Due to the importance in the socioeconomic role of coffee culture for the region, the study aimed to map the coffee culture of the Caparaó Capixaba Territory and to evaluate the dynamics of coffee cultivation in the period from 2007 to 2015. Photos from the orthophotomosaic of the state of Espírito Santo, cut to the Territory, with spatial resolution of 1 m for 2007 and 0.25 m for 2015, on the cartographic scale of 1: 35,000. The photointerpretation was performed using a computational application on a scale of 1: 2,000, with error checking using the Kappa Index. To position the cultivation area to the type of coffee between arabica and conilon, the zoning of agroclimatic suitability, restriction and inaptitude was carried out, and later involving the altitude, according to criteria adopted by the state agency. From the zoning point of view, the photointerpretation of the 2007 and 2015 cultivation area was interpolated, making it possible to compare them. It was found that the total occupation area was 16.37% (2007), 15.82% (2015) with 8.78% of common area. Regarding the total planting area of conilon and arabica, there was a reduction in the cultivation of both species of 11.51 and 7.10%, respectively. Geotechnology was of great relevance to the present work, in the activity of planning and administration of agribusiness. Em virtude da importância no papel socioeconômico da cultura cafeeira para a região, o estudo teve como objetivo mapear a cafeicultura do Território do Caparaó Capixaba e avaliar a dinâmica de ocupação do cultivo de café no período de 2007 a 2015. Foram utilizadas fotos do ortofotomosaico do estado do Espírito Santo, recorte para o Território, com resolução espacial de 1 m para 2007 e 0,25 m para 2015, na escala cartográfica de 1:35.000. A fotointerpretação foi realizada aplicativo computacional na escala de 1:2.000, com checagem do erro pelo Índice Kappa. A fim de posicionar a área de cultivo ao tipo de café entre arábica e conilon, foi realizado o zoneamento de aptidão, restrição e inaptidão Agroclimática, e posteriormente envolvendo a altitude, conforme critérios adotados pelo órgão estadual. De pose do zoneamento, foi interpolada a fotointerpretação da área de cultivo de 2007 e 2015, possibilitando sua comparação. Detectou-se que a área total de ocupação do foi de 16,37% (2007), 15,82% (2015), sendo 8,78% de área comum. Em relação a área de plantio total de conilon e arábica, verificou-se redução no cultivo de ambas as espécies de 14,59 e 6,72 km², respectivamente. A geotecnologia foi de grande relevância para o presente trabalho, na atividade de planejamento e administração do agronegócio.

Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar as características morfo-agronômicas do cafeeiro conilon submetido a diferentes manejos de espécies de adubos verdes. Foram avaliados cafeeiros contendo as espécies de adubo verde: feijão guandu, feijão de porco, mucuna preta e margaridão mexicano, em ambas as entrelinhas adjacentes (100%) e apenas na entrelinha localizada na entrelinha superior (50%), além de um tratamento testemunha (adubação convencional). A unidade experimental constituiu-se de uma planta de cafeeiro, variedade clonal “Incaper 8142” Conilon Vitória variedade 12 V (precoce), com espaçamento de 2,30 x 2,60 m, com cinco repetições. Utilizou-se bordadura de uma planta de cafeeiro entre as unidades experimentais. As varáveis avaliadas foram: comprimento do maior ramo ortotrópico (ALT); diâmetro dos ramos ortotrópicos (DRO); número de ramos plagiotrópicos lançados (NRP); número de nós produtivos dos ramos plagiotrópicos (NP); litros de café colhido in natura (LTS); quilogramas de café cereja produzidos por planta (kg). O manejo 50% de feijão guandu foi superior ao convencional para a maioria das características avaliadas, portanto pode ser recomendado, para o primeiro ano de transição.

Brazil is a world leader in coffee production, however, the quality of the grain differs between the different production systems, which influences the price paid for the product in the national and international market. Aims: Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the influence of Arabica coffee afforestation on the physical and sensorial quality of the bean. Methodology: The study was carried out in the Caparaó region, which involves part of the Espírito Santo state region and another part of the Minas Gerais state, Brazil. For the experiment, nine properties with of coffee. Catuaí vermelho IAC-44 was cultivated in two different situations: a plot of land on the full sole and another of wooded land. In each property, two samples were collected, one per area, representing the coffee in full sun and the other the wooded coffee, and in one of the properties samples were collected in two different areas of wooded coffee. Thus, in total, nine samples of crops in full sun and 10 of forest crops with different species were used, such as cedar, eucalyptus, palm heart, polyculture (characterized by shading with species of fruit and wood) and bananas. The samples consisted of seven liters of cherry coffee, selectively harvested, in the middle third of 20 randomly chosen plants. Results: The results showed that the quality of the coffee, physical and sensorial, is influenced by the cultivation system (wooded and in full sun), the degree of influence depends on the type of companion plant. Conclusion: Systems in forest crops with cedar and eucalyptus showed the least number of defects in raw beans and the highest proportion of flat beans (% CG). Treatment of wooded coffee with polyculture showed a higher percentage of coarse mocha (% MG). The cultivation of forested coffee with polyculture has an even better sensory quality, compared to the other treatments studied.

Coffee growing is recognized as an activity of great economic and social importance for Brazil. Obtaining good quality coffee seedlings is a major factor in the implantation of a productive and lasting crop. In view of the aforementioned, the objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of Arabica coffee seedlings produced with different substrates in different containers with multivariate analysis techniques. The experimental design used was in randomized blocks, in a 3 x 4 subdivided plot scheme, with 3 replications. The plot levels were: Tube of 120 cm³, Tube of 280 cm³ and Polyethylene bag with volume of 615 cm³. In the subplots the different levels of substrate were randomized: Conventional (S1), leguminous compound (S2), composed of grass + cured bovine manure (S3) and Vermicompost (S4). Treatments 10; 1; 4; 7 evaluated presented potential for diffusion of technology in the process of seedling formation. Key words: Coffea arabica, composting, agroecology.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the vegetative development of radish seedlings in different organic substrates with seeds from two types of commercial packing. The completely randomized design was used in a 4 x 2 factorial scheme, consisting of four substrates (commercial, tanned bovine manure, mixed organic compound and vermicompost) and two seed packings (aluminized envelope and can), with eight replications, totalizing 64 seedlings. The biometric evaluations of the seedlings were carried out on the 14th day after sowing, and the following phytotechnical parameters were evaluated: leaf number, total fresh mass; fresh mass from aerial part and fresh mass from the root. According to the results, the commercial, vermicompost and mixed organic substrates provided the best results for the variables evaluated when the can was used.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between morphoagronomic characters and coffee productivity and their direct and indirect effects under the influence of different types of green fertilizers. The experiment was carried out in the field followed by the sampling method in a pre-established coffee plantation, installed in soil with a slope of 11% in the Southern Region of the State of Espírito Santo. The intercropping of coffee with green fertilizers studied were pigeon pea, jack bean, velvet bean, and wild Mexican sunflower, as well as a control treatment without green fertilizers. The experimental unit consisted of a coffee plant, clonal variety "Incaper 8142" Conilon Vitoria, with a spacing of 2.30 x 2.60 meters, with a crop age of seven years, using the border of at least one coffee plant between experimental units. Eight morphoagronomic characteristics were measured, having as main dependent variable the productivity (in kg per plant) obtained in the harvest of 2015, and as primary explanatory characteristics: plant height, orthotropic branch diameter, plagiotropic branch diameter, number of leaves, number of nodes, number of orthotropic branches, number of plagiotropic branches and number of productive nodes. To increase productivity, coffee plants with the highest number of orthotropic branches and number of plagiotropic branches should be selected. The characteristics of greater direct contribution were a number of nodes and the number of productive nodes.

Seed quality is a key factor to succeed in a yield generation and storage is an important activity to control the physiological seed quality, as it preserves seed viability while maintaining its robustness at a reasonable level between planting and harvest. On this basis, the goal of this study was to evaluate the physiological quality of snap bean seeds stored in different types of packages and storage conditions. Eight genotypes comprising six lines and two controls were analyzed. It was applied a completely randomized block design with four replicates in a factorial scheme (8×2×2×7).Seed storage was performed in permeable and impermeable packages under controlled and uncontrolled conditions. The physiological seed quality was evaluated by means of germination and vigor tests. The different types of package and storage conditions influenced the physiological seed quality. Under controlled storage conditions, the permeable and impermeable packages were more efficient in controlling the physiological quality of snap bean seeds.

Among the factors that influence the detection of minimum significant differences between treatments in conventional experiments is the size of the plot, whose correct determination allows the reduction of experimental error, consequently, increases the precision of the experiment and the reliability of the interpretations and conclusions obtained. There are different methods to estimate the optimal plot size, which relate plot size and residual variation, highlighting among these the methods of maximum curvature, maximum modified curvature, maximum curvature of the coefficient of variation and regression with plateau response. In addition to these, there is the Hatheway method that takes into account factors such as number of treatments, repetitions and levels of significance. Since there is little work to estimate the optimal plot size in experiments with species of the genus Brassica, the present study aimed to increase the experimental precision in experiments with cabbage in the municipality of Alegre - ES by determining the optimal plot size with based on Hatheway's methods, maximum curvature, maximum curvature of the coefficient of variation and plateau regression. The work was carried out by means of a blank test carried out in the experimental area of the Center for Agricultural Sciences of the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Alegre - ES, in which both productive and growth variables were evaluated. At the end of the project, propose the optimal plot size to be used in experiments with cabbage in order to increase the experimental precision and the reliability of the results obtained in future experiments. Existen diferentes métodos para estimar el tamaño óptimo de parcela, que relacionan tamaño de parcela y variación residual, destacando entre estos los métodos de máxima curvatura, máxima curvatura modificada, máxima curvatura del coeficiente de variación y regresión con respuesta meseta. Además de estos, existe el método de Hatheway que toma en cuenta factores como número de tratamientos, repeticiones y niveles de significancia. In order to meet the need for nutrients or soil cover, when plants are used as green manure, it is necessary to determine the ideal plant population, as well as the amount and duration of released nutrients. This study aimed to assess the decomposition and nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) release rates of vetiver grass mulch. A split-plot arrangement was used, with the plots consisting of mulch decomposition times after cutting (0, 15, 25, 70 and 125 days) and the subplots of vetiver plant densities (1, 2, 3 and 4 plants m-2). A randomized block design was used, with four replications. The highest release rates for N, P and K were recorded during the first five days. The plant density of 3 plants m-2 exhibited the highest mulch dry weight at 125 days and contained more N, P and K, when compared to the populations of 1, 2 and 4 plants m-2. RESUMO A fim de atender a demanda de nutrientes ou cobertura do solo, quando se utilizam plantas para adubação verde, é necessário o conhecimento da adequada população de plantas, quantidade de nutrientes liberada e período de liberação. Objetivou-se verificar a taxa de decomposição e a liberação de nitrogênio (N), fósforo (P) e potássio (K) da palhada de capim-vetiver. Utilizou-se arranjo de parcelas subdivididas, sendo as parcelas constituídas por períodos de decomposição da palhada após o corte (0, 15, 25, 70 e 125 dias) e as subparcelas por populações de capim-vetiver (1, 2, 3 e 4 plantas m-2). O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Para N, P e K, as maiores liberações ocorreram durante os primeiros cinco dias. A população de 3 plantas m-2 foi a que apresentou a maior massa seca de palhada aos 125 dias, e a mesma continha mais N, P e K, se comparada às populações de 1, 2 e 4 plantas m-2.

The cowpea is produced in different environmental conditions in several regions of Brazil. It is crucial to select and develop cultivars that attend to the regional requirements with high productivity, adaptability, and stability, due to the interaction between the genotype and the environment. This research aimed to select strains of cowpea for the simultaneous presence of high genotypic productivity, adaptability, and stability in the North-eastern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) by the GGE-Biplot method. The study assessed 27 genotypes: 23 strains and four cultivars, in six environments of the North-eastern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, during the years 2016, 2017, and 2018. The experimental design was a randomized block design with four repetitions. The GGE-Biplpot method assessed the genotypic adaptability and stability, by the use of the statistical software R. The interaction between the environment and the genotypes was complex, and the general average for the productivity of the grains was 1231.98 kg/ha. GGE-Biplot method was efficient in identifying the best strains to be suggested for the use in the North-eastern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The strains (9), (3), and (6) were classified as ideotypes due to their superior performance compared to the general average, and their stability. Their performance overcame the control cultivars BRS Tumucumaque, BRS Imponente, BRS-Itaim e CB-27.

Plant residues such as animal feed weeds and bean straws are excellent sources of raw material for the production of organic fertilizers. In view of this, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of organic fertilization on the agromorphological and nutritional aspects in bean grains. The experiment was implemented in the field, in a randomized block design, with three replications, in a split plot scheme, with two types of organic compound (elephant grass enriched with cattle manure) and (bean straw enriched with cattle manure) applied in six increasing doses (0.0, 33.32, 66.65, 100.00, 133.32 and 166.65%) control treatment (recommended mineral fertilization). It was possible to identify interaction between the type of compound and the doses applied only to PL. With a yield of 2.8 t ha-1, mineral fertilization did not differ from treatment with 0.0% organic fertilizer. The dose of 166.65% organic fertilizer increased grain yield reaching 3.8 t ha-1 compared to 2.4 t ha-1 obtained in the treatment with 0.0%. In addition, this treatment increased the K content in the grains. On the other hand, the application of 133.32% of organic fertilizer can be indicated for the increase in mg content in the grains.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a relação custo/benefício e a viabilidade econômica do consórcio adubação verde em café conilon (Coffea canephora). O experimento consistiu-se em cinco consócios (tratamentos) de café com leguminosas, a saber: café + feijão guandu (Cajanu cajans L.); café + mucuna preta (Stizolobium aterrimum); café + feijão de porco (Canavalia ensiformis); café + margaridão mexicano (Tithonia diversifolia) e café solteiro (solo capinado). As avaliações foram feitas em 10 plantas de café por tratamento. O experimento foi conduzido em faixa, com o plantio das leguminosas nas entrelinhas. Custo Total CT = CFT + CVT, Custo operacional COP = CT – CO, Custo fixo médio CFMe = CFT/Q, Custo variável médio CVMe = CVT/Q, Custo total médio CTMe = CT/Q, Custo operacional médio CopMe = COp/Q, Renda bruta total RBT = PxQ, Renda líquida total RLT = RBT – CT, Renda líquida operacional Rlop = RBT – COP, Rentabilidade RT = RLT/Investimento x 100, Lucratividade LC = RLT/RBTx100, Ponto de nivelamento PN = CT/preço de mercado, Margem de segurança MS = RBT/RBTx100. O tratamento que se destacou foi o Margaridão mexicano, apresentando maior renda líquida na atividade econômica, permitindo uma oscilação tanto na produção quanto na comercialização da saca de café, sendo o mais recomendado. No segundo ano de avaliação, de forma geral, a adubação verde, apresentaram uma melhor rentabilidade e possuindo uma melhor produção comparado aos demais tratamentos. Nos Três anos de experimento, os adubos verdes proporcionaram maior produção em comparação ao tratamento Testemunha, com destaque para o Margaridão mexicano, nos anos de 2017 e 2018.

Diferentes cultivares de tomateiro podem apresentar necessidades hídricas diferenciadas, tornando-se indispensável o estudo da demanda hídrica. Desta forma, objetivou-se avaliar a influência de diferentes tensões de água no solo sobre a produção e qualidade pós-colheita de frutos do tomateiro, cultivar Dominador F1, sob cultivo protegido e irrigado por gotejamento. O experimento foi instalado em casa de vegetação com delineamento em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por seis tensões de água no solo como indicativos do momento de irrigar. As tensões preestabelecidas foram 20, 45, 70, 95, 120 e 145 kPa a 20 cm de profundidade. Aos 140 dias após o transplantio as variáveis avaliadas foram: produção total, comercial e não comercial de frutos; produtividade total, comercial e não comercial de frutos; número de frutos por planta; classificação dos frutos comerciais; massa média dos frutos comerciais; incidência de podridão apical (%); eficiência no uso da água (EUA); acidez titulável (AT); sólidos solúveis totais (SST); pH; relação sólidos solúveis totais e acidez titulável (SST/AT); pectina solúvel; vitamina C; firmeza; coloração e teor de macro e micronutrientes da parte aérea. Os resultados demonstraram que para a obtenção dos maiores valores de produção e produtividade de frutos comerciais, número de frutos por planta, número de frutos grandes e médios e massa média de frutos comerciais, deve-se irrigar quando a tensão de água no solo estiver, em torno, de 20 kPa, à profundidade de 0,20 m. As diferentes tensões de água no solo não influenciaram, significativamente, a acidez titulável, pH, relação sólidos solúveis totais e acidez titulável e pectina solúvel. A eficiência no uso da água, em função das tensões de água no solo, aumentou até a tensão de 116,57 kPa. Das características de qualidade avaliadas, os teores de sólidos solúveis totais, de vitamina C, firmeza e índice L* de coloração, apresentaram efeito significativo com as tensões de água no solo.

The work consisted of the morpho agronomic evaluation of coffee crop under the influence of intercropping with different types of green manures. The experiment was carried out in the Southern Region of the State of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The experimental plot consisted of five plants per experimental unit, using the clone "Incaper 8142" Conilon Vitória, intercropping with different types of green manure plants, which were: guandu beans (Cajanus cajan), pig bean (Canavalia ensiformis), mucuna preta (Mucuna Pruriens) and Mexican margaridão (Tithonia diversifolia) in addition to a control treatment without green manure. El trabajo consistió en la evaluación morfoagronómica del cultivo del café bajo la influencia del consorcio con diferentes tipos de fertilizantes verdes. El experimento se llevó a cabo en la Región Sur del Estado de Espírito Santo, Brasil. La parcela experimental consistió en cinco plantas por unidad experimental, utilizando el clon "Incaper 8142" Conilon Vitória, intercalado con diferentes tipos de abonos verdes, a saber: guandú (Cajanus cajan), frijol porcino (Canavalia ensiformis), mucuna negra (Mucuna pruriens) y margarita mexicana (Tithonia diversifolia) además de un tratamiento control sin abono verde. La siembra consistió en hileras adyacentes y ubicadas en la “hilera superior”, lo que no es claro para el cultivo del café. Las características morfo agronómicas evaluadas fueron: altura de planta, diámetro de la rama ortotrópica, diámetro de la rama plagiotrópica, número de hojas, número de nudos, número de ramas ortotrópicas, número de ramas plagiotrópicas y nodos productivos y productividad de café verde kg/ha, además de la dependiente principal: Las características de mayor contribución directa fueron el número de nodos y el número de nodos productivos. La especie de fertilizante verde mexicano Margaridão (Tithonia diversifolia) tuvo un efecto negativo en las principales variables relacionadas con la producción, y no se recomienda su intercalación con café robusto. O trabalho consistiu na avaliação morfoagronômica da cultura do café sob a influência do consórcio com diferentes tipos de adubos verdes. O experimento foi realizado na Região Sul do Estado do Espírito Santo, Brasil. A parcela experimental constou de cinco plantas por unidade experimental, utilizando o clone "Incaper 8142" Conilon Vitória, consorciadas com diferentes tipos de adubos verdes, quais sejam: feijão guandu (Cajanus cajan), feijão suíno (Canavalia ensiformis), mucuna preta (Mucuna pruries) e mexicano margaridão (Tithonia diversifolia) além de um tratamento controle sem adubo verde. O plantio consistia em fileiras adjacentes e localizadas na “interlinha superior”, o que não é claro para a cultura do café. As características morfoagronômicas avaliadas foram: altura da planta, diâmetro do ramo ortotrópico, diâmetro do ramo plagiotrópico, número de folhas, número de nós, número de ramos ortotrópicos, número de ramos plagiotrópicos e nós produtivos e produtividade café verde kg/ha, além do principal dependente: As características de maior contribuição direta foram número de nós e número de nós produtivos. A espécie de fertilizante verde Mexican Margaridão (Tithonia diversifolia) apresentou efeito negativo nas principais variáveis relacionadas à produção, não sendo recomendada para o intercalamento com café robusto.

The present work aimed to assess the quality of arabica coffee seedlings produced on different substrates and in various recipients. The work was performed in a randomized block experimental design, using three repetitions, in subdivided parcels, with three parcels, and four sub parcels. The experiment used the cultivar of Coffea arábia “Catuai IAC 44”. The genotype received the following treatments: R1 polyethylene bag, 615 cm³; R2: 280 cm³ tubes; R3: 120 cm³ tubes; S1 conventional substrate composed by a mixture of ravine earth with bovine manure at a 3:1 (v/v) proportion added with a NPK fertilization, recommended for coffee culture; S2 organic leguminous compound, mixture of a leguminous plant (guandu beans, Cajanus cajan) with bovine manure at a 1:1 (v/v) proportion, followed by a 90 days maturation process; S3: organic grass compound, produced by the composting of garden grass chips mixed with bovine manure at 1:1 proportion; and S4: vermicompost derived from the organic decompositions of grasses. The results of this research highlight that substrates and recipients affect the development of the seedlings of arabica coffee, improving the quality indexes of Dickson in the higher volume 615 cm3 recipient and the alternative substrate composed by legume, grass, and vermicompost were efficient to produce Arabica coffee seedlings. This combination of substrate and recipient can substitute the conventional substrate in this phase of the development of the seedlings, providing an increase in the production quality.

Brazil is the world’s largest producer and largest consumer of passion fruit, producing approximately 0.1 million tons. However, crop management techniques are deficient in the use of alternative sources of fertilizer, an extremely relevant aspect in reducing production costs, as some nutrients are imported at high costs. Thus, this study was intended to calculate the percentage of an optimal dose of sewage sludge according to the regression model for each morpho-agronomic trait of yellow passion fruit. A completely randomized design (CRD) was adopted, consisting of four treatments, 0; 25; 50; and 75%, with 20 replicates considering one plant per replicate. Treatments were T1 (0 without sewage sludge addition), T2 (75% soil + 25% sewage sludge); T3 (50% soil + 50% sewage sludge); and T4 (25% soil + 75% sewage sludge). Regression coefficients were above 80%. Morpho-agronomic traits obtained optimal doses at a concentration of 50% of sewage sludge for the manufacture of the substrate. The conclusion reached was the substrate based on sewage sludge in the proportion of 50% combined with 50% of soil was superior to the other ones for seedling production.

Different substrates and containers influence the production of coffee seedlings, which can reduce production costs, both with alternative substrates and with containers of smaller volumes of substrates. The aim the present study was to evaluate the viability of alternative substrates in different containers for production of Conilon coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre ex Froehner) seedlings in the nursery of the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo - Campus of Alegre, ES, Brazil. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with three replications, in split-plot with three plots and four subplots. The plots consisted of three containers (120 cm³ tube, 280 cm³ tube and 615 cm³ bag), and the subplots of four substrates (S1 - Conventional, S2 - Legume compost, S3 - Grass compost, S4 - Vermicompost). At 165 days after sowing, the evaluated variables were shoot and root dry mass, number of leaves, shoot height, leaf area, Dickson quality index, shoot/root ratio, root length, nitrogen and total crude protein. The alternative substrates (Legume compost, Grass compost and Vermicompost) were efficient for production of Conilon coffee seedlings and can replace the conventional substrate at this development stage, providing good quality seedlings. The major developments were observed in the containers with the highest volume (280 cm³ tube and 615 cm³ bag) and reflected directly on the quality of seedlings.

Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar o desempenho de diferentes substratos e concentrações, no desenvolvimento de cultivares de alface. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, localizada no setor de Agroecologia do Instituto Federal do Espírito Santo Campus de Alegre, ES. O delineamento utilizado foi em blocos casualizados disposto em um esquema fatorial 4x3x2, sendo quatro tipos substratos (S1: Plantmax®; S2: composto orgânico; S3: húmus de minhoca; S4: borra de cana-de-açúcar), três concentrações (100%, 75% e 50%) e duas cultivares de alface. As variáveis avaliadas foram: massa fresca da parte aérea, massa fresca toal e altura da parte aérea. As mudas foram avaliadas ao 21° dia após semeio. Os resultados demostraram que substratos orgânicos se mostraram eficazes para o desenvolvimento das cultivares de alface, os quais podem ser utilizados em diferentes concentrações em substituição ao substrato comercial.

Minimilho ou “baby corn” é o nome dado à inflorescência feminina do milho, antes da polinização, ou seja, é a espiga de milho em desenvolvimento. A colheita é realizada manualmente e ocorre de dois a três dias após a emissão dos estilo-estigmas. Ele é consumido in natura ou em conservas acidificadas na forma de petisco, picles, saladas e na confecção de pratos como risotos, sopas e guarnições acompanhadas com carnes e peixe grelhados O minimilho é considerado uma hortícola, devido o tempo gasto da semeadura à colheita. A produção de minimilho pode ser considerado com uma das alternativas para diversificar a produção e aumentar a rentabilidade na agricultura familiar. Objetivou-se com a realização deste trabalho elaborar uma revisão de literatura sobre avaliação de diferentes genótipos de milho para produção de minimilho. Com base na literatura ainda não é possível recomendar cultivares de milho para produção de minimilho.

The potential expression of crop productivity is a constant challenge for plant breeders in the face of oscillations in environmental variables, making selection difficult and increasing the operational and methodological costs in obtaining the ideal cultivar for a determined region. Cowpea beans is grown under different edaphoclimatic conditions throughout Brazilian regions causing them to perform differently due to the influence that environments have on genotypes. Thus, it is necessary to obtain lines adapted to the specific cultivation environments so that it can present high yield.
