Abstract Temporal solitons have been the focus of much research due to their fascinating physical properties. These solitons can form bound states, which are fundamentally crucial modes in fiber laser and present striking analogies with their matter molecules counterparts, which means they have potential applications in large-capacity transmission and all-optical information storage. Although traditionally, second-order dispersion has been the dominant dispersion for conventional solitons, recent experimental and theoretical research has shown that pure-high-even-order dispersion (PHEOD) solitons with energy-width scaling can arise from the interaction of arbitrary negative-even-order dispersion and Kerr nonlinearity. Despite these advancements, research on the bound states of PHEOD solitons is currently non-existent. In this study, we obtained PHEOD bound solitons in a fiber laser using an intra-cavity spectral pulse shaper for high-order dispersion management. Specifically, we experimentally demonstrate the existence of PHEOD solitons and PHEOD bound solitons with pure-quartic, -sextic, -octic, and -decic dispersion. Numerical simulations corroborate these experimental observations. Furthermore, vibrating phase PHEOD bound soliton pairs, sliding phase PHEOD bound soliton pairs, and hybrid phase PHEOD bound tri-soliton are discovered and characterized. These results broaden the fundamental understanding of solitons and show the universality of multi-soliton patterns.

Background: Early and accurate diagnoses of sepsis patients are essential to reduce the mortality. However, the sepsis is still diagnosed in a traditional way in China despite the increasing number of related studies, which may to some extent lead to delays in the treatment. Methods: The study included 2,385 patients, including 364 with sepsis, collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and partner hospitals from April to July 2022. External validation was conducted using the MIMIC-III database (over 60,000 patients from 2001 to 2012) and the eICU Collaborative Research Database (139,000 patients from 2014 to 2015). Multiple algorithm models, along with the SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) analysis, are applied to explore the main risk factors for the accurate prediction of the sepsis. Multiple Imputations for filling missing data and the Synthetic Minority Oversampling (SMOTE) balancing method for balancing data are used for the data processing. Result: Eighteen diagnostic features are used in the predictive model for early sepsis. The Random Forest model has the best performance among all the models, with an Area Under the Curve (AUC) of 87% and an F1-score (F1) of 77%. Moreover, the interpretation from the SHAP analysis is generally consistent with the current clinical situation. Conclusion: The study revealed the relationship between these 18 clinical features and diagnostic outcomes. The results indicate that patients with laboratory values of Systolic Blood Pressure, Albumin, and Heart Rate exceeding certain thresholds are at a high likelihood of developing sepsis.

Background: The differentiation between benign and malignant breast tumors extends beyond morphological structures to encompass functional alterations within the nodules. The combination of photoacoustic (PA) imaging and radiomics unveils functional insights and intricate details that are imperceptible to the naked eye. Purpose: This study aims to assess the efficacy of PA imaging in breast cancer radiomics, focusing on the impact of peritumoral region size on radiomic model accuracy. Materials and methods: From January 2022 to November 2023, data were collected from 358 patients with breast nodules, diagnosed via PA/US examination and classified as BI-RADS 3–5. The study used the largest lesion dimension in PA images to define the region of interest, expanded by 2 mm, 5 mm, and 8 mm, for extracting radiomic features. Techniques from statistics and machine learning were applied for feature selection, and logistic regression classifiers were used to build radiomic models. These models integrated both intratumoral and peritumoral data, with logistic regressions identifying key predictive features. Results: The developed nomogram, combining 5 mm peritumoral data with intratumoral and clinical features, showed superior diagnostic performance, achieving an AUC of 0.950 in the training cohort and 0.899 in validation. This model outperformed those based solely on clinical features or other radiomic methods, with the 5 mm peritumoral region proving most effective in identifying malignant nodules. Conclusion: This research demonstrates the significant potential of PA imaging in breast cancer radiomics, especially the advantage of integrating 5 mm peritumoral with intratumoral features. This approach not only surpasses models based on clinical data but also underscores the importance of comprehensive radiomic analysis in accurately characterizing breast nodules.

Abstract Background A previously trained deep learning-based smartphone app provides an artificial intelligence solution to help diagnose biliary atresia from sonographic gallbladder images, but it might be impractical to launch it in real clinical settings. This study aimed to redevelop a new model using original sonographic images and their derived smartphone photos and then test the new model’s performance in assisting radiologists with different experiences to detect biliary atresia in real-world mimic settings. Methods A new model was first trained retrospectively using 3659 original sonographic gallbladder images and their derived 51,226 smartphone photos and tested on 11,410 external validation smartphone photos. Afterward, the new model was tested in 333 prospectively collected sonographic gallbladder videos from 207 infants by 14 inexperienced radiologists (9 juniors and 5 seniors) and 4 experienced pediatric radiologists in real-world mimic settings. Diagnostic performance was expressed as the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). Results The new model outperformed the previously published model in diagnosing BA on the external validation set (AUC 0.924 vs 0.908, P = 0.004) with higher consistency (kappa value 0.708 vs 0.609). When tested in real-world mimic settings using 333 sonographic gallbladder videos, the new model performed comparable to experienced pediatric radiologists (average AUC 0.860 vs 0.876) and outperformed junior radiologists (average AUC 0.838 vs 0.773) and senior radiologists (average AUC 0.829 vs 0.749). Furthermore, the new model could aid both junior and senior radiologists to improve their diagnostic performances, with the average AUC increasing from 0.773 to 0.835 for junior radiologists and from 0.749 to 0.805 for senior radiologists. Conclusions The interpretable app-based model showed robust and satisfactory performance in diagnosing biliary atresia, and it could aid radiologists with limited experiences to improve their diagnostic performances in real-world mimic settings.

China's coastal zones, characterized by their ecological vulnerability and significant economic growth, demand effective water conservation management. Such management is pivotal not only for safeguarding water resources but also for ensuring ecological stability and promoting sustainable socio-economic development. In this study, based on the water balance model, the spatiotemporal dynamics of water conservation in the ecosystems of China's coastal areas from 2001 to 2021 were characterized by three dimensions: overall, zonal, and raster. The results show that: ① the distribution pattern of ecosystem water conservation in China's coastal areas from 2001 to 2021 is “high in the south and low in the north”, with a total amount of 117.726 billion m3/a, with the Pearl River Delta and Southwest Coastal Areas as the main high-value areas, and the overall water conservation and its capacity show a “ decreasing-rising-decreasing” pattern. The overall water conservation and its capacity show a fluctuating trend of “falling-rising-falling”. Additionally, water conservation capacity varied significantly among different vegetation types and across marine-terrestrial gradients, with the highest capacity recorded in evergreen coniferous forests and areas situated 140 km from the coastline. ②From 2001 to 2021, the water conservation capacity of China's coastal ecosystems exhibited significant temporal patterns and spatial differentiation along the marine-terrestrial gradient. The research suggests that these patterns of change are intricately linked with the stages of regional development strategies and ecological construction within these coastal zones. ③In China's coastal areas, a mere 11.63 % of the rasters showed significant changes in water conservation, dominated by highly significant and significant increases, mainly in the Southeast Coastal Area, the Pearl River Delta and Southwest Coastal Areas, and the Bohai Bay Coastal Area. This included areas such as the Yangtze River Delta silty coastal plain area, the Bohai Bay silty coastal plain area, the sandy silt coastal hilly terrace area of western Guangdong and Guinan, and other China coastal protection forest system construction projects. ④ Water conservation function within China's coastal ecosystems demonstrates a profound interconnection with both natural and socio-economic determinants. Natural elements such as elevation, slope, and precipitation positively correlate with water conservation metrics. Conversely, evapotranspiration and temperature are inversely related to conservation outcomes. In terms of social factors, water conservation has a significant negative correlation with GDP density and population density, with the highest negative correlation with the GDP2 density.

Abstract Purpose To summarize our single-center experience with percutaneous ultrasound (US)-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for pediatric recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (RHCC). Methods From September 2007 to September 2021, patients under 18 who underwent percutaneous US-guided RFA for RHCC were retrospectively enrolled in this study. Local effectiveness, complications, local tumor progression (LTP), progression free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) were evaluated. Results A total of 10 patients (9 male and 1 female; mean age, 11.7 ± 4 years ; age range, 6–17 years) with 15 intrahepatic RHCC lesions were enrolled in this study. Complete ablation (CA) was achieved in 14 out of 15 lesions (93.3%) after the first RFA. During the follow-up (mean, 63.1 ± 18 months; range, 5.3-123.3 months), LTP did not occur. Five patients died including three with tumor progression and one with liver failure. The accumulative one- and three-year PFS rates were 30% and 10%, respectively. The accumulative one- and three-year OS rates were 77.8% and 44.4%, respectively. Conclusions Our single-center experience suggests the safety and feasibility of percutaneous US-guided RFA for pediatric RHCC.

Medical text classification, as a fundamental medical natural language processing task, aims to identify the categories to which a short medical text belongs. Current research has focused on performing the medical text classification task using a pre-training language model through fine-tuning. However, this paradigm introduces additional parameters when training extra classifiers. Recent studies have shown that the “prompt-tuning” paradigm induces better performance in many natural language processing tasks because it bridges the gap between pre-training goals and downstream tasks. The main idea of prompt-tuning is to transform binary or multi-classification tasks into mask prediction tasks by fully exploiting the features learned by pre-training language models. This study explores, for the first time, how to classify medical texts using a discriminative pre-training language model called ERNIE-Health through prompt-tuning. Specifically, we attempt to perform prompt-tuning based on the multi-token selection task, which is a pre-training task of ERNIE-Health. The raw text is wrapped into a new sequence with a template in which the category label is replaced by a [UNK] token. The model is then trained to calculate the probability distribution of the candidate categories. Our method is tested on the KUAKE-Question Intention Classification and CHiP-Clinical Trial Criterion datasets and obtains the accuracy values of 0.866 and 0.861. In addition, the loss values of our model decrease faster throughout the training period compared to the fine-tuning. The experimental results provide valuable insights to the community and suggest that prompt-tuning can be a promising approach to improve the performance of pre-training models in domain-specific tasks.

The sky-radiometer/sun-photometer is the most widely used instrument for obtaining aerosol optical depth (AOD) or aerosol optical properties worldwide. Due to the existence of field of view (FOV, 1°), the radiation received by the sky-radiometer includes the forward scattering in addition to direct solar irradiance. This leads to more diffuse light errors of retrieved AODs, especially for shorter wavelength and heavily polluted weather conditions. Using simulation data of three typical aerosol particles (dust, soot, water-soluble), we first verified the accuracy of the Monte Carlo method for calculating the forward scattering effect. Based on the sky-radiometer data collected in Xi’an (2015–2020) where heavy pollution weather is common, the relative errors and correction factors of the AOD were obtained under different conditions, including various short wavelengths (≤400 nm), solar zenith angles (SZAs) and AODs. Our analysis indicates the close dependence of AOD correction factors on wavelength, SZA, AOD and the optical properties of aerosol particles. The mean relative error in Xi’an increases with the decrease of wavelength (~16.1% at 315 nm) and decreases first and then increases with the increase of the SZA. The relative errors caused by forward scattering can exceed 10% when the AOD is greater than 1 and 25% when the AOD is larger than 2 in the ultraviolet (UV) band. The errors with a wavelength greater than 400 nm and an AOD below 1.0 can be within 5%, which can be ignored. The correlation coefficients of AODs before and after a correction from 315 nm to 400 nm are greater than 0.96, which basically increase with the increase of the wavelength. This indicates that the significance of the forward scattering effect in the Xi’an area with heavy pollution cannot be ignored for short wavelengths. However, such effect is negligible at the longer wavelengths and lower AODs (

Soybean oil body (SOB) emulsions were prepared using OBs extracted at pH 11.0 and pH 7.0. The pH 11.0-SOB comprised oleosins, whereas pH 7.0-SOB comprised extrinsic proteins and oleosins. All SOB emulsions were heated at 60–100 °C for 15 min. Heating may lead to the release of extrinsic proteins from the surface of pH 7.0-SOB due to heat-induced denaturation. The total proportion of α-helix and β-sheets gradually decreased from 77 (unheated) to 36.2% (100 °C). During stomach digestion, the extrinsic protein hydrolysis of heated pH 7.0-SOB emulsions was fast between 60 and 80 °C, and it then slowed between 90 and 100 °C; heating inhibited the oleosin hydrolysis of pH 7.0- and 11.0-SOBs. Heat treatment promoted aggregation and coalescence, and it resulted in increased particle sizes for all emulsions. Larger aggregates were found in heated pH 7.0-SOB emulsions, and larger oil droplets were found in heated pH 11.0-SOB emulsions. After intestinal digestion, the droplets of all SOB emulsions gradually dispersed, and particle sizes decreased. Different heating temperatures had lesser effects on particle sizes and microstructures. Lipolysis was affected by the extraction pH and heating. For pH 11.0-SOB emulsions, the FFA release tendency was greatly affected by the heating temperature, and heating to 80 °C resulted in the highest FFA release (74%). However, all pH 7.0-SOB emulsions had similar total FFA releases. In addition, the droplet charges of heated pH 7.0-SOB emulsions were lower than those of unheated pH 7.0-SOB emulsions in both the intestine and stomach phases; however, the charge changes in different pH 11.0-SOB emulsions showed the opposite tendency. This study will offer guidance regarding the application of SOB emulsions in food.

Salt and osmotic stress seriously restrict the growth, development, and productivity of horticultural crops in the greenhouse. The papain-like cysteine proteases (PLCPs) participate in multi-stress responses in plants. We previously demonstrated that salt and osmotic stress affect cysteine protease 15 of pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) (CaCP15); however, the role of CaCP15 in salt and osmotic stress responses is unknown. Here, the function of CaCP15 in regulating pepper salt and osmotic stress resistance was explored. Pepper plants were subjected to abiotic (sodium chloride, mannitol, salicylic acid, ethrel, methyl jasmonate, etc.) and biotic stress (Phytophthora capsici inoculation). The CaCP15 was silenced through the virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) and transiently overexpressed in pepper plants. The full-length CaCP15 fragment is 1568 bp, with an open reading frame of 1032 bp, encoding a 343 amino acid protein. CaCP15 is a senescence-associated gene 12 (SAG12) subfamily member containing two highly conserved domains, Inhibitor 129 and Peptidase_C1. CaCP15 expression was the highest in the stems of pepper plants. The expression was induced by salicylic acid, ethrel, methyl jasmonate, and was infected by Phytophthora capsici inoculation. Furthermore, CaCP15 was upregulated under salt and osmotic stress, and CaCP15 silencing in pepper enhanced salt and mannitol stress resistance. Conversely, transient overexpression of CaCP15 increased the sensitivity to salt and osmotic stress by reducing the antioxidant enzyme activities and negatively regulating the stress-related genes. This study indicates that CaCP15 negatively regulates salt and osmotic stress resistance in pepper via the ROS-scavenging.

The aerosol observations in Xi’an (34.25°N, 108.983°E), a typical urban site in Northwest China, were conducted using a sky-radiometer from January 2015 to March 2018. Multi-year variations of aerosol optical properties (AOPs) and lidar ratios (LRs) were simultaneously analyzed and calculated. In particular, LRs in 340 nm were compared and validated using the UV-Raman lidar (RL) measurements. During the study period, aerosol optical depth at 500 nm (AOD500) had significant seasonal variation, with a maximum value of 0.68 in winter and a minimum value of 0.59 in autumn. Ångström exponent (AE) exhibited different seasonal variation patterns, and the minimum (0.81) and maximum (1.06) values appeared in spring and summer, respectively. The spectral difference between AE400–675 and AE675–870 indicated that high AOD675 values (>1.0) were affected by accidental factors (e.g., dust weather in spring and winter) and the accumulation of fine particle aerosols across all seasons. The relationship between AOD500 and AE400–870 was used to distinguish different aerosol types. Overall, mixed aerosols (MX) accounted for the largest contribution (ranging from 40.14% in autumn to 69.9% in spring), followed by biomass-burning or urban/industrial aerosols (BB/UI) (with the smallest value of 19.9% in spring, and the largest value of 43.66% in winter). Single-scattering albedo (SSAs) experienced weak seasonal variation, with a minimum in winter and a maximum in spring. The seasonal aerosol volume size distributions (VSDs) generally exhibited the trimodal patterns. The particle radius (R) of less than 0.5 μm is considered as fine mode, the coarse mode is R greater than 2.5 μm, and the middle mode is located somewhere in between them. The real CRI were ∼1.41–1.43, with no significant difference among different seasons. Besides, the LRs derived by combining sky-radiometer with Mie-scattering theory changed greatly with weather from 49.95 ± 8.89 in summer to 63.95 ± 6.77 in autumn, which were validated by RL with the errors within a certain height range of less than 10%. We confirmed the feasibility of using the LR of UV band from sky-radiometer as a reference value for the Fernald or Klett method.

ObjectiveTo establish a nomogram to predict the outcome of biliary atresia (BA) infants 3-months post- Kasai portoenterostomy (KPE).MethodsBA Infants who underwent KPE from two hospitals were included in the training (n = 161) and validation cohorts (n = 64). A logistic regression equation (Equation A) for predicting the serum total bilirubin (TBIL) level 3-month post-KPE was established in the training cohort. Then, a nomogram was developed based on Equation A in the training cohort and validated in the validation cohort. Moreover, a new equation (Equation B) was generated based on the nomogram and the size of the enlarged hilar lymph nodes (LNs) in the validation cohort. The predictive performance of the nomogram was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and by calculating the area under the ROC curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, and positive (PPV) and negative (NPV) prediction values.ResultsA nomogram based on gallbladder morphology and serum levels of TBIL and total protein (TP) was established with AUC (95%CI) of 0.673 (0.595, 0.745) and 0.647 (0.518, 0.763), sensitivity (95%CI) of 71.4% (62.1%,79.6%) and 81.8% (59.7%,94.8%), specificity (95%CI) of 63.3% (48.3%,76.6%) and 47.6% (32.0%,63.6%), PPV (95%CI) of 81.6% (72.5%,88.9%) and 45.0% (29.3%,61.5%), and NPV (95%CI) 49.2% (36.4%,62.1%) and 83.3% (62.6%,95.3%), respectively, in the training and validation cohorts. Furthermore, in the validation cohort, the AUC (95%CI) of Equation B was 0.798 (95%CI: 0.679, 0.888), which was significantly higher than that of the nomogram (P = 0.042).ConclusionA nomogram based on the pre-KPE gallbladder morphology, TBIL, and TP to predict the outcome of BA 3-months post-KPE is established. Moreover, the addition of the size of the enlarged hilar LNs into the nomogram further improves its predictive value.

Abstract In order to solve the problem of determining the heating suspended composite insulators in transmission lines, infrared tests for composite insulators newly put into operation and with heat defect were conducted. The insulator surface temperature distribution characteristics were obtained. Furthermore, the characteristic parameters based on temperature gradient were revealed and the judgment method of heating defect was established. The results indicate that considerable proportion of the composite insulators in operation have a temperature difference more than 5 K, thus false judgment could occurred when judging heating defect only by temperature difference. Normal composite insulator temperature curve was composed of high‐frequency and low‐frequency components. The influence of the low‐frequency component on the temperature difference is greater than that of the high‐frequency component. Obvious temperature gradient exists at the heating region boundary. The standard deviation of temperature gradient and the maximum absolute value of temperature low‐frequency component gradient are effective characteristic parameters to distinguish whether heating defects exist. The heating defect judgment method was established based on the characteristic parameters, and was verified by field data with an accuracy rate of 94.31%. The method satisfied the heating defect judgement under UAV infrared lens with spatial resolution value not larger than 0.895 mrad.

It is still challenging to make accurate diagnosis of biliary atresia (BA) with sonographic gallbladder images particularly in rural areas without relevant expertise. Here, the authors develop a diagnostic deep learning model which favourable performance in comparison with human experts in multi-center external validation.

Revealing the bending mechanism of graphene nanosheets (GNSs) is crucial in improving the thermal properties of GNSs and their derivatives. For the effective application of graphene-based composites, the effect of bending on the thermal conductivity must be investigated. Consequently, the bending mechanism of GNSs in the dynamic compounding process was studied using molecular dynamics (MD). According to the MD simulation and previous experimental study, finite element models of bent GNSs and GNSs/epoxy composites were designed, to study the influence of bending content on thermal conductivity. The investigations indicate that the thermal conductivity of bent GNSs along the X-axis (KGNS,x) decreases linearly with the increase in height and number of bends. With the increase in bending length, KGNS,x initially decreases and then increases when the bend is low, while it always decreases when the bend is high. The thermal conductivity of bent GNSs/epoxy composites along the X-axis (Kc,x) follows a similar trend and reduces sharply with increasing height. Contrastingly, Kc,x always increases with the increasing length of bends. The results show that long and low bends in graphene improve thermal conductivity of graphene filled composites.

As the double carbon target continues to be promoted and the installed capacity of gas-fired power generation gradually expands, whether and when gas-fired power generation should enter the market is a major concern for the industry. This paper analyzes the change in power generation cost and the characteristics of bidding behavior of the power generation group with the fluctuation of primary energy price to study the timing and role of gas power generation entering the market. The evolutionary game model for gas- and coal-fired power generation groups based on the influence of multiple factors takes into account factors such as generation costs, the number of power generation groups, generation capacity, supply, and demand. The equilibrium states of the power generation groups under various scenarios and the conditions that need to be satisfied for the equilibrium states are analyzed, and a method for determining the stable equilibrium point of the evolving market game is proposed. Examples use the actual price fluctuations of coal and natural gas as input data to validate the rationality of the paper’s model and the stable equilibrium approach.

Purpose: To compare the reliability and performance of Supersonic shear wave elastography (S-SWE) and Toshiba shear wave elastography (T-SWE) in the diagnosis of biliary atresia (BA) and assessment of liver fibrosis among jaundiced infants suspected of BA. Material and Methods: A total of 35 patients with suspected BA who underwent both S-SWE and T-SWE examinations were prospectively included. Diagnostic performances of S-SWE and T-SWE in identifying BA were evaluated. The correlation between two types of SWE values and histological liver fibrosis stages by Metavir scores were investigated in 21 patients with pathology results. The intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) were calculated in 16 patients for inter- and intra-observer agreement. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) analysis was compared using a DeLong test. Results: There were 22 patients with BA and 13 patients without BA. The diagnostic performance of S-SWE was comparable to that of T-SWE (AUC 0.895 vs. 0.822, p = 0.071) in diagnosing BA. The AUCs of S-SWE in predicting liver fibrosis stages were from 0.676 to 1.000 and showed no statistical differences from that of T-SWE (from 0.704 to 1.000, all p > 0.05). T-SWE provided higher inter-operator agreement (ICC 0.990) and intra-operator agreement (ICCs 0.966–0.993), compared with that of S-SWE in a previous study (ICC 0.980 for inter-operator and 0.930–0.960 for intra-operator). Conclusions: For infants suspected of BA, T-SWE had good performances in the diagnosis of BA and the assessment of liver fibrosis compared with S-SWE. Furthermore, T-SWE showed higher measurement reproducibility than S-SWE.

Biliary atresia is an aggressive liver disease of infancy and can cause death without timely surgical intervention. Early diagnosis of biliary atresia is critical to the recovery of bile drainage and long-term transplant-free survival. Ultrasound is recommended as the initial imaging strategy for the diagnosis of biliary atresia. Numerous ultrasound features have been proved helpful for the diagnosis of biliary atresia. In recent years, with the help of new technologies such as elastography ultrasound, contrast-enhanced ultrasound and artificial intelligence, the diagnostic performance of ultrasound has been significantly improved. In this review, various ultrasound features in the diagnosis of biliary atresia are summarized. A diagnostic decision flow chart for biliary atresia is proposed on the basis of the hybrid technologies, combining conventional ultrasound, elastography and contrast-enhanced ultrasound. In addition, the application of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of biliary atresia with ultrasound images is also introduced.

Abstract The objective of this study is to improve the overall prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); therefore, new therapeutic methods that can be used in vivo are urgently needed. In this study, the relationship between the quantities of microRNA (miR)‐125b‐5p in clinical specimens and clinicopathological parameters is analyzed. A folate‐conjugated nanocarrier is used to transfect miR‐125b‐5p in vivo and to observe the therapeutic effect on HCC. The inhibitory effect and mechanism of miR‐125b‐5p on hepatoma cells are also studied. Data from clinical specimens and in vitro experiments confirm that the miR‐125b‐5p quantity is negatively correlated with progression, and the target protein that regulates the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT)/cancer stem cells (CSC) potential in HCC is STAT3. The miR‐125b‐5p/STAT3 axis inhibits the invasion, migration, and growth of HCC via inactivation of the wnt/β‐Catenin pathway. miR‐125b‐5p‐loaded nanomedicine effectively inhibits the EMT/CSC potential of hepatoma cells in vivo together with their magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) visualization characteristics. An HCC‐therapeutic and MRI‐visible nanomedicine platform that achieves noninvasive treatment effect monitoring and timely individualized treatment course adjustment is developed.

To present great environmental pressure from energy consumption during textile production, this paper calculates the energy footprint (EFP) of Shaoxing’s textile industry, from 2005 to 2018. Moreover, this study analyzes the relationship between Shaoxing’s textile industry energy consumption and economic development by using decoupling theory. Furthermore, the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index decomposition method was employed to investigate the main factors that affect the EFP of Shaoxing’s textile industry. Research results show the following: (1) The growth rate of the total output value of Shaoxing’s textile industry was greater than the growth rate of the EFP, from 2005 to 2007. Thus, the decoupling state showed a weak decoupling, and EFP intensity decreased. (2) The EFP and economic growth were mainly based on the strong decoupling of Shaoxing’s textile industry from 2008 to 2015 (except for 2011), and EFP intensity declined further. (3) Economic recession in the textile industry was severe in Shaoxing, from 2016 to 2018, and the EFP also showed a downward trend. The state of decoupling appeared as a recessive decoupling (2016) and a weak negative decoupling (2017 and 2018), and EFP intensity first increased and then decreased. (4) The total effect of the factors affecting the EFP of the textile industry in Shaoxing demonstrated a pulling trend, and industrial scale played a significant role in driving the EFP. The energy consumption intensity effect contributed the largest restraint. This paper fills in the gaps in the environmental regulation means and methods of pillar industrial clusters in specific regions.

Land-use practices such as mowing and nitrogen (N) fertilization can have significant impacts on plant stoichiometry. However, the interactive effects of mowing and N fertilization on the community-level plant stoichiometry and the underlying processes are not well understood. We examined the impacts of mowing (once a year) and N fertilization (12 g N m ^−2 yr ^−1 ) on the community-level plant stoichiometry in a semi-arid grassland on the Loess Plateau. Results obtained showed that mowing alone had no effect on the community-level plant N or phosphorus (P) concentration. N fertilization alone significantly reduced the community-level plant P concentration, but did not affect the community-level plant N concentration, leading to an enhancement of plant N:P ratio. However, mowing altered the effects of N fertilization, leading to a higher plant N (and P) concentration than the fertilization-only plots. Also, mowing significantly reduced soil nitrate (NO _3 ^− ), but increased soil temperature, photosynthetic active radiation, plant diversity, richness and gross ecosystem productivity. In addition, mowing and N fertilization significantly affected plant community composition through shifting dominant plant functional groups (PFGs) (e.g. asteraceae, forbs and grass). Further, our structural equation modeling analysis showed that shifts in PFGs played an important role in regulating plant stoichiometry under mowing and N fertilization. Together, these results illustrate that effective management of mowing and N fertilization may induce changes in soil limiting nutrients and shifts in plant community composition, potentially altering plant N:P stoichiometry at the community level.

Compressed air energy storage (CAES) is a commercial, utility-scale technology that provides long-duration energy storage with fast ramp rates and good part-load operation. It is a promising storage technology for balancing the large-scale penetration of renewable energies, such as wind and solar power, into electric grids. This study proposes a CAES-CC system, which is based on a conventional CAES combined with a steam turbine cycle by waste heat boiler. Simulation and thermodynamic analysis are carried out on the proposed CAES-CC system. The electricity and heating rates of the proposed CAES-CC system are lower than those of the conventional CAES by 0.127 kWh/kWh and 0.338 kWh/kWh, respectively, because the CAES-CC system recycles high-temperature turbine-exhausting air. The overall efficiency of the CAES-CC system is improved by approximately 10% compared with that of the conventional CAES. In the CAES-CC system, compressing intercooler heat can keep the steam turbine on hot standby, thus improving the flexibility of CAES-CC. This study brought about a new method for improving the efficiency of CAES and provided new thoughts for integrating CAES with other electricity-generating modes.
