Background: This study aimed to develop and validate a radiomics score to predict the long-term survival and patterns of recurrence of gastric cancer (GC). Methods: A total of 513 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy for GC after curative resection between 2008 and 2016 at two institutions were analyzed. A radiomics score was generated using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator Cox regression model on 327 patients and was validated in 186 patients. A nomogram consisting of the radiomics score and clinicopathological factors was created and compared with the tumor-lymph node-metastasis (TNM) staging system. Model performance was assessed using calibration, discrimination, and clinical usefulness. Results: The radiomics score was established based on five selected features. A higher score was significantly associated with poorer recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) rates, both in the training and validation cohorts (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that the radiomics score was an independent prognostic factor for both RFS and OS (P < 0.05). A nomogram incorporating the radiomics score had a significantly better prognostic value than the TNM system alone. Moreover, a high score was significantly associated with an increased risk of distant recurrence, a medium score was significantly associated with an increased risk of peritoneal recurrence, and a low score was significantly associated with an increased risk of locoregional recurrence, in the entire cohort (P < 0.05). Conclusions: The newly proposed radiomics score may be a powerful predictor of long-term outcomes and recurrence patterns of GC. Further studies are warranted to confirm these findings.

Polyurea elastomer has unique molecular structure, good energy absorption characteristics and excellent mechanical properties in terms of tear strength, tensile strength and breaking elongation. A large number of studies have shown that polyurea elastomer can effectively reduce the destructiveness of the structure under explosive load. Therefore, the research on polyurea elastomer relating to blast protection is becoming more and more extensive. In this paper, the microstructure of polyurea elastomer was briefly introduced, and its mechanical properties at different strain rates were described. Besides, based on the excellent mechanical properties of polyurea elastomer, the research progress of polyurea elastomer relating with blast protection was reviewed from the aspects of masonry structure and steel structure. The analysis showed that polyurea elastomers would become a research hotspot in blast protection field due to their excellent mechanical properties and good energy absorption characteristics and would have broad development prospects in practical engineering applications.

Abstract Background Laparoscopic resection of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) is technically feasible and associated with favorable outcomes. We compared the clinical efficacy of hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery (HLS) and total laparoscopic surgery (TLS) for gastric GISTs. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 69 consecutive patients diagnosed with a gastric GIST in a tertiary referral teaching hospital from December 2016 to December 2020. Surgical outcomes were compared between two groups. Results Fifty-three patients (TLS group: n = 36; HLS group: n = 17) were included. The mean age was 56.9 and 58.1 years in the TLS and HLS groups, respectively. The maximum tumor margin was significantly shorter in the HLS group than in the TLS group (2.3 ± 0.9. vs. 3.0 ± 0.8 cm; P = 0.004). Foxtail millet, a high-quality coarse cereal, is generally used to cook porridge. Cooked foxtail millet is another food product of this cereal. However, a systematic evaluation method for the eating quality of cooked foxtail millet has not yet been established. In this study, heater type, millet-to-water mass ratio, water type, and soaking time affecting the edible quality of cooked foxtail millet (Variety: Zhangzagu 13) were investigated. The hardness viscometer, colorimeter and sensory evaluation were used to comprehensively evaluate the edible quality of millet. The optimal cooking method was determined as follows: Firstly, put 300 g of millet in an electric cooker and wash twice with deionized water quickly. Secondly, add deionized water in a mass ratio of millet to water 1.0∶2.0 and soak for 30 min. Finally, cook millet for about 45 minutes in the essence rice mode. After cooking, stir well and stew for 20 min. This research provides an important scientific basis for foxtail millet cooking and edible quality evaluation.

Mobile applications are able to reach multiple markets instantaneously and simultaneously in cyberspace, with varying performances over time. The purpose of this study is to advance our understanding of this process and the internationalisation patterns in the virtual world. Based on the diffusion of innovation theory (DOI), we have developed a configurational model that relates the three elements of the diffusion process – innovation, communication channels, and social systems – to the speed of dispersion across multiple markets (breadth) at different adoption rates (depth) and over different periods (timespan). A fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) is conducted on a sample of 70 mobile games, which indicates that these elements have interdependent effects on rapid international expansion and play different roles in deeper and longer-term diffusion. It also demonstrates that rapid internationalisation in the virtual world benefits from communication and influence among users. This study contributes to the internationalisation speed literature by employing a demand-side perspective in the virtual world. It also contributes to the DOI literature by exploring the interdependent relationships among different elements of the diffusion process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
