- Abstract
Objective: To determine the impact of different specialized family issues journals indexed in Scopus according to SJR database from 1999 to 2018. Methodology: The selected journals were categorized according to their content in four groups: "medical" journals that publish family health or reproductive health issues; "social" journals that address the family from a legal, historical or sociological perspective; "psychological" journals that publish family issues from the clinical, social or educational psychology perspective; and the group of "financial or economic" journals that address the family from its consumption habits, family economy or business strategies. To determine its impact, this study assesses: the SJR prestige measurement factor, the H index and the number of citations per document in the last two years using the R software version 3.6.1 through the sjrdata version 0.2.0 package. Results: In general terms, the most ranked journals are those in the social area. Likewise, the medical areas host the largest number of journals. On the other hand, the United States and the United Kingdom account for approximately 50% of family magazines in the world. Conclusions: Through this research, various researchers specialized in the area of family will be able to identify the most eligible journals to publish considering their reputation and academic impact. The primary goal of this research study is to measure and compare quality service metrics between light communication technology (Li-Fi), wired connection (Gigabit-Ethernet), and 2.4Hz wireless connection (Wi-Fi). Upload speed, packet download, and real time video are measured by using transfer tools and are monitored with specialized software. The results show stability in throughput and bandwidth for Li-Fi (23 Mbps), Gigabit-Ethernet (17 to 19 Mbps), and Wi-Fi (19 to 24 Mbps). Measured speeds are 6.6 to 6.9 Mbps for Li-Fi, 17 to 19 Mbps for Gigabit-Ethernet, and 19 to 24 Mbps for Wi-Fi. Power values differed by 11W between technologies. In conclusion, Li-Fi improves service quality without metric (throughput and bandwidth) oscillations in local networks, but with the caveat of consuming more power. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The goal of this paper is to show how different aspects of meter, such as syllable count, rhyme and rhythmic patterns, can be used to obtain information about linguistic variation during earlier periods. The study analyses certain formal variants in the poems of Ausiàs March (1400-1459) which serve to meet the metric requirements of the line. Regarding syllable count, we focus on the treatment of vowel sequences with decreasing sonority as hiatuses or diphthongs: despite the overwhelming majority of hiatuses, the data suggest that some modern-day constraints were already active in March's time, such as the tendency to avoid diphthongs in vowel sequences close to the main stress. Rhyme and rhythm may also indicate the correct pronunciation and spelling for some dubious words, such as the quality of mid vowels or the stress location in doublets like ésser~esser 'to be'. Finally, the analysis of rhythm reveals the need for a certain relativity in the concept of tonicity due to the behaviour of rhythmically ambiguous elements, including the relative què 'which'. In this case, though, the information also flows in the opposite direction, i.e., from the language to the meter, since the distribution of ambiguous elements, with a clear tendency to gravitate toward low-prominence positions, helps us to understand the relationships of prominence among the different parts of the verse. This study aims at examining the three commonest thesis in paremiology, namely the antiquity of proverbs, their popular origin and their belonging to the category of idiomatic expressions. Based on both diachronic and synchronic data and through an examination of the syntactic, semantic and metric structures of proverbs, the study brings out the misdirection of such vulgatas, and suggests a new approach, mainly based on the concept of lexical schemata, with an emphasis on the importance of metric patterns within the process of creation and evolution of paroemias. SONNET , *TEXTUAL criticism - Abstract
The sonnet, To Christ Crucified (No me mueve, mi Dios, para quererte) appeared in manuscripts and books from three different sources: Spain, Mexico and Italy, with similar but not completely parallel texts in the first half of the 17th Century. For four centuries, readers and editors were choosing the best variations of primitive texts, thus forming a refined and basically coincident text. So in the Hispanic world there is a version fundamentally very similar, but with differences in the details because of the absence of a text authorized by the author. This study, based on more than three hundred documents from the early 17th century until today, seeks to reveal, in the multitude of editions, that modern, refined and majority text, always in accordance with the sources. By avoiding particular small variations, it could serve as a reference in editions and studies of the sonnet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article we present the critical and annotated edition, and linguistic analysis, of a 13th century Andalusi treatise on metrics and rhyme. The treatise, originally the property of the University of Granada and its Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, was found by the authors in 2012 while conducting research in the archives of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The origins of the manuscript were investigated and the data regarding its author corrected. It is one of the most important and complex treatises on metrics and rhyme to have been found and it discusses metrics, feet and syllables. The treatise is largely unintelligible and has thus been annotated with almost forty comments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The historical linguistic studies constitute a necessary complement to reconstruct the metrics of the verses in their specific context. There are several theoretical perspectives to understand the metrical nature of the alejandrino verse, from those based in the syllabic regularity, in the frame of a medieval school, until those who take into consideration the heterometry documented in the manuscripts. From this perspective, the current paper has the aim to analyze each one of its main points from an integral philological perspective, which takes into consideration the metrics, as well as the underlying linguistic component, related to its history. In order to achieve this point, it is going to be taken a corpus of the most representative texts of the mester de clerecía written during the 13th and the 14th century (from the Libro de Alexandre until the Rimado de Palacio) to clarify the changes of this verse from the basis developed in the History of Language researches. Taking as a methodological basis the meter analysis as a source of the language reconstruction, the current research has the aim of describing the phonic component which underlies in the verses of Sem Tob's Proverbios morales, in the framework of the text's stylistic of the second cycle of the mester de clerezía's school. In order to achieve this objective, this study will take into consideration historical-literary data as a complement of the linguistic analysis. It is expected, as the main objective, to reach the proper dating to insert the current text in its philological context. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SUPPLY chains , *SUSTAINABILITY , *FOOD industry & the environment , *AGRICULTURE & the environment , *FOOD standards - Abstract
Over the past several years, many of the companies collectively known as Big Food have launched ambitious programs to assess and improve the sustainability of their raw material supply chains. Fueled partly by concerns about the risks posed by climate change and other environmental problems, these efforts differ from earlier corporate food supply chain governance in that they rely more on metrics of continuous improvement than compliance with standards. They also extend beyond high-value, high-profile products to include staple ingredients such as corn and soy. These commodities are sourced through long, complex, and traditionally nontransparent supply chains, where even the biggest food companies exercise surprisingly little clout over producers. This article examines how companies contend with this problem both within their own supply chains and as members of multistakeholder initiatives. The assemblage concept not only describes the many actors, technologies, and practices now working to get certain kinds of data flowing off farms; it also highlights the relational nature of this work and the uncertainty of its outcomes. More broadly, the article points to the limits of both corporate food power and the very notion of Big Food as an explanation for how that power is wielded. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The relationship between media and social media is accentuated in full Broadband Society. While the mass media dissemination of content on social networks seems an obligation, algorithms and metrics analysis on these networks try to multiply performance for the media company from its virtual activity. This article, from a theoretical innovation perspective, analyses the process of using social networks and social media and metrics used following objectives. We study the sentiment analysis, which identifies if the reader's reaction to the content units of the media is positive, neutral or negative. It is concluded that the measurement of the polarity of the reader comments to the media company helps to improve the customer experience thanks in particular to receiver interactivity. RESEARCH funding , *ANTHROPOLOGY , *ANTHROPOLOGICAL research , *ACADEMIC freedom , *ECONOMICS , *GOVERNMENT policy ,RESEARCH evaluation - Abstract
This paper explores ways in which the new preoccupation with "impact" - understood as "influence" beyond the academy - formalised in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) in UK universities reshapes the working conditions and practices in which contemporary anthropology and sociology are produced and, ultimately, what these disciplines are able to be. It suggests that impact, in concert with broader changes in, what we might think of as, the "metricization" of higher education, reshapes the relationship between universities and government bringing new cultures of precarity to these disciplines. This paper ruminates on how impact - a new addition to the metric assemblages that now dominate universities - shapes the kinds of research we can do, as well as the conditions in which we do it. It notes the deepening competition, the narrowing of disciplines, and the emphasis on the visibility and performance of intellectual labour. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

DISTANCES , *REAL numbers , *NUMBER concept , *MATHEMATICS , *PHYSICS , *METRIC spaces - Abstract
The concept of distance has a main importance to Science. Basically, if one can translate such notion into mathematics, the concept of distance is defined by a function whose arguments are pairs of real numbers and values are real numbers. Such conception of distance (metric space) is present in every realm of Physics, and finds its foundation on the intuitive idea that the distance between two points is the size of a continuous path that links these points. This article presents a new concept of distance, which one is built upon transreal numbers, a new domain of numbers created by the english computer scientist James A.D.W. Anderson. This new conception of metric space (transmetric space) allows the introduction of infinite distances, as well as distances between points which there is not any continuous path (metaphorically, a distance whose image is the "jump"). - Abstract
This article analyses the metrical problems concerning La vida de sant Alifonso por metros, a poem written at the beginning of the fourteenth century, which presents a versification similar to that of the thirteenth-century cuaderna vía works. Poor conservation of the text led the editors who studied it (Alvar Ezquerra in 1975 and John K. Walsh in 1972) to blame copyists for the numerous irregularities of metre that affect the poem. However, the large number of emendations introduced by the editors to correct the metre of the hemistich and avoid elision produce different ecdotic issues and problems, raising the possibility that, despite having the poems of the mester de clerecía as a model, the text reflects some of the changes that characterize early fourteenth-century Spanish poetry, such as the alternate use of elision and hiatus and, on some occasions, eight- or six-syllables hemistiches together with heptasyllabic ones. - Abstract
The concepts of visibility and use for digital collections are discussed, and a metric is proposed that relates both of them. Using a web-analytics tool for the data collected from a website, a relative visibility index is suggested, which results from dividing the new users by those returning to the web site. If the number of new users is well above that of the previous ones, that could mean that there are problems of site usability, accessibility, content, etc., because users are not returning. If, on the contrary, the number of previous users is well above that of the new ones, there could be a problem of visibility, as fewer users are arriving to the web site. The metric was developed in a case study involving the log records of the antique book digital collection of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, from January to June of 2011. Open access to information has brought about a multiplication of data that can be used to carry out statistical analysis on the impact of scientific publications, thus paving the way for new metrics models for scholarly communication. In May 2010 institutional repository Digital.CSIC launched a new statistics model to address CSIC structural complexity as well as requests by CSIC libraries to generate statistical reports by centres. Thanks to these newly developed statistics, it will be possible to undertake both internal follow-up activities and external promotional and advocacy efforts which will show cost-benefit relationship at Digital.CSIC more clearly alongside the impact of CSIC science that is openly available through Digital.CSIC. The article explains the architecture behind statistics a la carte developed by Digital.CSIC and needs and challenges that are to be addressed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper studies the new fragments of Sappho which were found in the Cologne Papyrus (P.Köln) Inv. Nr.21351 + 21376 edited and published by M. Gronewald and R.W. Daniel in "Zeitschrift für Papyrologie und Epigraphik" (ZPE) 147, 149 (2004) and 154 (2005). That papyrus has three fragments, two of them which can be attributed to Sappho and another from an unknown author. In the two fragments from Sappho, one is completely new, and the other is related to Papyrus Oxyrrhynchus (P.Oxy.) 1787 fr. 1, between lines 11-22. From the new discovery it is possible to reconstruct a whole complete poem; the new fragment actually completes the poem transmitted in P.Oxy 1781. We study the importance of the new poems in the context of Sappho poetical themes, analyzing its dialect, its relation to Sappho's live and its relation with other poems of Sappho. We offer a Spanish translation and the reconstruction of the metric. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the present work is contrasted the metric conceptualization of limit, given by Weierstrass, that is utilized traditionally in the teaching, with its conceptualization as optimum approximation, given by Blázquez and Ortega (2002), to establish which of the two is simpler and appropriate for the initial teaching-learning of such notion. It is described the analysis of the data provided by two exploration works and, finally, its conclusions are enunciated, corroborating that the second conceptualization is simpler than the first one and, therefore, the most appropriate for the initial learning. - Abstract
The purpose of this article is to present some factors for the study of the Arabic metrics and its use in fourteenth century Grenadian poetry. After studying the poetic works of nine of the XIV century poets, we could emphasize that their choice of the poetic metrics was slightly different from the choice of the Arabic poets of the preceding epochs. Such selection was mainly based on the genre of poetry, on the poet's intentions, and on the poet's choice of subject. While supporting this study with some statistical figures, we have shown that the Granadian poet respected, more or less, the relation which existed in the Arabian poetry among some poetic genres and some metrics of Arabian prosody. Hence, it seems that innovation in this field was improbable in spite of some cautions attempts by poets like Ibn al-Jatīb . and Ibn J-ātima. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
