ABSTRACTSince 2021, China has been actively promoting the Small Reservoir Monitoring Facility Project. However, due to varying levels of expertise among the participating contractors and unclear data review standards, the quality of monitoring data has been unsatisfactory. To improve the quality of the monitoring procedure, this study has implemented a series of measures. Many data review methods and rules have been established as well as automated and manual tools. Then, some statistical analysis were created to evaluate data quality and promptly address any issues. At the end, a mechanism for data review and rectification was created. With those measures, the automatic review can improved data quality and accuracy by approximately 60%. A total of over 11.178 million data were reviewed, with 59,000 data corrected, accounting for 0.05% of the total data. The data quality of 20 small reservoirs in Guangxi has significantly improved, providing reliable information to maximize the effectiveness of the existing monitoring facilities. The findings of this study not only contribute to the foundation of reliable data for future, as well as the development of forecasting and warning systems, but also offer valuable experiences for improving data quality in similar monitoring projects at different levels.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of definitive radiotherapy in selected patients with local recurrence of Kimura disease of the head and neck after surgery. Methods: This retrospective study collected the clinical data of 14 patients with postoperative recurrence of Kimura disease of the head and neck who received definitive radiotherapy at the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University between 2006 and 2022. The radiation dose ranged from 28 to 40 Gy. Its efficacy and safety were analyzed. Results: During follow‐up, ranging from 17 to 168 months, local control was achieved in 13 (92.9%) of the 14 patients with postoperative recurrence. There were no serious late toxicities except for mild xerostomia in four (28.6%) patients; the patients' peripheral blood eosinophil count dropped from 1.73×109/L before treatment to 0.42×109/L after treatment, and the eosinophil percentage dropped from 20.64% to 9.78%. Both changes were statistically significant (p<0.001). Conclusions: The findings of the study suggest that definitive radiotherapy is a viable and effective alternative to repeated surgery for managing recurrent Kimura disease of the head and neck, with significant response rates and a good safety profile. Peripheral blood eosinophil counts and percentages serve as simple and reliable biomarkers for monitoring Kimura disease progression and treatment responses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: We aimed to compare the staging efficiency of [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE and [68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET/CT in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients. Methods: Thirty-nine patients with pathologically confirmed NPC were enrolled in this prospective study. Each patient underwent paired [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE and [68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET/CT on 2 successive days. The accuracy of two PET/CT for assessing T, N, and M stages was compared by using head-and-neck MRI, histopathologic diagnosis and follow-up results as reference standards. The radiotracer uptake derived from two PETs was also compared. Results: For treatment-naïve patients, [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT showed identical sensitivity for the primary tumours but clearer tumor delineation induced by higher tumour-to-background (TBR) ratio (19.1 ± 8.7 vs. 12.4 ± 7.7, P = 0.003), compared with [68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET/CT. Regarding cervical lymph node (CLN) metastases, [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE PET had significantly better sensitivity and accuracy based on neck sides (98% vs. 82%, P < 0.001; 99% vs. 88% P = 0.008), neck levels (98% vs. 78%, 99% vs. 97%; both P < 0.001) and individual nodes (89% vs. 56%, 91% vs. 76%; both P < 0.001), and higher TBR (8.1 ± 4.1 vs. 6.3 ± 3.7, P < 0.001). Additionally, [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT revealed higher sensitivity and accuracy for distant metastases (96% vs. 53%, 95% vs. 52%; both P < 0.001), particularly in bone metastases (99% vs. 49%, 97% vs. 49%; both P < 0.001). For post-treatment patients, [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT identified one more true-negative case than [68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET/CT. Conclusion: [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT performed better than [68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET/CT in visualizing the primary tumours, detecting the metastatic lesions and identifying the local recurrence, suggesting [68Ga]Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT may be superior to [68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET/CT for NPC staging. Conformal thin film sensing represents a cutting-edge technology capable of precisely measuring complex surface temperature fields under extreme conditions. However, fabricating high-temperature-resistant conformal thin film thermocouple arrays remains challenging. This study reports a method for manufacturing conformal thin film thermocouple arrays on metal spherical surfaces using a printable paste composed of silicates and Ag. Specifically, the use of silicate glass phases enhances the high-temperature performance of the silver printable paste, enabling the silver ink coatings to withstand temperatures up to 947 °C and survive over 25 h at 900 °C. The thermocouples, connected to Pt thin films, exhibited a Seebeck coefficient of approximately 17 μV/°C. As a proof of concept, an array of six Ag/Pt thin film thermocouples was successfully fabricated on a metal spherical surface. Compared to traditional wire-type thermocouples, the conformal thin film thermocouple arrays more accurately reflect temperature variations at different points on a spherical surface. The Ag/Pt conformal thin film thermocouple arrays hold promise for monitoring temperature fields in harsh environments, such as aerospace and nuclear energy applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
