical structure using ALMA high-angular resolution observations at mm wavelengths, reaching spatial scales of about 4000 au, and covering the whole band 6 (from 211 to 275 GHz). In order to determine the continuum emission in line-rich sources, we use a new statistical method: STATCONT. We detect 27 continuum sources in SgrB2(M) and 20 in SgrB2(N). We study the continuum emission across the ALMA band 6, and compare it with previous SMA 345 GHz and VLA 40 GHz observations, to study the nature of the sources detected. The brightest sources are dominated by (partially optically thick) dust emission, while there is an important degree of contamination from ionized gas free-free emission in weaker sources. While the total mass in SgrB2(M) is distributed in many fragments, most of the mass in SgrB2(N) arises from a single object, with filamentary-like structures converging towards the center. There seems to be a lack of low-mass dense cores in both regions. We determine H2 volume densities for the cores of about 10^5-10^7 Msun pc^-3, one to two orders of magnitude higher than the stellar densities of super star clusters. In general, SgrB2(N) is chemically richer than SgrB2(M). There seems to be a correlation between the chemical richness and the mass of the fragments, with more massive clumps being more chemically rich. Both SgrB2(N) and SgrB2(M) harbour a cluster of hot molecular cores. We compare the continuum images with predictions from a detailed 3D radiative transfer model that reproduces the structure of SgrB2 from 45 pc down to 100 au. Almost 200 different species have been detected in the interstellar medium (ISM) during the last decades, revealing not only simple species but complex molecules with more than 6 atoms. Other exotic compounds, like the weakly-bound dimer (H2)2, have also been detected in astronomical sources like Jupiter. We aim at detecting for the first time the CO-H2 van der Waals complex in the ISM, which if detected can be a sensitive indicator for low temperatures. We use the IRAM30m telescope, located in Pico Veleta (Spain), to search for the CO-H2 complex in a cold, dense core in TMC-1C (with a temperature of 10 K). All the brightest CO-H2 transitions in the 3 mm (80-110 GHz) band have been observed with a spectral resolution of 0.5-0.7 km/s, reaching a rms noise level of 2 mK. The simultaneous observation of a broad frequency band, 16 GHz, has allowed us to conduct a serendipitous spectral line survey. No lines belonging to the CO-H2 complex have been detected. We have set up a new, more stringent upper limit for its abundance to be [CO-H2]/[CO] = 5x10^{-6}, while we expect the abundance of the complex to be in the range 10^{-8}-10^{-3}. The spectral line survey has allowed us to detect 75 lines associated with 41 different species (including isotopologues). We detect a number of complex organic species, e.g. methyl cyanide (CH3CN), methanol (CH3OH), propyne (CH3CCH) and ketene (CH2CO), associated with cold gas (excitation temperatures about 7 K), confirming the presence of these complex species not only in warm objects but also in cold regimes., Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables. We model the dust and free-free continuum emission in the high-mass star-forming region Sagittarius B2 in order to reconstruct the three-dimensional density and dust temperature distribution, as a crucial input to follow-up studies of the gas velocity field and molecular abundances. We employ the three-dimensional radiative transfer program RADMC-3D to calculate the dust temperature self-consistently, provided a given initial density distribution. This density distribution of the entire cloud complex is then recursively reconstructed based on available continuum maps, including both single-dish and high-resolution interferometric maps covering a wide frequency range (40 GHz - 4 THz). The model covers spatial scales from 45 pc down to 100 au, i.e. a spatial dynamic range of 10^5. We find that the density distribution of Sagittarius B2 can be reasonably well fitted by applying a superposition of spherical cores with Plummer-like density profiles. In order to reproduce the spectral energy distribution, we position Sgr B2(N) along the line of sight behind the plane containing Sgr B2(M). We find that the entire cloud complex comprises a total gas mass of 8.0 x 10^6 Msun within a diameter of 45 pc, corresponding to an averaged gas density of 170 Msun/pc^3. We estimate stellar masses of 2400 Msun and 20700 Msun and luminosities of 1.8 x 10^6 Lsun and 1.2 x 10^7 Lsun for Sgr B2(N) and Sgr B2(M), respectively. We report H_2 column densities of 2.9 x 10^24 cm^-2 for Sgr B2(N) and 2.5 x 10^24 cm^-2 for Sgr B2(M) in a 40" beam. For Sgr B2(S), we derive a stellar mass of 1100 Msun, a luminosity of 6.6 x 10^5 Lsun and a H_2 column density of 2.2 x 10^24 cm^-2 in a 40" beam. We calculate a star formation efficiency of 5% for Sgr B2(N) and 50% for Sgr B2(M), indicating that most of the gas content in Sgr B2(M) has already been converted to stars or dispersed., Comment: Accepted for publication in A&A. 30 pages, 24 figures, 6 tables
